Bonefish Grill is a favorite seafood restaurant of mine and even though it is a "chain" it remains consistent throughout the years in terms of food quality and service. I have dined at Bonefish Grill in four different states and the common thread throughout this restaurant chain is their delivery of "passion for their guest's indulgence" and their commitment to menu offerings and higher quality food standards. The dining room at BG is large and spacious offering cozy booths as well as large tables. With low key nautical decor and "from the sea" artwork on the walls you will have the feeling of dining in more of an upscale restaurant environment. The servers are dressed in "Chef's Coats" and are ready and willing to take your order and are congenial and accommodating. Open for Lunch and Dinner as well as for Take Out, Happy Hour and Catering ~ Bonefish Grill is a reliable meal option. Seasonal specials ensure all of the freshest ingredients and locally sourced. On my last visit I ordered the Florida Cobb Salad, complete with a Grilled Salmon addition and it was done to perfection! Oven fresh crispy bread is served with a pesto olive oil dip which I love. my husband and I dined there last night sat at the bar. The bartenders friendly and attentive, but the food was lacking. We never received any bread in the beginning of our meal and the food took a very long time to come out. The dumplings that we ordered, we thought were going to be steamed, but they were like deep fried and they were in a very, very salty river of soy sauce. They were nothing like the dumplings we used to get there. The Parmesan crusted rainbow trout was not as good or as visually appealing as it usually is and for the first time ever at bonefish, I found several bones in my fish. We were at Bonefish Grill in Charleston SC around 5pm today 11/28/25. our waiter I think he said was Michael. He was attentive at first but hardly saw him after our food was served. When we finished , we sat there for 20-25 minutes waiting for our check. It was as if we were invisible. I had the fish and chips and the breading was not good. I ate the fish and left the breading. It and the fries were very greasy. Soaked in the paper. My daughter had the tacos which were not good. Overall, our bill was $87.00 and definitely not worth it. read more

I was staying in a hotel in North Charleston (Ruby Tuesday was at the edge of the parking lot) and had eaten at this BoneFish about 6 years earlier. I decided to pay the extra $$ and get a take-out from BF. I got the crab corn chowder, and ahi tuna on jasmine rice and shaved brussel sprouts. What a disappointment. in my hotel room, after I pulled all of the potatoes from the chowder, I ended up with about 1/4 of the container of chowder left. There were a few strands of crab, and 4 corn kernels. It should have been called potato chowder. The ahi was rubbery, and for some reason a sour, wasabi-like seasoning used on the brussel sprouts, making the veggies and rice largely inedible. I responded to their request for a review and was frank, leaving my email. The manager responded with a goofy "Gee sorry about the chowder and meal. We look forward to serving you again in the near future!" I responded with "Really? If I had that meal served in the restaurant, I would have sent it back and asked for a full refund, which I am now doing." I was, of course, ignored. Won't be going back. read more

Walked in on a Saturday night around 10:15-10:20 (closes at 11), to find the entire staff cleaning the restaurant as if it had already closed. Made eye contact with multiple employees to no avail. Waited around 5 minutes before giving up and realizing they had no interest in serving us. Could understand if we walked in 5 minutes before close, but it was almost 45 minutes til close. But it's okay, i can tell when my business is and isn't wanted, and I won't patronize them with my service again. Wish them the best read more

One thing I often yearn for is a thick flaky Northern cod grilled filet. Charleston has so much delicious fish to offer but grilled can be tough to find. Bonefish did not disappoint. Dining room was full at peak time on a Friday night but the staff was up for the challenge. We were seated quickly for our 8:15 reservation and our server showed up promptly to share the specials. Started with a generous portion of delicious bang bang shrimp and a cup lump crab corn chowder to share. Full of flavor and crab. Cocktails arrived half way through appetizers and were very yummy. Entrees were generous portions, piping hot and very tasty. We always try to support local and avoid the chains but Bonefish satisfied my yearning for North Atlantic cod. It was thick and flaky covered in lemon butter sauce and stuffed with shrimp and lump crab. Tasted just like back home in Boston. Sides were generous portions and quite delicious. The side of bread with herbs and oil was also a delicious compliment. Bonefish checked all the boxes and will remain on my short list of chains worthy of the local attention. read more

I think 3.5 would be my real rating so we'll round up instead of down. I had a work dinner here earlier this week and was excited because I really love the crab cakes here. The crab cakes were very good, as usual, as was the bread (so good!) but everything else was very sub par. I got the crispy potatoes with garlic aioli and the mac and cheese on the side. The actual potatoes were good and very crispy but the sauce was terrible. As for the mac and cheese, it was ice cold and had no flavor at all; no salt, no anything. Appetizers came out insanely fast but then there was quite the lull, almost 40 minutes, until our entrees came out which I thought was a bit long. Service was pretty good but not great. No complaints really just nothing to write home about. Overall, crab cakes and bread were amazing as always but everything else was really underwhelming. read more

