We love Happy Hour at Boca and enjoy our bartender Austin. Pleasant atmosphere and another of our downtown Winter Park defaults. Food is always good and enough variety to not get mundane. The only downside I can find is whoever changed out the barstools needs to correct their awful decision on the first and second choice of new barstools. They don't fit the decor, uncomfortable, wrong sized and actually one of our factors in deciding whether we're heading to Boca. The barstools are a real crying shame--horrible decision! Came here as a last minute dinner on a Friday night, and it was superb. We ordered the lobster and shrimp bucatini and the grouper piccata. The shrimp and lobster Bucatini had a lot of flavor and had a great freshness to it. The grouper piccata was served over garlic mashed potatoes, and was one of the best grouper dishes my wife has ever had. We also had the chargrilled oysters that were great and the tuna nachos, which were okay. The service was fantastic as well as the wine. I just came here with a few friends to celebrate a birthday, so I decided to just order this because it was half off on their happy hour menu along with a couple other drinks that I had. Absolutely delicious, at first I was a bit tentative about it because I'm not sure where Apples would fall very well on a flatbread. Even though it's an anomaly, it's still blended in somewhat well with the entire thing. I heard the other frat birds that were on the list were pretty good but I can't lie. This flatbread was pretty decent, tasted quite well and some thing I can see myself ordering again in the future. Had dinner at Boca WP. The evening started with the smoked fish spread and Ahi tuna crisps. Both very good!! Shared a grilled Caesar salad. Great presentation. For our entree's, grilled salmon over an arugula salad, scallops and mussel dish, a tuna poke bowl and a double butcher cut bone in pork chop sous vide then grilled with mashed potatoes and topped with a carrot and apple purée. All the dinners were very good. Our Stag blended wine was a great pick. The wine could have been served at a cooler temperature as red wines should be. Our service began with our greeting by the hostess at the door. A great personality to begin our dinner experience. Our waiter provided good service. I have been for drinks before and came to try the food for the first time for a friend's birthday. We had a reservation for 6:45pm and were seated about 15ish minutes later. Our waiter came and we ordered drinks. I had an espresso martini and my friends ordered an appetizer. I don't think Boca has gluten free apps. The drinks didn't take too long and my martini was good. For dinner, one of my friends and I decided to split both a BLT and a burger, made gluten free. Our waiter double checked with the kitchen to make sure the entree and sides we ordered could be made gluten free which I appreciated. However we didn't get our BLT until 9:10pm and the burger came at 9:30pm. Our other friends got their food probably around 8:45pm which was still 2 hours after our reservation started. I was starving and thankful when I could finally eat. The food was good but it was disappointing it took so long because people had to leave since we were late to an event. They did comp our meal which I did appreciate and it wasn't the waiter's fault but if there is a problem with service in the kitchen, they should probably limit the parties they seat. I went to Boca on Saturday for brunch and was very satisfied with the experience! The interior was decorated nicely and had a fun ambiance. We started with the Zucchini fries! They were so delicious and melted in your mouth. The Greek goddess dressing paired with them was incredible! I got the chopped salad with chicken for my meal. They have indoor and outdoor seating and they sit nicely on a corner of Park Ave and the outdoor view is nice. The salmon eggs benedict did not disappoint...very filling. My cousin got the daily special...pancake tacos. Who doesn't like tacos? Awesome. He liked them very much and they looked great as well. Initially the wait was one hour but the hostess took the initiative to say is down and a nice convenient spot which she had didn't have to do but it really left an impression. She was very accommodating and definitely was kind considerate and took initiative where nowadays you don't really get that. The staff moves really smooth and keeps the area clean and I've never seen happy faces come in and out of the restaurant this much in a while! Service was amazing even when it got busy. Our bartender was great. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted and asked how many was going to be in my party, and where I would like to sit. I felt very welcomed. Our bartender was patient and didn't rush us, we had a slow start because me and my girl-friend were catching up. I had an extended lunch, so I decided to give this cute looking place a try. I've been to 2 of their locations in Miami, but now I'm not so sure they're related. Every location I go to has a totally different menu. This one has fresh American dishes. It was early afternoon, so traffic was light and parking was surprisingly available right in front of the restaurant. I started out by ordering a Paloma from their seasonal menu. It was sooooo good, I definitely recommend getting this. Then I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich with Cajun seasoned fries. The sandwich includes garlic aioli, honey sriracha, pickled onions, tomato, Gorgonzola and bibb lettuce. This is one of the best chicken sandwiches I've tasted in Orlando. The chicken was perfectly crispy, and the Gorgonzola with the pickled onions were the perfect flavor contrasts to go with it. I definitely recommend this menu item. I sat at the bar, and the bartender was top tier. She was