I really give props to them for making their own boba. However, I think I set my expectations up a bit too high. The first time I came to try it, they were unexpectedly closed on a Friday. Luckily they were open and had boba during this second visit! I tried the HK milk tea since it seemed really popular based on the Yelp reviews, but the taste was definitely.. off? I'm not sure if it's the tea leaves, the sweetener, or it being over-brewed? It tasted kind of like a tootsie roll. I love HK milk tea because of the strong black tea taste, but this one missed the mark. As for the boba, I really liked the texture, but it did have a light aftertaste (maybe cornstarch?). We were surprised to see that they raised the price from 60 cents to 75 cents for boba. i was in the mood for boba and decided to try out this shop and i was extremely disappointed with what i tasted! this was genuinely by far the worst boba i've had in my life. i got the classic milk tea with tapioca and almond milk and it tasted so bland! the drink had no flavor as well as the tapioca. the tapioca was VERY soft and chewy (and not in a good way). would not recommend getting this drink if you're looking for something sweet. read more

So it's good. But not THE BEST boba in SF, the boba is firm but chewy, cooked well. I got the oolong tea but it tasted like chocolate, not like tea. I'll definitely come back because it's close and I want to try their lychee drink. I would encourage the manager to speak with the workers to be more confident and act more professional, as they seemed sort of timid and took away from what could have been a more impressive experience. All in all though, it's a decent boba shop! Oh, and one more thing-- I think aesthetically the store could use some more decor, it was minimalist but borderline boring. Bobaville has unique boba that is not black colored boba but is clear because it is housemade. The taste of the boba isn't too sweet and the texture is very chewy. To me, the texture is close to rice cake. If you're looking for sweet honey boba, then this place isn't it. The drink I ordered was mango matcha. It was really good mainly because both flavors were balanced out and I could taste both. The mango wasn't overbearing. The only negative I could think of is the price. My drink was about $6 and for a large would be $7. Also, they're selection isn't a lot but they do have quality over quantity. Overall, I recommend this place! read more

I had the green tea with soy, less sweet, boba. -Boba. Really good! A little soft but very chewy. Much smoother texture than most places -Green tea. I really like it. Sort of had a mild floral flavor... or maybe that was from the boba.. -Staff. Friendly. Welcoming to questions. If you go, be ready to invest time. When I got there, there were around 10 people in line and maybe 4 waiting for drinks. It took over half an hour from time I got in line to time my drink was ready... but maybe that's price you pay for housemade boba... or maybe they need more practice to work out the kinks as they have not been open for long. I love the fact that it's contactless. You walk in and put your order in on the computer. I got a Hong Kong w/ Less ice and Boba. The boba had a nice flavor but overly chewy. As far as my Tea, it wasn't a strong flavor. It taste very watered down. Even though it is contactless I waited inside for my drink I made eye contact with a couple employees and they didn't speak. My name was then called and when I went to collect my drink and still wasn't greeted and when I said thank you she just walked away. I'm big on customer service and it wasn't much given! So we came here really excited to try it. As we're walking in 2 other people walked in with us and the male worker decides to stick his hand out and stop us but not the other 2 people from entering the store. Then proceeds to tell us "oh we have to temporarily close the store" with the biggest smile on his face laughing as he forces us out. No reasoning whatsoever and just puts up a closed sign and goes back to allowing everyone else to stay inside and order. We drove all the way over just to be treated with such disrespect that we lost interest in ever coming back. Don't support this business and their shady business practices. If the worker was at least more respectful and even gave a good reason for singling us out while allowing everyone else to go in then maybe I could've forgave them, but instead he chose to be very unprofessional. I wouldn't be surprised if the people he allowed in were his friends. Would give a 0 if possible. Also what boba shop closes at 2 pm? I regret that I have to write this review and prepare for a long story. We've been waiting a long time for a good quality local boba spot. We were tired of having to do crazy things like travel far distances and beyond at random hours just to get a good quality boba drink, but we would. #bobalife. When we saw the sign go up for Bobaville, we waited awhile for this place to open that I even sent them a message on Facebook to see when it would be happening. First off, prior to this experience, we were huge supporters and loyal customers bragging to everyone about this place. We gave them the benefit of the doubt when they have made a not so great drink or two in the past and messed up our orders because we understood they were new, the owner was nice, and we just really wanted to like this place. We even would joke with each other saying the workers there were going to think we had an addiction problem that we ended up going so much when we found a drink that would become our regular, the roasted oolong salted crema. Unfortunately, principle goes a long way with us and we will be taking our business elsewhere. So here the story goes: As we approached the counter today to order, the owner was taking orders. He has even said to us a couple times in the past that it's nice to see us again. This time, before we even placed our order, he instead said, "We're out of our handmade boba today. Sorry, it's been a busy day." We understood but let me just add that we came in the night before to get our regular drinks and they had run out of boba then as well. Although this was disappointing, we figured we would just try to come earlier the next day. So I decided to try the Hong Kong Milk Tea instead since they were out of boba and also ordered the Mango Summer Tea. We paid for our drinks and I realized that I forgot to add agar boba to the Mango Summer Tea so I waited back in line to ask them to add it to my drink. I waited behind perhaps maybe 3 other customers. At first, I thought I overheard the owner and the next customer wrong talking about the handmade boba and the customer ordering at least a couple drinks WITH handmade boba. After the second customer ordered a drink with the handmade boba as well, I was sure I heard right this time because he told this person ahead of me that there was only about a half of scoop left and he anticipates by the time they get to her drink, there would be no more boba left. So when I got to the counter, I clarified with him that he told me when I initially ordered, that there was no more hand made boba but there were at least a few customers behind my order that he gave the boba to. I explained that the only reason why I ordered the Hong Kong Milk Tea and not my regular drink was because he told me he didn't have anymore handmade boba. Without an apology, nothing, he simply proceeded to correct my order to my regular drink with the handmade boba and added the agar boba that I originally was waiting in line again for to correct in which part that was my fault, not his. The fact that he lied to some of his most loyal customers without even apologizing is something we just can't rock with. Moral of the story: Lesson #1 in running any business, take care of your regular, loyal customers because they are the ones that will keep coming back as well as bring their friends with them. I have never felt so disappointed in the disrespect when we've been nothing but understanding and supportive to a small local boba shop that wasn't just another Quickly's in the nearby plaza. Unfortunately, their products will never be good enough to outweigh their terrible customer service, disorganization, and desperate need for better trained staff. Best of luck Bobaville! read more