This food was HORRIBLE!!! I ordered Tuna Tataki for an appetizer and it literally tasted like it came from the freezer. I ordered a Ceasar salad and it was wilted with NO taste and to top it off the Lily Chicken with mash potatoes and broccoli. The chicken was so dry along with the mash potatoes it literally tasted like powder-- the whole entree!! I did not complain because the waitress was so nice and clearly super busy but I would not feed this food to my dog and that's being nice. Save your money and DONT eat there! read more

I've been here to this particular location and every time it has been consistently great service and delicious food. I'm not one for corporated restaurants, but this one is fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Bonefish Grill. Our party had the salmon, BFG burger and fish & chips. It was all excellent. Our waitresses was Audrey. It was her second night. I have ordered the Chilean seabass here and it has always been very good. I buy this fish at seafood markets and prepare it myself. I know what seabass is, how to cook it, and how to present it. I've had the same excellent dish here at least 10 times at this and other bonefish grilles over the past few years. Tonight they bring me out what looks like a burned dried filet puck of god knows what and without the plate even being put before me, I send it back. The manager comes back and starts arguing with me saying it's Chilean sea bass, and I don't know what I'm talking about because he's worked here for "14 years" I doubt I'll ever eat here again. read more

Solid cuisine and great service. They really deserves a 3.8. They work hard to execute reliable dishes. Everyone LOVES their Bang Bang Shrimp and the Seafood dip is a good go-to, also. The Salads are power packed with lots of leafy goodness and your protein of choice. Very hearty and filling. The entree items with our group varied but all were good: Chilean Seabass is my staple with grilled lemon only. Had a side of garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed Spinach. The Spinach could've used salt but it was a hefty amount served. Others had the seafood Gnocchi in a tomato broth and loved it. We met friends at Bonefish on Mothers Day weekend so it was busy to say the least. We made a reservation so that helped but it was crowded. I had the Mahi with butter sauce with a salad and mashed potatoes. The mahi was very tasty and cooked just right. The sauce give it just enough flavor. The sides were equally good. I love Bonefish Grill. I have gone for lunch, happy hour and dinner. The staff is always very knowledgeable and polite. The restaurant is always clean. The bathrooms haven't ever been dirty. It's a bit cramped inside. The bang bang shrimp is one of their signature items and I highly recommend it. The fish tacos and Caeser salad is my go to meal for lunch, usually. The fish and chips aren't bad, either. The seafood dip is one of my favorite appetizers. The bar always has amazing drinks. My favorite is the lemon blueberry martini. I recommend this restaurant for sure. It's a great location to enjoy dinner before a show at the PAC. They take reservations which I suggest! read more

We stopped in here for a bite to eat the other night after watching the Stingrays play (they won). Dinner was simple and service was nice. I had the corn chowder with lump crab cake, as well as a serving of bang bang shrimp. You can't go to Bonefish without the bang bang. This was national lobster day. Got an email from bonefish for a one day special while supplies last . It was for a three course lobster meal for 19.99. Called up a friend and we were there. Had a 4:30 reservation. They start getting crowded about 6. The bread was hot and fresh. The happy hour drinks were nice. We had a salad of choice . Then came the lobster with two sides. I had broccoli and the potatoes. I forgot to mention the hot cream butter with its own heat. The lobster was perfect Thoroughly enjoyed it and dessert was a slice of blueberry cheesecake. There were highs and lows but overall the experience felt disappointing. I suggested this spot for my friend's birthday dinner and she'd been wanting to try Bonefish Grill so was excited. The Good: Our server was phenomenal. The bang bang shrimp appetizer was delicious. The asparagus was perfection. The Bad: we both ordered the red snapper special. My first bite tasted of burnt char and we both quickly realized our snapper was horribly overcooked. We both left more than 90% of the snapper because it really was inedible. Overall I was disappointed how the manager handled the news of our terrible snapper. He authorized the app being removed, which was equal in value to 1/4 of the 2 snapper entrees. IMO a more appropriate comp would have been one whole entree since we did eat at least half of the sides from each entree (my green beans were a bit undercooked & totally bland but I powered through), and I ate the spinach & bits of crab off my snapper. Only reason I am giving them 3 stars and not less is because the server really did a great job & made my bday-celebrating friend feel special. read more

Extremely disappointing My friend and I get together about every two or three months for dinner and chat fest at Bonefish NChs SC, the last several times it seemed to not be what we had always received. We always order the lobster pair (not cheap) this time both our lobster was tough as leather, appeared precooked the warmed in the microwave, it took us 20 minutes to find our waitress to send it back, then the manager comes out in a baseball hat saying he could only replace one each since we had eaten part of one! Well eventually he replaced both but we didnt get our sides back which we had Not eaten, so missing service twice, rude manager and awful food, wont ever be back. read more
