We have always wanted to try this Restaurant and decided to dine here last night. I'm so glad we did! This is a small Bistro that looks like it used to be an old house. It is pleasantly decorated and so welcoming. I can't say enough about the service, it was Outstanding! They had a person who filled/refilled water, brought bread, and cleared the table as we were finishing our appetizers. She was so professional and nice. They also had a person who just brought out the food to the all the tables continuously. Our server was Aiden and he was Terrific! He explained the specials and even recommended some wine that we may enjoy. He also checked on us often and genuinely cared about our dining experience. The Food was amazing! We had the deviled eggs and Rillettes for an appetizer. It was very good and I would definitely order it again. For the Entree we both ordered the Braised Lamb Shank. The meat fell off the bone and was so tender and moist. It was topped with a red wine gravy that was to die for. Congratulations to the Owner/Manager and the Employees who work here. My girlfriend and I had a nice dinner date here as a surprise, and Boulevard Bistro did not disappoint. If you're from the Elk Grove area, more specifically the old Elk Grove area. Then you've probably passed by this small and humble looking spot, and may have never known it was a restaurant; that was the case for me for a while. What is "lacks" on the outside it makes up for in your dinning experience inside. We arrived to our reservation on a Saturday night at 7 and were promptly greeted. Once we checked in the hostess went to check on our table, which was ready about about 10 minutes after we arrived. And we were walked to our table, and while our waitress greeted us as well. The hostess hanged my jacket up for me in the jacket area. The small building provides two separate rooms for couples style dinning, or the ability to put table together for larger parties. We looked over the menu briefly, and another waiter brought us some complimentary bread while we decided on what to order. We'd see him several more times through out the night so I believe each table is tended to by multiple people, so ensure these isn't a long wait for ones waiter or waitress to arrive. To start off our dinner my girlfriend and I decided to go with a shareable plate of the grilled bone marrow which was absolutely AMAZING. We'd both had beef marrow once before at a wonderful place in Oakland, but our previous experience with this dish was nothing in comparison to this night. The marrow was paired with a parsley & caper salad, demi-glace, and grilled Focaccia. The grilling of the bone marrow provided a nice smokiness to the dish and it just melted in your mouth; it was absolutely delicious. We also shared the pear salad which was nice and refreshing and was paired with Gorgonzola cheese, candied walnuts, port soaked Cranberries and a Honey Vinaigrette. Following our salad my girlfriend had the pan seared Catfish and I had the Atlantic Salmon; both delicious in their own rights as well. And both were beautifully plated and presented. And to top the night off we decided to share Pot de Cafe, which was a Chocolate custard dessert served with espresso sprinkled whipped cream and fresh black berries. Happy Valentines!!' Yes thanks to my wife on reserving our night out to spend valentines dinner here. Boulevard Bistro is a unique elegant dining place located in Elk Grove, I believe some of the history I heard was that this place was a house converted into a restaurant at Elk Grove blvd. The parking was kind of confusing at first since it was night time , I did t see the parking spaces at the back of the restaurant. Anyway, we got here a little earlier. Our reservation was at 7:30. The ambiance was candlelight / romantic setting. Our server I believe was Kelsey (I may be wrong) and she provide us some information on their specials. One of the specials for this evening was their crab soup. Man that was very tasty. But it's no comparison to what I had next which is the bone in pork chop. I was ask by our server If it's okay that the chops were cool medium. I know this from experience that you cook white meat till their white (no pink or red) . This is different. The bone in chops I had was thick and juicy, they came with their sauce , broccolini and flattened small potatoes. I finished every bit of it. Simply lovely ambience. We found the home setting to be extremely unique and one of a kind. Service was absolutely incredible. We had ordered the half dozen oysters with mignonette as our appetizer. The taste was so clean and you could immediately tell it was high quality. We had also ordered the shrimp polenta which had very deep, roasted flavors, yet very balanced and delicious. The food was good, but ala carte at those