I'm a fan of Bonchon I really like that there are 3 locations in the sac area. I've been to them all. The place is a nice size inside with a small bar area. Normally the prices are kinda up there. I like coming during lunch hour for their lunch special. I usually get get spicy drums and wings but today I opted for boneless spicy with seasoned fries. Seasoned is $1 more for parmesan cheese and garlic. The waiter was nice and took our order quick. The food came out quick too. Usually the wings are much more saucy but was kinda disappointed today. The boneless looks more like small strips. They really weren't what I was thinking of. Anyways, I would just sick to the normal drums and wings. The fries had a decent amount of seasoning. They were super cruntchy as always but not that warm. I wish the waiter could've checked on me more or if they had a self serve water/soda machine. read more

We got takeout at work with Doordash here. It arrived super quickly and they gave us a ton of food! I tried the soy garlic chicken, Yang-nyeom chicken, and spicy chicken wings which are huge! It tastes good for Korean fast food, pretty standard. Not healthy of course but good. Fried rice was normal I suppose. And we got seasoned garlic fries which were good. Taste like garlic fries what else can I say. All fried food basically except the coleslaw which no thank you. Good quick service and a good option for Korean fast food in the area. read more

Ordered bulgogi bibimbap, 12 pieces chicken strips, and kimchi fried rice, with the daikon radish as a side. All things were super mid. I have been to the Daly City and Sac - Arden locations over the past five years and I remember the chicken, rice, and daikon dishes being tastier. In particular it seems like the radish here was not as sweet or flavorful and that the sauce for the chicken seemed dilute. Additionally the rice for the bibimbap tasted like it had been left in the rice cooker for several hours. I hope that my perception of quality decline is a function of this particular location and not a type of flavor "shrinkflation" endemic throughout multiple locations. read more

JAPCHAE, Y'ALL!!!! People probably come here for the chicken, but I for one, recently discovered that japchae IS NOT created equal! Bonchon has the absolute BEST, no lie!! I went in on a whim to pick up some of their Soy Garlic Wings to go. After looking over their menu, I also decided to get an order of Japchae. I was a bit skeptical because of the $13.95 price tag, so I was hoping it would have more than just the standard noods in it or the portion would be bigger than just a side. The chicken also comes with a choice of coleslaw or radish and I went with the radish. To my surprise, opening what seemed like a small portion was actually enough for 2 to 3 people. The dish was nicely packed and the first thing you see when you open the container is a ton of marinated beef strips. I had to dig underneath to see if they forgot to put the noods in, but they were definitely packed in there! They filled up the container and it was barely able to close. Yay for them being generous and not stingy! It was still nice and hot after the 20ish min drive home, and the taste was phenomenal!! That beef was so savory and tender, it married so well with the perfectly seasoned noods. The chicken was also really good, and I was happy to see they were all thoroughly cooked, no pink middles here! =) They did have a spicy version of the chicken, but the Soy Garlic was calling my name. It was the perfect amount of seasoning with a slight twist of sweetness. The chicken got a nice pop of flavor with a bite of the cubed radish. OMG that radish!! It's gonna be my go-to whenever I order this chicken for sure! I highly recommend you try some Bonchon for your tastebuds. This one is located in a busy shopping plaza area in Elk Grove. Parking lot is a bit tight, but manageable. The employees were really nice and efficient. Next time I visit, I'll try dining in for the full experience...or maybe I'll just go to one of their locations down south because I need more Bonchon in my life!! =P read more

