Boba Square is my very FAVORITE Boba place, it's definitely not the closest to where I live but well worth the drive. They use more natural ingredients, so their drinks aren't super sugary and unhealthy, which is very important to me. Everyone who works there is courteous and friendly! Came in at about 8PM and there were only a couple people in the store. Me and my friends ordered a couple of drinks and the service was quick. I ordered the peach lychee ice tea with lychee jelly. The tea was extremely refreshing and I loved that there were bits of peach and lychee at the bottom of the drink. Would recommend this place if you're looking for something refreshing. Two things I'm curious about for next time are the brown sugar boba tea and the popcorn chicken. Both looked good and can't wait to try it! read more

Refreshing boba drinks! :) I got the Lychee Iced Tea with boba and it was really tasty! The best part of the drink is the lychee bits which gives it the added fruit flavor. We also got Peach Strawberry Iced Tea and it also had fresh fruit bits! The only downside is that the boba is a bit on the harder side. So if you like softer boba, this place might not be for you. We didn't have to wait too long for our drinks. The shop was kind of small and had limited seating, but very cute and had some games for you to play with. Overall, a decent boba shop. Nice boba shop. You get 50% sweet, and it is still pretty sweet. Their popcorn chicken isn't too greasy, and it is crispy. Tastes healthy, actually. The fries are a hit or miss. The first time I got fries, they were underwhelming, but then this time, it was crispy and fresh. Staff is nice. There is a bench style table seating. They have toys and board games for patrons. If you spend $24 or more, they let you spin their rewards wheel that has freebies like free snacks, drinks, or gift card. They take mobile pay and use Square for rewards, except they don't know how to fix it when you don't put your number in before paying for your order. It's a bit silly that they can not apply your purchase after the fact. It's unacceptable, especially if you go often and spend over $30 bucks. That's a lot of points potential. Oh well. Please don't forget to put in your phone number because they won't remind you to!! I wanted to put 4 stars, but they need to get better, so 3 allows much room for improvement. I rarely write bad reviews, but this place definitely deserves zero stars. While we were in the plaza, we decided to give this place a try. We ordered the simplest drinks possible, yet both drinks shocked us. One of the drinks tasted like soap--it had a detergent smell, and now my car smells like detergent. Who allows detergent in a drink? The second drink, which was the black sugar milk boba, caused me to go to the restroom five times so far. I had seen boba square a few times and I got curious due to me seeing a line form from time to time throughout the days. After sometime, myself and my partner decided that we'll give that place a shot. The store is very bright on the inside, mostly white, and you have wooden benches and tables spread out throughout the store. There's even a wall with some LED lights and plants (I'm pretty sure they're fake but they look good) for you or a friend to take a cute photo/have a photo op! You have the option of either placing your order with a staff member or using the smart tablet. My partner and I were a little confused due to the amount of options and modifications you can make to your drink, but after some time we were able to figure it out and place our orders. It didn't take too long for us to get our drinks and to be completely honest, I was floored by the sizing. I thought I ordered a regular, and even my receipt said I did, so when the staff member gave me a large cup I thought it might've been a mistake. My partner also got the same size, a regular, but was handed the same size cup as mine; so, I knew for sure it wasn't a generous mistake. We also ordered some macaroons and those were the first things the staff members handed off to us. When it was time to try our drinks and the sweets I was surprised by the quality! The drinks weren't too sweet and the flavor wasn't watered down. I got the signature matcha and my partner got a play on a cookies and cream milkshake--without the ice cream of course--and we both loved it! The macaroons were delicious and prepared just right. I'm not sure if they prepare them in house or not but if they do, props to the pastry chef. I ordered two fruit teas for me and my friend here on a weekend night! I ordered a Peachy Berry Fruit tea at 50% sweet with no ice, and unfortunately my drink tasted really strange. I couldn't really taste the tea, and the fruit part of the drink tasted so artificial that it was a little plasticky. (I'm normally ok with drinks tasting a little artificial usually, especially for some fruit syrups!) Service is good, the inside is cute and spacious, and there are several games that you can play though. I settled on Boba Square because it had all the basics. The store itself is pretty small tucked away at the end of a shopping center. There was plenty of parking and I was able to score a spot right in front of the store. There was no one in the store when I came in, so I was able to order right away. I settled on my usual oolong tea with boba and jelly. They had different types of jelly and I settle on the rainbow jelly. The employees were very nice and I was able to get my drink pretty quickly. The tea itself was pretty good not overly strong and not overly brewed. My only small complaint was that the boba (also cooked pretty well) was a little flavorless and same for the jellly. But, I thought that the drink was pretty tasty overall. I would definitely come back here for another drink. Nice employees, quick service, and decent drinks. read more

Our go-to boba spot used to be Ding Tea but we've moved to the other side of Irvine and we're so glad we have found BS. Their popcorn chicken is soooo good!! Dare I say even better than Tastea's.
