Even though I consulted with other repair shops, discussed the pricing on yelp last week with this shop and even really looked into why the pricing changed as we were talking, and had diagnostics done with crevier bmw last week (a dealer), they ended up quoting me 3 times what I expected to try to get my front brakes done. They even quoted me 2 times more expensive than the dealer which baffled me. Being someone who is extremely busy and can rarely find one hour between 8am-6pm, I have been researching for two weeks to get my brakes done and how I can get it done. If I had the tools could easily do it myself which makes this even more frustrating. I can't believe this was the outcome of my 2 weeks of trying to get this done once I finally brought it in. They didn't even look at the car and said that 3x the original quote was the price. I was told by dealer and other professionals to get the pads and sensor done not the rotors. read more

Ok, so I very rarely leave reviews on anything, but this was unlike any auto repair shop experience I have ever had. Everyone was so friendly and I had some very enjoyable chats with several of the guys working in the office while waiting on my smog check to be completed. Speaking of which, they took my car as a walk in and I was in and out of there within about 30 min, but it felt like the time flew by. The office is comfortably air conditioned and there are super cozy sofas and chairs to sit and enjoy your complimentary water or coffee - that's keurig coffee btw, not gross mystery coffee from a dispenser serving coffee that was brewed last week. Oh, and they have popcorn!?! I didn't have any, but it was very tempting from the window of that old school movie popcorn popper and it smelled like real movie popcorn. Furthermore, I watched the owner walk over to greet myself and the other customers that came in while I was in the office. And then he did something I couldn't believe after a woman walked in with a stroller. He pulls out a blue balloon and proceeds to blow it up with helium, draws a happy face on it, ties a ribbon to it, and gives it to the little boy! Happiest place on earth is right. Me and my wife came here for a smog test. Although we did not have any repair work done, it was a fantastic experience. We made an appointment and from the time we walked in to the time it was done was only about 10 minutes. This was a Monday afternoon but there were a lot of cars there. They have popcorn, magazines, lollipops and water inside which was cool. The place was very kempt and we felt at home. We don't remember the service manager who helped us but he was very talkative and accepting. Not only was it a great experience, but we got $35 off our smog test since we were first time customers. I just moved to the area, and decided to take a chance with Chapman Auto Repair based on their reviews. I typically like to read the less the 5 Star reviews, to see what people are complaining about. The less then 3 Star reviews seemed to be people who would find a problem with any place they go to. All that to say, I was impressed with the support and care that Chapman provided. I came in with out an appointment and they took me in right away, and changed my break pads, along with an oil change. This places offered free Lyft rides, water, and popcorn. What mechanic does that?? They also gave me a quote for further repair needed, and walked me back and showed me the issues with out me having to ask. I always appreciate when a mechanic shows me the issues and gives me a full understanding of what is going on. If you come in and they don't say hi to you right away, it's because they are busy. Great repair shop, great staff, free shuttle to get home, and they paid for a rental when my repair was going to be longer than the day. I have an issue with my 2015 Ford F-150 engine where the engine oil pressure drops while idling, then goes back up when I accelerate. They tried to get to the bottom of the issue here by replacing some parts, flushing the oil system out, etc, but couldn't fix it. The trucks is going to need a new engine and Ford is refusing to help but hats a whole other issue entirely. Anyhow, chapman didn't charge me for a portion of the repair since it didn't work, and like I said, they paid for a rental vehicle as well. They know how to run a business and I highly recommend them for all your service needs. PS. Don't ever buy a ford! Their bad reputation is well deserved. read more

Just had my car serviced at this shop. I was blown away by the attention to customer service from the moment they pick up the phone (try it, you will get a kick out of it!), to the moment you drive off. This is the 2nd time I bring my car in for repairs. The first time, they installed some tires I bought online, they were the approved installers in the area so I called them up, John the big boss answered and I was greeted with a very personalized and courteous greeting. I spent less than $100 with them that time, and the way they treated me felt like if I had spent thousands of dollars with them. This second time around, the job was a lot bigger and again, exceptional service from everyone at the shop. I have a car that routinely needs servicing/repairs and I have been to many a mechanic in Irvine since that is where I live. Not one of those shops has left the impression that Chapman Auto Repair has left on me as a customer. I took my car to Chapman Auto Repair for the first time, as a recommended mechanic on my Car Max extended warranty list. I had two concerns with my car, unrelated to each other, and though the shop had my car the entire day and was committed to finding the root problems I was concerned about, they were able to confirm that there was nothing wrong with my car. They made a couple of simple suggestions, that worked, but didn't try to sell me repairs that I didn't need. In addition, they provided transportation back to my home and then picked me back up when the car was ready to be picked up. The employees were genuinely pleasant and extremely helpful. Pretty happy I found this shop! It's extremely close to my house, and has blown me away with their service from my first call placed to check pricing for a smog check. It has the friendly atmosphere of a family owned shop (which I believe it is), but the professionalism and comfortable interior of a dealership, complete with popcorn machine, coffee and water bottles. To top it all off, they extended a 1x $25 discount for checking in on Yelp, and assured me a free re-check if my car does not pass the smog check. I was dreading getting my smog done when I woke up this morning, but I am so relieved it is turning out to be such an easy and pleasant experience.
