This place has been on my list for a long time but I've never quite made it and I was missing out! It's a take-out only place right now. Ordering was super easy - the options in each dish are laid out in 3 steps of choosing protein, sauce, and add-ons. Lots of chances to substitute and subtract for dietary needs. I ordered two mom's medleys - one with bulgogi ribeye and hot bop and one with ginger tahini. They cooked one egg all the way as I requested it and one was sunny side up - and perfect. Both dishes were DELICIOUS. First of all, they were beautiful - colorful and fresh. Secondly, the proteins were chopped up really fine so you could get tastes all throughout - but not so fine you didn't get the texture. And speaking of texture - wow - so many different moments of crisp and fermented and dense and light. Every bite was colorful and interesting and a little bit different. I ordered beef and got pork (I was too damned tired to make a fuss over it). The menu will nickel and dime you to death and their self-service ordering kiosk takes you to dead ends. Parking sucks, but that's true of all businesses in the area. The decor is more industrial than Korean (but this IS Georgetown). More like "Korean inspired." I'm not sure whether you can call this place authentic Korean cuisine or 'Korean-inspired'. Is it worth the visit? Read on... THE ROSES: The food itself is actually good; quite good, as a matter of fact. Ingredients are top-quality and the dishes are very tasty. Pretty much everything - including sauces - are made in-house (and I DO love their sauces - particularly the Hot Bop sauce, which is amazing !). Staff was very pleasant. THE THORNS: If you come by car, getting here can be a challenge. Street parking is very limited. There is a pay lot about a block away, but at $5 that may seem a bit steep if you're just wanting to pop in to grab some pickup (it appears most of their business is 'to-go'). Traffic on Airport Way, particularly during rush hour, can be really bad. Inside dining space is rather limited. There is no table service; you order either online on your own device or use a touchpad in the restaurant that isn't the quickest to navigate. This can be a challenge if you have people waiting to use it. This place also seems a bit expensive for what you're getting: a 'Mom's Medley bibimap bowl with an extra egg, extra meat, side pickle and sauce with a cup of tea set me back over $35. THE VERDICT: I'm honestly not sure the food and service (which are great!) completely offset the hassles of traffic and parking. With a total bill for the Mrs. and I being around $80 (and no booze!), we're starting to get into a Fine Dining price point. I guess if you can avoid going nuts on the extras, you can get this down more into the good Value for Money range. Recommend. read more

I had heard good things about Bopbox and had been wanting to check them out for quite awhile! However, I don't make it down to Georgetown very often so it took me awhile! I was able to visit on 7/29/20 and was happy to see that they are open during covid (at least, as of 7/29) -- I did takeout, but believe there were a few small tables you could sit at outside. I opted for the Mom's medley (bibimbap) and the chap chae w/ bulgogi, At first glance it seemed like the prices were a tad high (as compared to prices at other Korean/Korean-fusion places) BUT, once i opened the food at home and took a bite, I realized the prices are well justified. The food is gorgeous (lots of attention to detail) which also carries through in the flavors. For the Mom's Medley, you can choose protein, rice, and sauce. I opted for the tofu, which I was skeptical about because at some places, it's not the freshest/greatest texture. Here, the tofu was chewy (in a good way) and almost reminded me of chicken. I love veggies, so was so happy that there were TONS of veggies on here (mushrooms, zucchini, cabbage, corn, etc.) and the crispy kale was a unique addition for sure! We added on the cucumber kimchi as well ($1) and I recommend doing so. :) As far as ordering, etc. goes, the restaurant is laid out well so you're able to keep a distance from the staff (and do a contactless payment w/ your credit card). My only minor suggestions for improvement -- it would be awesome if there was brown rice as an option, and in the chap chae, the bulgogi was a tad sparse. BOPBOX is one of my favorite go to restaurants. They are quick, have lots of vegan options and the food is great. The place is really cute and can be fun to eat at, especially in the summer. It's pretty small, so we generally do take out. My personal favorite is the Yakisoba with spicy tofu. It's got so much flavor, and the portion is pretty large. It's one of those meals you know you should save some leftovers but then eat anyway and regret it. The best. Folks at the counter at super helpful and kind. Would recommend to anyone looking for a Korean style place to eat. read more

