I must say that I made judgements about how my food and service was going to be at this restaurant before arriving. I must also say that I was very wrong. The food and service here is great. This is clearly a family run restaurant and they are doing a great job. The diversity of the food on the menu and specials board had me worried that they were trying to satisfy all people and in the end everything would be average. My family ordered all Mexican-type food and it was all great. We even ordered dessert which is a rarity for my family.

Our first visit here, will review again after more visits. Family owned restaurant with great service. Food was good, more like home cooking, which we appreciate, and plenty of food for the money.

    Tostadas

The atmosphere was nice. It felt very authentic. Everything also tasted homemade. The salsa they first brought out was very chunky. Personally, I feel like the veggies could be diced a bit more and have a tad bit more of salt for flavor. The tostadas were very tasty. They were pulled pork and I would go again for these tasty tostadas. Best item! My fiancé ordered a green Chile chimichanga. The green Chile was quite sour. I would say easy on the tomatillos & add something to tone down how acidity like some pollo bouillon or roasted Anaheim peppers. The carne inside of it though was so tasty! The 3rd plate i believe it's carne en sus juegos? Overly done with cilantro. I wish I could had that on the side. That sauce had a bit too much salt. But it was a solid 7/10 in taste. The rice looks bland but it has some flavor. The service was great. They attended us every moment & they were very patient. salsas do lack in flavor and aren't too tasty.

My husband's plate was better than mine. He liked it. Carne asada plate.

I will not come back here. I gave 3 stars because my husband enjoyed his plate. My salad was horribly made. The chicken was hard, the corn is straight from a can and it just wasn't appetizing.

Wife and I did Mexican faire and it was very good. (All pictured) I had the enchilada plate Christmas-style and my wife had the chimichanga with shredded beef and green ranchero sauce on the side. The enchiladas were tender and creamy a bit smaller than is typical but the lower price made them a great value and with the rice and refritos they were very filling. My wife found her chimichanga very light and crispy and her shredded beef tender, beefy and mildly spiced. It went very well with the tart and medium spicy ranchero sauce. The rice and beans were perfect and tasty. We split a slice of chocolate cake for dessert and it was delicious, moist and tender and with a very intense chocolate flavor and a chocolate truffle-like frosting.

Bean and cheese nachos with chorizo. As you can see a demolished it before thinking to take a photo.

Delicious food and a nice atmosphere. The bean and cheese nachos with chorizo were great! The guacamole was wonderful. My grandparents enjoyed the oatmeal and huevos rancheros. The wait staff was really friendly. All around a good experience.

Biscuits and gravy, chips and salsa, side of eggs and sausage (skip the bacon). Iced tea no sugar.

Traveling back to Arizona, we knew we had to return, and once again, it exceeded every expectation. The filet mignon is simply out of this world--served sizzling in a cast iron skillet with clarified butter, it's incredibly flavorful, perfectly cooked, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. It's the kind of dish you think about long after the meal is over. What really sets this place apart, though, is the people. The staff consistently go above and beyond, creating an experience that feels both elevated and welcoming. And Michael, the manager, is exceptional--so accommodating, attentive, and genuinely invested in making every guest feel taken care of. It's rare to find a restaurant that delivers this level of quality and consistency twice, let alone make you want to keep coming back. Without a doubt, one of the greatest dining experiences in the USA. We'll absolutely be back again.

Disclaimer: few 5 stars...always room for improvement…read more.. So I've lived in VV coming on 4 years and have read numerous reviews on all the restaurants at in the area. I knew this to be a breakfast place, of which there are many, but someone mentioned on another board about where to get Greek food and Georgie's came up again. Greek/Med is few and far between and a really good place just closed in PV. That said, I went in today. Specifically for the Greek menu. Gotta say. It was really good and will satisfy your gyro need. I ordered the spanakopita and a beef gyro. I expected phyllo triangles but was met with a mountainous portion baked amazingly. My first thought was please don't be cold...it wasn't. It was nicely warmed and so full of feta and spinach it was ridiculous. While the phyllo topping came off, it was rich and buttery and flaky and messy. This was enough for 2-4 people. Presentation was blah but taste is what mattered. The beef gyro came in a nice hearty pita that stayed together. The meat portion was generous. There was a bit more lettuce than I'd prefer but it was fresh. I'd opt for additional red onion next time and the cucumber sauce was creamy and just really good. No overpowering flavors. I wish they had tabouli and hummus and I'd eat there daily, lol! Service was lovely, clearly so many regulars. Servers are wonderful and friendly. Decor needs updating but you're not going for ambiance, you're going for good, down home food. I will be back!

