First time took an order to go, we all know kosher food is very pricey so we had to give it a try. Ordered the split pea soup and the Jerusalem Platter. Have tasted many kosher restaurants and this was good, we know it was New Years Day but the Israeli salad didn't taste right and the spit pea soup was very chalky and grainy , the actual platter was more than enough for two people, my son ordered the swarma platter to hare with his wife and I liked that much better. read more

Looked forward to giving the Boca Grill another chance. Unfortunately, we were disappointed again. We ordered the steak sandwich special. Served with French fries and a bowl of soup. Sounds amazing, right? Well, it wasn't. The split pea soup was too salty. The fries were overcooked but the sandwich was the biggest disappointment. The steak tasted like it was reheated from days prior. The flavor was off. It was very fatty. The sandwich was served in a pita and the salads were skimpy. We expected it to be stuffed. Only tomatoes and cucumbers. They asked if we wanted everything inside and we were disappointed, again. Overall, the food and the restaurant itself is a disappointment. I ordered to go and delivered, and asked for all the salads on the side for 3 sandwiches, about an $80 experience. They put all the salads on the sandwiches, and when I called to ask what could be done, they yelled at me, saying that is how a f**** sandwich comes. Driving through Boca on a Sunday afternoon, my wife navigated us to Boca Grill. We had driven by on a Saturday but they are kosher and closed on Saturdays. They are located in a strip mall with lots of small shops and a couple of major anchors. I ordered one of my favorite middle eastern sandwiches with Merguez sausage. It came with a puffy pita pocket stuffed with lots of goodies, hummus tahini and salad. My Merguez was perfectly spiced with a little kick to make me happy! I took my friend out on Thursday for lunch for his birthday. It was a horrifying experience! I ordered a classic hamburger for $22.99. It was the worst burger I ever had! It Looked like dog food. We stopped here for lunch today passing through Boca. We aren't often here on a Sunday, and I thought we'd take advantage of a kosher restaurant that is closed on a Saturday. The restaurant is in a busy strip mall with tjmaxx and saks, etc, plus lots of small shops. There are a few tables out front and tables inside. They also do a lot of takeout from those working in the area. We both ordered sandwiches. My husband got their merguez sausage. And I ordered their lamb shawarma. Each sandwich came on a fluffy pita pocket bread also stuffed with hummus, Israeli salad, and tehini (I got this on the side as to me, the thin sesame sauce makes the sandwich soggy). While waiting for our sandwiches we tasted their pickles and marinated slaw/veggies. I liked that each wasn't overly vinegary. The Moroccan style grilled merguez (lamb and beef?) sausage was nicely spiced and had a slight peppery kick. The veggies and hummus served to tame the spice a bit. Doesn't look like much when. You past by it. But this place is SO GOOD. A tiny hole in the wall if you will with a power kitchen making grilled shawarmas. Depending on when you go, expect at least a 30min wait to get your first food in. They have a very small staff and usually it's just one runner/waiter. Everyone else is powering the kitchen. The food is always fresh and super tasty. You can tell that your food is made to order and not just waiting there to fill your pita. PD: the French fries are THE BOMB! read more

Each time that I visit the Boca Grill I'm a little more disappointed. While my falafel sandwich was excellent. My husband's shawarma sandwich was served on a very cold pita. My husband would only give it two stars because he prefers the turkey Shawarma. I thought it was tasty. The friends we were with ordered a sabich sandwich and were told there were no eggs. Yes, I know that the price of eggs is high but really? There was no Israeli chop salad and while my friend ordered soup and was told that they were out, it still landed on our bill. Recently came back to Boca Grill for a Call Ahead To Go Order. I was told it would be 20 minutes but turned out to be 45. Not sure what happened since I arrived and asked several time if my To Go Order was ready. The waitress and waiter kept saying it's not ready until one of the cooks asked what I was waiting for. The cook quickly made the order to go. The chicken pitas that we ordered where a large piece uncut meat stuffed in a pita. Missed the add in's we requested and was just ok. Not sure if the waitress was new but I had asked for a sample of the soup if the day a few times and said it was coming. Unfortunately for the restaurant I never got a sample and did not order one either. I would go back but knowing there pickup timing is not 100% I'll elect to arrive a little later than they state. I never write negative reviews even less so for Kosher restaurants but this one the worst experience I had in years. We waited 45 minutes for a simple sandwich. the Kebab meat tasted rotten. The hummus is very liquid and drowns all the other elements. The Sabich only had Israeli Salad, liquid humus and nothing else. They forgot the eggplant.. They messed up all the orders. I strongly recommend you don't go there. and the cooks didn't wear masks and it was not ventilated. I would contrast that disaster with Pita Star in Hollywood...and it's not dirty and it tastes great there. To be 100% accurate, my son ate the Hot Dog. My wife and I didn't eat more than one bite of the Sabich and the Beef Kebab. The restaurant spent all of his time focusing on the Delivery Customers and ignore those who came. The experience was pretty shocking to me when I decided to go outside and sit at the table and eat the falafel. The waiter came asking me to leave the table because the owner doesn't allows customers that buys food to go , to sit and eat at restaurant. I was stunned to hear that and couldn't get the reason for that policy. I even offered to leave a tip in case that was the issue. The waiter still insists that I should leave but I refused to leave the table until I finished my meal especially because the rest of the tables outside were empty. Very disappointing. We were a party of 5, and only 4 dinners came. I went to the counter twice and nobody behind the counter seemed to care. They actually seemed annoyed. I spoke to a total of 4 people. The dinner finally came when the rest of us were finished. The waiter was apologetic and seemed to feel bad about it. The chicken was tasteless. Unfortunately, it's gone way down hill. The prices have gone up and the quality has gone down. They used to give you a mix of salads with each platter, now the platters are more expensive but they don't let you have any salads. You have to buy those separately. But you're not missing much. Not a big selection and not very flavorful. Also, hilariously, walked in there at 7:00 Christmas week--busiest time of year--waited 20 min before a waiter even came over to us and then they told us they didn't have any shawarma. Asked another waiter for the pita that was supposed to come with my platter and he told me to go to the counter and ask the guys for it myself. Just a pathetic showing all around. They charge 20 bucks for a couple salads and pita. 10 bucks for a small bowl of soup. And the prices they charge you are higher when the bill comes than they are on the printed menus. Stopped in on a whim, ordered a gyro with fries. The lamb and chicken gyro was really tasty. Felt authentic, but the bald Israeli cook was rude, took awhile and when I asked for specific toppings he got mad and a little hostile.... at least that's what I felt... The gyro was $16.
