We had a rough time here for our first visit. It could be cause we went on a Wednesday which we found out kids eat for free. They were understaffed and it took awhile for us to be greated by our server. Took longer than usual to get our drinks and to place an order. Food came out which what seemed like a longer time than normal but its our first time there. The server didn't check in on us and I had to keep flagging her down for stuff we were missing and refills. My order got messed up which made me wait on the server and again had to flag her down. Nor sure if we will be back but if we do it wont be on a Wednesday. read more

This place was really busy, makes sense being a breakfast place. It was a 15-20 minute wait at 9 on a Sunday. Plenty by the front to look at like toys, candy, and candles. Our orders were taken promptly once seated and the food tasted great. No issues making alterations to our order. Be warned that there aren't really any vegan entrées. So a salad with no cheese and no croutons plus hashbrowns and seasonal fruit. The colonial dressing is very thick like a gel and sweet. Home fries are also vegan. Mason jars of water were cute. I was a bit annoyed as we both ordered hashbrowns, but his was a half a plate while mine was only a fourth. At least my home fries were a half plate. My friend and I just wanted a simple meal while we were busy catching up with each other on our family news. We were seated after maybe a 3 minute wait. Our server Kateland couldn't have been nicer. She was courteous, attentive,helpful and very pleasant. Our food was served in a timely manner and was made to perfect order, and tasted delicious. The restaurant has been updated since last time I was there about 2 years ago. The floors and tables and restroom were clean and looking great. Donna who was the cashier who checked us out, was also pleasant and very helpful. This restaurant seems to have a great crew! Thank you from two very satisfied customers. Keep up the great work. This is a follow-up to a previous review where I bemoaned the fact that the accuracy on take-out orders was sub-par. I am now pleased to report that the accuracy has markedly improved on the last several orders I have made. The food itself has been uniformly tasty with generous portions and reliably prepared. The staff has always been friendly and helpful and that has not changed. I am very pleased with the increased quality improvement regarding the accuracy of orders. The online coupons also help to bring down the costs that tend to be on the high side for some items. All things considered, i am much more satisfied with this restaurant chain! read more

Stopped on our way to Kentucky. I saw so many advertising for the honey chicken. Looked so good in the ads. Was very dissatisfied with it. Tasted like they just poured honey on a regular seasoned chicken breast. Then topped it off with a big slab of whipped butter. The rest of the breakfast was ok. Ordered an omelet and a salad online. Arrived on time at the end of a 30 minute prep window, they hadn't even started my order. Waited another 25 minutes for my food with the rest of the six or so take out orders standing around. I had a very similar experience for Thanksgiving, which was understandable. This time there was no excuse. It was a random weekday, and they weren't busy inside, as far as I could tell. Now that I'm writing this up, I remember I had the same experience before COVID when I ate inside; the kitchen held us up forever. Loud. Visited Memorial Day 2022 at 10:30. Place was 3/4 full. We waited 30 min to get served 2 omelettes. Never going to a BE again.