Got the medium combo half half, the bulgogi, Bull Dak and a side of kimchi. This was the first I've had mushrooms cooked with bulgogi but it was alright. The Bull Dak tastes best when it comes out hot and the cheese is melted. The spicy level was okay not as spicy as I thought it would be. The spicy sauce for the chicken wings and drums was spicier. Understaffed or quality check no longer exists. Call in and the person hangs up due to not wanting to work or not knowing how to tell someone to please hold. Overcooked food, salty and or over spiced now with way too much soy sauce or one ingredient of peppers. It is amazing what the new wage for fast workers can cause to your favorite restaurants. My favorite place for quick Korean fried chicken! The crispiness of the chicken maintains even hours after picking up our order. Very delicious paired with rice since the chicken carries lots of flavor on its own. I ordered online and came to pick up my order after about 25 minutes. My order was already ready along with their handful of pick-up orders on the counter. I applaud the efficiency and swiftness from the employees since I was in and out within a minute. I do wish they served their sides in bigger containers since the radish/coleslaw can really only last for one person. This Elk Grove location will not exceed your expectations. I've been disappointed way too many times and this is the last time I buy from here, that's unfortunate because I live 2 minutes away. If you're gonna try Bon Chon go to the Bay Area location or San Jose. The quality at the Elk Grove location has gone down hill since the opened. Which is very unfortunate because we should be proud to have a location in our city. But the Elk Grove location it will not meet your expectations which explains why the lobby was completely empty and my Togo food today was Cold and they had the nerve to serve me two wings that were the size of LEGO piece "see pic" So disappointed!!! Also the quality of my wings was mediocre the soy garlic sauce wings were so dry and so dark. They stand behind their signature double fried wing technique. My wings felt like they were fried three times to be honest they were all hard and dry. I also picked up my order within 10 minutes from ordering and the order was completely cold. I've been eating Bon Chon for over 10 years ever since I lived I New York and New Jersey. Before the Elk Grove opened I would drive all the way to San Jose to eat Bon Chon and it was amazing!!!! Every time that I come to BonChon, it's never a disappointment. It's honestly that good and in my opinion, a gem of Elk Grove. I recently came on a Friday evening and got sat down immediately. First off, I want to say our waiter was so friendly and attentive throughout our stay. My usual order is the 20 wings half soy and half spicy. The wings are so crispy and juicy. It's my go-to stop when I'm craving chicken. I also order the house fried rice w/ bulgogi. Let me say, this is the best fried rice I've ever eaten in my life. It's so flavorful and makes me come back for more. I'll literally come here just for the fried rice. I'll also get a order of Kimchi which taste so fresh and goes so well with the chicken. For the drinks, I'll get water and order some soju. You can mix flavors together for the soju! The restaurant itself is super clean, there are plenty of tv all around if you want to watch the game and the atmosphere is great. Definitely a place for big parties to enjoy themselves. We came here for lunch on a Sunday - it was busy but we were still able to get seated right away. Service was quick and super friendly, we also got our food right away. We tried the shrimp shu mai - the honey mustard was an interesting choice and would've maybe liked a chili sauce instead but overall still good. My husband tried the bibimbap with spicy chicken, I tried a bite and it's definitely spicey! I had the japchae and it was good, a nice variety of ingredients in it and would order again. I was really hungry and excited to taste my lunch, but unfortunately the fried rice was not up to par. The portion size was on the small side for most fried rice portions. They advertised fabulous flavors, but did not deliver. The only vegetables were a few red pepper slices and chives. I paid extra for the chicken, but the small chunks were unsightly, overcooked and tasteless. Overall, the dish was disappointingly bland. I had 4 or 5 bites, closed the lid, and tossed it. The first time I visited this chain, it was the one on Arden and it was a huge disappointment. Many of the items that I wanted to order, that location did not have. The outside of the chicken were nice and crispy, even the next day, and the inside was juicy and tender. The flavors were great, I like them both, I can't really chose which one I like better. The fried rice was average but pour some of the Tteobokki sauce on top, YUM! Tteobokki was my favorite; spicy, cheesy, chewy noodles, fish cake and seaweed rice wrap...must try. I ordered online with the Yelp! app and my order was ready for me at the time that they said it would be. Staff were friendly and in mask, and mask is required to enter. My order was correct and smelling good all the way home! I was ready to give my visit a 5 star until friends that I told about this decided to go get some, but at the Natomas location. The fries are a banger. These actually might be my favorite fries in Sac. Had an amazing experience at Bon Chon in Elk Grove. We dropped in for a late dinner/bite not realizing this was going to be the best snacky snack ever. We started out with an appetizer, the Bulgogi Tacos (not pictured, sorry...they were that delicious that we exhaled them). So flavorful, light and delicious. Then came the wings and leg combo. Ordered half Spicy and half soy garlic. The pickled daikons is my favorite and I reluctantly shared because I wanted the whole dish for myself.
