One of the most awful meals- ordered calamari app was sooo dry and a chewy worst ive ever had anywhere. Entree shrimp & scallops had so much blackened seasoning that is all you could taste, the shrimp & scallops way overcooked and dried out could not chew them. Everyone at our table was extremely disappointed with their meal as well. It just could not get any worse quality of food was TERRIBLE. Waste of $$ wish we had picked another place. We arrived on time for our dinner reservation and had to wait a while until we were seated, as they were very busy that Saturday night. We all thought our food was flavorful and well-prepared. I had the salmon with mango salsa and chose mashed potatoes and green beans as my sides. The salmon wasn't dry and was grilled nicely. It tasted great with the sweetness of the mango salsa. Our server was wonderful and checked on us often. My family runs on carbs and he had no problem refilling our bread. The place is dimly lit and adds to the nice ambiance for dinner. This was my first time at Bonefish Grill and I have to say I was very much pleased with my entire experience! My family and I went this past Saturday for dinner as an early father's day and birthday celebration for my dad! Parking: Convenient, free parking lot! It gets pretty filled but you should always be able to find a spot! Reservations/Service: Reservations were very easy to make online. I am very pleased with how convenient and quick they were with our confirmation. We were welcomed immediately when we entered the restaurant by our host! Our server was Andrew and he was very well-spoken, considerate and checked on us throughout our dinner. When we were ordering our food, we made a mistake and ordered an incorrect appetizer and wanted to change our order even though the ticket was sent to the kitchen. Andrew was very on top of this and quickly switched out our previous order before the kitchen started making our dish. Service here could not be more spot-on! Ambiance: Nice open bar area and dining room. The ENTIRE restaurant was PACKED, but very organized. The wait staff did a wonderful job serving everyone in a timely manner. Booths are very comfortable and the restaurant gives off a casual but a bit upper class vibe (I really liked that)! Beverages: All their beverages were made wonderfully. We had a few beers, classic mojitos and I had a cosmo. Honestly, I feel like anything on their drink menu would be good. Food: Complimentary bread: warm, soft, delicious and refillable! We also did an order of the Wild Arctic Cod, sea bass and crab cakes. They all tasted delicious but nothing that really stood out to me besides the lobster tail. Price: I think this restaurant is a bit more on the pricier end but DEFINITELY REASONABLE. Just be prepared to spend a bit more for dinner than another chain restaurant since it's mainly seafood. At the end of our meal, our server brought out our birthday cake for my dad and our host offered a free order of their bang bang shrimp for our next visit! We visited Bonefish Grill for Mother's Day and as usual had amazing service. This was my second time visiting this location and the staff there is always pleasant. They are accommodating as much as possible in regards to our picky eating family. It was a very welcoming environment. They did offer a brunch menu which I do not recommend for the future (stick to the seafood dinner), but this should be expected considering the type of restaurant that it is. I had Manhattan flavored cedar plank salmon with their house salad and kung pao Brussels sprouts. It was great. We ordered crab cake appetizer, Mahi mahi entree and Cod imperial - which our server said was their top dish. Everything tasted like it was frozen and not fresh. I've been dining at this Bone Fish location for quite some time. My experience is usually varied. As a Pescatarian, Bone Fish Grill is one of my favorite restaurants. During this visit, my server was Jamie B. I've had him as a server before. Unfortunately, this trip was not enhanced with him as our server. It was actually quite the opposite. Jamie did not remember to bring requested extra calamari sauce. He did not listen to us while we were still talking to him about the menu, he went to wait on the table in front of us. Then, when I wanted to inquire about the sauce, he was busy waiting on the tables across from us. He did not collect our plates in a reasonable amount of time and we were utterly shocked how he allowed them to pile up at our table. The bread dish, saucers, calamari appetizer plate, beef dumpling appetizer plate, and forgot to bring the requested box/container for leftover foods. We were only a party of two, so what excuse is there? Additionally, he did not come to ask, if we were okay or needed anything. He was MORE than focused on serving the table around us, than us! I would hate to think he was being discriminatory, but I do believe this to be true. While his actions may have been unconscious OR conscious. He totally disregarded serving my party at an exceptional level. Portion sizes were very small for dinner servings. For brunch, we shared the following: Creme Brûlée French Toast- basically French toast with a brûléed crust, it was a simple concept, but tasted great with the soft texture of bread and side of strawberries and cream and maple syrup. Got the social hour