Lastly, the service of the staff is kind of questionable since some of the staff I've met couldn't hear me even though we were like a foot away from each other but nonetheless they are all still nice and have good experience working there. I came here for my sister's birthday on 1/25. Upon being sat, we immediately ordered as there had been a wait time and we already took a look at the menu. Since it was my sister's birthday, she got the free pot and drink. She asked the server is any drink was okay and he confirmed. She confirmed if sprite was okay and he agreed. We noticed the sauce containers were dirty and very empty and requested a new one. He did not give us another one until we asked again. I also ordered another pot and the server did not tell us about the free drink it came with due to being lunch. We noticed all the tables around us had drinks so we asked another server who let us know we should've gotten a free drink as well. The pots took a long time to come out and we waited over 30 minutes. I asked a server to check in on the status of our order and it soon came out. We were seated next to the napkins/utensils area for the servers and at a point, I turned around and saw two employees there. I asked for napkins from our server who made eye contact with me. He nodded and then grabbed napkins and walked in the opposite direction, which was just plain rude. I then turned to the other employee and asked for napkins again, to which she expressed puzzlement as to why her coworker didn't grab it, since she saw he made eye contact with me and agreed. Throughout our time there, the servers were nowhere to be found which was frustrating and if we asked them for something, they would act if we were an inconvenience to them. At the end, I just went up to the cashier to pay since our server was again nowhere to be found. I reminded them of the birthday deal and had the ID ready. He told me the total and I asked for the itemized receipt. Turns out, they charged us for the sprite. I explained to him how our server told us sprite was included and it was unfair to charge us if we were fed wrong information. He was very rude and looked annoyed with me. We went back and forth until he finally conceded. I asked for the konjac jellies and he put 6 of them (more than our party) on a tray and shoved them at me rudely The jellies were falling over and he could see I was struggling and yet continued to be rude and look at me with contempt. Overall, this experience ruined my sister's birthday and I question if I would ever return to Boiling Point. I was very disappointed with everything and felt unvalued as a customer. read more

I love boiling point. My go to is either the coconut cream curry or the beef medium spice. Be careful though bc I've noticed boiling point spice is inconsistent-- sometimes a medium will taste mild, other times it will be very spicy. My pro tip with boiling point is to ask the server to turn off the flame after a couple of minutes eating. I wanna love this BP because its nearby my parents but it was okay. I took my mom out for lunch on a weekday and it was pretty busy. No wait though and we were seated right away. I love that they have a variety of hot pot options, including vegetarian for those of you who don't eat meat. I usually either go with their house special or the taiwanese spicy. I got their house this time and my mom got their seafood tofu. Whichever option you choose you get to select either rice or vermicelli noodles. My house hot pot was okay. I felt like both our portions were a little small. I wish it had a little more flavor and depth. My mom seemed to enjoy hers. I remember the house use to come with some ramen but not now. We did finish both our bowls. Pricing is affordable. The hot pot bowls run from $20-$25 depending on which one you get. You can choose your level of spiciness as well. Service was good. They have robots that bring the hot pot close to you for the servers to take off. Boiling Point is a good affordable option if you're looking for something soupy or hot pot nearby. We were here for my grandpas funeral & went to this location bc my grandpa loved this place & we would go on christmas. My close family has never been & when we got there the server Derrick was actively avoiding our party & taking his sweet time even seating us (my grandma & our two 60+ year old family friends had to wait there standing for over 30 min) because he wanted to wait for his shift to be over so he didn't have to serve us. He sat down a table for a party that came in after us & their order was served to them before we even got asked what drinks or what order we wanted. When my dad finally called him over, he literally had a huge frown on his face & goes "oh you guys know what you want already ." The service was the worst i've ever experienced & if we needed anything we had to flag down anybody working there that was running past. They never refilled our soup broth like they usually do or asked us if we needed anything. We got there at 4:30pm btw before there was even a rush. This was my first time coming to this location when I first heard boiling point is opening here at valley view since I usually go to the Garden Grove. I also got to use my $10 off birthday reward on the boiling point app, which is nice. I would definitely recommend getting the app since they have good deals and give you birthday rewards. I