This time they are willing to run your credit/debit card to pay for the meal, the cashier said I could come back after eating to leave a tip. Still a bad set up. The place was packed so we decided to order at the counter and sit on the patio. There was a nice breeze and things were cooling down nicely. Two of us had he snow crab clusters, my buddy had the fried shrimp, and I had the salad with grilled salmon. Service was good and the prices were mostly reasonable. We had to take some of the crab home for tomorrow. There is a good variety of side items. We watched all the other dishes coming out and everything looked good. More in line with 3.5 stars. I've been dining here for well over 15 yrs now and they are very consistent with the food. They certainly have their die hard fans so this place is always busy. I've never been when there hasn't been a wait. So get there early or be prepared to wait it out. I tend to always order the same item, broiled haddock with the cracker crumb topping with coleslaw and onion nuggets. Every now and then I switch up my side item and get the onion rings (I'm such a risk taker!). If you are a fan of fried then go with the seafood combo platter. Plenty to share! Can be a bit pricey depending on what you order. Service is fine. Just make note that broiled items add about 20 or so minutes to prepare. Overall a solid choice for seafood. read more

I'm originally from the Boston area and grew up spending my summers on Cape Cod. My favorite foods as a kid and still to this day are the steamers and fried whole belly clams. To put it simply, if you use the name "Boston" in your restaurant, you better live up to it. The minute you walk in, the smells and environment transport you back to New England. The only thing missing is the sound of the ocean and the heavy accents. You will wait in line to order and then be seated by their staff. I ordered the steamers appetizer and medium ala carte fried whole belly clams. The steamers arrived within 5 minutes of being seated. The steamer were fairly large in size and were served with hot water and drawn butter. They were perfectly cooked and juicy. I wanted to order more, but my fried clams were being walked out as I looked up to order more. New Englanders look for fresh large, briny clams. These were what I imagined they should be and what few other places outside New England could offer let alone miles south of Boston. These were perfectly breaded with a light coating of their batter and fried golden brown. Some places leave their clams soaking in oil and become soggy. Not Boston's Fish House. They were crispy even as I let them cool to start writing this review. TL:DR Best New England style food outside of New England. I will come again to satisfy my cravings. read more

Best seafood and freshest anywhere! Haven't had anything I didn't love. Years ago they had the plumper pieces of chicken that was best chicken I ever had but then they started pounding it before frying to cook faster I guess. Just not as juicy and wonderful as the unpounded pieces, but still good. Onion rings, fries plentiful and delish. We get those and coleslaw and broccoli salad as our sides most of the time. This place reminded me of a Morrison's cafe or Piccadilly cafeteria at first with the geriatric clientele, boring decor and order here- sit there service, but I'm glad that after passing by for so long I decided to see what it was all about. It was served on a lightly buttered nissin hot dog roll on top of the lettuce to keep the bread from getting soggy. The lobster salad was loaded with big sweet chunks of fresh claw and body meat and not over seasoned or over-mayoed so you could taste how fresh the meat was. No salty dead water leg meat here folks, this is the real deal. It came with a choice of two sides, I chose mac n cheese and fries, meh, as expected. My husband had a plate of fried Ipswich clams and onion nuggets. The clams were soft and livery/buttery with a big belly (like they should be, not those chewy little snot strands you find everywhere else) and were quite delicious. And I hate clams, so there's that. Overall you get your money's worth. You don't pay for atmosphere but you certainly pay for good quality food and you won't leave hungry. Who doesn't love clam chowder soup? My wife and I decided to try this place the other night. It's not a sit down then order and your server brings your food type of place. As unconventional as that sounds, it works very well, they turn tables over pretty quickly and get the line at the door moving very fast considering how busy it is there. You walk in and get in line. Make sure you look at the menu while you're in line because that's the order line. You are seated after your order. A server will bring your drinks to you. I say a server because they all work as a team, the tips are pooled. I made sure to ask when I wrote down the tip amount on the receipt. Great team concept, all the servers were friendly and responsive. They didn't have the "not my job" or "not my table" attitude. We forgot our leftovers on the table and had walked to our car and one of the servers tracked us down. We both had the clam chowder. My wife had the fish bites and I had the breaded and fried chicken. The clam chowder was good, nice bold flavor. We always get the cup when we try a new place in case we don't like it. We will order the bowl next time. The fish was light and tasted very fresh. The tartar sauce was amazing. I wonder if they would sell it separately, I believe it was homemade as I don't think anything commercially bottled could taste as good. The chicken was seasoned and fried to perfection. I asked for honey mustard and that sauce was very good. I suspect it was homemade. Sides we had were fettuccine, mac & cheese, green beans and broccoli salad. All sides were great but my wife especially like the broccoli salad. We are only down the street so we will definitely be back here. We were filled by the lunch portions. When I asked some friends were is the best place in orlando to get crab legs, everyone told me Boston's Fish House. This Small themed fish house style restaurant was packed. You order and pay before your seated, I didn't understand that, but when my food came to the table it was a mountain of overflowing crab legs that were so soft and cooked just right. Completely overrated. The clam chowder is the worst I've ever had. The presentation of the food makes you lose your apetite. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty the fried catfish was. I come from a southern, catfish-frying family so it's rare to find a restaurant that can even compare to my mama's, grandmama's and aunt's fried catfish. This place did pretty darn good! The catfish was crunchy, flavorful, white and flaky. I did sprinkle on quite a bit of extra salt but that was all it needed. Even reheated in the oven the next day, it was just as delicious. When I want some catfish and don't feel like cooking it, this will be my go-to spot! Don't expect a bunch of cajun seasoning or old bay. New owners have problems. Why is it that new owners always want to change a wonderful restaurant. The menu has changed and is more expensive. No more "baskets". All new staff including cooks. Shrimp was overcooked and smaller. Haddock was a small serving also over breaded and over cooked. Even my favorite onion nuggets were over cooked. No more apple sauce. It's now strawberry apple sauce. The Mac and cheese was made with velveta and was bland. The new owner was friendly but has no clue of how to run a seafood restaurant. What a disappointment. This is probably the best seafood place that I have been to in Orlando. It has a very laid back atmosphere, and offers lots of outdoor seating. They have lots of lunch specials, and the quantities are huge. I got the fish and chips and onion rings. Everything was fresh, and not at all greasy. First ordering at the front and paying before you are seated especially with kids is not very efficient and somewhat frustrating waiting on others to make up their mind. If you were from New England especially Northeast Maine where the best lobster and fish houses are you would not like this food. It resembles it but does not have the freshness or flavor you would expect. In Maine you get the would clam fried and anything less like the NY clam strips are not worth eating. The people working there are really friendly and accommodating which is probably why people come back and give it higher ratings than deserved. We placed this order through Post Mates and had it delivered. We ordered the Mahi Mahi sandwich and the Lobster Roll. Our expectations were high since we read great review after great review but the food did not meet the mark. My meal was honestly the worst meal I've had in a very long time. I took one bite of everything and threw the rest out. The Lobster Roll was still frozen in some spots, not one of the sides (Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, potato salad, zucchini) had even the slightest hint of flavor. My boyfriend enjoyed his Mahi Mahi sandwich but would have enjoyed it much more had it been made correctly (it was missing everything that typically comes on the sandwich). There was also a bug in our take out container. The price point is way to high for the quality. Would recommend literally anywhere else over this place. read more