calamari and the portion was soooo tiny and the calamari rings were all the pointed ends, very few rings. The dipping sauce was good but overall disappointed. The mussels Josephine was good but I was expecting the previous recipe with the feta cheese and kalamata olives. Didn't it have the same name? The house salad was good. The rainbow trout was a little dry but the mahi mahi was perfect with the mango sauce. Portions are good. Our food was still good. For dessert, we had the brownie with ice cream. Great place in the Kentlands community. They were packed this Friday night and we were told it'd be about a 45 minute wait for a table, so we just decided to order at the bar. Bartenders checked in on you and were Their margaritas are very strong and delicious. we ordered the bang bang shrimp which is so delicious. The creamy blended with spicy sauce that the shrimp were in is SO good I can see myself coming back to this place again and again just for that. We also tried the crab salsa guacamole which sounded kinda random but we wanted to give it a try. It wasn't that good and tasted like something you'd get from a grocery store salad bar. My roommate and I visited here and it was a super great experience! The restaurant looks nice and has classy vibes. We sat at the bar for a more chill experience. They had this special dinner for 2 going on so that's what we went for. It's $49 total which I think is a great deal for what you get. It came with their very popular Bang Bang Shrimp, a choice of the House or Caesar Salad and a platter of 4 special seafood items with a choice of 3 signature sides. The seafood platter has shrimp, scallop, salmon and different types of fish. For the sides, we chose the steamed broccoli, jasmine rice and cheesy potatoes. The bang bang shrimp was delicious. It came with a bed of salad that balanced out the flavors. It was crispy and juicy. The caesar salad was yummy (can't really go wrong with that one!) The seafood all tasted very fresh and had a delicious variety of sauces (butter, mango salsa, terriyaki, etc.) My favorite side was definitely the potatoes. They were super cheesy. We also got some of the special drinks - Lavender Lemonade and Le Fleur. The lemonade was soo good. You honestly couldn't taste any alcohol at all. Le Fleur was also amazing, but had a bit stronger of an alcohol taste. My roommate really likes this one because she thinks it's not too sweet. Overall, it was a great experience. The service was impeccable, the food delicious and the prices reasonable for a white tablecloth sit down fine dining experience. The crab cakes appetizer had the right amount of crispiness outside and soft and moist inside. The shrimp and scallops skewer had a tad bit of smokiness to it which added to the flavor. The sides of asparagus and garlic whipped potatoes were adequate, though I would expected more garlic and more flavor! Our experience here was amazing! Our server, Pete, was one of the best we've ever had. He suggested the Bang Bang appetizer and oh my goodness that was good! Will definitely be back for that. I ended up ordering the ribeye and my boyfriend ordered the filet mignon. Both were perfectly cooked and very juicy. We also both got martinis and Pete made sure they weren't too strong. Not enough room in us for desserts, but one day hopefully we'll try the creme brûlée. The restaurant wasn't too packed and we loved the atmosphere. The restaurant is a little tucked away in the shopping center, but I guess that's kind of good. We'll definitely be back as long as Pete still works there!!! read more

THE BIG: Right off of Kentlands Blvd in the Kentlands Square Shopping Mall. In the corner building and plenty of parking outside. Super spacious inside with plenty of seating. Bar greets you as soon as you walk in and the service is impeccable. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I came here on a Sunday and didn't realize the restaurant opens at 4pm. Fortunately I came exactly at 4. We were immediately seated and the waiter knew the exact timing...for everything. It was my first time, so the waiter walked through the menu as well as told us the specials for that day. Very knowledgeable and patient. We started off with the Bang Bang shrimp appetizer, which looked small at first, but was a pretty big portion. I love bang bang sauce. I also love shrimp. So combining these two things is a stroke of genius. Going into the entrees, I got the Tuna bowl (seared tuna slices covered in sesame, avocado, rice, and veggie slices), while my other half got the crabcake, rib eye (you can upgrade to filet for an extra $7), and two sides. She got green beans and mashed potatoes. The Tuna bowl was absolutely delicious. Only 6 tuna slices so the protein was lacking and way too much rice was provided. The crabcake was delicious. The rib eye was asked for medium and it was served almost well done... Mashed potatoes were seasoned well and you can't mess up green beans. Oh and also fresh bread with pesto and olive oil is served complimentary. The bread is so warm and fresh. Be careful as it WILL fill you up fast. