This boba spot is super cute! As a dog person, I love their logo. The interior wall gave me Hoi An, Vietnam feels - lovely. It's instagrammable and a cute place to hang out. The staff are friendly with good service (I appreciate that). I ordered a Jasmine Green Milk Tea with Boba 70% sugar and regular ice. I loved my drink the first time! The sweetness with the boba was perfect to my liking. The boba was chewy and yummy. The tea tasted fresh and the ice level was perfect. My friend ordered a BobaPop Milk Tea regular sugar and ice. I got to try a few sips and I was not a fan. There was a strong floral aftertaste. Also, the ice levels were inconsistent (as shown in photos). We both got regular ice, but one drink had noticeably more ice than the other. I am unsure of how to order the ice level the next times. But if that could be more consistent, this place would be a solid 4 stars in my book! My 2nd time, I ordered the same thing. Jasmine Green Milk Tea with Boba 70% sugar and regular ice. I don't know what it was, but it tasted different this time, and it looked like a "less ice" order. Again, I am unsure of how to order the ice level. I enjoy my drink to be icy cold throughout, but not stacked with ice like the photo. Overall, I think if the drinks are more consistent, that would be extra awesome. This is a great place to meet up with friends. Lots of tables and chairs and a good high energy ambiance that makes grabbing a beverage and kicking back with friends really nice. The prices of the teas is very reasonable, $4.50 for a large signature milk tea. I had the roasted oolong milk tea with brown sugar crystal boba, and it was very good. All of the teas are fresh brewed, not from a powder mix. Five stars! read more

My advice: Avoid this place if you are looking for quality tea and boba. Their lantern wall is good for Insta pics if that's what you are looking for. We ordered a matcha milk tea with brown sugar pearl (70% sweet, regular ice) and a flower green tea with milk foam (regular sweet & ice). Both were beyond disappointing. The matcha drink tasted extremely watered down with not a hint of matcha. The "pearls" were not regular boba but had a strange slightly crunchy texture. The flower tea must be just green tea as no other flavor was in the drink. The milk "foam" is lumpy and overly salty. The only saving grace of this drink is the nice matcha decor on top of the drink. Service was slow even when there were only a few customers in the shop. The shop was very hot in the afternoon, felt like a sauna. The whole experience was disappointing overall, and we won't be coming back. Not recommended. read more

This place has pretty good tea, so far impressed. The main reason why I gave it a 4 star review instead of 5 star is due to the fact that customer service could be a lot better. Regardless besides that little attitude problem. Everything is perfect! The young man blond hair (I didn't catch his name) he did a very excellent job in providing assistance and being courteous. If it wasn't for him I would've given 3 stars over all, not sure of the female employees but there was 2 of them that seemed very unhappy to be there, it's okay to dislike your job but if it's with customer service I strongly recommend to hide it. Personally I used to work retail, food, dealerships, door to door sales and a couple more jobs but trust me when I say, people dislike unhappy people. I visit this place literally the same time I posted this review. I will be giving it 5 stars over all due to the fact that the owner stepped in and communicated with me and seem very professional. The store is beautifully decorated and the atmosphere is nice to sit down and study. You can also borrow games from the shop to play. We ordered a mango green tea with cheese foam and Oreo mint tea. The mango green tea was good but not anything special - their cheese foam didn't taste either sweet or salty... it just added creaminess. The plus side is that they added mango pieces. The Oreo mint tea had just a sprinkle of Oreo on top of a random foam and a small mint leaf. We kind of expected there to be a chocolate or at the very least a minty flavor but it tasted like a very bland milk tea; it could've been because we asked for half sugar but there was no flavor at all. It's also kind of pricey at 10+ dollars for two regular drinks with one 75 cent topping :-( Besides the decor and seating, their other redeeming factor is their cute cups with a picture of a dog. The moment when you walk in you are surrounded with wonderful decorations and cute lantern. I'm a regular customer at this place since I love their chewy boba and roasted oolong milk tea. I remember the girl who always made my drink and it taste so good. However, yesterday when I got my roasted oolong milk tea with Boba, 30% sugar, and no ice. There is no flavor and the tea taste so bland like straight up cold brew coffee that I literally have to throw my drink away after a few sips. I felt disappointed because the guy made my drink this time. Due to the inconsistency and my bad experience I won't come back here again. I rather go back to my 7 leaves where the tea taste amazing even with adjustment of sugar. There are more better quality Boba shops out there that have great consistency. read more

Growing up in the 626 area I have this constant craving of tacos and milk tea. My go-to taco spot is literally right across the street from here so after staring at this place for a couple of months while I waited for my tacos I finally decided to give it a try. Walking in the location is doing a great job with sanitary and safety. All employees were properly wearing masks and gloves. I saw them cleaning the counters constantly. And all chairs were put up. The next thing your eyes immediately notice is the extra cute lantern wall. Very adorable for your drink pictures. Nathan was taking our orders at our register and had the coolest name tag id ever seen! He was also an all-around friendly guy that welcomed any questions about the menu. I ordered the classic black tea milk foam tea with sea salt sprinkled. As someone with a ridiculous amount of food allergies/sensitivities, I can't stress how important it is for restaurants to list out all the ingredients in their menus even if its a sprinkle top. Once I received the drink I noticed they sprinkle matcha powder on top in the shape of a bear. Very cute for decoration and I'm sure the average person would be excited to see this, except for me it makes me break out in hives if I have too much of it. I explained this to the barista and asked if she would not mind just scooping the top layer off and just adding more foam. I know the liability restaurants have when they hear someone has a food allergy so I was not surprised when she decided to make a new one instead. However, when I received my drink the barista asked if next time I could please read the menu correctly so they do not have to remake drinks. Except for plot twist, it's not written on the menu. Although the single interaction with the barista was not the best the drink was absolutely amazing! It was creamy and not overly sweet yet you could still taste the black tea! Besides the barista, all the other staff was friendly and inviting and the place is absolutely cute! The decor here is nice. And the employee was nice, but the options here are extremely limited. All the milk teas use creamer powders, not real milk. And they only have cow milk. And you can only use real milk in lattes, but all of those are sweet and have syrup, and you cannot get it without syrup. And a lot of the drinks you can only get cold. read more

