They got my son's car fixed in a timely manner and even provided a rental car in the interim. Chapman Auto Repair is a really good shop. The owner is extremely nice and funny. I really enjoyed his company. The lobby is clean and beautiful. They were very accommodating and took me in right away even though I didn't have an appointment. They are very honest and tell you what's need to be done on your car right away. Their prices are very reasonable meanwhile they do excellent work and have quality mechanics which make a huge plus. When you're going there, don't be shy about asking for popcorn, and their coffee is fantastic. It's easy to find on Chapman Avenue near Batavia and it's very close to the circle if you want to go and hang out at Starbucks while they're working on the car. They give customer free rides to somewhere close around! If you want to wait in the waiting room, they have very comfortable couches, so you can sit there and watch the owner accommodates other customers, which I figure it's very enjoyable too! Walked into the office man on phone didn't Acknowledge I was there and as I started speaking he gave me an awkward and frustrated look and pointed to his headset on his ear, Not that big of a deal. I then started to speak asking if I could get a smog check and if I could also get my breaks checked or at least thats what I wanted to tell him until he cut me off and said his machine wasn't working and to take a business card and return tomorrow. This is my first time at Chapman Auto Repair. I came in this morning at about 10:30 to get an inspection done and to replace a headlight. Everyone was very nice and open as soon as I walked in, providing a quote with reasonable prices for the headlight fix. After a few hours (around 4 hours since they were backed up with cars) they had finished all the inspection and estimate. John the owner and Gus the mechanic went over everything with me and showed me the parts on my car that needed some work. They didn't pressure me to fix anything right now, but it was very clear what needed to be done and what could wait. They are super helpful and reasonable, even providing a loaner car for the day so I could go to work! Overall, my first impression is they are warm, friendly, knowledgable, and not out to get you. My finances were definitely part of their concern and I appreciated talking with everyone there. I've been to tons of repair shops in my lifetime. This place is hands down the best repair shop experience I have ever had. Such professionals and they are not kidding when they say "nice guys and gals to deal with". The mechanic took tons of time to explain to me what was going on with my truck. The technology that they have in the shop will no doubt work in your favor. I took my truck in for a nearly impossible to detect coolant leak and they were able to find it and fix with no problem where other shops have failed. All I can really say left is try it out for yourself and you'll end up writing a review as well. I almost never post reviews but I feel like the word has to get out about this great experience. I chose this place because people were saying how honest and genuine they were with prices. Coming in to this place by myself, not having much knowledge, I trusted I would be in good hands and that they wouldn't take advantage of my money, but was I wrong. I needed a crank shaft sensor replacement which for a genuine Hyundai is only $30, they charged me $200 and doubled up on the labor. At first, I was verbally told that the part would be$300, and labor would total up to $190, but when it was time to pay up, he said my total was $600? Wait a minute, what? And why wasn't he showing me the receipt and going over the prices with me? I didn't want to make a scene and paid, and received the receipt AFTER(see the attached photo) I called my parents and my friends after that actually are knowledgeable about this and told me I was ripped off. They were extremely offended, but what can I do, I already paid it all. I don't understand how other people have claimed this business is honest and genuine? I took my daughter's car to Chapman Auto Repair of Orange to repair her air conditioner. I knew that the air conditioning system needed a Freon recharge. I was charged for air conditioner dye to check for a leak in the system, even though the dye was never added to the system. The mechanics determined the Schrader valves needed to be replaced without the dye. Her engine was also running a little rough due incorrect functioning of the onboard diagnostic computer. I was charged for "resetting" the onboard computer. The following day, another mechanic confirmed that the onboard diagnostic computer was still offline, so Chapman Auto Repair charged me for a repair that was never performed. Technicians at Chapman are good, but the office managers are too concerned about maintaining daily income quotas. Chapman Auto Repair of Orange is a dishonest, unscrupulous business that will add extra charges to increase their profits at the expense of unknowing customers. If you are not knowledgeable about cars, stay away from this place. Although your car will probably get repaired eventually, Chapman Auto Repair will add unnecessary charges to improve their bottom line. Go to another car repair shop! Crooks. I was in tears by the time I left. For the record, I only come on Yelp to live positive reviews so I have to be really rattled to leave something this awful. Chapman Auto says they guarantee their work for life. They do not. I spent nearly $2000 on a bunch of work. My car was overdue for a tire rotation and alignment so I had them doing ut while the car was there even though it felt OK. When I drove it home, the car was pulling so far to the right I could barely hold it straight enough to drive it home. My boyfriend hd to help me drive it back to Chapman Auto because it was pulling THAT hard! When I brought it back nd told them what was going on. You know what they said? "What do you want us to do about it?" I kid you not. I honestly didn't know how to respond. They explained that my car needed more work and that it would cost me another $1700 nd the would fix it. WHAT? My var wasn't pulling when I dropped it off! I paid you for an alignment and now it's pulling. They huffed and puffed and talked to each other in front of me, "Fine, let'w just refund her money for the alignment if it's not good enough for her". I was in tears at this point. My zen boyfriend then steps in nd tries again. They told him I could leave it here but couldn't promise when they'd get to it. We've been at the window for at least a half hour now. In tears I finally asked, "can someone PLEASE just get in the car with me and drive around the block so at least you know what I'm talking about?". They begrudgingly agreed. One of the guys, my boyfriend nd myself got in the car nd within 1/2 block it was obvious something was wrong with the car. You could see his indignant facial expression immediately change. In less than an hour, they figured out a large nail had punctured the tire while at the station and caused it to misalign the car. For a place that prides themselves s being the "Happiest Place on Earth" and who "Guarantees their Work for Life", it ws without. doubt the worst experience I have ever hd with a mechanic in my life. BTW, I have only left 1 negative feedback on yelp ever so something has to really rattle me to go "negative" like this. Avoid this place at all costs. My car clunked out on me and I had to have it towed for service, My tow truck driver recommended Chapman Auto Repair of Orange and said they are very fair, friendly, and affordable. When we arrived, John (owner) greeted me with a hug and I knew I was at the right shop. He took my car info, and called Uber to take me to work. Later that day Joe (service mgr.) called me and said they couldn't get my new fuel pump until Wed, so they had Uber pick me up from work and take me to Enterprise Car Rental to get me a car for two days (ON THEM). I have NEVER in my 70 years been treated like such a queen. When I arrived to pick up my car, they showed me the broken part, they had washed my car and had it ready for me to drive away. Excellent service! I went in without an appointment to get a Smog check, and I was blown away with how helpful everyone was. Alan took my info and checked me in a matter of minutes. I was there with my daughter and right as she walked in with me they we're already filling up a balloon for her. The smog check was done in no time at all and of corse my car passed. After which Alan informed me that a digital copy had been sent to the DMV. I payed and received the hard copy of the inspection.