prices is gouging. Our service was mixed, the waiter could of been a little more attentive, but the support staff was spot on. Had the pork shank it was good but something was missing for me. V tried the deviled eggs - 2 eggs cut in half and topped with artfully decorated filling with a small dropping of salmon eggs for twelve bucks was stretching things a bit. All the workers were very attentive and helpful! Food wise - I just love the appetizers! My all time fave and also a must have is the bone marrow. The dish is simple yet very delicious! Oysters and shishito peppers are also good. Don't forget the foie gras. They do get fancy with simple devil eggs topped with Xavier (we had ours in the side). The entrees are delicious and filling. I have read so many good reviews so We decided to celebrate here our 12 year wedding anniversary. It's probably the heat? Outside temperature was 99F. Looks like the ac in that building didn't hold up. While in the building it feels like around 85-95F inside. In short we are not comfortable at all. The service was NOT GREAT AT ALL. The food is okay not really worth $30 or $40 per plate on my opinion. I was expecting atleast a decent service and a decent food. No wow factor. We went for our anniversary yesterday, and this place didn't disappoint! We started with oysters, and carrot soup; both were very good! For our main courses we have the duck confit, and the halibut. The duck is on the rich side, and was amazing! The halibut was also very good. We were too full for dessert, but ordered the chocolate tarte ( I think that was what it was called), and the croissant bread pudding. OMG, those were both delicious too! It's located in one of the most unsuspecting spots in Elk Grove, and if you aren't familiar with the area you would never think that it's a restaurant! On the outside it looks like a house and as you walk inside you enter the dining area with a small number of tables, which is intimate and quiet (I actually really appreciate that). For the first time since the pandemic hit roughly 14 months ago, I finally have been able to travel for an in-person training in Sacramento. It feels great to travel,... anywhere! Oh my downtime from training, I was fortunate to meet up with some long time friends and former colleagues. We wanted to go someplace special to celebrate all things good. This was my first time dining at the Boulevard Bistro. My friend found the reviews to be very positive so we took a chance. What appeared to be a quaint converted home provided for a very warm & cozy atmosphere, especially in front of the fireplace. The food was of high-quality and the customer service exceeded our expectations! Kudos for the complimentary bread w/whipped butter. We opened with drinks and the crab & artichoke dip. So good! The creamy dip had a lingering hint of buttery lemon and was paired with grilled focaccia. The consensus was unanimous: it was a scrumptious starter! Next, our party shared the peach salad. Grilled peach, blueberries, pecan pieces, and a balsamic dressing over a bed of lettuce,... You can't go wrong. No complaints! Time for the entree: I splurged and got the filet mignon (medium rare) as did 2 others in our group. One person opted for the pan-seared salmon with the Lemon Beurre Monte Sauce. (The appetizer convinced her that she needed more of that delicious sauce.) The friend who chose the salmon was not disappointed! As for the filet mignon, it was so incredibly tender! Garnished with a few micro-greens and tender enough to cut with a butter knife, this was a decadent choice. The temperature & seasoning were to perfection. I really enjoyed the asparagus but the mashed Yukon potatoes made my mouth sing! Dessert: There's no harm in just hearing about the dessert menu, right? We had no intention of ordering desserts but 3 out of 4 of us gave in and ordered a lemon mousse type of sweet indiscretion. Topped with edible petals, berries, and a graham cracker base,.. Oh yeah! The restaurant refused to charge for the Bday girl's dessert & they presented it w/a lit Bday candle. That's classy! This place is pricey. I won't deny that. Chef Brett Bohlmann and General Manager DuRon Crayton do an excellent job in leading the Boulevard Bistro restaurant team. Years ago, my friend Ray and I had the priviledge of spending a quiet Labor Day evening at Sage (another culinary business of Chef's) with Chef Brett. Unusual, we ended up being the one of the only customers that Labor Day evening. Chef's school teacher friend joined us later. To say the least, it was great evening of fun watching Chef prepare dishes "off-the-cuff". He basically looked at what he had in the refrigerator and did his culinary magic. The food wss also delicious and well priced for an intimate date night or celebration without breaking the