Came twice here. Good food, nice and fast service (without overwhelming you every five seconds to ask you if you're doing okay, which I love) nice place with pretty real flowers on each table. A bit pricey but well, it's Waikiki and also the other Indian place I've been in town is pricey too. Compare to Hawaii it's just a bit more. We order a lamb kabab ($20) , big size and my boyfriend liked it. Also some daal ($15) a bit small but yummy, with a bowl of rice to share. We got garlic naan (yummmm) and a lassi (salty yogurt drink, so good, specially with spicy dishes!) Will be back if I crave Indian food. read more

Very bad customer service!! The waitress (didn't tell us her name) was very rude and condescending. She rushed us and didn't wait for our questions and clarifications that we needed. On top of that she yelled at us when we said that the food she brought out was incorrect. I was so shocked she spoke to us in that way. Just terrible. If I could give this place a 0 I would, I wouldn't even call this a restaurant. Everything at that establishment needs to be changed, we were treated with horrible service, the food was frozen in the middle and some of it was burnt. My butter chicken was snatched out of my hand without an explanation and I was completely appalled by that action. I mean cmon the least you can do is explain why you're snatching my food right out of my hands literally, like I am NOT joking. The server did not check in once and the lady who gave us water left the water glasses on the complete other side of the table and we had to reach for our water, to add onto that our water was not even refilled and I was parched the whole time. I ordered a canned coke and it came 20 mins after the food came, how hard is it to bring canned coke to a table. Not only was the service absolutely awful but the kitchen staff themselves was arguing in front of the whole restaurant themselves. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decoration was horrible, there was nothing that made this place special.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The fact that they gave themselves a $22.60 tip after how we were treated was completely baffling to us and we did not even get a chance to give them our own tip on how we see fit. We called the Bombay Palace, but they dismissed our concerns, called us scammers and hung up on us twice. One of the worst Indian restaurants I've eaten in and I've been to Indian restaurants across the world. I love Indian food so it hard to disappoint me but it is very obvious when minimal effort is put into the flavor. It was just bland and I asked for the dishes to be extra spicy. I was craving for Indian/Pakistani food during my visit in Hawaii and started searching for the restaurants. Bombay Palace popped up at top of the list and I decided to give it a try. It was a wonderful experience on my visit there. I asked for the specialities of the restaurant and ordered Keema naan with lamb roghan josh. The food was very delicious and above my expectations. I passed the Bombay Palace while walking to another eatery the night before last. I promised myself that I would go there tonight and I did. My best friend that lives on Oahu joined me for her first ever Indian meal. She had the lamb cabob, served on a sizzling plate. Though I have had lamb at other restaurants, particularly the Korma, I have not ever had such a flavorful lamb as was served here. I had my usual, the Chicken Tikki Masala and Oh my goodness...as this is something I often order when choosing this fare, I was blown away! The Bombay Palace Masala was indeed, the best I have ever had anywhere. I am so glad I came across this place. I will return the next time I visit Oahu. Yum, Yum!! The food was delicious and made my mouth burn (like in a good way). We tried the Chicken Curry and the Chicken Vandaloo. Boy was my mouth burning at the end of the night. It was good though, I liked it. Even with the spice level you can taste the complexity in the food. The Vandaloo was most definitely spicier than the curry so they sort of complemented each other well. (Like when one was too spicy, I went to the less spicy, then when I could tolerate it, I went to the more spicy. Yes, that cycle was on repeat). I would highly recommend trying this place. PS. I don't often write reviews but I had to write one for this place. We've tried least five or six different Indian restaurants on Oahu and this one is by far the best one! To start off the best server I've ever seen is Hari. He single handedly took care of three 2 tops and two 10 tops with seamless fluidity and attention to detail. Despite being the only server, he constantly refilled our water, made consistently delicious mixed drinks, refilled our rice, never messed up our order, even packed our leftovers to go for us, the food came super fast and was top 3 best tasting Indian food I've ever had in my life. He was attentive without hovering and professional while being friendly. One of the most humble people you'll ever meet and clearly knows how to hustle without looking like a chicken with his head cut off. We ate the lamb korma, butter chicken, palak paneer, and garlic Naan. Everything was outstanding. Flavors could not be better. This place knows how to make a person's mouth sing with epic flavors!!! I stay in the area often but this was my first time to try Bombay Palace and I was glad I did. You can see the sign from the street but how to get in is not immediately obvious. You enter through the discovery center. It's not a large restaurant but was not crowded and I was seated right away. I was brought water right away but took a bit for my order. I decided to get the dhaniya Pakistani special with lamb. I also ordered garlic naan and a glass of wine. The wine was mediocre but the garlic naan was really fresh and good. The dhaniya came with basmati rice. It had tender pieces of lamb in a tomato sauce with cilantro. You have a choice of mild, medium or very spicy and I chose medium. It was a bit milder than I expected but worked out well for me. The taste of the sauce was really good with a lot of cilantro that I happen to love. It took awhile for me to get the check but service was friendly. The restaurant was a bit warm but there was some air flowing. They leave the door to the walkway open which must be why. Overall, it was a very good meal and I'd go back to try something else or would be happy to have the same dish. read more

Dint have much expectations, I was just walking and found this place near my hotel and we decided to walk in. First look of the place was nice and had a warm and inviting feeling. The huge surprise came when I wanted to order roti, but garlic naan was the one that I wanted to try, so we ordered one garlic naan, Tandoori roti and kadai paneer. We were absolutely blown away with how garlic naan was damn fresh and good. I mean I don't like naan but if there is a place were I would want to have naan, this would be the place. Best kept secret in Waikiki. My husband and I having been coming here for 8 years. We have had Indian food all over the world and always compare it to Bombay Palace. We have yet to find anything as yummy. I say yummy because as soon as you take a bite the flavor is just so amazing you start making yummy noises! The Samosa Chana Chaat is our go to appetizer. Don't be discouraged by the looks, the flavor is everything. Then we get the Chicken Tikka Masala, Coconut Chicken Curry and garlic naan. This is a Pakistani place that advertises itself as a Indian restaurant. Food is strictly okay. The lady server with spectacles is racist and mistreats customers. Who the hell has a paan in their mouth while taking customer orders ? Well, this lady does. The server with the beard is great and has to often correct the lady's mistake. To start with, bad service as soon as we entered the restaurant. 80% of the restaurant was empty but we were still given a corner 2 people small table. When we asked if we can get a 4 people table as we were planning to order more food, we were told they want to keep the table for other people that might show up. While we were there, restaurant was never more than 20% full. Now the food, chicken in biryani was raw so was in the butter chicken. At the end of the meal when almost all the food we ordered was left as is and we ate only naan, we told our server about the food, he said he will let the chef know. We were watching him go to the chef (who might also be the owner) and mention our concern, we saw them laughing while chef was looking at us. Totally disgusting. And lastly, they added a 18% tip to our bill. We asked them and they said its mandatory!! I wanted to argue but didn't wanted to waste any more of my time in that restaurant. Bad food and service. Food was greasy and not tasty at all. I ordered at 5.10pm and system told me 30-45 minutes. So I got there by 5:40pm, waitstaff told me my food will be ready by 5:56 and asked me to come back. I took a stroll and was back by 6pm but still my food wasn't ready. They kept telling it will be ready in 2 minutes which actually took another 15 minutes. Food was not even worth waiting.
