Excellent service. The food was good but I'm not sure it's as good as everyone is saying. The grits were phenomenal. They tasted more like corn than any other grits I've ever had and they had the yellow color to match. The biscuit was soft and buttery but honestly not all that distinctive. The chicken was fine, but needed something more in the flavor department to compete with Homegrown or even Hattie B's. On my vacation, I went everyday because of how much I love it. It was flavorful, the chicken was tender and the service was so nice. Even people who weren't our waiters, were attending to us. I've been wanting to go this well-known brunch spot for forever and my mom and I finally got a last-minute reservation this morning. The food was excellent. I had the Sir Hash sandwich and the egg was soft while the biscuit was fluffy and buttery and the sausage obviously housemade. I had a side of hashbrown casserole, which was among the best that I've ever had. I sampled my mom's bis-cakes (their version of buttermilk pancakes) and they were delicious. I do feel the sides were priced a little high, but not prohibitively so. The only hiccup was the service. While the hostess was very nice and attentive, our actual server, Alex, was not. We ordered with him but after the hostess brought food, he never came back except when we flagged him down for a refill on our water and our check. I noticed that it was like that for every table in his section with the exception of the two regulars he sat down to talk to for a while and the table next to ours probably waited fifteen to twenty minutes just to get their order taken. I assume the wait was due to it being very cold outside on the day we went and the outside seating being closed, the wait was well worth it. I made the mistake of not getting names but the hostess was very kind and welcoming and our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I'm a big breakfast person and the food itself was great! We went with the classics a bacon egg and cheese and a sausage egg and cheese. The reason we did that is because it was our first time there and if you can do the classic right I'm sure your novelty items will be just as good.