i have been a regular since day 1 and they never fail to disappoint! its honestly one of the best in the area with quality ingredients and u can definitely tell with just one sip. u can often see workers making their handmade boba during the day which just proves how fresh their boba actually is, it has the right amount of chewiness and bounce. ive tried almost every drink on the menu and my personal favorites are the mango matcha, jasmine milk tea and the avacado smoothie but u can also customize ur own drink if none of the drinks already on the menu float ur boat so no worries abt finding ur personal fav :) they also accept jars and personal cups so they are definitely eco friendly! theres not one bad thing to say abt this place! strongly recommend! read more

I was genuinely excited to have a new boba shop opening in this area as not many local boba shops were around. We arrived at Bobaville around 45 minutes before it closed, it seemed to be around 6-7 people ahead of us, no big deal. We place our order, I ordered a large matcha latte with 75% sweetness and normal ice and my friend ordered a large jasmine milk tea. They told us they ran out of boba but it was not a big deal, so I just settled for the jasmine milk tea. At first we just thought they were busy and were still new so my friend and I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and after 20 minutes people ahead of us were still waiting for their drink, another 20 minutes pass and our drinks are still not ready, we ask what happened to our drinks and they told us it'd be ready soon. It's already been 40 minutes and we were mildly frustrated, but we finally got our drinks after another few more minutes. As we saw them making our drink, they ran out of the jasmine tea, so to fill up the rest of my drink they added more ice, which blew my mind at the sheer amount of ice that constituted the drink. When I finally got to tasting it, the drink was already watered down. The only good thing that came from this experience was the customer service, the owner seemed to be a great guy, but his unprofessionalism and unpreparedness just blew my mind. I usually get the mango matcha and sometimes it tastes like water, sometimes it's perfect, sometimes i feel like i just got diabetes taking a sip. Service is also inconsistent. The girl with purple hair is super rude. It would be nice to get a response when you ask a question instead of getting looked at funny then getting your drink shoved toward you on the counter, lol. Best boba in the area by a wide margin. You can tell it's homemade. Other toppings include homemade black sugar, homemade grass jelly and crema. Their regular milk tea is fantastic and all of the drinks I've had there have been excellent every time. Just a guess here but those complaining about watery drinks may want to ask for no ice. I've never had that problem with any of the drinks here. This is really good stuff. read more
