I live in Burbank, and this place is convenient, but definitely not the best. With that said, I come here at least 1-2x a month since it is close. The Boba itself has been inconsistent. Sometimes warm and soft, other times hard and undercooked it seems. Not sure why there is such a varying degree of difference, especially when I come in the evening and the place has 6-7 people in line and a relatively fast turnover. The drinks themselves are okay. My go to beverage is the Thai Tea. Good flavor, not too sweet for my liking. The milk tea is also okay. I got the peach juicy drink once and it was full of flavor, but tasted very very sugary. Be aware that if you use a credit card and have not met the minimum (I think it is $10), then there is a service charge of something like 50cents on top of the drink. Making a large drink at $4.75 more than a $5 drink. And yes, there is no AC in here, just really large and loud fans blowing around the stuffy air. Overall, it is fair if you want a Boba drink in the Burbank village, but I have definitely had better, but unfortunately, it is located either in Arcadia or on the West side. read more

If I could give zero stars I most definitely would. Burbank is so devoid of good boba that it really saddens me whenever I give them a shot because it's like a game of "I told you so". The store wasn't really busy yet even while standing on the register with someone clearly there I wasn't even given a nod to say I'll be right with you. I ordered a staple Passion Fruit Green Tea and it came out as if I got more syrup than I did tea. Eugh. I literally dumped out half of the tea and poured in water and it was still too sweet. Love this place! All time favorite boba drink is the "thai tea". This place is down my block from my house so it's super close. My usual boba place when I am in Burbank. They have a great selection and I only usually get thai, taro slushes and other times coconut. What I do not like is...I don't mean to sound cheap or anything but sometimes a quarter goes a long way when your using plastic. Don't really get anything here besides drinks so I don't know what else to recommend besides the drinks. read more

Gone a couple of times and each time I wasn't happy with the service. The first time they messed up my order and added boba when I specifically asked for none. When I politely told them I asked for no boba, they asked if I would drink it anyways. Ummm no, I don't like boba. They remade my drink but reluctantly. They have just about every flavor that typical boba shops have, including these new exploding boba filled with juice. Stopped by today on a whim because I work down the street and was excited to see there was a Boba Loca nearby. I love Boba Loca. I really do love Boba Loca. There is one in Fullerton that my brother and I go to fairly often and the tea is always delicious. But this is probably the worst one I've been to yet. I ordered a thai tea with boba and a turkey sandwich. Thai tea was wayyyyyyyyy too bitter tasting. Even when the ice melted and it watered down, definitely didn't taste like the thai teas I am used to, both in actual thai restaurants and other Boba Loca/boba places. I literally made a "mleh" face. The turkey sandwich tasted like crap. Straight up, the bread tasted stale as hell and they definitely overdid it on the mayo. I almost wanted to ask them if they would put some more sandwich in my mayo. $10 down the drain. Never again. I'll stick to my normal lunchtime eateries and leave this boba loca alone for all the bro types (TAPOUT shirts, goatees, shitty sunglasses and all) that seem to congregate there. read more

The place is small, but I've never seen it uncomfortably packed. I've seen lengthy lines, but since the place has such interesting decor you are entertained the whole time reading/ looking at all the stuff on the wall while waiting for your order. I've never come to eat, but I've come here with a couple of people at different times and no one has ever complained about the boba. I'm not a fan of high-top tables so it can get uncomfortable after awhile, but overall it's a nice little place to hang out at. My recommendation: Honeydew Milk Tea = WIN every time! read more

