Every Bonchon, it doesn't matter which country it is in, has a really really slow serving time. I have visited in 4 different countries but they're all the same. It's a Bonchon standard. No matter if the place is packed or not, you'll still have to wait a very long time for the food to be served on your table. That's the only drawback. Can't eat here when you're in a hurry. Otherwise, if you're willing to wait, their chicken is crispy, tender and juicy. All the menu items are delicious! I always order extra daikon side dish to go and munch on it at home. read more

FINALLY OPEN!!! The "Coming Soon" sign is down and the neon OPEN light is ON!!! I've been waiting for this restaurant to open forever now. Let's be clear that they just opened. Which means they're not ready for all the people who have been dying for this location to open. Take out finally happened today. Service is still a little slow, The bathroom ran out of paper towels (but was refilled once I brought attention to it); you know he basic just opened craziness. So let's not give them such a hard time. Come for the chicken and all the Korean and Asian fusion goodness! What I ordered: 1. I came here for the chicken. Specifically the soy garlic in all flats (just the wing and not the drummet). I think they are more flavorful then the drumsticks. $2 up charge for all flats, but worth it. 2. I tried and rated the Bonchon in Elk Grove. What I got there was great. This location is a little more convenient for me so we decided to give it a try. This location is still "Take-away or Delivery Only;" thus, we couldn't experience the freshly prepared food, as it's intended to be. That said, the chicken wings were still AWESOME! We ordered the soy/garlic and the spicy hot. Both were fantastic! And let me just say... their hot is hot! It's really good, but it is too spicy for the kids. Food here is not bad, but price is fairly high. First time coming here -- a few weeks out from their opening day on a weekday, during lunch hour, so it was not too busy. The service was good - was seated right away, order taken not long afterwards and my waiter brought me more water & napkins without me needing to ask. Got the soy garlic drums (since they were out of boneless wings) & Korean Bulgogi Tacos. The drums (4 pieces/order) were quite large (in my opinion of course) - enough for a meal for 1 person. I was full after eating just 2 of these, but then I also have a relatively small stomach. It was very crispy on the outside with the flavorful sauce and piping hot meat on the inside. Ended up shoving all 4 down cause I knew it wouldn't taste good when it's not hot and crispy. The bulgogi tacos were A-OK, could be better in terms of flavor. The tortilla wrapping was a tad dry. Since the chaos with 2020, I have officially tried the chicken this year we ordered the 30 piece chicken in the spicy flavor, it was absolutely amazing and delicious. I would recommend the spicy flavor if you really enjoy spicy and want that extra kick! it can get very spicy after you've had a couple bites. they have other flavors as well such as soy sauce and garlic you could also do half-and-half. My family usually orders the 30 piece and it's about $38.99 with a side of either coleslaw or pickled radish. One time I got the kimchi coleslaw and thought it might not be good because it's different but I absolutely love it! It's delicious! read more

I love this spot among the ones in sacramento and elkgrove. They kept the whole wing while the other stores chop off the end wing. I love the end wing because it's the most crunchy part! To me, this restaurant's wings are more flavorable and crunchy. They even offer steamed rice, and look how much they give! The other restaurant doesnt ofer steamed rice... Their new drink, the strawberry lemonade soda is great! The waiter make it only when you order it. Meaning the waiter crushed the strawberry and lemon on spot. They sanitize the pens before you sign the receipt. After they charge your credit card, they sanitize it before handing it back. My boyfriend and I prefer this spot over wingstop and bww. read more

The food is amazing! The chicken Katsu is great because they use chicken breast. The staff is friendly and really on top of things like ensuring your cups are filled by bringing a little vase or bringing extra napkins. I remember waiting ions for this place to open and they went through tons of roadblocks and delays in opening. She said the wait took forever. It feels so weird to type this out loud, but I love bonchon. I love bonchon deeply and patiently. I want to know how bonchon's day was, what made them laugh and who they hate at work. I will be here for you bonchon, biding my time until we can be together again; I dunno. I had take-away service from here yesterday, and first of all the chicken was delicious. Secondly, they made it really easy for me to just walk in, pay and then leave. You see, take-out service is highly dependent on the whole taking it home thing. They've NAILED that here. Went here for a birthday dinner and had a good time. We were a small party and we're happy with all of the food we ordered. The best wings are the Soy Garlic so try them out! We also order some of the spicy wings and for people who like spicy, they were SPICY! The flavor was good but they were pretty spicy. The wings also come with either pickled radish or coleslaw. I'm not normally fond of coleslaw but this one was actually good. We also ordered the edamame which wasn't evenly salted but still ok and the popcorn shrimp which was typical popcorn shrimp and nothing special. The server was nice and helpful and someone behind the bar who may have been a manager was funny and joking with us and my boyfriend. Also gave him a piece of ice cream pie with a candle as he noticed we came in with a birthday balloon. We were actually looking to go into the Mexican restaurant right next door. But we were curious to find out what this place was about so we went in just to look at the menu. It was very clean and all the people that were dining looked happy and we were greeted right away by a very nice young man. We decided to stay and have dinner there and boy was that a great idea! The food was amazingly good, but it was nothing compared to the amazing service that we received. I went to the restaurant and was first (first in line for service), but the people behind me for sit in service were priority for the restaurant before I was helped. I notified the person who greeted us I was first in line, but he opted for the sit in service took as it took precedence over the queue. Food is good, but for in person service this day, I would have thought first some first serve. read more

