Have never been to Bob Evans, and went about a week ago. I ordered fish with sides of hash, fresh fruit, and banana nut bread. The fish was pretty tasty. One fillet was a bit soggy inside, but still tasted great. The banana nut bread was amazing! The hash was good with ketchup on top. I didn't quite love the apples in the fruit, but that's not really to the restaurants discredit. Our server was very nice, but the one downside of this location is the wait. We got there at the end of lunch time, and it took around an hour to get our food after we ordered it. The people next to us had the same problem. It just seemed like we were forgotten about at times. Just make sure that if you eat here you have some time to really sit down and eat. The food is good, so that's the big plus! read more

I had a terrible experience today at the Maysville/Meijer drive location. Our waitress, Ashley, was outstanding. She was doing as much as she possibly could. However, the rest of the staff did as much as they had to and then stood behind the counter and talked. There were five tables with dishes just sitting and nobody taking them back to the kitchen or cleaning the tables. The cooks were also standing and talking, so everyone's food was very slow and late. One customer ended up leaving while waiting for his food. Another family waited 45 minutes. I couldn't stand looking at the dirty tables anymore, so I got up and took the dishes back to the kitchen myself. I've worked in restaurants before, so this was nothing new to me. When I started to put the dishes down, I noticed there was also a pile of dirty dishes on the line. Not only were they not cleaning off the tables, they weren't doing the dishes that were already back there. They continued to let me do this until they got the hint and started doing the dishes themselves. A lady asked me if I worked here and told me I can't come back because it's a safety hazard. I said it's also a health hazard to leave the dining room dirty and not have the dishes done. The staff, besides Ashley, started yelling at me in front of the dining room. They told me they weren't picking up the dishes because it wasn't their section. I told them the dining room was a mess and they weren't doing anything, so they needed to help their coworker. One lady told me she couldn't do it because she was too busy folding children's menus. Later, we could all hear them fighting amongst themselves. They weren't even in the back - they were in front of everyone. Ashley finally said "I'm done. I'm walking out. I can't work here anymore." I went around to the back to talk to her. She said she's been working there longer than anyone else. I gave her a recommendation of somewhere else to work. We've noticed this Bob Evans has a high turnover rate. We'll see waitresses a few times, then never again. I was told the manager's name is Crystal. There was no manager on duty during this time. We've been going to this location for years, but after seeing the way they acted today and treated the only person who was slammed and actually working, we are done. When a customer has to get up and do your job, you're not even an employee at that point and you might as well not even be there. The two ladies who were "working" with her that day should be fired. I go to this restaurant at least once a month to meet a friend. We need to start going somewhere else. The quality of the food is very inconsistent. Today's omelet was awful. It was just a cooked couple of eggs with frozen spinach, fresh mushrooms and feta cheese. Usually the spinach is fresh. It was not fluffy and couldn't really be considered an omelet. I also ordered sourdough toast. It was burned so i asked for it to be remade. She brought another order and it also was pretty dark. I'm not picky either and usually cut restaurants some slack but not this time. My breakfast was gross. The service was mediocre-I think the waitress was new. She was slow but efficient. The place was clean and not sticky. They need to get consistent cooks. I will go elsewhere next time. read more

We went here a week ago Saturday for a late lunch with our two teenage daughters. I used to love bob evans so much, even worked at the Decatur location when it was open. This place felt dirty and worn down. The server was a nice younger gal. Refills were slow, but I think she was working by herself and her manager was helping. The food was underwhelming as well. My daughter had two sunny side up eggs with undercooked, slimy whites. My cranberry pecan chicken salad was some lettuce on a plate with chicken nuggets and pecans. Boo. Biscuits were stale. Maybe pancakes are the safe bet here, because my other daughter got them and they looked wonderful. The absolute thing that put the nail in the coffin for me was the horrific state of the women's restroom. So filthy, even the ceiling looked bad in there. If I could give less than 1 star I would. Ordered Rise and Shine breakfast with eggs over medium, crispy hash browns and sausage links. Took 25 minutes to get our food and when it arrived the eggs were super runny. Sent it back. Redid it and got my food within 5 minutes. Still runny, blonde hash browns, and slimy cold sausage. Refused the food and anything else. Didn't trust the kitchen after that and honestly was afraid of what might happen to my food if I ordered something else. Waitress was very apologetic but no manager or supervisor came to ask what happened. DO NOT RECOMMEND under any circumstances. STAY AWAY! read more

Came in early on a sunday. Not busy at all. It was myself, hubby, and our 1 year old. We were seated without a high chair after asking for one. The manager had to force the hostess to bring it over. Waitress took our drink order and then food orders for 3 tables who sat down after us. Annoying but whatever. Not sure if it was the fact that my hubby is black and our baby is mixed but every other table was greeted with a smile and we were greeted with attitude and treated like garbage. First time to this Bob Evans. Had breakfast. Took awhile to get served. Got the generic "hi honey, whatcha havin". I got greasy bacon, hash browns under cooked (asked for extra crispy) and when she asked if I wanted jelly with my bread I said "please and some ketchup for the hash browns" she said no problem. Ordered the meatloaf. Half of it was burnt and all of it was dry. So much so, that I didn't eat all of it (luckily I had gravy from the potatoes to put on it). The two stars were given because the sides were decent. I don't think I'll be returning. read more

