Family was in the mood for BBQ and our local favorite was closed, so gave Bobby Q a try. I wasn't expecting to be impressed, and I wasn't. Maybe an off night, but found the food mediocre. Who loves BBQ at Bobby Q, raise your hands? And the new place over on 32nd Street & Camelback is as inviting as can be! It's smaller/cozier than the original with a antiqued laid up brick interior, a harken back copper drop ceiling, the use of mirrored windows to add the illusion of space and a rather interesting path to the main dining area; you can enter the bar directly to the left from the street (and move to the left around the bar) or enter directly in and through the Waiter's Station. I kinda wished I'd visited the bar area but we went straight through the Waiter's Station back to the main Dining Area. The lighting seems dark but it's actually perfect. So let's get right to the food: we ordered a huge sample platter with 2- kinds of ribs (we got double baby back) 2- BBQ meats (chicken and brisket) and 3- sides (mashed potatoes, mac n cheese and pecan coleslaw) it was a lotta eatin'! The sides were all good but the pecans in the coleslaw was pretty dang tasty! After putting sides on my plate I added nice proportions of the meats. The brisket was fall apart tender, the chicken perfect and the baby backs fell off the bone and disappeared! All the while sipping a Scotch Ale. I forgot to mention the very good round serving of cornbread brought to us with our drinks. I tried hard not to fill up on warm cornbread. Bobby Q is benchmark BBQ here in The Valley! The BBQ was good but not over the top great. The service we had was good and no issues. We ordered our food all BBQ and it arrived at table in less than 5 minutes. Exemplary customer service! I love coming to Bobby Q because as soon as you walk in, you'll know to expect friendly smiling faces. Our server Chet was wonderful and so was Joann (I think she may have been the manager?), she was so kind to every table she passed and attentive to needs. Actually, I was really impressed by her when a customer walked in & with a friendly exuberance she said "Welcome back!" He may have been a regular, but the fact that she showed so much pleasure in seeing customers shows a lot about how this restaurant care about the service they provide. After we were done with our meal, another passing server even offered to clear our plates off the table - another clear indication to me of how this restaurant works as a team. Food was also great, I had the half rack of baby back ribs which came with two sides for $21. If you're not a big eater, you can even share this with another person and be satisfied. Went for my husband's birthday and again we were pleased. We requested Rachel to be our server since we had such a great experience with her the last time we were there and again she was excellent. Definitely service with a smile! The complimentary cornbread is awesome, moist and flaky. We had the ribs and they were tender and fell off the bone. We had our favorite side the coleslaw and tried the roasted corn which was good but felt the corn could have been roasted a little longer. Since it was a birthday celebration we were given a comp'd dessert; the bread pudding a good cinnamon raisin bread with a light creamy topping very moist and so yummy. And of course received a bag of their wonderful hot and delicious cinnamon sugar donuts to take home. read more

Bobby-Q's just one upped themselves!! I didn't think it possible but I like this locations more than any other I have been to. My BFF and I decided to check out this new location not long ago and it was the most adorable place. I'm going to call it a Boutique version of their other 2 restaurants. Something a little more upscale. This locations also offers different craft cocktails, new menu items and an even more gorgeous patio if thats possible. I ended up getting my usual Q-sticks and Mac-n-Cheese because I just cant help myself. Everything was just as tasty as their other locations. Yum!!! 5 stars! My husband and I had previously been to the original location but saw this one was opened closer to us (in place of the previous restaurant, Mexx 32). The BBQ is 100% as consistent as the original location. Fall off the bone ribs, pork and brisket extremely tender. Great service and atmosphere. Our server was kind and attentive (didn't catch his name but we were a table of 5 at around 5pm today in a booth by the bar). He was training another employee.