Boba Loca has us Burbankites over a barrel because there aren't any other boba tea places (that I know of) in the area and I cannot function without lavender milk tea. I also cannot EVER go back to this place. It's filthy inside. Stains all over the floor and counter tops. The front area with the register and menu is just a disaster. It's so unprofessional. Speaking of which, their burnt out pothead servers and their gaggle of friends (who are always different but ALWAYS there) are just a nightmare. It takes the poor burn outs sooo long to take down the order and then ever longer to prepare it...oh and did I mention the fun game of "did they get the order right this time?" My friend specifically asked for no boba at all - she realized it was a strange request so she made it CRYSTAL clear.....totally filled with boba. They should really think about putting a door up in the back so we can't see into their truly repulsive kitchen area which is totally covered in filth and rot. I was immediately turned off by this strange reason. Their boba isn't anything out of the ordinary anyway! There are so many good things to be said about Boba Loca. The staff is so friendly. The manager always manages to put a smile on my face and the guy at the front always has the best recommendations. If you aren't in the mood for boba, they also have some bakery goods like cookies, warm pretzels, and churros. I personally recommend the Thai Tea. Cute little place on San Fernando, I found this place on yelp so was excited to try the boba. The girl working was very helpful in helping me decide which tea I wanted as there is a HUGE selection, I was offered a sample to try which was nice before I made my decision. Definitely wont be coming back here. While in Burbank for a conference, my friends and I went out to dinner and passed by this little boba shop. After dinner, we decided to drop in because of the funnel cake sign outside. What could be better then tea and funnel cake? Almost anything else if you go here. The funnel cake was dense, not light and fluffy like funnel cake should be. It also tasted like the oil they used was rancid. Not a fan of the boba but the drink flavors are good. I get a little less sweet since taro and Thai are sweet ! I had a lengthy discussion with the owner today about how they prepare the boba. If you're looking for honey boba, it's apparently the copious amounts of brown sugar that's added that penetrates to boba and makes it sweet, and not the honey itself. As you go to different boba loca locations, this sugar content in the preparation will vary. The owner mentioned he's thinking of offering two versions : one honey boba and one regular . Side note: apparently ABC news did a piece on them and the health department dropped by (the topic which was unbeknownst to him) inquiring about their boba preparation because some places use so much sugar that it's a health hazard! Safe to say that this location is healthy in that respect :) so if you're looking for that "honey" boba, it's not here - yet. read more

