Not exactly what I was expecting. We were instructed to seat ourselves which was fine albeit the table felt sticky; getting a drink menu was difficult. Once I was given one I asked about the price of Jinro- my waitress said she would check on it for me. It took a while and another waitress to get a response- they apparently didn't have half of their drink menu available including Jinro. My wife and my son shared some wings and the bulgogi fries- those were good according to them. I tried some bulgogi fries and those were pretty good. I would recommend those two items. I wanted something less fried and I order the bibimbap with the spicy chicken- that turned to be a mistake. When it was delivered there was barely any chicken in it and the bowl itself was 85% white rice. Not worth it at all for 19 dollars. The Drumsticks at Bon chon are delicious. Definitely my new go to fried chicken spot. On top of having the best Korean friend chicken in Houston, they're bulgogi fried rice hits the spot for me everytime. Couple these foods with some ice cold mango lemonade( or st Arnold's on draft), and you will most definitely be more than satisfied. If I'm extra hungry(skipped breakfast or finally canceled gym membership) I'll even order the salmon avocado ball and some season French fries. I have been here multiple times. Every time I order ahead, I would always have to wait 10-15 minutes after my pick up time for my food. Never complained because I do understand things can get busy. However, this weekend, I placed a huge order approximately 9 HOURS ahead of time. We PAID the entirety of the bill online & we received a text message and email CONFIRMING OUR ORDER & another stating the that the order was READY. We got there and they simply stated that they didn't make the order because we didn't answer their additional phone call @ the time of pick up. After we had received a text AND we paid for the whole order?! You spend about $140 on wings that you paid and ordered for in advance with confirmation from the restaurant itself only to get there to say your order isn't ready and wait 1 hour for your food. Apparently, it is company policy not to bring sauce samples in cups. It MUST be on wings or whatever is being served. We Also got a sample of the kimchi Coleslaw. The place was extremely accommodating. The wings, both flats and drumettes were cooked well and amazing. They were double fried. Crunchy, tasty and well worth the wait. I've come to this place a couple of times and always thought they were decent enough. But tonight on 06/24/2023 boy did I have the worst customer service I've had in a long time. My Wife ordered food and paid for it online. We were told that the food would be ready at 9:10 pm. I go in actually at 9:15 pm. When I walk in, I see a young lady at the bar who doesn't even acknowledge me like I was Casper the friendly ghost. I see customer at the bar who looks to have been waiting for a long time get visibly frustrated by the wait. After about 3 minutes of us both not being acknowledged she finally addresses the customer in front of me as if he didn't wait for her to acknowledge him long enough. The guy asked for a drink and she initially tells him, it's legally against the law for her to serve him a drink on the left side of the bar but that she could serve him a drink closer to her register. Which he replies, "I know, that's why I wanted the beer in your direction." Instead of acknowledging that SHE made a mistake, she attempts to try to correct the customer on how he pointed at the wrong area which is the reason she made the mistake. It was a weird exchange that she prolonged which the man was just trying to get his order and eat. After she finally gets his order after that weird exchange I finally believe that she's going to address me now so I can get my food and leave. No, she turns back to the register and starts typing again as if I'm not sitting at the bar. At this point I'm getting frustrated and at this point I decided to go up to the young lady to ask for my food that I've already paid for online. Once I go up to the register she finally ask, "How can I help you sir?". But her tone and demeanor comes off as if I'm bothering her. I tell her I'm here to pick up an order, which she grabs from behind her as it was sitting there the whole time. She lays it on the bar and says absolutely NOTHING to me. Not a here you go sir or anything. Just put my food down without even looking at me. Close to 10 minutes had went by at this time. I can't remember this young ladies name but whoever was working the register DOES NOT need to be in the front serving customers. It's a bad look on your business. There's plenty of other chicken places in Katy and this is how we're treated? I won't be back till y'all make some changes in customer service! read more