Order 4 Dong Pian Tea at 4 different times and got 4 different taste. First time, tase it's so good, it almost like the tea that I usually drink in my country. I though I might find my fovorite drink at Bobapop. The second, tea tasted so slightly, not like the first time. And it seem had another taste in there? Did you guy made all premium tea in one machine? The third time, it was completely different, dont have any taste like first time and it's so bitter. Very disapointed. We shrugged it off and figured hey might be worth it! 4:38 comes and five order ahead of us some with groups of three and more were getting their drinks... i wait until another number is called and ask the cashier about it the boba pop and pistachio latte... mysteriously only one drink was made... he looked around had no clue and then I just told him it was the boba pop. I ask them why don't you make it a large for the wait no response just silence from the whole staff. Bad customer service and outright theft. Would like to see if other have experienced the same. Came to this bobapop first time last week. I asked one of the workers there for their most popular drink and they recommended the oreo mint. It's basically the jasmine green tea with milk foam, oreo crumbs and a leaf of mint on top. The tea tastes fresh, milk foam is pretty similar to salted cream but not salty at all. However I wish they could add a little bit of sweetness or flavor in the milk foam. It's kinda bland to me for some reasons. Overall I like the open space and their decoration. read more

If you order online, you have to pay a fee. You can also order in person! The workers were fast and friendly and helped us out. I ended up choosing a new item- the winter melon mt. Their boba is sweet and perfectly cooked but the drink was suuper sweet. The winter melon was definitely there but I would recommend 50% sweetness or less. I tried their flower gmt with crystal pearls pre-covid and it was sososo yummy. I think I'll skip on the crystal pearls next time. They're slightly hard jelly with a light flavor but I just prefer black pearls. 10/10 read more

More like 3.5 stars but rounded up! TLDR version: came before closing on a weeknight, it was packed, had to wait 40 min for my two drinks & the drinks were incredibly, extremely, massively sweet. Even 30% sweetness was almost too sweet & I normally get 100% sweetness from most places. Nice employees, cute atmosphere, boba itself was delicious! I drove to BoBaPOP from LA one night & got there about 45 min before closing thinking it would be empty since it was a weeknight & late... boy was I wrong. It was absolutely packed. The cashier told me the wait would be 10-15 min which was totally fine but it ended up taking about 40 minutes to get my two drinks. If I had known that at the beginning I would never have ordered just because I love boba as much as the next person, but I'm not gonna wait close to an hour for it. So do be aware wait times even during Covid & even during weeknights are very very long. I noticed people that came in a few minutes before closing were able to get their drinks so much quicker so maybe the key is to get there when they open or right before they close to avoid the line? I got two brown sugar tiger milk teas (or brown sugar lattes) & asked how sweet they were. I go to Kung Fu Tea & Chun Feng Sugar & have never made adjustments to the sweetness levels so I thought I loved sweet drinks. However I got a tiger milk drink from Its Boba Time at regular sweetness & I actually spit it out. It was the sweetest thing I've ever tasted in my life, it was unbearable. Since then I've always asked just to see because apparently some boba places take sweetness to the next level like instant diabetes level lol. The cashier was very nice & told me to get it at 30% if I was worried. I thought that seemed so low but I agreed & got regular sweetness for my friend since that's what she wanted. Thank god for that cashier because even at 30% sweetness it was almost too much! It tasted like the 100% sweetened drinks I get at other places! My friend could barely drink hers because of how sweet it was at regular sweetness & let me try it & gooooooodness gracious lol it was wildly sweet. I have no idea how people actually tolerate it & I LOVE sweet stuff. It's like boba drinkers have evolved to a higher sugar tolerance than normal humans lol. I felt bad because she ended up throwing hers out, but at least we know for next time! While I wouldn't go out of my way again to go here, it wasn't necessarily a bad experience. The interior was very cute, the employees were very nice & working so hard to keep up with the chaos they had to deal with, & my drink was good - granted you need to get almost no sweetness level to be able to drink it. Probably my favorite place to get milk tea in the sgv. Jasmine milk tea is my drink of choice and it is always perfectly floral and creamy. I tried the flower green tea and that was also delicious! Boba is qq and deliciously sweet so I like to get my drinks 30% sweet. The real star are the flavored puddings. For me, I usually have a hard time deciding between herbal jelly or egg pudding. Here they have combined the two and made herbal pudding! Genius! The parking lot is small but we've never had an issue finding parking. Employees are super friendly as well! read more
