Not a good characteristic of an Italian restaurant to not get classic Italian cocktails right. Plus, always taste your cocktails before you send them out. When I asked her to correct it, she built it well, but dunked a whole orange wedge. I was already this far in and heaven forbid I crave an Italian cocktail at an Italian restaurant, so I asked for an orange peel and she huffed and took forever. The outside area is kinda tucked away and we had a hard time getting prompt service. Our server would come by once in a while but overall it was pretty slow. We were a party of 8 on a Friday night with a 6PM rez prior to a show at the Temecula Theatre. Our server, Bonnie, was really great, both professionally and personality-wise. The Short Rib Pasta special was a crowd fave as was the crab-stuffed ravioli, and if you like capers, get the tomato and Cucuncini caper salad. The pizzas were generous, but know this is a Sicilian style crust, so if you like it crispy, ask for some extra time in the oven. This is one of my girl friend's absolute favorite restaurants; she was very excited to share her enthusiasm with me and it did not disappoint. Aside from waking up super thirsty and the pizza not making good leftovers, the food was pretty good. I did find the pizza a bit lukewarm, as well as the noodles/sauce to the chicken parm, but the chicken itself was still hot and crunchy. The stars for me were the coffee and dessert- the latte was super hot, and mixed berry tart so light and beautiful, I ordered one to bring home to share my joy. Next time, I want to try their gelato. The vibe was a bit mixed- it was bright and nicely decorated, but the women's restroom can use a renovation. It was dim and missing hardware. Also, while water came in a carafe, we were given cheap plastic cups. The menus were plastic too and the lettering so scratched we couldn't read many of the descriptions. Our server had a cute Italian accent, even though the food we ordered was not very authentic (it was very Americanized Italian). Overall, it was a bit pricey but I would absolutely come back to eat with friends. The sauce tasted like a white sauce from a jar. One of the people in our group had the linguine with seafood. Half the mussels came empty. The calamari that came in was beyond rubbery, it was like bubblegum. The mussels were also rubbery. The shrimp was okay. Some people said the salad was good, and they enjoyed the drinks. But when you're paying $30+ for a plate of pasta and you get way overcooked food with questionable flavor profiles it is super disappointing. Pizza is their main food but it's also $25+ per pizza and the margherita pizza was basically a cheese pizza. The atmosphere was pretty nice and it looks good, but our table was also wobbly and just a bunch of smaller tables put together. Overall I would highly not recommend this place. Good Italian food in Old Town Temecula. First visit didn't disappoint at all. This restaurant is located on the main street of Old Town. It has spacious patio outside and good number of tables inside. The inside of the restaurant is classy and nicely decorated. They have pastry/ice cream section and bar section. Our server was super nice and friendly. She greeted us and offered us drinks right away. She was also the person who prepared our cocktails and she was very skilled at it. Both spritz, old fashioned and black Manhattan were super good. I would recommend black Manhattan. Food we ordered came in quickly and it was very good. Bruschetta was super tasty. Tangy cherry tomatoes accompanied grilled bread perfectly. Seafood pasta (spaghetti allá scoglio) was prepared al dente with generous amount of sea foods (muscles, clams, calamari, shrimp) and rich tomato sauce. Pizza for second entrée was also good. Wood oven fired pizza aficionado, this is the place for you :-) this is definitely my kind of pizza, following the more traditional Italian ways and "la pizza". Grazie mille The dough is great, light, chewy, with an amazing flavor from the blazing hot stone deck and the hard wood coals. The right yeast, flour, water... and the time it takes for it to rise and mature. My personal preference is to have a slighty more crunchy bottom, but I didn't ask our server so that is on me. While the food was definitely 5 stars, our service was sub par. We came in for our 28th anniversary and while the food was amazing our server not so much. She was not attentive in the least bit. It was not busy mind you and our drinks were empty for some time and she quickly dropped the check without asking if we would even like anything for dessert, which we did want. This was not our first visit luckily as I'm not sure we would return if it had been even though the food was fabulous. Service separates a good experience from a negative one! My son might be the only toddler who enjoys pizza by ripping the cheese off to eat a saucy slice of bread but he loved it. I thought it was similarly great. The fruit was very diverse with blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and pineapple. The place looks like a counter style restaurant but waitresses served you at your tables too and they had a full bar in there as well. We found this gem in Old Town Temecula. Not your regular Italian restaurant. We were promptly seated and greeted by our server Rochelle. As we were deciding what to order she suggested a Focaccia. What a delicious starter. Awesome bread and crust lightly drizzled with olive oil and herbs. After that we decided on two pizzas, La Romana which had roasted potatoes and sausage and the Tallegio which was prosciutto and basil. Both were SO good. We were very pleased with both.
