First time here after hearing all the hype and seeing the massive lines both here and up in Fremont. Finally tried it on a wed night, what I thought was late (7 pm, no wait) ... but there's a sizable line outside now. Got the house special... wasn't bad and it defn is unique in that it's individual hot pot, but taste-wise (overall) it wasn't worth the hype. I did enjoy the wasabi thing and the iBP tofu though. The quality of food in this store was decent. I guess today's cook was a trainee or I don't know....The two pots I got, they were disgusting. The cook put some wrong paste in both and it didn't melt....it resulted in a very salty flavor. The beef and lamp pots weren't tasted like this. Short and simple review based off of service. The female workers here purposefully avoid eye contact and ignore customers who call for them. The male workers are fine and attentive. At least that's what happened when I came this time for lunch. It wasn't even busy, because they had many empty seats. I think they were slightly understaffed today, but even more of a reason for the workers to be working at their full potential. If I could tip just the workers who helped, I would. Besides that, the food is great. I like to get the bigger hot pots, an order of the garlic pork belly appetizer, an extra order of rice, and share with a friend. After hearing plenty about Boiling Point, I finally got around to trying it. Luckily enough for me I came on a day where their service wasn't as bad as others have described it. The first thing I immediately noticed wasn't the smell, but the seating arrangement of the restaurant. It seems like the owner tried to cram as many tables and seats as possible to maximize the volume of the store. It made for a somewhat awkward dining experience and makes it dangerous for both the customers and the workers because they have to navigate between chairs while carrying pots of soup filled to the brim. I even hit another party's table while I was getting up. :/ Sorry! Anyway, Boiling Point is a little difficult to eat. The fire keeps the soup boiling pretty much throughout the entire meal so be sure to ask them to put it out early unless you want to have a burned tongue for the next few days. Everything was decent at best. The instant ramen in the soup was the one thing I was looking forward to, but after awhile it soaks up a lot of broth and the noodles become mushy... bleh. There were a couple of things I did like, however. Their bean paste, garlic sauce thing, and chili oil saved the meal. The side orders are also cheap compared to a lot of other hot pot places. What better place to go to when you're hungry and cold than good old Boiling Point, or BP as id like to refer it by. This BP is conveniently located in a large shopping center where there's plenty of parking to go around. The only problem is that this restaurant is very, very small. My friend and I came around 330 and we had to wait to get seated. Nothing sets this place apart from other Boiling Points, which is neither a bad or good thing. I decided to try the Korean Bean Paste, which now completed my run through every item on the menu. Food was good, service was fine, and atmosphere was normal. Since moving to the Inland Empire, I've heard the hype with this place and decided I have to check it out myself. Only carry-out is available during Covid since the dining space is too small to accommodate appropriate social distancing. I was a little worried at first that the quality of hot pots would be lost taking it home vs. eating hot and fresh dining in. I was pleasantly surprised how they prepped the pots for carryout however; everything is precooked through to prevent food related illness, and everything was still piping hot when I got home (and I drove 20-25 minutes one way). I got their special Five Treasure hot pot which definitely was reminiscent of traditional Taiwanese street-food like flavors. The portion was very generous, it took me 2 sittings to finish the pot. I also got the Tonkotsu Miso hot pot for my kids which is only available in the large size, it was enough to feed a family of 3. I didn't find anything spectacular with this one, but I appreciated unique ingredients like tofu skin and wood ears used in there. I re-boiled both pots in my own electric hot pot at home and it was good. I've never tried dining in however, so I'm curious how the quality compares dining in vs. carry-out. While Boiling Point is good, I've definitely had better in Taiwan, but this is a close comparison and I'm glad to have this option available in the Inland Empire area! read more

