I've already reviewed this restaurant and there has not been much of a change. For plenty of detail check out previous reviews. Today we tried the baked clams and they were delicious--tons of tasty garlic and delectable chunks of clams! We also sat near the front by the open accordion doors--the sound and noise was not nearly as bad as prior visits.

Another great meal ... lunch ... in the Hamptons. Seated promptly (reservation was helpful). Crowded inside, but comfortable. Server was excellent; all staff were friendly and efficient. The food? Delicious. Clams on the half-shell a nice start. But, the linguine with mussels and clams ... wow! Fantastic dish. Loaded with fresh tasying mussels, whole clams, and chopped clams, and the pasta was tasty too. My wife and our friends enjoyed their fishes too. Really good lunch!

Good food with mediocre service. We had our drink orders screwed up multiple times. They brought our main course without bringing forks after taking away our forks with the appetizers. I asked for a beer and they brought me an iced tea. After repeating my beer order, he said he remembered me ordering a beer. Then I repeated my beer order and the waiter said they didn't have that beer. How is it you can remember a customer ordering a beer and then not bring a beer... I am so perplexed. The Chili Calamari was fantastic. 5/5 The Sirloin steak was pretty good.

We had a nice dinner here on Sunday night. I had the French Dip sandwich and it was delicious. It tasted like French Onion Soup on a sandwich. The bread was crunchy. So it's definitely need the "jus". The Jus was quite tasty and not too salty. I would recommend. My friend had the Surf & Turf, which he enjoyed. The steak was cooked perfectly, as it should be since Bobby Vans is known for their steaks. My girlfriend had the Chicken Milanese. She said it was just OK. The breast needed to be pounded a little thinner. It looked like a big thick chicken breast. Not at all appetizing looking but I would probably not have ordered chicken at a steakhouse. Service was great. Overall, it was a very nice experience. I would come back. I hope the chef revisits the chicken preparation. I've had this type of chicken at any number of restaurants and La Parma probably does it best. If the manager happens to read this review, check out La Parma's version of it and bring it to BVs.

I've been to Bobby Vans in the past and was not wowed by my dining experience. This recent Friday evening dinner was much more satisfying. We started with the clams casino which was good. Not great. The shaved Brussel sprouts salad was soo tasty. I was very happy with this dish. We also ordered the fried calamari. Nothing spectacular but I did enjoy the crispyness of the calamari. The Porterhouse for 2 was cooked perfectly. Seared on the outside and slightly pink on inside & added a side order of whipped potatoes. Our waiter was very attentive and the food came out quickly although the restaurant was busy. I'd definitely visit again.

I enjoyed my experience at this restaurant Bobby Van's steakhouse with my hubby. I had a delish egg Omelette with tomatoes, feta and spinach. All the ingredients were fresh that blended well with the eggs. The home fries were all fresh with delightful seasonings. Of coarse I had a delightful ice coffee with that kick I needed to hang out for the day. My husband said his Philly steak was amazing it full of flavor not greasy extremely yummy for the tummy. He added his fries were crispy made with perfection. The service at the establishment was excellent the outdoor dining experience was very positive.

We started with the chopped salad which was the best part of the meal. Great dressing and enough for 4. My husband and I counted on splitting the penne bolognese. We were shocked when it arrived at the table. It was a portion for one at best. Pasta was a bit overcooked and the bolognese was not a rich tasting sauce. My friend had the salmon- again enough for one NOT FAMILY SIZE PORTION. Our other friend had veal marsala. It was a bit tough. Not family style portion. The food was at best fair. We all took a good look around deciding not to return. Ambiance was OK- noise level was to a level where we could barely hear each other talk to one another and hear what the other was saying.

Suffice to say, nothing was good. Service is like Italian Restaurant Summer Camp. The Campers are not good servers. The food is lousy, but hey at least it's expensive! This is The Hamptons after all. I absolutely, positively have had better meals at Olive Garden and I don't feel good about having eaten at Olive Garden. Avoid.