Went to the Mt Vernon, Ohio location. We arrived around 6 pm and was seated promptly. We got our drink order and then we waited and waited for the server to return. Finally we got our orders in and again we waited. I would not be as upset but they were not busy AT ALL! We did not get the check until 730. When I mentioned to the manager I got a shrug of his shoulder, no eye contact and "oh well were busy." Let me tell you this I know how a Bob Evans should run. I worked as a server at the original store. They were by no means busy. Poor service is no excuse. Poor management is worse. I also sent my cup back 2 times. First was dirty, then the coffee she brought me was luke warm. This really upsets me due to I LOVED this restaurant. I really would love to see this store shape up to what it used to be. At least give a hoot. I'm going to have to find a different place to eat that actually cares for its patrons. Oh and how can I forget we had to keep asking for items that we ordered. I finished half my meal before I finally got my toast. We had placed a to go order at the beginning. It was supposed to be ready when we were done. Oh no we had to wait again for that order. Service was very poor, but I do think the kitchen was to fault. I ordered a veggie and Brie omelet, and after waiting 40 minutes for it to come, it had no Brie. I didn't want to risk waiting another 15 minutes so I ate as is, but was still charged for the Brie omelet and the waitress didn't offer any alternative to their negligence. I don't know what has happened to this Bob Evans (Mount Vernon OH) but their food is not like it was. This past week I ordered 2 pick-up dinners and they were not good----not a good taste----turkey had very little flavor and the dressing smelled good, but it didn't taste like it smelled. I ordered a meal delivered. The meal we got belonged to someone else. We called to ask for our meal. The manager told us we would have to drive in ourself and pick up our meal. The manager did not apologize, or offer a refund on the delivery costs or even a piece of banana bread. I drove back to pick up my order which now has been on a shelf for an hour. The manager did not offer any apologies. He left it to his very busy wait staff who wouldn't even say sorry about the inconvenience. Anti-Customer Manager I have picked up a quart of vegetable beef soup every week or two for years now. My wife has problems digesting potatoes so I always ask if they can minimize the amount of potatoes. While I realize it is impossible to get rid of them all, the managers have always at least made an attempt. Last time I forgot to mention it and half the container was potatoes! Usually she gets two servings from a quart container, this time just one. I took a bag with the potatoes last night to show the manager why I always ask to minimize them. Unfortunately there was a manager I'd never seen before. She had no sympathy and told me that they make it with potatoes and that's how it comes. Have ordered food through the app multiple times as I love their food....not one order has been correct - there is always something missing. Have given feedback every time in their app and all I get is an apology email and they send a gift card through the mail - nothing improves! I have done this at least 4 times!! I'm not sure why they haven't improved their service but it seems to me that no one cares to act on and improve their service. Sincerely disappointed as I now don't want to order from there anymore. It is really too bad Bob Evans won't see this review. In the past I have been asked by Bob Evans corporate offices what I felt was wrong with there take out menu as I have at one time gotten breakast there regularly. So I have told them many things I felt should be changed or added. Which in fact to my suprise they did actually change alot of the suggestions i had made one was the way their website was for ordering. It had no place to put a discount code or to see if a code you had was any good. So they added that. The service had gotten rediculous when they informed me they had a takeout register but was not being utilized at this store. Today I went on their site and entered my discount code and it was accepted and discounted correctly. Oh the upselling on your site comes across as needy and pathetic please stop doing it. When I got to the store 15 minutes later after the site told me 20 my food was sitting on the togo table and was completely condensed on the inside meanong it has been there for a few maybe even more than 5 -10 minutes so the lady at the reguster told me she could help me at the other register that had a woman she was assisting then. She procedded to upsale everything the woman had ordered only convincing the woman to get a half gallon of tea. Si now I'm waiting for her to get the jug, pour the jug, clean the jug, bag the jug and then pay and bag exerything else. While I stand there an addituon 8 minutes the hole time another waitress or manager walking around smiling at me the hole time seeing that I am irritated. So when I do go to oay the code wasn't added to my bill and then going through my own upsale routine. When I get home the food isn't not even warm but the gravy on my cfs had started to get that tough skin on top of it. This is really and truly the worst I've ever gotten from takeout. I paid 9.56 for two eggs one busted yolk and atough piece of cfs with nasty gravy and hash browns that there was so little the singke egg covered it in the container leading me to believe they had forgitten to put in. So I made me some scrambked eggs and added it to the smallest 10.00 meal I've ever seen. read more

Food is always decent - however the staff is usually rude and service is terrible. I had a hostess ask what my first name was, and after I had told her, she made a rude comment saying "I ask for your first name not your last. Now what is your FIRST NAME?" Extremely rude... The people that are running the cash register however are typically kind. They are very quick to get take out orders ready. Prices are reasonable. read more