usually get the beef hotpot and old time delight tea in the Garden Grove area. The Jin tea shop was okay, and it just lacks flavor. Today, I got the beef hotpot and winter melon milk tea with brown sugar boba. Beef hotpot: I personally love this hotpot because they give you a good amount of meat, Napa, meatball, fishcakes, and other food contains in the beef hotpot. It has good spice and aromatics of the beef. I would give this 5/5 since I love this hotpot the most & very exceptional. You can adjust the spice if you don't like that much spice. Winter-melon with boba: I didn't like it as much because It lacks flavor and bland. I was hoping the winter melon would be like the one I had at Ding tea. The only good thing about it is the boba, which was very chewy, good texture, and cooked well. I would give this drink a 2/5 since this drink was not it for me. The service was fast & employees are very nice and friendly. Parking is very limited. The seating area is very spacious better than the one in Garden Grove area. This experience happened a few months ago, but left such a bad impression on me that I will not be dining at this location and the Boiling Point chain again (not exaggeration). We came into this location on a busy Saturday night. After waiting, we were seated at our table. What seemed like a buss boy cleaning the table next to us then pulled out a tablet and took our order. My girlfriend and I both ordered the classic beef. Everything seemed normal up to this point. After a 30 minute wait, I started noticing that people who arrived after us were getting their food sooner than us. I flagged over a waitress to double check on our order. She ran into the kitchen and promptly came out saying they didn't have an order from us. I noticed in the background the buss boy who took out order overheard this and flailed his hands in frustration as well. The waitress apologized and retook our beef hotpot order. A couple minutes pass by and the manager comes out and apologizes that they had just run out of beef, and most of the other items on the menu as well. The only thing left was the seafood hotpot. Frustrated, I explained we only came for the beef hotpot, and would head to a different location. They did give us two bobas for the trouble, even though I denied them. We were still craving the beef hotpot from Boiling Point, so we headed to the next nearest location. Frustratingly, this location also had a sign on the door saying "Out of Beef." Still determined to get the beef hotpot and hours after dinner time at this point, we agreed on trying one last Boiling Point location. Learning our lesson this time, we called ahead to a THIRD location making sure they had beef hotpot before arriving. They confirmed us they still had plenty of beef, so we traveled to the third Boiling Point location further away than we initially intended to travel. To our surprise, they also had an "Out of Beef" sign on the door. I frustratingly explained to staff we called before arriving to confirm beef hotpot availability, but they claimed ignorance. They said whoever I spoke with over the phone was wrong. This was a very frustrating experience with not one but THREE locations on the same night. I came here during their grand opening and was surprised by how large/spacious it is! There were plenty of servers going around and checking in on us. I hope their service continues to be just as great. My go-to order is the beef, spicy, rice, and added instant ramen. I also like adding a side order of their garlic pork belly. I love the flavors of their soup and how filling it is. I typically share a pot with another person so I love that they now give you extra meat and rice. The beef pot is probably my favorite one since it already comes with mushrooms, beef, fish cakes, corn, and tofu. My party waited over 30 mins and had to ask for our number to get seated. By the time we get to order, THEY RAN OUT OF EVERYTHING -- no lamp, no pork belly, no korean bean paste, no taiwanese soup,... The only thing we could order was beef. Despite the situation, our server Aaron was very accommodating and down to earth. He's the only one who actually took his job seriously and tried his best to cater to every tables, while the other waiters just took their sweet time walking around dilly dally, mind you, DURING A FULL HOUSE. Unfortunately, I've been to this location a few times now, and this always seems to be the case. If I was in the OC area, I would definitely choose to stop by this location, since they're the only one of 2 in North America that offers my favorite @jinteashop drinks. In comparison to normal Boiling Point drinks, Jin Tea uses organic and primarily Oolong tea as their base for a deeply fragrant and floral flavor, and they have a lot more unique drink options such as chrysanthemum, winter melon, and butterfly pea flower. In addition, this location also carries Boiling Pot hot soups and Taiwanese side dishes that are surprisingly some of the BEST prepared I've had, despite being a completely new location. They load a generous portion of fresh toppings in all of their pots and offer free broth refills, ensuring that you'll walk out with a full stomach (especially if you order the larger Taiwanese spicy, miso, or Thai tomato flavors). As for the drinks, you can get $2 off per drink. We ordered one roasted onlong milk tea and one onlong milk tea with boba. The food