I really enjoy their Taiwanese Hot pot which has beef, stuffed fish balls, squid, clams, tofu, ramen noodles, as well as a variety of veggies. This hot pot is for those who really enjoy spicy food because the Taiwanese hot pot only comes at the spiciest level and cannot be adjusted. Each pot comes with either rice or vermicelli noodles (glass noodles). I prefer the rice since most hot pot already has ramen as an item in the soup. Oh and can't forget..during lunch hours, you get a free green or black tea with every hot pot ordered. Although food is great, prices has gone up since my last visit to boiling point. Of course the stinky tofu hot soup! We ordered 5 pots of the soup, from non-spicy to mild to super spicy, satisfying everybody's craving for spice. When I have noodle soups at restaurants, I usually eat the stuff and skip the soup because most of them use heavy MSG in the soup. My friend suggested to go to the famous Boiling Point, popular for their personal size hot pot. The place was still pretty packed despite it was 9:45pm, still a short line. The wait wasn't that bad. Menu was simple, you order your hot pot, pick either rice or noodles with it. About 10 hot pots to pick from, you can add more items for additional cost. At first I ordered the Seafood Hot Pot, they were out. I changed to Curry Fish Ball, they were out too!! Finally they have Thai Flavor Hot Pot, medium spicy - the pot was pretty good size, I opted for noodles. It comes with crab, shrimp, clams, pork, baby octopus. It has lemongrass flavor, not bad. My friend ordered the House Special Hot Pot, medium spicy - it has pork blood, fermented tofu, pork, mushrooms. I didn't try, but the fermented tofu doesn't smell at all, which is good :P Finally hubby ordered their seasonal off menu special Wine Hot Pot, medium spicy (I forgot the actual name, something about wine) - tofu, pork, wood ear ... it has a light wine taste, very refreshing. Each hot pot gets a roll of noodles. Three kinds of dipping sauce were on the table, my friend's ultimately favorite and recommendation is Chili Bean Sauce! I think he can drink out from the bottle! I've been coming here since it's opened - Boiling Point is one of my favorite restaurants. Delicious hot pot for a great price of $13-16 per person. At lunch they have complimentary iced tea and the line is always out the door. Highly recommend and is a SoCal pit stop. I always get the seafood and tofu pot, but the lamb and beef are solid options as well. And you can't forget the dipping sauce - I like to mix all four together, and honestly Boiling Point's sauce is the best part of the place. read more

Despite the terrible service here, I still come back since they are the closest location to my home. However, I will not be coming back to this location anytime soon. I would rather drive a little bit further for better service. I took my friends here & the waiters are WORST than before. I am not sure where all their other familiar workers were that day but the people they had working sucked. ERIS, one of the waitress spilled tea all over my friend & the other waitress, SOPHIA, avoided our table like the plague. When I waved at her to help refill my soul and tea, she looked at me with a stink eye and told her co-worker to assist me. She then proceeded to avoid my table entirely. She did not smile once, didn't ask us if we needed anything once, it was just a shitty service overall. Boiling Point is a chain and food and service are usually the same throughout all the locations. I remember when there was basically only the Hacienda Heights location but now they are popping up everywhere, like Cafe 85. Waiting for a table is also the norm for all locations, depending on the time of day. We were fortunate to arrive a bit before the dinner rush so we only waited less then 10 minutes. The way that they turn over tables is exceedingly fast. Once a patron leaves, a few workers will tend to the table and clean it up fast and efficiently. They got the system down. I usually order the "House Special" which includes napa, fermented tofu (aka stinky tofu), sliced pork, enoki mushroom, kamaboko, meat ball (pork), clam, quail egg, pork blood cake, pork intestine, nira, preserved vegetables, tomato, and cilantro. One can choose your level of spicyness as well, ranging from no spicy to flaming spicy along with either rice or rice noodle. The broth is so flavorful and the sauces on the table enhance the ingredients when dipped in. I tend to stick only to the garlic flavored sauce with all the ingredients for my hot pot. The hot pot "flames" tend to go out halfway as I am eating so the food gets a bit cold before I am done, or even before I ask for more broth. The sliced pork were sticking to each other as well, so instead of eating slices, it's more like a chunk of meat. Or ripped meat when you're trying to get a bite. There is a huge difference between lunch and dinner, For lunch (11a-3p), the price is lower and a drink is also included. For dinner (3p-11p), the price goes up a few dollars and no drink is included. Never knew that they have stamp cards, make sure to ask for one! They don't tend to ask you if you have one or provide one to you if you don't ask. If you are a frequent customer, it would be of some help. read more