The food is good but the same as any other Bob Evans location. The issue here is the service. Every time I've come here I've had to wait extremely long just to get a table or water, let alone food. My husband and I were out on a date (which, with three small kids, never happens). It took forever to get our food, there was a puddle of water on the floor in the kitchen made by one of the workers, and all of the workers kept sloshing through it, while talking about who made the mess, laughing. It was about three inches deep and was now all over the floor in the dining area. I had to warn an elderly man of the water on the floor so he would not slip and fall, along with his family. As it drew closer to closing time, the workers started to clean, and, right beside us, a worker was sticking her rear in our faces while trying to vacuum under booths. I did not feel like I was dining, or even in a restaurant. I lost my appetite and asked for a take home box for my food. Not sure why I paid to dine in when I ate most of my food in my vehicle on the way home. Horrible. Please, clean after I am finished eating, you know, when the restaurant is actually closed. Another time, my husband was just released from the emergency room (still having a kidney stone), and decided he felt like eating Bob Evans. One woman was the waitress for all tables, so our glasses were left empty, we didn't end up getting everything that was supposed to be included in our meal (but paid for), etc. It was horrible. My husband decided we weren't going to wait around any longer to be waited on -- it was ridiculous -- and decided to just check out. He proceeded to the register and asked to talk to the manager. The manager came out and my husband voiced his concerns to the manager. He wasn't rude or anything, just stated that it wasn't fair to the one waitress nor the customers when you could clearly see that she needed assistance. So, as my husband was paying for our meals, the manager said that he was low-staffed. My husband said that it seemed to him to be mismanagement. (I would have asked him to put on an apron himself and help her out. That's what good managers do. Not to just "supervise".) The manager said that he did not appreciate my husband's comments and as he gave my husband his change, tossed it into my husband's hand and said, "We don't need your business." Wow. What management. My husband walked out with my children as my sister and I stood there; I stood there with my mouth dropped open and eyes wide in disbelief of what just happened. I said, "Wow. Really?" Then the lady behind the counter started mouthing me off, trying to justify the manager's actions. We walked out... and so did other customers (who were waiting to be seated to eat) after seeing this. This is the WORST Bob Evans I've ever been to. Went to Bob Evans last week. It was the worst meal I've ever had at Bob Evans. I had their pot roast sandwich. It only had two little pieces of meat in the sandwich it did not look appetizing at all. When the waitress showed up I showed her the sandwich. She said I could put more meat in it for you. By then I just told her I wanted something different. We had a group of 7 dining in, food was ok(my eggs were cold) waitress was nice but my son's dink glass broke apart while he was holding it, he pants were soaked. No discount given! So I asked to speak to manger, got the assistant. He said he'd take off the charge for the coke!!! What??? He was very rude. This Bob Evans opened in February so they are still working on getting the service and the preperation of the food up to par with more established locations. I got Lemon Chicken with broccoli and the broccoli was raw, not even steamed. I think the staff is not seasoned and they just need more experience under their belt. Was there on friday June 22, 2018 around 7:30 PM. We sat down to a dirty table the waitress told us it was sticky, yet there was food all over the table. She came back w drinks and said here is the rag to wash the table. She expected us to wipe it ourselves. We got up left and went to cracker barrel next door. We wntto this restaurant 8/12/2011. I ordered the salmon and it was signficantly overcooked and was inedible.The baked potato came with sour cream and butter, however I did not get the sour cream. I asked for it from two different waitresses and never received it. The other meals were also very poorly prepared. I do not understand why people go to Bob Evans. Their meals are on par with banquet frozen dinners. For the money they charge, people could go to much better restaurants with better food. read more

While it's not my favorite choice, as I prefer Allisons down the street or Southside on the other end of town, Our bob Evans, (or Bob's, as my friends call it) is decent. My favorite things are their crepes, strawberry lemonade (usually around summer) & the turkey knife and fork sandwich. Wait times aren't the greatest, but id say average for this area. Avoid coming Sunday if you don't have a lot of time. There's also free wifi if relevant & never seen a dirty bathroom here. I am not the biggest fan of the parking &how getting in and out is hard when traffic is heavy. Solid choice if you're around, and they're open every day while other places aren't. read more

I usually take my elderly in-laws to Ruby Tuesday once at week, but today we decided to visit Bob Evans. We were seated right away and our drink order was taken soon after, but after she brought our drinks, it took awhile for the waitress to come back for our order. The food didn't take too long, but it was plopped down on the table by either another waitress or a cook and wasn't complete. She took off and I called after her to ask if our waitress would be coming over. She told us our waitress would be out to check on us. So, there we sat with our food but no eating utensils, no bread or butter, no condiments, and no waitress in sight. I went to the waitress station and fetched silverware, jelly and Tabasco, but couldn't find any butter. Our waitress finally came back around and asked how our food tasted. I explained that I was able to find some of the things we needed but we were still waiting on bread and butter. She dropped off our bread and butter, then our check and we didn't see her again.