came out in less than 15 mins which was pretty fast. Last time I waited 40 mins for the food at the Cerritos location. Both of us enjoyed the food. They did definitely put more meat and ingredients at this location. Soup was tasty just like the other locations. As for the drinks, we both didn't not like it. My tea tasted like milk with water. I would skip the tea next time. This place has potential to be my favorite location! Always loved BP especially now with new menu. Most employees are trainees and they have a different drink menu in partnership with Jin Tea Shop. Lots of parking available in this newly renovated plaza! Restaurant itself is pretty spacious and they use a robot server. The wait is still long (at least an hour) but service is decent and everything came out pretty fast! They have designated host and servers. Hokkaido milk tea is my usual but got the Amber milk tea instead, still yummy! Curry is my go to, it was definitely more watered down and less flavorful. It tasted like after you refilled it with more broth. Hopefully it tastes better and more consistent with the other locations eventually. Overall good experience! New location wooo woooo. Came on a Thursday night around dinner time was about an hour wait (there was 10 ppl on the waitlist in front of us). Got seated after we received the text and ordered fairly quick. The lil robot came with our food and our waiter sat it our table. Good very very tasty! I would recommend a medium spice for a small quick, it's not super spicy imo. One thing I didn't like was how small the tables felt. The boiling pot basically took up all the space and I didn't have space for anything else lol. The double meat was good I suppose? I felt like it was a regular amount of meat haha. Didn't get more than 1 bowl of rice from the supposed AYCE bc I was full haah. Waiters were very attentive and always refilled our waters even though they were busy. I usually enjoy dining out, but my recent visit here was easily the worst experience I've had. From the seating process to the food safety, everything that could go wrong did. ​The trouble started before we even sat down. We waited over 30 minutes while several tables sat empty. To make matters worse, the supervisor, Andy, gave our table to a group that showed up after us. His excuse didn't make any sense, and he actually told us to go back outside and wait longer. ​The biggest issue, however, was how they handled a food allergy. We were very clear about our allergy when ordering, but the food came out with the allergen on it anyway. When I sent it back, Andy didn't have the kitchen make a fresh dish--he just scooped the topping off and tried to serve the same plate again. When I caught him and complained, he acted like I was being a nuisance, giving me a frustrated "ugh" before finally agreeing to fix it. ​By the time the safe food arrived 20 minutes later, our other dishes were cold and our drinks were still missing. I eventually had to go to the register myself just to get our water and sodas. ​Andy was completely unprofessional and showed a scary lack of concern for customer safety. This spot is only 12 minutes via the 22 towards valley view. The parking space looks to be a little limited, but the restaurant space inside is cleaner and bigger compared to the Brookhurst location! Their soup is just as good as the old location. They also have a waitlist here too. Went with their Taiwanese spicy soup per usual and it is still just as spicy as before. Lots of veggies, cute mochi rectangle with hot pot branded on it. She prefers nothing spicy, so the garlic soy & garlic bean paste sauces worked well for her. I chose #8 the Taiwanese Spicy. Heat is not adjustable on this one. My heat threshold is med-hot. The waiter did say over & over, that it's REALLY hot. Yup, it was blazing hot. But I'm glad I tried it. I'd order it again, but turn the burner off sooner. Same thinly sliced beef, squid rings, couple clams, etc. Also ordered the garlic pork belly. This tasted great, however, I dropped it in the hot pot broth cuz it was ICE COLD. Mil had Love potion (passion fruit). She loved this. At $8 minus $2 off with a hot pot, glad we could take the container home. Probably will use it for water. Must be a marketing trick. Why would we eat here and not order a hot pot? So we FEEL like we're getting a deal. The cold high mountain oolong tea was also in this cute take home bottle. Robot delivers the meals, which is probably safer than a waitstaff carrying the hot pot & burner to the table. Lots of staff, very attentive, & helpful with menu. Since it's new to the area, everyone wants to try since we've passed this place for over a year waiting for the opening. Personally, I'm happy to see an Asian place in the area. Yes, there are tons of hot pot restaurants in FV, East Garden Grove & Cerritos. Not in West GG though. There is Mika sushi, next to Von's, but that's basically it along Valley View. While there is currently ample parking, once the bowling alley & movie theater ramp up service, this may be a problem in the future. Come early for dinner, late or at opening for lunch. read more