My group of friends was really craving some Korean food so we stopped by. Greatest choice of the weekend! It's a small spot, but with absolutely massive flavors and Bop Bowls...haha. I ordered the bulgogi jap chae bowl and put some sriracha on top - I couldn't stop eating it. Even after I was stuffed and uncomfortable, I had to eat the entire bowl because it was that good. I saw this place all over my Instagram and had to try it. Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon before taking it down to a park for a nice picnic. BopBox is located in Georgetown so parking was a little difficult to find but the place was just so cute and cannot miss. Amazing service and the person helping us was so sweet and helpful since it was our first time here. We ordered the Spicy Bulgogi Rice Bowl with an egg and the Bopbox'd Bento with Grilled Chicken Breast. For drinks we got some Made in House specials which were the Matcha Mint Brewed Tea and the Vanilla Bean Matcha Latte. Made in House is the sister of Bopbox and they also have some amazing options for Korean lunch plates as well. The Spicy Bulgogi Rice Bowl was tender and surprisingly not too spicy. The ratio of purple Korean rice to the meat was just perfect. However, my favorite was the Bopbox'd Bento with Grilled Chicken Breast. The Bento had so many different things to try that paired well with meat. I loved the Japchae with the salad along with the crispy kale tempura! Next time I go I think I am going to get the Bento again but with the spicy bulgogi meat, I think that would be the best combination! I usually don't love Korean (or Korean inspired) food nowadays bc it tends to lose the best authentic flavors by trying to be different or trendy or more American-friendly. Bopbox really made me happy. I like the flavors and the changes just made the food more colorful, more textures -- all things that work with traditional Korean flavor. I had the regular bibimbap but got two eggs bc I didn't understand the ordering method .. but if I go there again, I know how to do it. This is an absolutely fantastic restaurant in Georgetown. Delicious and creative Korean food. There's a lot of variety available including a number of delicious side dishes. They don't serve alcohol. So it's a great place to stop to eat a delicious dinner before you bar hop up and down Airport Way. The staff is very friendly and helpful and everything they serve is delicious in my experience. They do a brisk takeout business but they also have very cozy and comfortable seating inside so you can sit and eat. Try their bento with either the ribeye or the salmon. I couldn't recommend this restaurant more highly. read more

From past pictures, it looks like they had more seating, more menu selections, and food was plated in real bowls. Right now, they are using takeout boxes and only have two tables and a couple of bar seats. We got the bento's and were happy with our food. The kale tempura was especially good. We helped ourselves to the drinks in the fridge. While I don't mind the self-service nature of the place, I wish they were able to find enough staff to make it a full service restaurant with a better ambiance. The best Korean food I can find in my area! We thoroughly enjoyed the bibimbap - a dish that is truly hard to disappoint. We also ordered the yakisoba with pork belly which was pretty decent but the next time we're back I definitely want explore more of the other Korean options. I've only been here once, but I loved the Bulgogi Ribeye dish along with the spicy daikon kimchi. It's cool that you can purchase the various kimchi selections and bring it home with you to eat later! BOPBOX houses HAUS MYLK Plant-Based Beverages, which I'm curious to try as well. This place is super tiny inside and located in the Georgetown area where it's difficult to find parking. I'd recommend picking up your order rather than dining in because it does get busy! We had to run an errand in the Georgetown area, so we decided to try Bopbox for dinner. They are open during Covid-19, but it was takeout only. I ordered the Bulgogi Ribeye bowl, which is meat with a soy-garlic marinade, onions, scallions, topped with toasted sesame seeds and sliced cucumber, and served with your choice of rice (white, black, or cauliflower). I enjoyed my meal, but it seemed kind of plain. I know you can add a bunch of extra toppings, but they all cost extra money and I wasn't sure what would taste good together. If we go here again, I'd probably order Mom's Medley Bibimbop instead. I haven't tried it, but it sounds and looks really good. It comes with a bunch of interesting veggies and your choice of protein (tofu, chicken, beef, pork, or salmon). We decided to try this place after hearing a lot of compliments about their vegan options and it was the best decision. The restaurant is not big but very clean and organized. The food was amazing, so far this place has the best mushroom tempura, the mushrooms are really thick and juicy, we love the spicy sauce that goes with it, they match really well , the other dishes were delicious too. It's a pretty small place with a few seating options but we were easily able to grab a seat. It looks like it's mostly a pick-up/delivery place. You put your order in through the front kiosk and they'll have it ready within ten minutes. We ordered bulgogi ribeye bibimbop and spicy pork bibimbop. The bowls are pretty big filled with carrots, cabbage, crispy kale, broccoli, and rice. They're about $17 a bowl but if you're not too hungry, definitely can last for two meals. I would have liked the option to select two sauces because I couldn't decide between the hot/spicy sauce and ginger tahini. I ended up getting the hot/spicy sauce it was super good! If I had to describe the food, it would've along the lines of Korean inspired modern Asian cuisine. With that said, I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor and quality of the food offered at Bopbox! If you're looking for more traditional Korean food, I definitely wouldn't recommend this place BUT if you're willing to try new takes and spins on Korean food, then definitely would recommend giving BopBox a try! The components of the lunch bento were all flavorful and paired nicely with one another. Bulgogi was good and the purple rice was a nice surprise! Japchae was a bit too salty and heavy on the soy in comparison to a more traditional rendition of the dish but still paired well with the rest of the dish! The fried kale though was an unexpectedly amazing! Could definitely just eat a tub of that on the side with some rice. In summary, the dish was light, packed with flavor and variety, and was in my opinion a well done take on a Korean lunch box. I haven't finished my meal but I felt compelled to write a review mid-meal! Kimchi fried rice with chicken, all the way. Sure I have had Kimchi fried rice before but they don't compare to Bop Box version. The restaurant is off the beaten path (I've only been to Seattle 3 times). Not a huge place but with all the Door Dashers and Uber Eats drivers rolling through, this clearly is not a hidden gem but rather the brightest one around.