Everyone always gripe about their pricing, but everyone still uses them, lol. I guess Loaves and Fishes should thank their friend, Ina Garten (the Barefoot Contessa) for publicizing it as one of her favorite places in the Hamptons. It's definitely expensive, but so are most other places in Sagaponack, and the surrounding area. I've had a wide variety of their food at gatherings. Top notch and always really fresh. However, I must say that the in-store selection is pretty limited. I get that the store itself is small, yet cute, but just know that the food options are fairly minimal. For our first visit, we got some typical picnic foods (fried chicken, cold deli salads, etc.). We also got a very small portion of their lobster salad. I've always liked it, and just wanted a small taste. I say small because it went for something like $75/pound. I've been told that it can go for $100/pound. For me, that's ridiculous. There's no high end caviar on it or anything, lol. Honestly, I've had my go-to spot for lobster salad here, and this place is NOT it. I've always loved their desserts. Like every single thing I've ever tried. But, at the store, I got a slice of meringue cake that they just brought out, and it was THE BEST!! Omg, it reminds me of meringue cakes I've had in Europe, but could never find as good in the States. I'd be willing to pay anything for THIS. Haha. On our first visit, customer service was great. On our second visit, the employee (an older woman) was really unpleasant. She didn't even want me taking pictures of the store (not of her). Strange.

Topping Rose House, Bridgehampton: Culinary Highs and Service Lows…read moreRating: (Food: 9.5 | Service: 6) Topping Rose House remains a bit of a Bridgehampton enigma. As a spot we find ourselves returning to a couple of times a year, the kitchen continues to operate at a gold standard, even when the front-of-house seems to be stuck in a bit of a fog. The Food: A Seasonal Symphony If you are coming strictly for the palate, you will not be disappointed. The freshness of the ingredients is palpable: * Oysters: These were pristine--served icy cold and exceptionally fresh. The mignonette was the standout here; perfectly balanced and bright, it elevated the oysters rather than masking them. * Pea Soup: This was a revelation. It tasted as if the peas had been picked just yesterday; it was vibrant, "green," and utterly delightful. * Lobster Roll: While it was admittedly small in stature (especially for the price point), the execution was flawless. It was bright, crunchy, and avoided the heavy mayo-trap that many local spots fall into. The Service: A Comedy of Errors Unfortunately, the gap between the kitchen and the dining room was wide during this visit. While our waitress was personally lovely, the actual mechanics of the service were incredibly frustrated: * Timing Issues: We were offered bread at the start of the meal, yet it didn't grace the table until we were finished eating. * The Water Gap: Our sparkling water sat empty for far too long. Refills were offered, but like the bread, they arrived only after the meal had concluded. * Lack of Proactivity: There was no offer for drink refills throughout the courses. * Accountability: Most disappointing was the lack of acknowledgment. Mistakes happen, but a simple "I'm so sorry for the delay" goes a long way. Instead, the lapses were never addressed or accounted for. The Verdict: Topping Rose House serves some of the most phenomenal, fresh food in the Hamptons. However, when you're paying Bridgehampton prices, you expect the service to match the caliber of the kitchen. We'll likely be back because the pea soup and oysters are hard to quit, but we'll be crossing our fingers for a more attentive experience next time. mi

As seen in the pictures, my wife got the hanger steak sandwich with fries and I got the eggs Benedict with the lobster flambé ( added an extra egg ). Absolutely delicious as always. We also had a couple cocktails which were outstanding. My "napoleon old fashioned " may have been my favorite drink I have had since my old fashioned I had a nobu about 5 years ago. Only knocks is my wife's steak was overcooked. She asked for med-rare but it came out med-well. We didn't say anything because it's all about flavor and the flavor was there. Other than that, delicious. I forgot what they called their actual dessert but to me it's an affogato which was good. Now, here's why it only got 4 stars and not 5 : THEY TOOK CHOCOLATE MOUSSE OFF OF THE DESSERT MENU!!!!! Pierre? Say it isn't so. Honestly, my wife and I come out an east a bunch of times a year. Your restaurant is usually on our radar. For me, it's for the mousse. It was so decadent, light, and just oh so good. Sad to see it go. Hopefully it comes back.
