Really disappointing Cuban sandwich. Hardly any meat, only a couple small pickles, couldn't taste the mustard, and the bread seemed like a grocery store bun that had simply been smashed down by hand before serving. Passing through town, stumbled on this through Yelp reviews. I have the chicken pot pie, which was exactly what you expect on the extra delicious side, and hubby had the Tampa sandwich which he really enjoyed. We finished off with a peach huckleberry pie slice. Service very friendly. Happy to see outdoor seating during Covid. I wish people had been wearing masks, but this is Idaho, and that's probably too much to expect. If you're looking for tasty pie, this is your place. read more

I was looking forward to trying Boise Pie Company. I planned a late lunch, so I could try their Pot Pie, figuring I would pick up a pie also, for Sunday dinner. I drove from West Meridian to the Orchard location, on a Saturday at 3pm. Well, unfortunately, I found them closed with a note saying they ran out of pie. I would think since they also serve food, they would still be open the normal hour's. There was also 2 other people who stopped by at the same time as me. Ordered the chocolate mouse pie and the peanut butter pie. The chocolate mouse had great flavor and was not too sweet. The Oreo crust complimented it well. The peanut butter pie was very full or flavor and was sweet. The peanut butter flavor was overwhelming and I could only eat a fourth of the pie at a time. The customer service was average, and the employees could have done better at getting to know the customers and helping them determine what would fit them the best or to discuss the options that were available. If you like pie, it is a place worth trying because they do pie well and it was cooked well with good flavor. The fruit pies looked delicious too, even though I had not ordered it. read more

I've been waiting to try out the Pie Co and so glad I finally got the chance to go! I had a delicious and savory bowl of Italian vegetable soup and my husband had the Tampa sandwich. It was not only visually appealing it was delicious! I strongly recommend both! We also got a sample of the new apricot turnover. My husband said he could eat them everyday. Mixed opinion... The service was excellent, but they were out of the turkey sandwich at 1:30. My friends pork sandwich was very tasty, but we thought that $9 was too much for a smallish portion and a bag of lays chips. The tomato soup was also excellent, but the garlic bread was cold in the middle. The pie was not bad, but the crust was doughy and undercooked. I'll probably try this place again, since some of the food was really very good. But, maybe for a $9 lunch, at least give me a choice on the chips? read more

I just relocated from the South, and I found traditional southern pies!! The owners both waited on us and were very friendly. We got 2 pie flights - so got to try 6 kinds. My fav was French coconut cream, key lime was best I've had, sugar and cream (creme brulee') chocolate crackle (something I remember from childhood) Blueberry crumble, pumpkin praline-they were all so good! What a great find. A bit of a pie snob and this place is top of the list for a revisit. Had a Chicken salad sandwich - the chicken was seasoned to perfection and then shredded which made a perfect combination with the delicate croissant. I'm not a Key Lime fan, but my lunch mate is and she Loved it. The Lemon Cream pie was my favorite- light and delicate without overwhelming lemon tartness. I can be pretty fastidious when it comes to restaurants & desserts worth suggesting to friends. Combine that with the fact that you can count on one hand the number of good places to get a decent pie in the Boise valley area, (That isn't another boring production-line pumpkin pie from Costco) I was pleased to hear the Boise Pie Co. had just opened up (10/31) on Orchard street & they had a variety of pies to choose from just in time for Thanksgiving. Now, as any good husband or boyfriend knows, when your wife or girlfriend is having one of those weeks..and has been dropping hints that's she's been craving a slice of her favorite type of pie, (in this case Apple)...a smart man will search high and low to find her favorite pie & surprise her with it - earning some points along the way. Enter the Boise Pie Company! Staff & Store When I called and spoke to Terrance on the phone about what they had, he was very polite and professional and was patient with me asking questions about their different deserts, and was able to tell me exactly what they had available, from Pumpkin Pies, to Pecan Pies, Chess Pie to Peanut Butter Pie, 3-Berry Pies, to Apple Pie and Key Lime Pie. I arrived at the new store location which is on the left side of the La-Z-Boy Building on 1216 N. Orchard Street, and to the right of Idaho Camera. The store is clean & cozy and has a rustic, yet quaint southern style spin on soups, sandwiches and of course Pies! They display their pies inside a glass case of emotion because even though you can see them, trying to formulate complete sentences while deciding how many you want can cause internal trauma and confusion. The struggle is real. I was happily greeted by Bridgette and Terrance who make the magic happen with each one of their hand-crafted pies, each of which have a unique pinch of Unicorn and fairy dust added to the recipe which makes them 10 times more addictive than crack. Bridgette was very friendly and personable, and you can tell has a passion for baking these pies and desserts. She effortlessly explained the different key ingredients in each of the pies, making each one more difficult to choose from the last. There are a few tables if you want to stop in for lunch or need a dessert to get you through the day or simply need a table to lie down on after your pie-educed food coma sets-in. They sell their branded thermos, T-shirts, hats & items in the store too. I suggested they sell a fake moustache and sunglass kit for when you are walking out of there with 7 pies and see your neighbor Betty from the PTA committee & want to make sure she doesn't recognize and secretly judge you. The parking lot has plenty of room, which is great if you go and unexpectedly eat a full pie by yourself and need to sleep it off in your car in the lot. The store is also in a great location if you need to grab a pie and hop on the freeway on your way to meet and try to impress your new girlfriends mother as something you just whipped up and try to pass off as your own. (psst...It won't work) The PIES! I wasn't sure what to expect when I got to the store, but I was assured by Bridgette that I could take my time deciding, but they wouldn't allow camp-outs inside the store as I suggested. After I carefully compared my notes between each pie, and after finally being told I was being cut-off for what I assumed was endless samples, I had to make my decision! Ok, they didn't really give out endless samples, I made that part up...and I already knew what my girlfriend wanted, which was one of their Apple pies, but my point is the decision was still difficult! So it was at that moment as she was boxing up this Apple Pie which looked like it was sent from Heaven, that I made the horrible mistake of telling her my favorite pie was actually Key Lime pie. No sooner had the words left my mouth that I realized the gravity of my mistake, as Bridgette smiled & said "Actually, I just took a Key Lime pie out of the oven in the back!" All I could do was blankly stare for what felt like an eternity as my brain scrambled to find the "Maybe next time" phrase... I felt like that kid Ralphie from the movie "Christmas Story" when he yelled.. "Ohh Fuddggee". And like him, there was no turning back for me. I was doomed. Before I knew it, and after hearing that Key Lime Pie was one of Bridgette's specialties, having the Lime Juice specially imported from miniature baby limes in Florida, I just blurted out the words "YEAH I'LL TAKE THAT ONE TOO!" without hesitation. It was like she KNEW it was my weakness, and I was powerless against the Key Lime Pie. I'm out of room on this review, but in closing, I will tell you these pies were hands down some of the best I've ever had. And the Key Lime Pie you HAVE to taste to believe. Especially with their homemade whip crème. To quote my girl the next day at lunch via text "This pie is Freaking amazing!" Trust me when I say just go and get one. This is in my neighborhood and we finally got over to try it this past weekend. I had The Tampa ($8.95) which came with chips on the side. It was really tasty. The pork and ham was so flavorful, the cheese abundant but not too much, with thick pickles that provided the perfect amount of tangy goodness. My teen had the chicken pot pie ($12). Flavor wise it was really, really delicious....like she even ate the peas delicious! It was disappointing though, in that it was more like a stew topped with a thin piece of pastry. I feel that for $12 you should get the whole deal with a top and bottom crust....esp. at a pie shop. We took the pie flight to go with lemon meringue, chocolate creme and key lime. All were delicious! Service was friendly, space was delightfully decorated and spotless. Definitely will be back. read more

