The spicy wings were too spicy for me but I loved the regular garlic soysauce wings! They were moist on the inside and well fried/crunchy on the outside. The waitress was super nice and really helped explain the different menu options and which ones she prefers. The portions are great and I love that there's a huge parking lot! I wasn't a huge fan of the tacos but my boyfriend was and they're huge!! read more

Phenomenonal. When anyone says KFC around the Bay, we mean the legit amazing goodness that is Korean Fried Chicken. That's right, BonChon is a national treasure. My brother called them around 6:10pm on a Wednesday evening with an order for: large wings/drums mix with 50-50 sauce, medium tenders with 50-50 sauce, takoyaki, and sides of rice, kimchi coleslaw, kimchi, and radishes. They told him the food would we ready for pick up by 6:30pm. I headed out and once I arrived by 6:35pm, they had my order ready for pickup. Awesome and superbly convenient. This place is in a shopping square next to some other eateries and a large drugstore (CVS I think) with a huge parking lot so parking is a non-issue. If you're waiting for your chicken to go, or a table, chill at the local bubble tea shop next door to burn some yummy time. Anyway, the chicken is incredible. Flavorful, with a beautiful crunch on the outside with a most juicy inside. The sauces (garlic and spicy) are both delicious. Careful though, after 2 or 3 pieces, the spicy ones really add up fast, before you know it, your nose is running and your mouth is feeling the dull burn. Worth it though. The kimchi coleslaw doesn't really taste much like kimchi, more like a slightly spicier redder colored coleslaw. Really good though to balance out the spicy chicken. All the other sides are super good too, honestly can't go wrong. Takoyaki was so so, I'm going to pass on getting this next time. I think my favorite part (aside from the deliciousness and fast turnaround time) is that they package your 50-50 sauce separately. That means in a large: each 15 pieces go into a separate container. In a medium, they add a divider in between the two. That way everyone happy with what they want, it's obvious which is which, and no cross contamination happening. Overall, so good. How have you not come out here yet? Stop reading my review and just try this amazingness for yourself. You'll thank me (and all the other reviewers) later lol. read more

Came here because my son had heard about it and loves spicy chicken wings. There was a long line and we were told there was a 30min wait. We were seated in about 20minutes. This restaurant is a casual one, seemed they do have a lot of to-go orders as well. The service was a bit on slower side, they didn't have the chicken salad that was on the list and I was told they are out of the chicken. So I opted for the tofu salad which they had. The side order of coleslaw was VERY small, and so were the ones served with the meal. My son enjoyed his BBQ chicken wings. Not sure if I would go out of my way to come here and wondered why there was such a long queue to get into the restaurant. read more

Too disorganized and always way behind schedule. This final time I got there after the scheduled pick-up time and was told it was almost ready and just needed a few more minutes. After half an hour of trying to keep a toddler and a dog from melting down and still no food in sight I gave up and went home. read more

We love Bonchon and have patronized them since opening at least a couple times a month. The latest price increases and shrink-flation have finally put us over the edge. While the prices have consistently increased, it was always fairly reasonable. Even with the big increases during Covid, we could always justify the extra money. Now in addition to increased prices, they decreased the size of the small combo from 9 pieces to only 6 pieces. All in that is more than a 40% increase and I cannot justify almost $50 for the two of us. I wish the company well and hopefully enough people will stop eating there and they readjust. read more

