BonChon was really efficient and careful with our order when we called near closing time on a Thursday night. We called at 830 pm for a pretty big order (20 wings, tofu salad, an order of bulgogi) to be ready for pick up by 930 pm (closes at 10 pm apparently on Thursdays). We picked up the food with everything in the bag ready for us by 930 pm, despite the place being pretty full of people. I liked everything about our food except for the tofu in the salad, which was pretty soggy, bland and tasteless. It was supposed to be breaded apparently, but it didn't really have any flavor to it. The sesame dressing in the salad was great, though. There weren't really many veggies in our other dishes, except for the bulgogi, which had some pieces of plain/steamed broccoli. The wings were perfect like usual - half spicy and half regular - and were really tasty. We had to order and pay for rice on the side, and there were a couple of radish dishes included with the chicken (the other option was cole slaw). Really good Korean fried chickens! It's in a plaza so lots of parking spots. I always get the combo of half and half ( half soy garlic and Korean spicy). I also love their garlic fries. The drum stick are huge! The wings are small. I prefer to eat it at the restaurant if you can because the food will get cold if you bring it home. A small box of 5 drumsticks will run you about $12 something which is pretty pricey when you can get a whole bucket at KFC according to the commercials I see. I think the quality is way better though? They use air chilled chicken here which tastes better IMO. The skin was thick and crispy which I really enjoyed and the flavors were really on point as well. The soy garlic isn't sweet which I like (I don't like sweet sauces on meats) and the spicy flavor was pretty good but it was spicy AF so I gave it to the bf. The lines and wait times can be pretty awful, but if you plan ahead and come at a good time, then you will have no issues. The restaurant is small, not really great for big groups, but is comfortable if you can manage to get a small group or just a couple of friends. The prices are steadily increasing, so don't expect a cheap meal. They offer two different types of sauces: Soy Garlic or Spicy, and if you like Spicy then just know that it is actually has a spicy kick to it, not the "spicy" that some other restaurants classify which can only be accompanied by a sweet aftertaste. I usually get the spicy sauce with drumsticks and wings and then a side of rice to complement the chicken. They give you a side of coleslaw as well, which I think is okay. Got to go here and our experience wasn't too bad. My bf was craving Korean fried chicken and he reports that he really liked it. I thought it was decent but wow the spicy sauce was pretty spicy. Avoid if you can't handle this. The fries were not that great but not the worst I've had. The front people who helped us at the counter were ok but not the friendliest. I think they need to hire maybe two more people or maybe they're just unfriendly servers. There were two parties seated and two parties including us waiting at the front. The menu are access thru the Q Code on the table. We place an order on the medium combo, korean bulgogi taco, some season fries, and soft drinks. Quite pleasant with how our order were taken and how attentive one of the waitress was. Our meal came to our table about 10 minutes. All dishes look fabulous when it arrived to our table. Amazing tasting chicken- crispy crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside, and best of all- it's not greasy. Bonchon holds the key to properly fry chicken down to a science!! After my recent trip to SoCal and hitting up one of their Korean fried chicken hotspots, I realize that the 5+ hour drive wasn't necessary. Everything I wanted and sooo much more was right underneath my nose. The heavy traffic here clearly validates how amazing the chicken and dishes are here. I do not recommend coming here absolutely famished but you can avoid the wait by coming when the establishment opens. The restaurant is small but it does come equipped with a bar area. Chicken comes in two flavors so things don't get all complicated and difficult: garlic soy or spicy. You can't loose with either one but I'd recommend do go with half & half. Bonchon, Im not sure how you keep the skin super crispy even with the sauce drizzle but I'm sure glad you do.... This is the only place where I actually eat fried chicken skin and keep wanting more- two thumbs up!! read more