bank. For starters, the bread and homemade butter is so good! My sister took me and my mom to this place last night for a mother and daughters night and the food is amazingly good. For appetizers we had deviled eggs, pork belly was really good and bone marrow was good and I don't really like bone marrow but this was good and buttery. We just moved to Elk Grove and we were recommended this was a must eat....they were 100% correct. First, didn't expect the location but it's actually a house! So cute! Makes it feel way more intimate! It's only beer and wine but they have ample of options to select from. They give you a complimentary house bread that you kept wanting more! Be careful...don't eat too much so you're too full for the main course because it's that good. For app there was so many we wanted to try but we ultimately decided on the steak tartar. It was served with 3 or 4 side breads and the steak was perfect temp and amount of meat. It included tapers and pickled onions which added to the meat. It also had a mustard taste that enhanced the flavors. For the entree's... we both first ordered beef bourguignon. The table next to us ordered the filet mignon so my fiancé quickly reordered to get that because it looked amazing! Luckily, we were able to make the change in time and my goodness....so glad we did. We first tried my dish of the beef bourguignon. It was perfectly cooked, easily fell apart and juicy. The sauce was almost like a gravy with lots of flavors and veggies were soft and yummy. I'm glad we tried mine first because yes, it was delicious but compared to the filet mignon.....holy sh*t! The filet mignon was just outstanding! We did medium rare and they NAILED the cook. The sear and the reduction just truly was mouth watering. If you like red meat, the filet mignon is truly a MUST! We ended our meal with the crème Brûlée. Also very yummy! It was actually cold which I'm used to it being warm. It weirdly worked! Our server was so friendly and the staff was very attentive! Water was never empty, empty dishes quickly picked up and very responsive. If you're going to have a nicer meal, it's nice to have top service. Boulevard Bistro had very good food for an unassuming-looking restaurant in Old Town Elk Grove. Our waiter had good attention to detail which we appreciated since my wife has severe food allergies. He and the kitchen took care of us and we didn't have any problems. They recently changed the menu compared to the older photos on Yelp but the website had a current menu. I started off with some shishito peppers as an appetizer. They were nicely charred, seasoned with salt and chill powder, and came with a good dipping sauce. I'd recommend them as an appetizer if you want to try something different without ruining your appetite. I got a ribeye steak for dinner which was a special not on the menu. It was fantastic. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned and came with an amazing blue cheese sauce on top (I don't really live blue cheese but it was really good). My only caution would be the price. Since it wasn't on the menu I didn't know the price when I ordered it and it wound up coming to $50. The flavors were on point and the portions weren't small but for $50 I would have expected something a little bit bigger. I got the chocolate torte as a dessert because why not. The flavors and textures were good and it came with vanilla ice cream and a berry sauce. It was nicely plated like everything else as well. My wife ordered salmon and was happy with it. It normally comes with a sauce but she got hers plain due to allergies. The building is an old house and you'll miss it if you blink while driving by. The layout of an old house didn't really lead to ambiance but it was nice in a quirky way. Reservations are recommended and you might need to book a week or two out because they were busy when we tried to book. We dressed up a little since it seemed like a fancier restaurant but people were wearing jeans and shorts so there's no dress code. They don't do cocktails but have good options for beer and wine. Overall, Boulevard Bistro is a nice upgrade from Elk Grove's chain restaurants. It's not the cheapest but the prices aren't obnoxious and I thought the quality of the food justified them. read more

This up scale restaurant in Elk Grove is such a vibe! It's located inside a house so it's not your typical restaurant building which makes it cool and unique. I ordered the duck confit which was omg amazing! The boyfriend ordered the pork chops and it tasted delicious! We also shared the bone marrow appetizer but I will honestly say that I'm not a huge fan of it but wanted to try it because of the many reviews it had. The complimentary bread was soft and great to eat as well. Overall, The boyfriend and I had a great experience.