There is something about this place that always makes me a little uncomfortable. Maybe it's the high school crowd that hangs out there. Maybe it's the lack of comfortable seats. Maybe it's the uninviting menu on the wall. Maybe it's the other customers staring at you from the side couch as you place your order. Well, whatever it is, the only reason I go there every once in awhile is because it's the only Boba place that I know of in Burbank. I usually get the same thing: taro slushie with boba. The tapioca balls are very soft and chewy, but they get frozen and hard if you don't drink it all right away. They also have two flavors of frozen yogurt: original and the flavor of the month (it varies from peach, raspberry, blueberry, etc.). But now that Yogurtiers and Top of the Swirl have popped up not far away, I'm sure their yogurt business has declined a bit. They also sell some desserts (cheesecake, carrotcake, muffins, etc.), cookies, churros, and stuffed pretzels, though I haven't tried them. After attending A Night of Chinese Splendor at Hollywood Bowl Saturday night, I was craving some milk tea. Where I was staying didn't have many options open that late so I was defaulted here. This location is nearby the Burbank Town Center with metered parking so it can be difficult to find parking (unless you're coming here late at night like I did). There's wi-fi and even one computer available for use. Walking in, the lighting is fairly dim, making the atmosphere feel like it's a bit grimy and dingy. Not particularly a good impression. Our Order Large Taro Milk Tea: $4.75 + $0.50 pudding Large Jasmine Milk Tea:$4.75 + $0.50 pudding I was supposed to have the Jasmine Milk Tea with pudding, but I had no pudding in it even though I paid extra for it! Instead, there were bits of what tasted like mung bean. My friend had the Taro Milk Tea with pudding (which he got) but the pudding literally tasted like they put Jello pudding at the bottom with bits of the mung bean. What the heck?! Both drinks were very watered down as well. =/ The next morning, I woke up feeling horrible. Since I had the milk tea right before going to bed (and my sister's boss also had gotten sick when she went here), I'm attributing my nauseousness to the milk tea. Highly do NOT recommended. Boba Loca is conveniently located in the heart of Burbank, just a hop away from the AMCs. Their drink menu is not that extensive, nor are they very descriptive. I ordered a peach tea boba expecting a black tea with a hint of peach flavor. Instead I got a super-sweet, syrupy, tart mess... not a lot of ice came along with the cup to soften the blow. Despite the horrid tea, the boba pearls were nice and chewy, cooked all the way through. In fact, they were so good that I braved the sweet mess to bask in their heavenly chewiness. Not specified in their menu, you can also order their regular teas with boba - such as a jasmine tea... much more subtle alternative to what I ordered. I ordered a large tapioca milk with boba. It was good. Hubby got green tea with coconut and boba and that was even more yum! They charge $0.25 for credit card transactions under ten bucks. I don't like it when businesses do that. People can pin up thier art on the wall. There's a lot of good stuff up there. Parking is either street or public parking lots nearby. Would not recommend this place at all. Extremely poor customer service. Google Maps states the business opens at 10AM and so arriving at 10:40AM with the door unlocked I walked in. I yelled "hello" as nobody was visible upon entered. A gentleman said the boba wasn't ready and they opened at 11AM. Since I had already driven over here, I asked how much longer till the boba would be ready (I'd patiently wait). He looked back at the clock and said 11AM. I said oh, so you're going to make me wait until the time you said the store opens and asked for his name to write a review. He said the reason he wouldn't give it to me is because I told him I'd be writing a review. Long story short, poor customer service, the store isn't interested in making money, and the guy is extremely rude. Went on 12/18/2021. Standard boba place. My friends and I got here about an hour before closing. The parking was kinda bad but easy to find because it was 11pm. The place is easy to find with their sign out front. It reminded me of the asian boba shops when boba and milk tea drinks first became a trend. The place looks pretty old, i say this cuz some of their stuff looks like it's been discolored by the sun. They serve to go drinks in plastic cups with the plastic film across the top. The place is pretty small but cozy. They have this really cool wall of art right by the cash register. The employees seemed pretty chill. They didn't mind that we were there 15 before closing, and they wern't trying to rush us out which was cool of them. I come to this area once per week for an appointment and make a point to go to Boba Loca. The service is attentive, the tea flavorful, and the options are plentiful. My go to is the chai milk tea with almond milk- they have a few other non-dairy options like soy and coconut as well- with lychee jellies. The chai actually tastes like cinnamon and other spices! Some positive reviews here, I cannot review their coffee, tea drinks, or their sandwiches, but their namesake...well let's just say they should consider NOT serving boba, EVER. I took my cousins out here after lunch to get boba. They don't live anywhere with good boba and he wanted some. Since we were in the area we walked over and ordered stuff. Price wise it's decent enough. Three drinks with boba for about $12, which is pretty typical. The place looks decent enough for sitting and drinking coffee, but some of the artwork is distracting. i don't know if it was the heat of the day, but some of the customer sketches made me angry, BUT this is not something that should be considered when making a review, which I didn't for the star rating. The information was just there for those of you who do not like customer art. The drinks came out pretty fast, and my cousins were drinking their drink, and I took a sip of my drink. Immediately, I knew that this was not something I wanted to continue doing. Instead of the chewy, sweet boba you expect, It seemed like they put in the gunk leftover from where good boba places stored their boba. After putting my drink down, I ordered my cousins to get rid of their drinks and get in the car. Then I took them to a boba place in Pasadena so that they would not have a bad association with such a wonderful thing. Totally worth it. Oh Boba, how i love you so... I really do LOVE this place. Service is always fast, and they're super friendly! I love how there's always fun and new cartoons and pictures people have drawn all over the walls (makes the vibe so fun and unique). You can lounge on the comfy (but old) couches, or play a game of dominos at the bars tables. Even though this place is always stuffy and I get this really weird vibe whenever I come in, I power through it because the boba here is really good. I've only gotten a couple different kind of drinks but they're usually really consistent with them so I don't complain.
