The bang bang ship was good. It's always good for the most part. The asparagus on my plate was greasy. The salmon was greasy my friend ordered fried cauliflower. Of course that was greasy and flavorless. If you didn't have a dipping sauce, you'd be lost of course I wanted to taste it without the sauce and the breading has absolutely no flavor, just wasted calories on a fried veggie. I had a $10 reward that I forgot to use sure could've used it to help pay for some of this. The potatoes were kind of paste like. I hope they were real. they had lumps, but they tasted like that stuff in the box? I've tasted the junk in the box at a friends once.. horrible! and this reminded me of those.. My fiancé and I had a gift card for Bonefish Grill and had never been before! I spent the night before searching on Yelp for the insider secrets on what I needed to try. Everything looked so good that I literally didn't decide until 1 minute before ordering. First things first, we made a reservation which was a good move considering we went at 7pm on a Friday. I was worried that I was overdressed on the car ride over, but as I was walking in I was very pleased with how nice it was! The lighting was dimmed, the candles were lit, and the vibe was definitely impressive. There were groups of people dressed in all kinds of ways so don't feel like you need to be date-night dressed, but I didn't feel weird that I was. We were seated and immediately greeted by a server who brought us water. A second server came by and asked if we wanted anything else to sip on. I ordered a Coral Reef Punch which features both pineapple and orange juice as well as a blend of Malibu rum and Bacardi. My fiance ordered a crushed pineapple martini. Those came out quickly after ordering and were so cutely garnished! It was love at first sip, though I will say I wanted to steal his once I took a sip! The pineapple flavor was so fresh in both! As an appetizer, we got the Bang Bang Shrimp. I think as first time goers it was something like a right of passage to order this. It's the #1 thing I hear about when I've asked about this restaurant. A server brought it out along with some fresh bread and oil. He asked us if we wanted chopsticks and we were both brave enough to accept. My fiancé did pretty well with those, but I switched to a fork pretty soon into it! The shrimp was the perfect blend of crispy and creamy. The sauce was subtly sweet but not lacking in the savory and salty flavor that makes breaded shrimp so good. They serve it on a bed of lettuce so occasionally a piece sticks to it, but it didn't affect the flavor at all. For the main event, I ordered one of their specials, Linguine Del Mar. He ordered Mahi-Mahi and shrimp and chose rice and vegetables as his sides. Those came out in enough time for us to finish our appetizer but not too long after ordering. As they were serving the food, I knew we were in for a treat. The linguine featured shrimp and scallops and the sides of the plate were lined with mussels. The sauce was a butter wine sauce with tomatoes mixed in. I will admit, I'm not a huge lover of mussels, and these were no exception. However, the scallops and shrimp in the buttery sauce were perfection. There was so much sauce on the plate that I used a piece of bread to soak it up and get to really enjoy the flavor. Overall, I was so happy with my selection, and I was even able to save about half for the next day. My fiancé's meal was also incredible. Something about the most incredibly seasoned piece of fresh mahi-mahi over rice is just exactly what you think of when you think of seafood. I snuck a bite and was so pleased. The vegetable was a lemon spinach, but neither of us were fans of it. It just didn't taste like there was any flavor other than steamed spinach. But we weren't heartbroken over this! The biggest credit that is due to Bonefish Grill isn't even that their food is tasty, it's that their servers and kitchen staff know how to treat their guests. Every person that came to the table treated their job as if it were important, which it is! I can't give enough praise for the team at this location. Ohhhh my goodness. We had a Yelp event here and after loving the tasty bites we sampled, I brought my husband back to enjoy it too. One of my favorite things we tried before was the apple martini and since it's only available in October, we went back to get it again. It's cinnamon, apple and vodka that they soak for six days to reach it's delicious taste. It's fall in a glass and was just as good round two. The bartenders were also super nice and were comparing crazy, loaded Bloody Mary photos with guests at the bar and brainstorming other fun drinks they could make. We got sat within about twenty minutes (with no reservation) and enjoyed a huge booth. Our server knew the specials well and was very attentive. After eating