Love it everytime we are able to visits.. This place literally has the crispiest chicken wings anywhere I've ever had wings. The light glaze they toss these in is just the right amount because the wings never get soggy. We kept it simple this round. Spicy wings, rice, pickled radishes, kimichi, edamame. The flavor is light and savory Asian spice but they pack a punch. You do not notice it immediately but intensifies as you continue to eat. I usually get a mix of sweet and spicy and quickly remembered why. My mouth was on fire. It is so good you can stop, yet so spicy that it starts to hurt. Thes wing are cooked perfect and the crispy batter is addictive. It is literally the perfect texture. The place has very Simple decor, decent service and excellent wings!!! Bonchon has ruined chicken wings for me at any other place.. probably forever.. their wings are so crispy, juicy, and so addicting. I normally get half and half on a order. I've never had a problem with parking here, even though the lot is shared with so many other businesses. The only down side is the wait sometimes. Especially if you are ordering to go. Sometimes I'll phone in my order, and still end up having to wait an additional 20-30 mins before I can get my order. But then again, my craving for those wings let's me put up with that. lol read more

How have I not reviewed this place?! Definitely 5/5 stars! My cousin introduced korean fried chicken to me years ago and I've been hooked. There are other Bon Chon locations in the Bay Area, but I always find myself going to the Sunnyvale location. The service and quality's definitely better here. On weekends and/or dinner times, it can get busy, so be prepared to wait. You can also call in to pick your order too. I usually get the mixed (drumsticks & wings) at half soy garlic and half spicy soy garlic. IT'S SO GOOD. Crispy skin & juicy meat. What more can you ask for? It comes in a side of radish, which is a nice palette cleanser. If you're looking for sides, you can't go wrong with their seasoned curly fries. I've had a few people hooked on this place already. Highly recommend. read more

The first time I tried Bonchon I got serious food poisoning from them (the one in San Mateo). Boyfriend convinced me to give them another chance, considering it's a different location. I walked in with my milk tea and was told "no outside food and drinks", however, the sweet waitress told me that she'll make an exception this time. I didn't care for the soy flavor last time, so this time we just got the spicy tenders. I love how crunchy they are! The spice is perfect with the radish. We also got the Korean tacos. It was so good! The sauce was perfect with the marinaded meat. Great customer service. No food poisoning so yay! read more

If you haven't had Bonchon, I'm sorry. It is the standard for fried chicken. Their soy garlic fried chicken in its many forms (wings, strips and drumsticks) is other worldly: crispy, flavorful and moist. This location also adds great customer service, but make sure to call your order in ahead of time so you don't have to wait. read more

Bonchon is so bomb! The wings are , the potstickers are delish, and the tacos will make you rethink the definition of the word taco. Also, the fries are pretty good On another note. the reason they are only getting 4 stars instead of 5 has to do with ordering Bonchon for delivery. If this applies to you, read on: As ordering Togo and online has become more prominent in the past year, I do find one thing frustrating: I use DoorDash regularly and Bonchon used to have the ability to edit items. But they removed that feature sometime in the last year. As someone who is allergic to onions, I cannot eat the tacos without having onions removed. Unfortunately Bonchon does not allow us that ability on Doordash and as such, I've had to stop ordering from them. Hopefully they can figure this out and get this fixed as I do miss having Bonchon delivered. read more

Credit card only. Parking: There is a public lot in the back. I got the spicy wings and the garlic soy wings to go. It took a while for the food to come out but it came out pipping hot. I recommend ordering to go in advance because even when I came in to order off hours, it still took 15 minutes. Ask for extra napkins because the sauce was all over the bag and my hands were sticky. Slathered in sauce, the wings were still pretty crunchy. The spicy wings had a kick to it. I would rate it as a mild in spiciness. The soy wings were sweet. I am not a fan of my food drenched in sauce but it is good. This is pricey for chicken so eat the chicken with carbs. read more

This Bon Chon's wings were not as good as a Bon Chon I tried in Southern California or the Bon Chon in Boston but it's still pretty tasty. The onion rings $6.95 were meh. And the curly fries were just okay $6.95. The japchae $13.95 was fun to try, but all of the sides are just filler. The fried chicken is where it's at. read more