attentive, helpful and very friendly. The vibe of the whole place was very comfortable for me. I went around 1 and 2pm on a Wednesday, so it wasn't very crowded, which I love. I could have even gotten some work done there, it was that cozy. The aesthetics are very chic and trendy. I tried the seasonal spritz first, it has vodka, macadamia liqueur, lemon, honey and champagne. I took out the honey so it wouldnt be as sweet and it was good. My knee jerk reaction is to rate this with 1 star out of 5, but because one of the meals served in our group, i will increase this to two. The creator of the restaurant on Florida's West coast was a friend of a relative who raved about it. This relative was with us in our party of 6 as it was somewhat of a celebratory lunch. We arrived and were seated fairly immediately since we did have a reservation. [to be clear, this is NOT the same restaurant as was opened in this spot - food initially was farm to table and does not seem to fit this style now.] Server arrived fairly promptly, took our drink orders and in a reasonable time delivered our beverages. We ordered 2 appetizers, the Fried Green Tomatoes and the Zucchini Fries. Both arrived, again, within a reasonable time, but we all felt they were both fairly small for the price. The Fried Green Tomatoes while fried well, didn't have any seasoning and the pimento cheese topping was very minimal. The Zucchini fries were also like a single fry side-order but they were good until they cooled off. Two of our party ordered the Apple Brie sandwich with salads and thought they were very good. . . even though one first received a bowl of what was their Lobster Bisque. Most all tried it and agreed it was not Lobster Bisque and if it was, we don't want to know what went in to it; basically, not good at all. Another 1 of our party ordered the half Bree and Apple Flatbread and salad lunch special. While the side salad was as ordered, which was 'ok', the flatbread was soggy on the bottom and extremely flimsy which she informed the server AFTER we paid since we weren't looking for a 'free-bee'. One attendee had the fish taco lunch special which, as told by the 18 year old, was so not good - the best part of it was the cherry tomatoes. . . and she does not like cherry tomatoes normally. The 5th attendee had the OMG Burger which was cooked as ordered, medium rare, but, as she states was 'nothing special' and certainly not OMG. I had the grilled chicken sandwich which has garlic aioli, honey sriracha, bibb lettuce, pickled onion, tomato, and gorgonzola. Let's start by saying the bun was nice. It appears all the toppings were there, but the chicken wasn't even warm, it was dry, and all of the toppings were very dry - as if it had been sitting on the counter for a good 15 minutes - and it could have been since it took a bit more to get our meals out. It's a very loud environment with a couple of patrons at the bar which, for a short while, were extremely loud with a couple of yells. Yes, it's Winter Park, yes, it was on Friday, and the bar is in the center of the front of the restaurant which is where we were seated but the acoustics do not work well here. They need to add something to buffer that added level of 'loud'. I'm happy to say the bathrooms were nice. Overall, none of us would choose to go back with the exception of the 2 that had the Apple Brie Sandwich (for Lent) and I'm not sure if they would return just for that item. Sad but true, this is one of the two places that i will not return to on Park Avenue. read more

I don't know if it's cause it was bad day but when the burger came out, it smell soooo fishy that I could not even finish. Returned to this farm-to-table restaurant three years later, as a birthday reservation was made for over twenty people. As we were the group of the night, we had the back room reserved, which was nice. We ordered the grilled gulf oysters that came with garlic toasted croutons, asiago and Parmesan cheese, and oregano butter. Oysters were fresh and the whole dish made it even tastier. Sweet potato gnocchi was just as good; this dish consisted of oyster mushrooms, butternut squash, broccolini, sage cream, and micro Parmesan. Scallop ravioli was delicious as well, with the chili con carne, jalapeño peach marmalade, caramelized fennel, poppy seeds, and beurre orange. Everything was delicious and we really enjoyed it. Chill atmosphere, cute decor and friendly staff, what more could we have asked for? Parking can be somewhat difficult, however, the new parking garage may help. Some of us were lucky with the parallel parking alongside the restaurant itself. Came here for a quick bite for dinner with just my husband. Upon arriving no one was at the hostess stand so we stood around and waited for a bit but in that time, 2 waitresses walked by us (to get to the outdoor dining) a couple times without asking if even been helped, or even said anything to us, so I was disappointed about that. However, when our hostess arrived she was very sweet and apologized for the wait and that no one helped us. We were seated immediately and our waiter came pretty quickly. He gave us a full rundown of the menu and some of his favorite options. I ended up ordering the apple and Brie cheese flatbread (which was just okay. Not amazing, but definitely not bad) and my husband ordered the skirt steak and he really enjoyed it. However, the steak was served with oyster mushrooms which he's not a fan of, so if you don't like mushrooms, make sure you tell them to remove the mushrooms. We also ordered their green goddess sauce which is like a ranch but not (if that makes sense) and the garlic aioli-which I dipped my flatbread into and it made it 10x better. I have been to Boca several times but for brunch, and I can definitely say I LOVE their brunch items a lot more than dinner!
