I've heard of this place from a friend and decided to check it out consider my love for wings . First things first you have to call 30 minutes ahead of time to place your order so they can prepare it for you, not a problem for me because it just means when you walk in the food will be ready for you . The place itself isn't large at all, with only 3-4 small tables to dine in. Granted this specific area isn't really made to dine , just carry out but it's nice that give you an option if you wanna stay and eat the wings . I ordered a 14 piece of hot wings and I must say that these are incredible tasting with not only with flavor but with texture . I don't think I ever ate wings that are as crisp as these. Not only the crisp gives you the amazing satisfaction of hearing the crunch in every bite that you take, but the fact that it is crisp makes is easy and also fun for the meat to come right off the bone . Granted the wings are relatively small , and the price is a little steep considering the size , but the way they are made , the flavor , the small kick of spice that isn't too hot but hot enough that you feel it, is definitely worth it . These wings are one of the best I've had and compared to places that sell wings ( Buffalo Wild Wings , Applebees , TGI , Pizza Hut etc) these are by far the best wings. They aren't the most flavorful , and they definitely aren't the biggest or large at all, but the perfect combination of moderate spice , flavor , tenderness , and crisp make them fun to eat And will leave you coming for more . While the franchise on Lemoine is not the most chic of the locations I have been to, the chicken is still fried to perfection. I loved the fact that they let you get a variety so I got half/half of wings and drumsticks and half/half of soy garlic and hot/spicy sauce. However, I was sorely disappointed when I opened the box. The fried chicken and onion rings are fine but the popcorn shrimp is such a waste of money. They use the smallest shrimp, smaller than the size of peas, and batter them so much. Found my new fav chicken place in Fort Lee! We ordered the large combo w/ half soy garlic & half spicy sauce: the chicken was fried perfectly & the sauce didn't have an artificial after taste unlike some other Korean fried chicken joints. Even the side radish wasn't overly sweet which I rlly liked! The interior/bathroom was rlly clean as well. Not sure how recent this was but I saw a sign saying tht a new management had taken over. Although I have never dined in, I have had take out order before and must say the chicken is delicious. When I walked in, it seemed like I was greeted by the owner who was very nice. There are only really two choices to make at Bonchon: Spicy or Mild, Med(12 wings) or large(20 wings). I bought a large order of the milder Soy Garlic which was $20. $1 a wing is a bit pricey considering other places but the wings are that delicious, you will crave more. She let us bring our own alcohol in since they only served Snapple n soda. She recommended the liquor store across the street and advised us to order our chicken beforehand since it can take awhile. It is a bit pricey and the portions aren't that big, my friend and I payed a bit over $20 for one order of wings with 2 drinks, but overall the quality was great. Can fried chicken wings be modified from the old formula? Bon Chon certainly does its best and it succeeds. Before trying Bon Chon, I had given up on fried chicken. KFC, Popeye's, Roy Rogers, etc. I thought fried chicken was the beacon of grease, fat, and future CABG operations. Bon Chon completely whacked this convention out of my head. The fried chicken is flavorful (soy garlic or hot) with little grease to worry about. I may still worry about a future coronary bypass but maybe it will be double instead of quadruple with Bon Chon. The Fort Lee, NJ branch is very small. The best part is that it is BYOB. The worst part is that the food takes about 20-30 minutes to prepare so it's prudent to call before going. If not, at least you'll be buzzed by the time the food comes out. To quote Dave Chappelle (For What It's Worth), "If you don't like chicken and watermelon, there's something wrong with YOU". I love fried chicken. I've eaten Swanson TV dinner fried chicken and been happy. I've dragged my wife into the middle of Newark, NJ for fried chicken before. Even if it's not good fried chicken, I still love it. BonChon though is probably some of the best fried chicken I've ever had (maybe second only to a place in Jackson, MS called Julep's ... but it's pretty doubtful I'll ever be down there by choice again). If you haven't had Korean fried chicken before, you absolutely must try it. It's marinated in soy and garlic and then twice fried or something. According to the menu I got while picking up an order for the office, BonChon chicken ... 1. Uses a proprietary sauce that stays on the chicken, not on your fingers. 2. Is fried in a unique method to create the delicate taste of chicken with minimized fat. 3. Is high in protein and low in calorie. 4. Soy garlic sauce has benefits of garlic; hot sauce contains Vitamins A and C. Now I don't know if any of that is true, but I've elected to believe it ... and I will continue to include BonChon as part of my healthy and balanced diet. read more

Firstly, I want to say my opinions about Korean food are reflective more of authentic Korean rather than fusion Asian as I was born there and raised there. Honestly, I would've given it a 3.5 just for the food, but the terrible service and no delivery were too big to deserve it a 4. For Koreans, fried chicken is the epitome of delivery food, and as pretty much all other fried chicken places in the area offer FREE delivery, it's a bit of a turnoff for BonChon to not offer it. Also, when my husband called to order, the lady was SUPER mean and a bit demeaning too. When we arrived at the store to pick-up, we had to wait about 10 minutes even though we called 40 minutes earlier, which I think is what they asked you do. The lady (who seemed like the owner) wasn't even apologetic about it. Just rude the entire time. Not even a trace of good business manners. As for the food itself, we ordered the half mild/half spicy of the large wings+drumsticks. Good portion. It came with pickled radishes. Typical--done right, but not special. The highlight was the sauce. I liked the spicy ones; my husband the mild. If you can't take heat, I would recommend the mild. The chicken, though, was quite dry. Overall, I would order again only if I really wanted to taste the spicy sauce again. But besides that, no delivery, horrible manners of the owner, dry chicken... But Bon Chon they fry their chicken 2 times and this method eliminates all the fat! Plus it is made to order so it is FRESH. Make sure you call 15-25 mins in advance before you go pick it up. 2 flavors and 2 sizes. Garlic/soy and hot/spicy medium- $12 large- $20 It is a bit pricey for fried chicken but it is so worth it.
