The food was obviously made this morning and seemed like they reheated it and served it to us. The temperature was freezing cold to where i was shivering. the surroundings were decent. Waited over an hour for our food and there were open tables in the restaurant. Half of our group of 5's orders were incorrect and/or items were missing. What can you say!? The food is good but the service could use better attention! Both servers had been working a very long shift, one of which had been there since 08:00 and by the time we left it was going on 20:00. Our server a curly hair young man was complaining about how long his day had been. They both had multiple tables and still had lots of things to get done on the side. I saw management a couple of times, but we're very helpful! However there was still more going on at the work station than on the floor. Tables didn't get completely neglected, but didn't get impeccable service either. Because a table behind me had finished their meal, and stat quietly waiting for their server to come back to the table before finally being able to ask for the check. What didn't help is when a very tall person, who had been riding a motorcycle came in to chat with the curly hair server. A complete distraction nothing more! What can I say Bob Evans is American style breakfast. The prices are low and service is good & the place is nice and clean. The best part about this place is they serve Pepsi products which is a big plus for my husband since it's very rare to find a restaurant that offer Pepsi. One of the reasons why I like coming to Bob Evans I get to enjoy breakfast and my husband get to enjoy a lunch. Our food was good & service was on point. Love coming here if I am craving their oh so good pot roast dinner. That pot roast is very delicious. Tender fork good. They offer banana bread as an offering if you don't care for the biscuits that comes with meal ordered. The banana bread is delicious. They sell it on its own by the registers. I have tried other dinner bell options such as the lemon pepper sole filet, mushroom and onion chopped steak. The pot roast is still my top choice. My sides are usually corn, carrots or broccoli or even mashed potatoes. The sweet potatoes side to me tasted more like home fries. Strawberry lemonade is my go to drink choice. Staff here are friendly and Love their merch! Especially during the holidays offerings! I have bought ornaments for my sister because they were unique lol The t shirts are also adorable! Have been going to this restaurant for years, today was our last attempt. We normally go every Saturday morning around 7ish because my wife works at 9. Last three times we went the doors and they were locked. The times were between 7:15 and 7:25 the restaurant is supposed to to open up at 7 on Saturdays. There are always staff in the place but doors are locked. We found another place to spend our Saturday mornings. read more

Wife and I decided to have a late lunch here New Years Eve. Big Mistake. Although we've eaten here quite a few times over the past couple of years and have overlooked several minor things like being way too cold for comfort while eating and always, always having too little staff available., it has almost always had good food. Today that was surely not the case. I ordered the Roast Beef Dinner and the beef was like the dregs on the bottom after everyone's been served. l mean like baby food, no solid pieces, just strings of shredded beef, served in a bowl, not on a plate! The waitress asked the chef about it, and the chef said it was the same as usual, but this is NOT THE CASE. This beef was like mush, like someone else had already chewed it up and spit it out. We've always enjoyed the beef and turkey dinners and they were always great. My wife had the special turkey sandwich and the chicken cranberry salad and they were good. Nery a complaint, just good eats. I dont know what the problem was, a chef who didn't give a damn, or the chain cutting back on quality. Whatever it was, we'll not be returning because this scenario is unacceptable. I hope someone who oversees franchise service sees this because it is a shame for one person to be able to ruin perception of the entire chain. On the other hand, if it is the chains attempt to lower their costs, It'll be sad to see Bob Evans on the list of restautants to be going out of business. Decent breakfast place that I've recently discovered has quite a few locations. The service is really great here, as our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. The best thing to get here is the hot chocolate and the breakfast items such as hashbrowns, eggs, and French toast. The sausage links and bacon are also good side items - very tasty! I do not recommend the pancakes here as they do not cook them all the way through or they're soggy. If you're ever here, there are also items for souvenirs such as t-shirts and candy, as well as fun toys and games for kids. Overall, ok place but one of the more commercialized restaurants here in Lake Wales. read more