We actually had ordered togo since we had a large group of friends over. We ordered the large wings with half soy garlic and half spicy. This was definitely a large portion as we still had some leftover the next day. I really enjoyed the soy garlic flavor. It was garlicy and had a hint of spice but was also savory. The spicy wings were actually pretty spicy. Our friend group can handle spice but this was very very spicy the day we got it, it was still very good! The temperature of the food was lukewarm due to probably placing a large order togo. The wings come with your choice of radish or coleslaw and we chose the radish. I am a huge fan of radish, especially with some Korean Fried Chicken. I really enjoyed the large portion. It is great when you have large groups and need something to snack on. Popular chicken place! As with all the other bonchon locations, this place gets packed really quickly! It often has a lot of folks standing waiting outside, in large groups of 5-10 folks. The chicken is as usual really tasty. Each chicken piece is Huge. The outside is crunchy, and marinated well with spicy sauce. Washing it down with some cold sapporo beer is heaven. I came back here last week. I've been to a few other Bonchon's since but this one just hits the spot! Just a tip - the drumsticks are surprisingly large so do not underestimate the portions. It's a good problem to have. We were mildly hungry and ordered the medium but would have probably been better off with a small. First time having Bonchon in CA! (I think my first time was in NY) The place is a little small, and we came during the lunch rush, so there was a slight wait, although only about ~15 minutes or so. Spicy/ soy garlic wings and drums: To be honest, I expected the size of the chicken wings/drums to be bigger, considering this was a Korean chicken place. While some pieces were a decent size, we did get at least 3-4 that were pretty minuscule. Flavor-wise, it was really good. The spiciness of the wings is no joke and had me reaching for my water after every piece. It was still enjoyable though, and super addicting! The soy garlic was pretty good, not too salty, and very flavorful. I love that the chicken skin wasn't overly battered and was super crispy. Sauce was perfect, this place neither skimped on it nor drenched the chicken in it. Bulgogi Korean tacos: Pretty good! I was quite pleasantly surprised at how big they were too, since I was expecting tiny tacos. Flavor was pretty good, although the wings are the real winner here, haha. I love that the drumsticks and wings that Bonchon uses haven't been subjected to this shrinking phenomenon that seems to be happening at every other fried chicken establishment out there. Sure there were some pieces that were a little smaller but it's been a long time since I've seen a drumstick that big at a restaurant! This time we came for a later lunch on a Saturday afternoon and while there was a wait for the dining room, we were able to snag some seating at the bar. If you want to eat with a bigger group, you might consider ordering for take out. While we were sitting at the bar we watched them churn out take out orders like no other! I wound up sharing a small combo of soy garlic flavored chicken with radishes on the side. The small comes with 6 wings and 3 drumsticks. Just so we weren't eating only chicken, we also ordered a side of fries. The chicken came out promptly. It was hot but not too hot to dig in to immediately. The breading on the chicken is a little different than at other K(orean)FC type places that I've had. The skin part wasn't exactly crispy but it was a sheet of nicely fried skin. It kind of comes off really easily like a sheath. Super weird description I know. It was really good though and the soy garlic was a good choice. I did like having the radishes after every piece to reset for another trip to flavor town. We were almost done our chicken when we noticed that we still hadn't gotten our fries. The server that was helping us out immediately checked with the kitchen and let us know our order had slipped through the cracks and that she'd get it rectified immediately. The fries came out piping hot not long after. It was a pretty big portion and I'm not sure that we really needed it to be full to be honest. We waited for a few minutes before we were seated at a table in the back. This place could seat up to 48 people so it wasn't that big. The menu was simple and they were sold out of chicken strips. We decided on large wings ($33.95) with half and half sauce. One was soy garlic and the other was spicy. It came with sides so we got three kimchi coleslaw. Our food came out fairly quickly and it looked like it was a lot but for the four of us, it was no problem. The spicy ones were spicy but not spicy enough for you to be sweating (most people anyways I think). The soy garlic was the more popular one at our table since that was the first to be finished. If you don't like spicy then soy garlic would be the only other option you had. The staff here were nice and friendly. They make the best Soy Garlic flavor chicken and I haven't found a place that can beat it. I'm usually biased towards this place whenever I try something else.