Corporate needs to come and review this branch. I am a loyal fan of Bon Chon. Food quality at this location is terrible. Bon chon wings and their tenders are known to have a crisp and crunchiness on the outside that is next to none. I have ordered from this location 3 times in the past month and every time the chicken wings and tenders have been soggy wet and undercooked in the middle. I have been very disappointed as I have been to several Bon Chons all over the US and this has never been an issue. It seems like they are using a different recipe for the sauce as other bon chons. The restaurant itself was not busy. There was 1 table occupied and 2 people sitting at the barstool area. Again, she repeatedly told me "you don't understand" then rolled her eyes at me. At this point I became irritated with her eye roll. So again I asked if she can double check the bag on the counter to see if it's my order so I'm not having to wait for a new order and waste more time. I also don't want to pay twice! She didn't budge and I'm thinking she might not understand me clearly so I asked to speak with someone else or a mgr. She turned and walked away. Didn't see her go look for anyone so I stepped out to call Yelp/GrubHub and explained the situation. Was informed by the rep that the restaurant confirmed the order at 5:12 PM and that they will contact the restaurant to clarify. Rep came back and said she couldn't get in touch with anyone there. While on the phone I walked back in so the rep can speak with a mgr or the hostess herself but she didn't bother to tend to me when I came back in so I asked the rep to cancel my order completely and refund me. Perfectly crispy on the outside with just the right amount of fantastic soy glaze. Inside, they are juicy, hot, fresh and fall off the bone! The fries are just as awesome...indescribably good!!! The service was fantastic as well. Everyone was friendly and food came out quick! Even my drink was stellar (a lychee martini). Why did I think this place was for asians? what we paid was so not worth the food, the service... the only things we liked were the spicy sauce and the chicken strips. Strips were soft and warm! However the sauce was like half-covered. For example on the other side of the chicken was literally not covered. no sauce at all. (even after we asked the waiter for more sauce - charged us 1.95 x2) ... i mean when you add more sauce you expect it to be drenched, right? like there was no difference. by the way the original sauce tasted like some not-tested- honey walnut sauce which i give you a 1 star. finally the spicy rice cakes are the most disappointing because omg, the sauce is so not spicy it's too bland. tastes like water. We were served by Krystelle, and she seemed pretty all over the place. We ordered two lunch combos of the fried chicken: one soy garlic and one spicy. The spicy ones, while delicious, were EXTREMELY spicy. Overall, the chicken was the best thing we ordered. I went through a password reset just to write this post. I honestly couldn't believe they serving this dish and calling it Korean food. I ordered the spicy chicken dish with the rice cakes and veggies. The veggies literally looked like they should have been served at wing stop. They stir fried carrots were served as carrot sticks! Still shocked as I'm writing this starting at my food. This dish should cost a merely $8 at most. It had melted cheese on it...big fad in Asian dishes now. It can be great if done right! I grew up all over Asia and my fiancé grew up in the Midwest/South. He even knew this dish was trash! Sorry. We've been ordering takeout from Bonchon for a couple years now. Their original menu and quality was great. We loved the spicy chicken and ordered at least once every two months. Fast forward to 2022, we just received our order and frankly it was terrible. 1. We received no notification our order was about to be delivered. If we didn't have a ring camera, we'd have never known that our order had been delivered 2. The chicken looked like it was cooked and sat under a heat lamp all night. It was dry and flavorless and sooo small 3. Spicy shrimp, not spicy, and unremarkable, no flavor, bland and dry. 4. Delivery used to be a nice box and looked professional, now everything is thrown in a cheap styrofoam container like a second-rate food truck. We come here about one or two times a month and the last three times we have had the same issues. The service sucks and it's never busy, the staff just seems bothered by the customers. They stand behind the bar 80% of the time on their phones. I'm in the service industry and I understand being bored & slow but you have to take advantage when customers do come in on days like that. We have watched this place go down hill. Management needs to do better and retrain this staff. I will say however, the food is delicious and that has not changed. That is probably the only part that has kept us coming back. Unfortunately, we have even had issues when trying to order take out from this place though. The girl on the phone kept interrupting and wasn't even trying to understand what we were ordering. Eventually we just hung up & settled for a different dinner option. Arrived at 7:20 PM and approached the woman who was at the front. Was very rude to me telling me that I never ordered any food. It happens as people have bad days and it can happen. She kept ignoring me and would not take for the fact that I placed an online order until I showed her the order confirmation.