The bacon was re heated so many times it was crunchy with a fat back taste and the grits and toast was so cold the butter wouldn't melt. I didn't say anything to the server, but when I went to pay our bill I was asked by the gentleman how was everything. I preceded to tell him everything on my meal was cold. Was pretty sad that this was my husbeast's first experience with Bob Evans. We were seated immediately, our drinks brought out promptly, and orders taken promptly. Now this is where it went sideways. It took 50min to get our order. It was 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy(barely warm biscuits and Lukewarm gravy) and grits (over cooked and so thick it could have been mortar). I ordered the 2egg scrambled (overcooked to rubbery) turkey sausage (lukewarm) and fresh fruit. I asked our server after 45min when we could expect our order. She said: We have 1 cook and the manager in the kitchen right now because 2 people no-showed today. You are just going to have to be patient. Being from Wisconsin I had to stop in to get the sausage gravy. It was good but I didn't eat a lot of it as I know it isn't great for you. The mini sampler was a good way to go so I got sausage, egg, hashbrowns, and toast. The wife got oatmeal and fruit. All of the food was served hot and the service was good. I'm only giving this a two star because the servers were very nice and efficient. First of all, the bathrooms need a good cleaning top to bottom. The floor is disgusting . I owned a medical building cleaning business and I can tell when trash hasn't been emptied, so at 1:30 in the afternoon , unless they had mass quantities of customers( which I doubt) the large trash can in women's bathroom was overflowing. Was having a great time in Tanners, having drinks and playing music on the you-pay-for-it service TouchTunes. Asked for the volume to be turned up a bit so I could hear what I'd PAID FOR and the bar staff were very nice, trying to keep it low enough not to be intrusive but still entertaining. People were dancing to the music I was playing. But on the last song, one I'd dedicated to my friend who was headed north for a few months, the MUSIC NAZI manager came by, spouted some crap about people complaining about the music being too loud and turned it down to the point we couldn't hear it. You know....FINE. If managing a bar is all about going around and finding things that are wrong, so be it. So, do the same thing when the band is too loud and playing crap no one likes or understands. But this manager basically RUINED the evening by deciding the music was too much. I'm willing to bet that not ONE person complained about the music but the MUSIC NAZI decided it was too much. FYI. We were promptly seated and then given our booth. I liked the menu. Since we were here for breakfast, we only browsed the breakfast items. I don't know if all the menus are the same but they must've revamped their menu. There were a lot of new things I had never seen and really liked. From vegetarian omelette's to the full blown carnivore diet. I had the Santa fe style omelette while my parents had a vegetarian omelette and a cornmush (that's what it says) breakfast along with hashbrowns and extra sausages on the side. Time for food to get to us was very minimal and for a breakfast appetizer they gave us both banana and pumpkin spices slices of bread. Holy moly... that bread was fantastic! What a mistake it was to choose going to THIS Bob Evans restaurant. People know from Bob Evans. It didn't happen today so I have to review this place to warn others. It has to be the management of this particular restaurant as to how bad today was. It started off with realizing there is no soap in the bathroom and an older lady expressing how there was no toilet paper in her stall. Both she and I went to inform management of the situation. We were told with a smile that it's been a very busy day and they are short staffed. Excuses, no apologies, no promise to correct it. Our server tried her best and was running around like a poor beaten straw dog. The turkey plate was dry, half their normal size and thin cut. We were promised over and over, a drink refill, then our ticket. As we waited in like the 5 people ahead of us, all of them told the lady checking them out how dirty the place was and they would never be back. I think everyone felt that way today. We ate there for dinner last night. Lack luster greeting and seating should have been an indication to leave but we stayed. We asked for a booth but were told they were all dirty. Seated at a really wobbly table that was handicap noted. Our waitress tried to be attentive but our food took forever to get to us. Grilled chicken salad and a garden salad with half of a turkey sandwich should not take near a half hour to get to us, especially when there were only a few people in the place.