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Fortunately I had a gift card for $50 and the bill was $49.93. I had to ask the waiter to put a tip on my credit card which she charged a penny and I paid the tip that way. Great spot for a casual lunch! The bang bang shrimp is PHENOMENAL, crunchy and flavorful and served on top of some shredded lettuce which helps balance everything. Ordered the Atlantic salmon with mango salsa and sides of mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The potatoes were very garlicky and a little salty but super soft. Broccoli was cooked well. I've been to this location many times and we came here for a Mother's Day brunch last weekend. It started off great with the famous bang bang shrimp! You didn't go to Bonefish if you don't order that. I was always a fan of the complimentary bread since they make it fresh. We also ordered the ceviche and it was just okay for me. It had sweet potatoes which I found interesting but it had more of that than the actual seafood. For entree, I ordered the blackened baja fish tacos with a side of fries. The tacos were topped with mango slaw and again it had more of that than the actual fish. It was under-seasoned and my stomach wasn't fully satisfied. I poured some apple cider vinegar over my fries to get some flavor. My second choice was the fish and chips and I should've just ordered that. What happened to this place? It's a good place for seafood around the Kentlands area. I equate this place as a step below Legal Seafood, but with better prices. It is not a 4 star seafood restaurant, like DC Coast, BlackSalt, or Hanks Oyster Bar, in my opinion. That being said, you do get a good value for what you pay. The bang bang shrimp used to come out with chopsticks (not anymore), and is still good as the first time I've tasted. The warm bread with olive oil and olive spread is a nice touch too. The side veggies finally don't look like frozen veggies and tasted decent. I do like the side of quinoa, one of my favorite items I ate last night. The crab cake dinner was fine too with two good size lump crab meat, with zero fillers. The fish and chips was huge. 3 big pieces of fish. It was good, but it needed more of the citrus liquid in the dish. The seafood seemed like it was getting dry. Bang Bang shrimp: Based on other yelpers, it is the most popular appetizer. It's pretty good. Fried shrimp mixed with mayonnaise/dressing. Atlantic Salmon with whipped potatoes: It was flaky and cooked just right. You can choose between four different sauces (lemon butter, chimichurri, pan asian, and mango). I had the chimichurri on the side. It tasted like olive oil, salt, and cilantro. The whipped potatoes were really buttery. It also came with succotash, which was corn and edamame. It was good, but a little too oily. Ahi Tuna "Tokyo Style": This was alright. Pan-seared on the outside so it is neither cold nor hot, just warm. Not too crazy for that. Fontina Chop: I didn't try this but my dad says its too salty. It was pretty busy on a Monday night. A recent event at another Bonefish Grill reminded me why this chain is still going strong. Plus the boyfriend had never tried the famous Bang Bang Shrimp so we made our way over for dinner on a Friday night. There was a crazy wind monster in town all day so power at a lot of homes was out plus it was Friday during Lent, so the forces combined made for a very busy restaurant at 8:30pm. Regardless, make a reservation if you can. We ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp and per always, this was crisp with the delicious slightly sweet and spicy and mayonnaisy sauce goodness. The complimentary bread was also nice - hot and fresh with a nice basil mix in EVOO. For my meal I ordered the Partner's Daily Feature which was Rhea's Rockfish - a thick piece of perfectly cooked, flaky rockfish topped with sautéed spinach, jumbo lump grab meat and a lime tomato garlic sauce. Light and delicious. For my two sides I chose the Garlic Whipped potatoes which was well-seasoned and creamy and more Sautéed Spinach which was just okay for me - could have used a little more seasoning. The bf ordered the Caribbean Style Fresh Cobia which was also on the daily specials menu. Two good sized pieces of wood-grilled fresh Cobia with a freshly grilled pineapple and three jumbo grilled shrimp topped with a refreshing pineapple salsa. A pineapple fan, he loved this with his side of fries and sautéed spinach. From beginning to end, service was spectacular. The hostess that showed us to our table was friendly and our waiter was helpful and attentive even though I know he had his hands full all night. It takes a lot to invest the time to write a review. The food has to be really good or really bad. Unfortunately, Bonefish Grill gets an F- as in F minus. 1. Cesar salad used to be outstanding. Now, not so much. The Croutons are out of the grocery store aisle. They used to be home made. In fact, they should have used the stale bread they gave us. The dressing was excellent if you wanted tasteless mayonnaise. 2. The pork chop was like a limp piece of rubber. Not sure how they accomplished that, very cool science experiment. They were also successful in making it taste like a piece of chicken. 3. The ahi tuna was dry and tasteless. The wasabi had some bite, but oddly tasted like mashed potatoes. 4. The fried pot stickers were limp, the mix that came with it was, well I am not really sure. No sauce. 5. The fried kung pao brussel sprouts were soggy and they forgot the kung pao. For $75, it was really bad. F- bad. I will say, the server was outstanding. read more