Many Natomas natives were brimming with anticipation when the COMING SOON sign popped up in the Raley's shopping center. When they finally opened, the wait was out the door, and business has slowed some. But I love this place. The soy garlic fried chicken is to die for, and has been consistent in flavor along with their fried rice and jap chai noodles. I do like the spicy chicken, but my taste buds can only handle so much of it, while my family is not that into spicy foods. The 6-3-6 offering of six boneless wings, 3 drumsticks, and 6 bone in wings is our go to selection when it comes to our usual family meal, as the small size is not enough chicken for the 3 of us, but the medium is too much. The steamed buns are another highlight, and the stuffed salmon ball thing is something to marvel at visually but was just okay in taste. Another thing to point out, and something I always forget about is their happy hour. The appetizers are discounted and vary from their potstickers which are also on their soy garlic or spicy sauce, fries, calamari (meh), and other items, but the steal is a $1 off their beer and wine, which are reasonably priced already and this location has a nice variety on tap and in bottles. They also have solid lunch specials during the week, but I'm not around, otherwise I could be here everyday (except when they are closed on Tuesdays). It's a bit pricey in my opinion but I still get wings from here because it's just that good haha. I called in my order and it was ready in the exact 15min time I was told when it would be ready for pick up. The place says it closes at 9pm which seems early for a Friday but they were still seating and serving people walking in at 8:45pm and were still busy with a few other people waiting for their take out orders. Let me start off by saying the staff and food has always been great from this Bonchon! We've eaten there often since they opened and the whole family loves it. That being said, I made our families normal order of chicken strips and a side. I picked the food up and brought it home and was floored with what I seen. The usual chicken strip meal is usually in a nice box and has huge strips that are delicious! The box I opened was a crappy new box with what looks like Carl's jr chicken strips but worse. The chicken was Itty bitty and terrible. I called the restaurant and asked if they changed their chicken strips or did they give me a kids meal on accident. They informed me that the franchise doesn't want to serve "the good chicken" anymore. Very disappointing, hopefully enough people complain and they bring it back otherwise we won't be back. read more

If I was rating just on food this place would be a 5! Unfortunately, the service has been mediocre at best every time we've come in. Giving a rating of 1-2 for service depending on the day. Had dinner here recently and we were ready to order for about 8 minutes before our server came over. Wouldn't be so bad if we weren't watching 4 servers just standing around together most of the time while we were waiting. We finally ordered. Our order included drinks. We watched our server kind of wander around for awhile before stopping in front of the TVs to watch the football game. Didn't get our drinks until 10 mins later. While we were eating we witnessed a server smack another one on their butt and another server flip off one of their coworkers. I love Korean Fried Chicken but this Bonchon really disappointed me. I noticed that the cooks in the back had no mask and walked around the store like it was no issue. This is a health concern, especially with the ongoing pandemic. Additionally, I was told my order would take 20 minutes but instead ended up waiting 46 minutes before being told it would take additional time. I had a small order as well so be mindful about the variation in wait times for food. Overall, It was disappointing to see many others coming in and leaving with food while I sat around waiting for food prepared without proper precautions. read more

After 45 mins, my husband and brother left to pick up the food. It's been one hour already and my husband didn't even get the food. i called my brother because i guess he's inside the restaurant waiting for the food. i asked if he paid for it already because it's almost two hours wait and we will just cancel. He did pay for it and even gave them tip! I called the restaurant, talked to a guy, he was very apologetic. First, i told him...we called at 6pm and now it's almost 9pm, If you already know that your busy why did you take my order? My kids are hungry and everything is closed. I usually purchase the family meal (fried chicken, fried rice, and two sides) I avoid the fried rice - super plain but it's included with the family meal so why not French fries are always yummy Picked radish - love Popcorn chicken - large portion. This should really be a fast food place, but for some reason has a bar and feels like a sit-down restaurant. You end up getting the worst off both worlds: stuffy sit-down ambiance with fast food-quality service. All staff communications were purely transactional--no niceties or attempts at any personal connection, no response even when I thanked a staff member. They competently give you what you ordered in a timely manner, but don't expect anything above that. What can expect are a lot of blank stares and mouth-breathing from a bunch dudes dressed in black standing around pretending to be busy. Bonchon is super delicious! I love the soy garlic wings & kimchi bacon fried rice! It heated up in the microwave next day great, the chicken is so crispy, and even sitting in the take out container it didn't get soggy. It's wonderful! The salmon ball was very filling... it resembles sushi to me, with out the rice and nori. Fries were super good... beautiful display. The sweet crunch was my group's favorite- we have had soy garlic a lot in the past at other places but sweet crunch was a pleasant change! Overall the chicken was juicy and the outside was crunchy. My boyfriend ordered the coleslaw near the end to try to go with his spicy wings. My friends likened the taste to KFC coleslaw and really enjoyed it. It's got a pretty good helping size too!