I am sorry I even gave this place a one star. We went here for a friend's birthday. The place was busy. Every one seemed stressed. The food was absolutely inadequate. Most of the meals were cooked poorly and I ordered a dish where all of the ingredients were not available. The management was disrespectful to customers as well as staff. The manager actually allowed a table of customers to berate an employee over their service experience. This I found to be absolutely a failure on the managers part. Wow. First time eating at Bob Evans since the pandemic. It has really went down hill. Received my order and got the main course with non of the sides. Had to ask for each one. Terrible. I'm not one to give many bad reviews but we went here after church on a Sunday. It wasn't too extremely busy. My girlfriend and I got the pot roast meal with unlimited side of bread,soup, and dessert. The soup was good. The waitress seemed like she had a problem with giving us more bread. Bc 2 rolls isn't much for 2 people. The pot roast was the worst. It was pure liquified. I then got the apple pie for dessert. It was good. My girlfriend got the mint chocolate pie. She didn't like it. I ate it. It was poor. Meanwhile, while eating all I could hear is the employees complaining about their job while cleaning tables. read more

Just got home from walking out of this location. I'll have you know list last night I tipped 30% at another restaurant because I know they are all stressed during this time. Arrived 12:45 pm, seated 1:15. Ordered breakfast before 1:30. Waitress was nice. No food by 1:45. She said it will only be a minute. She brought bread. I heard her call to the kitchen for our food. Other tables around us who were seated and ordered after us received their food and we're almost finished. At about 2 pm I heard her call, "You need to make 61 right now." I went up to the counter and asked for our food. The waitress and manager both told me there are 20 minute ticket times and it's being made now. 2:10 pm no food. We put on our coats and told them why we were leaving. The manager only repeated that food was coming out in order of when they went in. I told her then our ticket must have been missed and not put in when we ordered. She almost started arguing with me. She apologized for the 20 minute ticket times. Never apologized for our experience, didn't offer any type of coupon, nothing. As we were walking out I heard either the manager or say loudly, "Anybody want French toast?" Very rude and unprofessional. I will never go back to this location and it's the closest to my house. There are many other choices in the area. Doesn't the customer deserve more respect? Where do I start. My granddaughter spilled an entire glass of pop on the table. Well somehow it never got cleaned up. But they brought napkins over for me to clean it up. I have been to this locations numerous times. The service and food are hit and miss. If the restaurant is busy then don't count on your food being out for a while and the attitudes of the staff are not good. When it's not so busy the staff and food are great!! I usually visit this location once every 6 weeks or so and service is usually good. Not today though. We visited on a Saturday morning around 8:30am. The carpeting had garbage left on it and waitresses and bus people continued to ignore it instead of cleaning it up. Our waitress was young and seemed new. For a restaurant that has a gluten free menu and is pretty knowledgeable about communicating such needs with the cooks, this waitress didn't act like she had a clue (which made me nervous). She also didn't revisit our table to bring us our meals or see if we needed refills on our coffee as she should have. In fact, we rarely saw her. Bus lady cleaned the table next to us and pushed the garbage on the table (debris of food) right on the floor making it even dirtier. When manager was out visiting tables I got his attention and point these things out to him. He made excuses that he just "arrived" to the restaurant and was catching up. So from 7:00am to 8:30am there is no manager on duty? Come on now. He then asked a young employee to clean up the carpet. She brought a broom out and then realized that wasn't going to work on carpeting. She seriously doesn't pay attention that there is carpet on the floor? She then swept about 2/3 of the mess but left the rest and the manager never came back to inspect that she did an adequate job of cleaning up (boy I'd hate to imagine how these employees live in their own homes!). Manager said he'd get us a refill on our coffees but took him awhile to do it. Never saw him speak to our waitress. I seriously think the staff at this location are not getting properly trained on how to do their jobs. And my hashbrowns were cold. I doubt I will go back. The food is priced to high and the service is now not very good. Super disappointed. read more

Complete waste of time and money. Slow service even though it was not busy and there was staff standing around , wrong drink, no one came by to our table for nearly half an hour after drink order so we couldn't get it replaced. Could hear staff complaining while we ate. They did not bus the tables near us for almost an hour. Half the cheese on my grilled sandwich was solidifying on the plate and I had to tear my sandwich apart to fix it. Given to us by the assistant manager so clearly they don't care about quality or presentation. Honestly this was my first time at any Bob Evans and I am incredibly disappointed. Ordered eggs, toast, hash browns, bacon and a slice of French Toast. They have a cook who knows nothing about cooking. The eggs looked like they were scrambled with rust, the hash browns were cold and barely cooked or browned. I couldn't have toast because they had no white bread. The bacon was from a very old pig. The French toast was okay. I generally like Bob Evans but this was awful and they seem to be going downhill. Three tables left while I was there but only one was cleaned when I left.