My mom makes the best pies and I am always disappointed with restaurant pies. Not this time! We tried the pie flight (yes!) which included three slices of pie and shared. The chocolate was dark and rich and came with homemade whip, the three berry was just the right combination of sweet and tart, and the sugar cream pie which none of us had ever tried before and were happy with our decision to do so. The best part in my opinion is always the crust, it makes or breaks the pie and the Boise Pie Co. crust is really good, flaky and delicious. We will be back! read more

This is a wonderful little surprise on the Bench in Boise. Some very beautiful pies. A slice and a cup of tea with friends is a sweet afternoon delight. But they serve tea in styrofoam cups and have to heat the water in a microwave. Beautiful scrumptious pies deserve to be served on a plate preferably not a tin one. Word of mouth sent me in search of "The best Key Lime Pie" and of course while there I sampled the quiche which was rich, creamy and full of flavor. I ordered the 3 slices of pie deal for 10.95 and picked the Chocolate Mousse, Coconut Cream and the Key Lime. The pies are all delicious as was the quiche. Nice people and cute restaurant. Next time I will try a sandwich, I do wish they had some gluten free bread but I was informed that they could make a whole gluten free pie if given notice so that's awesome! My daughter said the crust rocked on the Quiche, I ate around it even though it killed me to do so. Darn gluten insensitivity. We wanted so badly to like it but the lemon cream had a horrible taste (maybe something went wrong with this pie) and the banana cream was basically all whipped cream. The 2 fruit pies we had were eh, so-so. We warmed them & added ice cream to make them better. If you can bake, decently, we recommend making your own. read more

Wow, I hate to disagree with some of the other reviews. Purchased an entire coconut cream pie for $25 and took home to serve a party of four. The pie certainly looked delicious and had plenty of coconut shavings but all four of us agreed that it was the most tasteless and bland cream pie any of us had ever had. Totally lacking in any flavor. At first we thought the baker must have inadvertently forgot to add the sugar to the recipe for the coconut cream filling. Not even a hint of sweetness. But then, upon isolated tastes of the whipped cream topping as well as the graham cracker crust, also revealed no sweetness or flavor whatsoever. Did I buy a diabetic pie by mistake? Gave the pie a second chance the next day. Results the same. The rest of the pie went down the garbage disposal. Would never try this place again folks. read more

I'm usually pretty picky about pie but it is my favorite food (I had pie at my wedding instead of cake). This place is amazing! There is something for everyone and good sandwiches. The pies are not sickly sweet or gloppy like what you would find at a supermarket or a cheap diner but well crafted and unique. Well today was our first experience eating at Boise Pie Co. It was quite delightful. The owners are really nice people and their food is excellent. We ate Shepherd's Pie, Meatball Sliders and Strawberry Pie. All were above our expectations. We even ordered a cherry pie for Easter. Oh and by the way all food is made from scratch in their shop. Our first visit to this new lunch restaurant will definitely not be the last. Very clean restaurant, though a bit austere and small. This is the sole reason I didn't give it 5 stars. Very friendly people. The menu is limited but the ingredients are of the highest quality and justify the prices. Pie selection good, quality superb. I had the shepherd's pie. It is the best I've had in any restaurant. Lots of moist ground beef with just the right amount of carrots and peas and covered with light, fluffy mashed potatoes and shredded cheese. My wife had La Mason sandwich, thick slices of turkey breast with apple on a fresh croissant. We both had key lime pie - fantastic! read more