The ingredients always taste fresh as well. I've never actually eaten in this location, but I always order take out and the worst part about the packaging is the fact that the sauces they provide spill without fail. My coworker is crazy about this place and we had to come here to eat every wednesday for lunch. I'm not sure about dinner, but lunch doesn't need to wait in a long line to get in. The one near Monterey Park boiling point branch is stinky as you open the door, it just smelled like stinky tofu. Right IN YOUR FACE. I'm a big fan of #4 Beef Soup. I gave it a 3 stars for this boiling point because I've tried the boiling point near Monterey Park and they give more tofu, more meat and more stuffs inside the soup compared to the boiling point in Chino Hills. Even though the waitstaff is young, this place is very much the stereotypical Asian restaurant where you must be proactive if you want any service after your order is taken and food is served. Some of the servers speak better English than others but they all try their best so A for effort. I love me some hot pot. I get all giddy when they place my own bowl of boiling goodies in front of me. Huge plus that the sauces are now available at the tables and booths instead of getting up and trying to scoop them at the sauce bar. Lol, it's still the tiny spoons though. Love Boiling Point so I was ecstatic when I found out they're opening one near me. I always get the #4 beef hot pot medium spice with ramen noodles. The place is a little smaller than the one in Irvine but it still gets the job done. Helpful tip: Come between 11AM-3PM for their lunch deal, it's about a dollar or two cheaper and you get free black or green iced tea! I suggest coming right when they open because it gets VERY crowded, especially around 12PM-1PM on a weekend. Fist and the most important part, It's not my first time been to this place, but everytime I decide to give this place a chance, I don't notice on any improvements. In contrast, the overall quality keeps degrading time after time. The servers were in bad attitude like they have a pride giving sh!t faces to customers. Besides that, the cost to value ratio is low based on its small portion, low variety of food in one pot, and its price. Nowadays, we may find other places provide better quality of food and services in more fair price in So-Cal. I would say it is not worth a try. I've been loyal to Chino Hills BP since it was opened but today was the first day I had to walk out due to frustration. Thank you Hurbert for single handedly ruining Chino Hills BP for me. Usually there's a wait to get in, which I never mind because I LOVE BP. It's my go to hotpot place and has always been. But today, we were seated, then forgotten for more than 30 minutes. I wouldn't mind the wait of getting food IF others were waiting just as long. BUT NO, there were 3 more tables seated AFTER us and SERVED BEFORE US before we finally were able to FLAG DOWN someone. Yes we had to wave our hands around to get someone's attention for them to come talk to us for the first time since taking our order. It's basically meats and veggies put together in a pot with some sort of hot soup broth and it'll be all cooked under a small portable stove. Menu: Here they have different choices. Veggie, seafood and many different meat options. They bring it in a metal bowl and it sits on a stove and once it's set down, one of the workers will have a lighter to put on the flame. PROS: if you come during lunch it's your choice of hot pot, rice or noodles, and a complimentary drink. You can choose between green or black tea. Dinner you do not have that option. Came back again because I really enjoyed their milk teas + sliced beef, and I ordered the taiwanese hot pot. So in my first review I mentioned that we had ordered more noodles because we felt they didn't put enough. Well this pot literally felt like we got even LESS noodles. I was in the mood for some instant noodle, that's what this pot comes with instead of vermicelli. The lack of noodle in the hot pot is astounding. I get that they put many add ons like iced tofu, fishball, cabbage etc. but the noodle is probably the best part and they barley put any, kind of annoying when you consider the price of the pot (18$). After some reflecting, its clear to me that this place is a bit overhyped. Also this pot was so spicy which I knew going in but damn my tongue was on fire. It was more of a dreadful spice than a flavorful spice if that makes sense. Also, it sucks they won't let you substitute the type of noodle but I think next time i'm just gonna ask for instant noodle on the side once I get my pot. I think what really brings me back is the sliced beef honestly which thankfully they put a good amount of and also the milk teas with boba since it's always fresh.