One thing that we were very disappointed in, however, was the Jin Tea Shop. The drinks that we got were very bland and lacked any flavor. They almost tasted like water, to be honest. We think that the drinks at the regular Boiling Point shops are actually better. The boba was good and chewy though! * Passion Fruit High Mountain Oolong Tea: 2/10 - Barely tasted any passion fruit flavor and more of lemon * High Mountain Oolong Tea: 7/10 - Very watered down and couldn't taste any flavor * Boba (topping): 9/10 - super chewy and nicely cooked The parking lot was kind of small so you might have trouble finding a spot if you come during the rush. They're still new and want to make sure they're providing amazing service so even if you see there are available tables inside, you'll still have to wait until they call you in. I've been to many Boiling Point locations over the years, and it's always been one of my go-to spots for comfort food. There's just something about a bubbling hot pot full of flavor especially when having seasonal congestion. I'm really glad they opened this location near us -- it makes getting my fix much easier without having to drive too far. This Boiling Point is in a convenient plaza with a movie theater and a bowling alley, which makes it a nice little hub for an outing. You can easily grab hot pot here, then head straight to some entertainment afterward, which I really like. We have done this a few times where we would grab a quick lunch then watch the latest movie for a quick date night. As for the food, the menu is pretty much what you'd expect if you've been to other Boiling Points -- solid, consistent, and reliable. The flavors are the same across locations, so you know exactly what you're getting, and that's part of the charm. What really stood out to me about this particular spot, though, was the space. It's noticeably clean and well-kept, with high ceilings and strong air circulation. A lot of hot pot restaurants can feel humid, stuffy, or overwhelming with the steam, but this location is the opposite -- it feels fresh and comfortable, which makes the dining experience much more enjoyable. The service was also exceptionally fast. Even though hot pot naturally takes time to cook at the table, the staff here gets everything out quickly and checks in when needed. I appreciated the efficiency without it ever feeling rushed. Overall, this location has become one of my go-to places when I want hot pot. It's not fancy, and the menu won't surprise you, but it's dependable, clean, and comfortable. For me, that's exactly what I'm looking for. Since it was still lunch time, we were delighted to find that we could choose between two teas for free - wintermelon and green. I personally preferred wintermelon, as the green was on the sweet side. I ordered the House Special, and my partner and I ended up sharing a lamb appetizer. All of the food came out at once, so the lamb was a little cold :( but, it was still deliciously marinated! So happy that the West side of Garden Grove finally has a Taiwanese restaurant in the area, and what's even better is that, it's a Boiling Point! For those that haven't had this before, it's a spot that specializes in personal hot pot. They have all kinds of different flavors for your hot pot depending what your mood is. I would recommend coming in for lunch because it's the same amount of food as dinner AND you get a choice of iced black tea or iced green tea. My go to order is their #1 House Special, but it might not be for everyone because it does have unique ingredients such as stinky tofu and intestines. Not to fret, they have "normal" options for those that aren't as adventurous that are still equally delicious. Each hot pot order also comes with a choice of vermicelli or rice. Double check to see if your hot pot option already comes with vermicelli. If you prefer a variety, then choosing rice might be a better option for you. I did dock one star off because it seems like they tend to run out of certain soups throughout the day. I understand if it's near the end of the night, but I've experienced it twice where I had to choose something else than my go to order. They are located in a plaza that is shared between multiple establishments like Starbucks, Taqueria de Anda, West Grove Pizza, Valley View Lanes, Starlight West Grove Cinemas and more. It used to be a relatively empty plaza but with the recent developments, parking can be quite a challenge. There are extra parking spots located on the side of Taqueria de Anda or by the car wash spot, albeit, it's just a slightly further walk. I personally never had an issue with their service. It's easy to call them over to refill the broths or replenish the sauces; however, if they are looking to improve their service, then I would recommend being more proactive with asking customers for broth refills. read more

Had to check out the new Boiling Point here in West Garden Grove. It's combined with a boba shop, and they serve their drinks with table service! Their other Garden Grove / Westminster location typically has a long wait list and a small dining room, so this larger location is great. We got the Spicy Taiwanese hotpot in a larger (sharable!) size, and an appetizer of spicy tangy beef. I thought the appetizer went so well with the hot pot, since it served as a de-facto "add-on", with a yummy sauce. The hot pot was great and just the way I remembered, with plenty of meat and veggies for two. The broth refills are plentiful, as we were seated near the kitchen, so safe to say we were FULL after. I think the service was a bit rushed at this time though, but I imagine things have improved a bit after my visit.