Three couples (unfortunately) ordered the same item - the Verde Valley Melt. Basically it's described as a sourdough bread turkey sandwich with parmesan fries. Secondly, a Melt should come out as toasted with melted cheese. Hot and toasty it was not. The turkey portion was slim. A five year old kid wouldn't have been happy to have this weak sandwich. I hope this experience is a one off for the Belfry. If not, I expect this restaurant to disappear soon. That would be an unfortunate loss to downtown Cottonwood.

The owners, Suzanne & Randy, have created a special dining experience in the heart of Verde Valley Wine Country. This hidden gem offers an eclectic menu that truly sets it apart from anything else in the area. To steal my wife's description, "Manzanita Restaurant is a culinary oasis in the middle of nowhere, where flavors collide, and memories are made." SERVICE: The staff is warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. It's obvious that they take pride in ensuring a memorable dining experience. We couldn't have felt more welcome or had better dining experiences on both visits. WINE: Manzanita has a decent selection of wines by the glass and bottle. It's not the largest, but there's something to pair with all dishes. Both times we had a fantastic bottle of Zinfandel from Geyserville, CA, which paired great with our meat entrées. The bottle price is very reasonable, as we used to be members of that winery and know what they charge. FOOD: Outstanding gourmet game specialties and German delights. We've tried several soups, sides, and main dishes and have enjoyed them all. Soups of the Day have ranged from Pumpkin Purée, Ostrich, to Manhattan Clam Chowder. Salads can be added as a side or as an entrée, including adding Chicken Breast or Grilled Salmon. We've also tried a couple appetizers like the Edamame & Roasted Brussel Sprouts In a ginger soy glaze with sesame seeds, and the French Escargot served in mushroom caps with garlic herb sauce. Main entrées we've tried include an Orange Roughy Special with red cabbage, a Manzanita Salad with Chicken Breast, Fried Shrimp, Coconut Shrimp, Bison Tenderloin with vegetable medley, Venison Medallions Special with a creamy mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes, Antelope Steak Special, and a Prime Rib Special. There's nothing I wouldn't hesitate to order again. I'm half German and love German cuisine, but amazingly I've yet to try anything from that part of the menu. They have a couple pasta dishes as well. The restaurant is not overly fancy or extremely modern, but it's slightly upscale, comfortable, and the food and service are both stellar. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply seeking a unique dining experience, this family restaurant won't disappoint. We can't wait for our next visit!

While making the reservation I made a note that our oldest son is autistic and non-verbal and his only form of communication so that staff was aware we decided to give this place a try. After spending close to $800 on food for our party we decided to exit the restaurant and that is when the problems began. As we were walking out another customer at the bar a patron at the bar decided to squeal at my son but also yell into his face. When who I assumed was her daughter realized we saw what was going on she covered her mouth and told her to stop. Being adults and understanding of others different situations we decided the best method was to approach the management team and explain the situation. I then approached a manger who was wearing a pink colored collared shirt and explained to her what happened and her response was "that hurts my heart, we do not stand for that and we will definitely do something about this." We waited outside for about 15 minutes to see what was going to be done and once we saw nothing was I went back in to speak to the general manager. This was definitely the worst part of the night. Tiana came out to speak to us and I asked her to speak on the side so that other patrons were not affected. Her response to me after explaining the situation was "since we did not see it we cannot do anything." I let her know that was an inappropriate response and that since it was a private business they could remove any patron for any reason but if they did not want to do that then she could just openly tell me that. I then gave her an example and stated "if I stab someone and you do not see it then you would not remove me?" Her response was "we definitely would," to which I stated that goes against what you just openly told me and she that there is damage from a stabbing. I then stated to her that physical damage is the same as emotional and mental damge just in a different form which she seemed to easily dismiss. She then stated that the first manager I spoke to was doing her due diligence to find out what happened and I then pointed out that that manager was actually waiting tables and we watched her do this the entire time so I was not sure when due diligence was being completed. We went around in circles, I asked her to give me the ownership information to which she stated "the owner is too famous for you to know," but eventually gave me the name which I had already searched for in my phone. At this point I openly stated that she could just tell me they were not going to do anything and that transparency would be more appreciated to which her response was "you are not currently dining in my restaurant so you need to leave my property." We did walk away but I hope that this is addressed and not pushed aside. All that to say, I hope this type of discrimination was not because we were Hispanic (the restaurant was filled with 90% Caucasian clients), because we were from out of town (from California) and mostly I hope it is not because the stance of the restaurant is not that people with disabilities matter less. I hope someone reaches out to me to address this concern and I hope no other family has to be a part of what we went through tonight. Tiana seems to be invested in the business and that is great but should also understand her customer concerns. Update to this review: Called this morning (2/17/26) and the hostess said she was not going to help me with any information, that I was a weirdo, to grow up and then hung up the phone on me.