Best Bonchon location and KFC I've ever had. I've had KFC in a lot of Bay Area locations and a popular place in Chicago. I always compare it to KFC from this location. All the chicken choices are perfect. The only thing I dislike is that there are two sides that come with the chicken. I don't like the radish or the coleslaw so I never get the free sides. But... it's nice they have free sides. We usually get the japche (Korean glass noodles). They feel expensive but worth the flavor. The people have always been helpful, friendly, and efficient. This place deserves 10/5 stars read more

We ordered small chicken wings and zucchini fries. This was sufficient for two people. I ordered from the Yelp app itself where it gives an ETA for the order. I actually thought I had to wait until the designated time (which was about half an hour wait) for it to be ready, but we called in a few minutes early to check and it was already done. So useful note is to check with them even before the the app says it's ready so you don't have cold food. :) The chicken was piping hot, which is good. And the zucchini fries weren't as hot but acceptable. In summary, it was a easy, quick, convenient and tasty experience. read more

OH MY GOD. BEST KFC EVERRRR!!! I need more right now. I heard great things about bon chon but never really took the time to try it and I'm so glad I did! Service: Good! Ordered the half & half soy garlic and spicy. The spicy wings are a lot spicier than I expected and I could handle spicy. After a while, it's not too bad but I prefer the soy garlic! They were so crispy, not oily, and so mouth watering. Highly recommend the soy garlic. Appetizer: Ordered the pot stickers and those were crispy too!! The biggest fail were the Korean tacos (more like a burrito) they were huge and really messy. The taste wasn't completely there either and it'll come after your meal since it takes longer to make. Compared to the Santa Theresa location, this BC doesn't stack up. I've ordered rice on the side and sometimes it comes in a larger container, while other times in a much smaller one. I was really displeased at the size that came with yesterdays order. $2.36 for that? The rice was also very soggy and the chicken I thought was on a drier side. Korean fried chicken!!! It's one of my favorite foods! Bonchon does not disappoint and is one of my favorite go-tos. My bf took me to Sunnyvale because he says this is his favorite location, and man you can really tell the difference between this and other locations. First let me start by saying that the menu is super simple, which is nice because it takes away the pressure of not knowing what to order. They have the fried chicken soy garlic or the spicy. We order the medium order of half soy garlic and half spicy. The chicken that they give us are huge, which is like any other bonchon locations. But you can really tell that the marination is a lot better here. The half order of spicy chicken had me going. It was so spicy holy crap. The other locations was not as spicy as it was here and I love spicy foods!! The soy garlic was also really flavorful as well and perfect for those who cannot handle spice. We also ordered a side of seasoned fries, and yoooo. They were curly fries. I love curly fries!! But honestly it was overkill for us. For two people, we got 10 pc chicken and a side of curly fries. We couldn't finish the chicken and the curly fries and ended up taking it home. I love this place, if you haven't had bonchon yet, come to this location!! read more

Since my trip from NYC, Ive been craving Korean fried chicken. Thank you yelpers for the tip on where I can find some and towards the sister hub. Upon my entrance, I had to write down my name to be seated as the restaurant was packed! Luckily after waiting 15mins my name was called. The layout was small and looked liked a burger joint? Service was excellent I might say as our waiter mentioned we would save money if we ordered: The 20 piece with a choice of soy garlic sauce or spicy hot garlic sauce or both. This deal banger came with 2 free sides: choices were- cole slaw, kimchi slaw, rice, and biscuits. Upon waiting, can we have a pitcher of Mango Soju pls? Mango soju- kind of watered down. Chicken-Spicy sauce was HOT!! which I knew, but soju took care of that LOL Chicken-Soy garlic sauce-Sigh chicken was crispy, not oily but barely any sauce was a fail. I had asked for more sauce and they told me no they couldn't accommodate that??? but he did offer sriracha sauce and jalapeno jelly. Cole slaw-Meh? Tofu salad-Me likey, tofu was crispy and salad dressing was sesame Kimchi slaw-Average From my comparison to NYC? New york rocks!! Tip: Put more sauce on the chicken!!! read more

