I was so happy to hear Bottlecraft opened a location in Long Beach. We've been going to the location in Little Italy down in SD for forever and my boyfriend used to get the monthly beer boxes (don't know if they still do them, but it was awesome to be try a variety of beers every month). The tap list here is always on point. I always manage to find something I haven't tried, which says a lot because I drink a lot of beer. They always have a good variety too. They're not too IPA heavy, which most places are. The service has always been pretty chill. They get busy at times so I'm wondering if that's why so many people have said the service isn't good. Love this place! Been coming here since they opened. They always have an amazing selection of rotating beers on tap, as well as cans for purchase. They have very good taste in the selection of beers they choose to sell and represent a lot of different breweries with their selections. Malcolm is awesome and the other guys who work there are all very friendly and helpful. Descent selection of beers. Sporadic though. Sometimes great stuff sometimes all mediocre. Their taster policy is ridiculous. Out of the hundreds of breweries I've been too this is the only one that does teaspoon size or all foam samples. 2 per customer is just a dumb policy. Pro: Their STS beer is not bad Cons: Poor service It has all the bad clichéd elements you'd expect from a "hip" brewery, especially a sassy hipster bar tender who thinks he's a beer expert because he grew an unkempt beard. I went there today, asked to get a sample of two beers to narrow down my options since they have an overwhelmingly large beer selection, around 30. Bearded hipster told me I could only get "one splash". I thought he was joking since a) that's literally never ever happened to me and b) I had just seen his unbearded coworker give out three samples to the woman who ordered right before me. I was in no mood for a confrontation and a bunch of his friends were hanging out by him so I just rolled with it. He gave me one splash and it was literally just that, just a bunch of foam. It's like, I'm already gonna pay you 8 dollars for an overrated beer, you really can't afford to give a sample of another beer? I don't do flights of beer because I just don't drink beer that I don't like and many of these breweries popping up everywhere are too experimental. I believe asking for two samples was reasonable. Three would definitely be pushing it. All said and done, I've seen so many breweries like this one close down for the same reasons, the main one being, sassy bartenders with zero costumer service experience trying too hard to be cool when everyone knows "craft beer" is never as good as regular beer. I do like the selection of beers. I have been going to breweries and tap houses for a number of years but I have never experienced the rudeness in the service ever as I have with Bottlecraft. The guy with the large mustache couldn't hear because of the loud music and brought me the wrong beer. He blamed me for not ordering the correct the beer. Although he went back to pour the correct beer he continued to charge me $2 more. When I brought it up he brought it up again that I ordered the wrong beer. Located in The Hanger in Long Beach, Bottlecraft is the perfect little spot to grab a drink while enjoying a meal from one of their food vendors inside. Due to COVID regulations, they require you to purchase a hot dog and chips ($2) when you open a tab. I recommend keeping your tab open so that you don't have to keep getting hot dogs every time you order a drink, especially, when there are better places to eat inside the Hanger. I kept ordering the #10 Party Cup.... It was light, but still had a hoppy taste that I enjoyed. They served different types of beer including IPAs, Nitro beer, Belgian style and even wine. You can grab a table, although it was really crowded the Sunday afternoon we were by, get your food from one of the many places in the hangar and go at it. It's like the Packing House in Anaheim but not as large. We rode our bikes up from the beach along the SGRT and there was a bike lane/sidewalk for much of the way along Carson, maybe even all the way but it took us a few dangerous blocks of riding in the road with no bike lane until we noticed it. I would have rather stayed at the beach but we were meeting a friend here so had to come and this beer tasted almost as good as the beer on the sand. read more

They almost always have personal favorites of mine Green Cheek out of Anaheim and The Other Half out of New York and Pure Project from San Diego These breweries you dont typically find cans or bottles in stores so for bottle craft to have these exclusives so conveniently located in the backyard is stupendous.
