3.5 stars I just spent the last few minutes clicking back and forth between 3 and 4 stars because I couldn't decide between the two. Based on the other good reviews here from fellow Yelpers, I decided to try out this place that is walking distance from my building. Mediterranean food is my favorite for during the week, healthy, cheap eats. I got the chicken kebab plate and added a side of hummus and got two orders of taboulleh. The food was fresh and flavorful (probably about 4 stars) Points off goes to the atmosphere and service. The poor cashier was both the cook and cashier and frequently had to run between the two. Definitely understaffed. The phone rang multiple times and was left unanswered. Probably people who wanted stuff to go that they lost business on. While the cashier left to prepare other people's food, another employee walked in. It seemed like was coming off a delivery. I wouldn't say he was rude or anything like that but felt like the customer service experience could have been better and more inviting. Lastly, I didn't see a bathroom for patrons to use and there were two random people just sitting there watching the TV who did not have food and who seemed to be camping out there. I'll go back, but there are definitely things that could be worked on from their end. read more

Just attempted to order from this restaurant as I have done several times before, but when I had let the gentleman who answered know I had a 20% off coupon he told me it was expired. I let him know my expiration date was listed as 10/25/19 and since that was not till tomorrow it should still be honored. He said NO, it is expired. I let him know it was not expired as the date has not arrived yet (not till tomorrow) and he said he would only give me 10% off as a courtesy. Eat here a lot due to proximity to work. Food is decent, but a few things take away some stars. HYGIENE - I have never been in a "hole-in-the-wall" family type of place with thick layers of dust all over the microwaves, coffee/milk/sugar counter, etc. You would think a family-owned place would mean the family would take some pride in the cleanliness of the restaurant. Nope. Always dust and stickiness abound. - When I get food to go, sometimes there is kabob grease all over the plastic to-go bag. I'm sorry, but some of us are in professional clothes, why oh why can't the two young employees ever be careful with how they handle the bags? If you get grease on the bags, give the customer another one. Basic common sense. AVAILABILITY - I have come a few times on the weekend to be told they don't have any chicken or any beef. I get this is a family-run establishment, but this happens relatively frequently. CASH REGISTER - A few times I came and was told the card machine doesn't work, thereby forcing me to go to an ATM. This has happened twice, and I get profuse apologies, but no discount or anything. You would think someone taking the inconvenience of walking all the way to the ATM could be appreciated and thanked a bit more beyond just getting "i'm sorry" all the time. You should be kissing my feet that I don't say "you know what, no, not talking to the ATM, see ya next time." Also on this point, if you know your machine frequently breaks down, FIX IT or get another machine! FOOD - Stick with the kabob wrap (yummy!) and the kabob plate. I saw someone get a chicken breast sandwich on what I thought was a nice panini/thick-style bread only to order it and find that the toasted bread was cheap white/Wonder bread. Ya, ok people, I'm not spending 7.95 or w/e it was, as opposed to my usual 6.50 just to get Wonder bread. read more

A gem!!! The owner not only takes your order, but takes great pride in his food. When you walk up, the scent of aromatic herbs lulls you in. Combo plate beef and chicken kabob with TWO sides (rice, hummus, tabouli, salad, babaganoosh)...wait for it....EIGHT BUCKS! Extra side, a mere $2.50. Generous portions. Bottled water only $1. I can't speak to the authenticity of the food here, but I do know it was delicious, and very reasonably priced. The older man who runs the place was really sweet, and offered us extra pita bread at no charge. I ordered the beef kabob plate, which came with two skewers of really well seasoned beef and two sides; I chose hummus+pita bread and rice. The hummus was delicious, but the rice was a little bland and the pita bread was much thinner and tougher than I'm used to, but still tasted fresh. Seems like a great place to stop and have lunch if you work in the area. They also have coffee and pastries, I'll definitely have to try those next time I'm here. read more

Combination plate is my go to. You can get it with either rice hummus pita bread and the chicken/beef, or you can ask for salad instead of the rice. Its a hole in the wall but I swear I never get tired of it. The hummus is super creamy and delicious. I highly recommend this place! read more

I'm not so sure what all of the people who say they had an issue with customer service at Bob's are talking about? The family who runs this business is as sweet as can be. This is my favorite lunch spot by my office. The combo plate is fantastic, you can swap out sides if you don't want rice or salad. The portions are very decent, the price is fair, and the food tastes awesome. What more could you really expect from a funky Koreatown cafe?? I also really like that there is ample outdoor seating. I work right across the street from Bob's and I'm so glad I found this place because the food at cafe downstairs from my building tastes like rubber and cardboard. I've only got one thing so far, the Grilled Chicken Wrap. The chicken is very tasty and its grilled to perfection, juicy, not dry at all. The pita itself is lightly toasted and really soft. Portion size is decent. Comes with a smal side salad. Overall a great lunch choice. The best part, it's less than $5! read more

Yaaaaasssss to crispy falafels! I got the falafel plate and was definitely pleased. Crispy falafels, salad with flavorful dressing and tasty hummus. The only negative was the pita bread. Today I went in and ordered the beef kabob plate and the chicken kabob plate. It was very well priced for the portion size. The food was delicious and the younger gentleman helping me out at the cashier was extremely nice. It took me a bit longer to receive my change because I paid with a higher currency bill (partly my fault), however the cashier eventually got me the change and threw in a portion of pita bread for free. Amazeballzzzzzz falafel!!! I was starving, Bob's happen to be right beside me and decided to get their falafel without thinking. The falafel tasted crispy on the surface and very flavorful on the inside. And they were huge!!! The hummus was A+ Will definitely come back here to eat. They have amazing seating outside, they always have decaf brewed, they have delicious chocolate and berry croissants, and they have wonderful customer service. He took my order and was scratching his groin and went in to the kitchen took out a bowl of meat and started making my beef kabobs. I love Greek/mediterranean food so i was excited to try this place out given that there's not very many greek restaurants in Koreatown. Parking was annoying because it was metered. The restaurant itself is very small and very much catered towards folks who are just looking for a quick bite for lunch. The staff member who took our order was extremely nice, even giving us recommendations since it was our first time there. I had the chicken kabob plate and it came with 2 kabobs, rice and a salad. It was delicious! Only downside is that the hummus is not included and you have to pay an additional $1.95, but it was good and came with pita so it wasn't too bad. I ordered the chicken wrap and substituted the small salad that it originally comes with for the cucumber salad. It was a delivery order which I received 25 minutes pass their estimated time. However, the wrap was really good. I was surprised their wrap was actually a peta bread. The cucumber was really fresh as well, but the portion was very seldom.