Came by for a casual dinner the other night and it was definitely a casual experience, half a notch higher than fast food... Ordered a few orders, a large, and a couple mediums, both mixed with drumsticks and wings along with half and half spicy. Chicken was okay, wasn't super fresh although the batter was on the thicker side. Service was okay, although slightly facetious, with the tattooed buff Asian waiter...not sure if he was genuine...especially when he dropped a utensil on my pants and merely brushed it off?!? My craving for Korean fried chicken urged me to visit this place again. I've been here several times and realized I failed to do the great deed of writing a review for a place that keeps bringing my palate joy. I've tried several Korean fired chicken establishments in the area and this place, by a huge margin, leaves everything in the dust. The main reason is the chicken's crispy exterior, unmatched by any, with immense flavor without the need for side sauce. The method of preparation here, double fried, does not require dipping sauce, so it does not compromise the crispiness for flavor. I usually get the large order of chicken with a mix of garlic soy and spicy garlic soy, which are both outstanding. Of course I don't finish it all; it's nice to bring it home for the second indulgence. The flavor of the soy and garlic is just terrific, very pronounced, and the interior is juicy and tender. I also love to accompany the chicken with sweet potato fries and coleslaw. I've tried the kimchi coleslaw, but didn't care for it. I also like the spicy potstickers; their piquancy has a well balanced zap. Basically, can't go wrong with anything on their menu, although I have not tried any of the wraps. The service is attentive and friendly. The wait is usually long, so get here on a Saturday or Sunday 15 minutes prior to opening and you are guaranteed to be seated immediately. The interior is very well maintained and clean with a nice modern touch for decor. The dishes seem to have a lot of chips around the edges, which negatively impacts the visual appeal. Maybe it's time to get a new dish washing person. The only thing that seems to be off beat is the music, hard thumping dance mixes at 11am is not what I feel for, unless I'm just coming out of a club at 2am. All in all, I'm a big fan and would not even consider straying to another Korean fried chicken restaurant any time soon. read more

Never in a million years do I crave wings let alone Asian-style wings. I don't like wings for one reason- "Yo goober, where's the meat??" No matter how big or small the wings are, I don't think getting my fingers dirty and having to gnaw on a piece of chicken w/ barely any meat is the way to go. I have heard about this place. OK, I lied. I have seen a lot of my friends check in on Yelp or FB to Bon Chon but based on the description of the joint, it never interests me however, I know that one of my best friend, Angel C. LOVES this place and since it was way past her birthday, I wanted to treat her out to a delicious meal even if it didn't appear like my cup of tea. I even stopped by Nothing Bundt Cake to get her a red velvet bundlet; little did I know you get a free bundlet upon checking in so I utilized that and got myself a marble bundlet. I'll say this though that as I was viewing the menu, only the "white meat" portion (as opposed to the wings) jumped out at me. I am not a rice person so I never thought I would order a side of rice w/ anything (I really don't eat rice) but I got it for the monster. Out of the Korean Fried Chicken restaurants, this is definitely one of the best IMO. I don't know how they do it, but wow the batter they use is perfectly crispy and seasoned and the chicken is SUPER juicy and flavorful! I love it! I usually order the medium mixed spicy soy garlic which comes with 2 drumsticks and 6 wings and kimchi coleslaw. Once you take a bite, it impossible to stop! This place definitely knows how to cook fried chicken! What makes this place great is their batter. It's very flavorful and crispy which is a huge plus for me. Besides being extremely funny Walter is kind, respectful, and genuine despite being busy=We love that! Again, a pleasant experience versus being around rude , stressed servers. It seems as though the management here is doing a good job, scheduling servers, bartenders, kitchen staff. And did I talk about the food?? we had the brewhouse burger, which was cooked to perfection and super juicy. The wings were fire as well as the pretzel and wings. Elevated eats for game day food is always a plus in my book. I will definitely be back! Gracias Walter!
