The tea was great but unfortunately the service was not. I ordered two drinks, on for myself and one for a friend. Mine was a Honey Milk Tea with Boba and 50% sugar. It was perfectly sweet and flavorful and refreshing! Would definitely re-order. The issue: I ordered mine iced and my friends' hot. They gave me two iced drinks. When I asked why they were both cold when I ordered one hot, the lady said "you did not order a hot drink. You ordered both iced. You have to pay for another. I cannot re-make when you ordered wrong." :0 I normally don't argue unless I know I'm right, and I know I ordered one hot drink because I was reading her the order from a text message. If the drinks were cheap I would have paid for another. But you're talking about $5/$6 each - that's a lot considering it probably cost them $0.30 to make. She even told me that she couldn't just give me another because of management, yet when I told my co-workers who go here all the time about it, they told me she is the owner! Wow. I believe the customer is always right...and it would have been nothing for her to re-make the drink and gain a new customer. My mango black tea with mango topping was absolutely delicious, and the employees were so nice and accommodating to any request. While it's a little pricier than my usual boba place, it's worth it. I love the customization options at this place. There have been many times that I asked for a milk tea with zero sugar and it tastes anything but sugarless. I ordered the black milk tea with lychee jelly, which was bomb. I sucked that down and then got plain black tea with pearls which was also very good. The tea was freshly brewed and not watered down. Cindy is awesome!!! This is the first milk tea shop that I will always return to! The drinks here are so refreshing and at a great spot and I have not had any issues with my drinks whatsoever. What I appreciate the most is that Cindy was very patient and helpful to my questions as there were tea drinks on the menu that I was not aware so I was curious about the distinct flavors. Even though there were people in line she was very patient and identified what the assortment of drinks are in detail. I appreciate that so much! I can see that her shop really cares what they put in their drink and not the sale, it's the craft along with their openness and honesty which will have me returning to their milk tea shop. Chatime is a cute little boba place in the middle of downtown redwood city. It's super convenient to those taking caltrain!!! (2 minute walk!) so far I've tried the roasted milk tea with 100% sweetness and pearls. while it is a milk tea, the milk is very subtle and not too sweet! It's definitely a refreshing drink! The first time I've ever tried Chatime was in Foster City, and I was instantly blown away. However, visits there were few and far between because Foster City isn't nearby where I live. A couple months ago, I went to my favorite Chinese restaurant in downtown Redwood City and received a flyer saying that a Chatime location was opening up a couple blocks away. Needless to say, I instantly dragged my boyfriend to this location and we got a couple of drinks, and a free shopping bag from one of the workers because it was their grand opening. This location is equally as awesome as their Foster City sister location. Their boba is firm and chewy and they give you enough to fill half your cup. Their teas are high quality and brewed to perfection. Also, they finally have stamp cards here so if you purchase 10 drinks (which I will definitely do) they'll give you 1 drink for free. My nephew wanted only ice and lychee jelly. They wouldn't allow it unless I ordered a drink, okay fine. I specifically told her half a cup of ice with the jelly, this is what my nephew wanted. She gave me 2 separate cups, one with ice and one with jelly. My nephew started to have a fit Bc they got it wrong so I asked for just 2 empty plastic cups and she said she has to charge me 25 cents. Storefront is situated in front of Courthouse Square. They have a covered patio with and ample outdoor seating. The boba was decent, but I've definitely had better, and at a cheaper price too! $3.50 is pretty expensive for a single boba drink... I would be able to justify a much better rating if the boba was a dollar cheaper. Otherwise it's not bad, and it's nice to have a place in the middle of downtown! It does taste a lot better than generic boba places like Quickly's though. The milk tea was just a little too sweet for my taste, and the boba was a little overcooked, but I'd try it again! Woman at the register was rude. Came in and ordered 7 drinks. I actually ordered 6 and then added one at the end. If they're menu options weren't so complicated, we wouldn't have an issue with complex orders. But they give too many options. They screwed up one order and then rolled their eyes when I said I needed to add another order. Their drinks are not unique nor is it any better than tpumps or share tea so I wouldn't roll my eyes at extra revenue. I ordered a brown rice milk tea at 30%ice and 70% sweet. It had potential but was totally watered down. Wasn't really worth the calories. My DH ordered a roasted milk tea which is probably a better option. Go for that if you order. read more

Tiny little tea shop, with an absolutely massive variety of drinks. Every time we are in downtown Redwood City we always make a point to come here. A couple of my friends tried a couple different teas, and they were all very tasty. I am as boring as it gets, and I get just your standard milk tea with tapioca pearls. Other members of our party got the Matcha Green Tea, and Mango tea. While I was not a fan, they seemed to like their selections quite a bit. Loved the hot taro milk tea with boba & red beans, 30% sweet. They also use non dairy creamer for their boba teas. If I did not add the red bean, I would have preferred 50% sweetness. However, it was a nice mix of sweet & savory with the taro & red beans. It was also decaffeinated which is great since it was already late afternoon. Unfortunately, they do not have non dairy for the avocado smoothie but the taro tea made up for it. Although I ordered a hot tea, I like how they have different options for the amount of ice you would like added to your tea. It's great that you can customize it to your liking. The cashier was very patient and nice. I started off with a bunch of questions with all my disarray restrictions but he was patient & very helpful. I'll certainly be back to try the other flavors! Best boba in Redwood City. Dunno if that's saying a whole lot (considering the only two other boba places I've seen are Quickly and apparently Happy Donut). It's so great to have this place within walking distance from where I live. I love their Pearl Milk Tea. I've also had their Passion Fruit Green Tea.
