There is a great vibe with good music playing, couches, counter seats and tables. The wall decor has positive quotes and many people semed to be regulars. I'm a fan of Bodhi Leaf coffee and their cafes. I've been to several and they all are wonderfully comfortable spaces and their coffee is excellent quality. This location is hidden away on a random side street. I actually attempted to come here last year while driving in the area and wanting to stop somewhere for espresso. The Yelp app guided me to this address and all I saw was a post office so I figured the app had wrong info. Later, I found out that Bodhi Leaf is located on the side of the building (which also houses a church and the post office) and isn't visible from the street! I was recently in the area again and this time I found it. The interior is full of dark wood elements. There are plenty of tables and chairs, a couch, and a coffee bar. Bodhi Leaf usually has seasonal coffee drinks and I decided to order one of the four choices they had on that menu rather than a "normal" option: a Butter-Beer Latte. I also asked for a chocolate chip cookie from their pastry case and purchased a bag of their coffee beans. They have a variety of take-home beans (which they will grind for you if you don't own a grinder) and the cheerful, helpful woman who was serving me steered me to a bold roast that she felt would suit my taste (she was right - I love it). I took a seat at the coffee bar counter, not wanting to hog a full table as it was a bit busy. The cookie was superb as was the Butter-Beer Latte (which I got hot rather than iced), having flavors of butterscotch and vanilla, both of which were discernable. While ordering I was asked if I'd like whipped cream on top and of course I enthusiastically said YES. This was probably the sweetest latte I have ever had and, while I enjoyed it immensely, if a plain vanilla latte is plenty sweet for you I'd probably steer you away from this one. The coffee here is pretty inconsistent compared to other Bodhi Leaf locations, which really impacts the brand's quality-focus. This is perplexing since the location itself is great and the equipment is the same as any other location, bringing me to my next point... the staff. Similarly inconsistent, the staff is commonly rude or dismissive, they sometimes forget to make drinks for customers or go out of order for no particular reason, have prolonged conversations with customers at the drink counter, and sometimes outright don't respond to "hello" or "thank you". I know that all makes it sound like there's some sort of issue between the staff and I, but both my wife and I have been at this location a few times each, and inexplicably the staff has treated us poorly multiple times (though they have been nice a time or two). Our drink orders are not complicated or crazy or anything, and we both have always been polite and usually leave a tip of a buck or two, and we don't like try to talk to them about our day or anything... it's beyond comprehension. Something about paying $8 to $10 for a single cup of coffee while having the staff ignore your existence or treat you poorly really puts a bad taste in your mouth regardless of how good the coffee tastes, which again is a hit or miss depending on how they feel that hour. There's no shortage of amazing coffee shops in the area, and I think this location is really benefiting off the brand loyalty for its customer base, but I'd rather go the extra mile and drive to the location in Yorba Linda to avoid the staff here. I hope the body corporate team swings by and evaluate and talk to the staff sometime, this is bound to be hurting their image. read more

Walked in here to grab a pick me up, there was only one person in there waiting for their drink and one sitting down and yet neither of the employees acknowledged me or came to take my order right away, they were just chatting with each other. When the girl did come up she didn't say hi or even ask what I wanted she just looked at me, so I told her my order and she said "ok" and walked away. She gave me my nitro a few seconds later and again said nothing until I looked at her face and said thank you (like hello are you alive? Awake? Do you speak?) then she mumbled "have a good one" I'm so tired of horrible service like this, it's super simple to do this job correctly, all you have to do is acknowledge customers, say hello, say thank you. Instead they treat you like they're doing you a favor selling you a coffee. I've been to the Anaheim Hills location 3 times, so I've been able to try a few things! The coffee is great and I like how they have various sizes (up to 20 oz). They have a wide variety of syrups and the breakfast options are tasty. I'm simple and like a bacon breakfast burrito, but I've tried their avocado toast and it's great! The inside of the shop is a little dark due to how the building is facing, but they have outdoor seating and ample indoor seating. I like how they provide cold water from a communal fountain, ideal for working at the shop for a couple hours! Where Bohdi loses a star for me is the friendliness of the staff. Every time I've been in, even without a line, the staff don't greet you or try to be friendly in the slightest. I have tried to just strike up small talk with the baristas each time I'm there, and each time they look disinterested in forming an actual connection with customers and just take your order. This wouldn't bother me so much, but I see their 'regulars' come in and they receive a lot friendlier of an attitude and the baristas will actually talk to them. I wish the Anaheim hills staff would just make a little more effort to be friendly, as I would have liked to make this my regular coffee shop but staff friendliness plays a huge part for me. Went out on a limb, and tried two new drinks this time around: Cinnamon Toast Cold Brew and Coconut Latte with Oat. I usually hate try new drinks because I can be picky and don't like to ask for a new drink. I was surprised to say that I really liked these two drinks. The cinnamon toast cream on the cold brew tasted delicious. Once the cream was done it just taste like regular cold brew, I am usually not a fan of regular cold brew but I enjoyed the drink. Might go to drink is still the vanilla oat latte. Not a fan of the cinnamon latte. My partner got a hot coconut latte with oat, and it was so good!