our entire bang bang shrimp appetizer and the entire loaf of bread, I was FULL. My smart(er) husband waited to eat until his entree arrived and enjoyed a good burger. I originally was going to back to get the swordfish and pumpkin ravioli entree (I never tried swordfish until I came here and it was surprisingly INCREDIBLE), but they had already run out of it for the evening. Our trip to Gatlinberg was canceled due to the hurricane aftermath, So we opted to go out to dinner for my husband's 70th birthday. We went to bonefish grill on 10/1. Service sucked. Waiting at least 15-20 minutes between courses. The main entrees came out before our soup/salads. Needless to say, the entrees were not very warm. As a bandaid, they took 1/2 off the check and gave us $50 in gift cards. This is the first time we have had issues with bonefish in the years we've been eating there. Well, today I looked at the gift cards they gave me because I was thinking about going there for our weekly date night dinner. Both $25 cards had expiration dates prior to the date we had gone (10/1). The manager giving us expired cards was pretty low to say the least. Do NOT order from "a second party." We ordered to go and spent over $100 and it was absolutely awful. The WORST fish we've ever had. My husband got the seabass and it was rubber and hard. I got the mahi mahi and it was over cooked and tasted like chicken. We also got sides of the risotto and look like they accidentally spilt the sauce all over and served anyways. Called the store talked to the manager hoping they would easily say they would recook and we could pick up at the LEAST... nope said since it was a third party site we ordered from they can't do anything. When I go out to dinner, I like to relax, visit, take my time and just enjoy the experience. We each ordered a glass of wine, he ordered a bowl of chowder and I ordered the house salad. Before we got our wine, my fiance got his soup delivered (2 min after ordering) and I didn't get my salad. I kid you not, 4 minutes later our dinners were delivered by some young kid. I said "I haven't received my salad and his soup just got delivered. We aren't ready for our dinners" He took them back. Our server appeared with my salad and apologized and said the salad was on them. Ok fine. I was enjoying my salad, he was half way through his soup and here comes our dinners again!!!!!!!! All this happened within 10-15 minutes of being seated. It was not busy at all and I felt so rushed. I'm a personal chef and I cook 5-6 days a week, so going out is a treat. The Shrimp Taco's I ordered were not fresh and the spice they used to cover it up was to spicy and missing the lettuce. I wanted a refund and they refused to at the Keystone Location. Never again will I order. I will be contacting the BOH to investigate them for selling old shrimp and trying to cover it up .They got paid and refused to refund. So so good! We came here to celebrate my sisters career and I'm glad we chose this place. They followed all safety measures and sat people every other table. All staff was wearing masks and hand sanitizer was available throughout the restaurant. Our waitress was fabulous and attentive. She let us know the specials and answered any questions we had. She also brought out bread to start while we looked over the menu. We started off with the imperial dip and it is a must get! So good and flavorful. For our entrees, we each got different meals. I took my mother for the first time she came into town. We usually save spots like this for special occasions. My hubby recently took me for my birthday. I was happy to see the amount of care taken to ensure social distancing as well as how the staff took care to wear masks, and many also wore gloves. The food and service was fantastic as usual. I got the Baja Shrimp and Scallop Scampi on their seasonal specials menu and it was phenomenal. The bay scallops were perfectly squishy and delicate. The shrimp were well cooked and not chewy like many restaurants around Indianapolis. I was very impressed. The Shrimp Rangoon dip was also amazing with soft baby shrimp amidst a Rangoon spread, could've used some more chips though. Our waiter seemed very rushed and didn't take our order for the longest time. Just for water we waited 10 minutes. We ordered a wide variety of seafood and different appetizers. Lets start here, if you like a good drink before (and after) you eat their bar is great. I am a dirty martini person myself and it was amazing! Now for the food: there are no words to describe how good it is. Cooked to perfection just as you like it and more than enough to get you full, for some you may even take the rest home if its too much to finish there. Desserts are great too. The wait without them was a hour and a half. Our waiter was very prompt and professional. He wasn't too overbearing.
