The burgers here are SO good. They're basic and yet so delicious, I definitely recommend ordering one. The Cobb Salad is pretty good too, and the portions are enough to fill you up at a reasonable price. The service is alright and the atmosphere is really chill. Oh, and the Calamari, amazing. The food is fresh and in addition to diner staples there are international options as well (such as Greek soup and Swedish pancakes). I've always come here with a group of people...for breakfast/brunch. The breakfasts are good-sized and reasonably priced. The hash browns are wonderful. Pat likes them so much, he ordered a side of them to go with his breakfast that already included them! The omelets are all good - I especially like the healthy one with egg whites, chicken, spinach and mushrooms. This last time Nick ordered the "Moose" - biscuits, gravy, eggs, bacon, hash browns, and more... I wanted a change of pace this last visit and since it was almost lunchtime, I opted for a lunch dish - I was the only one out of our party of 11 who did NOT order breakfast...but I'm SO glad I did. I found their selections of mac 'n' cheeses and couldn't decide between the Italian (asiago, mozzarella, Italian sausage, sun-dried tomato, basil & red chile flakes) and the California (grilled chicken, mushrooms & spinach). Menu is almost identical to Jack's in San Bruno, which IMO is a better choice. So if you're craving this food, go to Jack's. Free valet parking on Fri and Sat night...good. No wait to be seated at 7 pm on a Sat night...good but a little suspicious to me (why no wait on a Sat night???) Service...uneven. Good at the beginning but tapered off toward the end of our meal. Food...well, overfilled in a word. My medium rare steak was medium and pretty dry. Husband's medium prime rib was medium well and he had to saw through it. My New York steak was so-so, definitely not prime although the price was up there. My veggies were overcooked and sadly, my husband and I both agreed that his baked potato was boiled instead of baked, and was undercooked...another few minutes would have finished it. I returned my steak (nicely, no snotty behavior from me about it) and my entire plate was removed...so I sat for 10 minutes with nothing to eat while my husband picked at his dish. Would have been nice to hVe been asked if I wanted to continue eating my veggies while I waited for the new steak. I observed to husband that replacement steak would probably be rare instead of medium rare...and I was right!! :) The positive is that it reheats well in the microwave if it's undercooked...that's a free tip from me to you. ;) More regarding service...husband ordered coffee to go with dessert, at which point you'd think our server would ask if I also wanted a cup...but she did not...a little surprising. She also came by literally 5 or 6 seconds after our entrees were served to ask how our food was...if she'd waited a decent amount of time, things just would have been easier, and I could have told her about the offending steak sooner. This is one of my favorite breakfast places. "The Moose" is amazing if you are starving and in need of some comfort food. They have such a large variety of things to eat that I don't think you could get tired of the food. Sometimes it gets ridiculously crowded here, which I guess is typical for a diner style restaurant-- in this area especially. I don't think I've ever waited more than 30 minutes though. I've been to Boulevard Cafe in the past and I've been happy with the food and service. My friend and I arrived early and looked at the menu prior to our large group of 15 being seated. I settled on having their Hangover and I was not disappointed; it had chili, salsa, chopped jalapeños, and green onions on top of their hash browns. The jalapeños and a splash of Tabasco gave it the extra kick I wanted for breakfast. It was so good and was money well spent. I'd go again and again. read more

First time here and love the atmosphere. We got a root beer float and vanilla milkshake that were delicious! Only thing I really didn't like about this place was that our waiter had to make the drinks as well. So our drinks took about 30 minutes until it showed up to our table. I ordered chicken and waffle which I wasn't impressed about. The chicken was very battered and maybe was deep fried a little too long. On the other hand, the waffle was delicious! My bf wanted to order a side of corn beef hash brown but the waiter made a (good) mistake and got us the meal instead. That was my first time liking corn beef hash brown from the many places I've tried. Oh, sweet potato fries were on point. love it! Overall, food was pretty good. My visit to Boulevard Cafe was weird, so let's get into it... First, let me just say the food was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised, and enjoyed all of it. Second, our server, Marcos, was an absolute delight. He made some great recommendations, and was completely charming and lovely. Totally made the experience dining here. Now for the problem: There was some issue with the restaurant's fire alarm, and it kept going off. High-pitched, headache-inducing, screeching alarm. I understand that wasn't just problematic for the diners, but for the employees as well. But my problem was the management, or lack thereof. No one seemed in charge, and no one came out to deal with the fact that AN EMERGENCY ALARM WAS GOING OFF. After at least ten minutes, a manager came out to inform us that there was a problem with the alarm (which was, y'know, clear), and that we were not in any danger. TEN MINUTES. That's not helpful. We stuck around for ten minutes, you can bet we didn't think we were in danger. She also didn't offer her apologies for the situation, or offer any sort of discount. Here's the thing, though, at the end of the meal, there was quite a hefty discount. Please communicate these things in the future, because not doing so completely ruined our experience. I've managed busy restaurants, I get that sometimes it's difficult. But please keep us informed on what you're doing because otherwise we're just sitting there upset with the terrible management. Also, when I went to thank the manager for the discount, she brushed me off (she wasn't busy, she was just standing on the floor, eating), and was quite rude. This is a burger and breakfast type of place, and they do it well. Great burgers, really good egg dishes and a sort of retro vibe from the days when this was a Lyon's. My wife had the Huevos today and loved them (she's a picky eater, so if she likes something, it's really good). The fish and chips were actually pretty good (I was expecting frozen, but they seemed to be honest to goodness fried fish fillets with really good fries). What really caught our eyes, though, was the plate of fried chicken and waffles at the table next to ours. It looked delicious and the people who ordered it wolfed it down, so I bet it is a gem on the menu here. read more

So today my friends and I went to have brunch at this place. The wait was about 15-20 minutes to be seated. Once we were shown to our table, our waiter took about 10 minutes to take our order and ask if we wanted anything to drink. After we finally got our orders in, the food took about 30 minutes. We waited longer for our food than we did to get seated. Our waiter was kind of socially awkward, they overcharged us on our bill, the host was rude, super slow service....we told them they charged us the wrong amount and the host quickly got an attitude and told us she "did us a favor"...umm ok. So we only got back like $5 when they charged us an extra $15. I give it 2 stars because the food was okay but the overall experience here sucked. I probably won't be going back. read more

Great place to eat late at night, my girlfriend loves the fish and chips here. I really like the seafood spaghetti with white sauce in it, I never have complaints. They also have alcoholic beverages here if you're interested as well. I think on weekends they have free valet because in this neighborhood they have people that taking up all the spots for the parking all around. read more

Have been coming here for years with my family and I have never had a bad meal. I usually only come for breakfast and it has always been great. The eggs benedict is cooked perfect, they give you a big portion of potatoes and toast, you will not leave full. The chicken and waffles, hamburger and eggs, and just about everything is cooked great with lots of flavor. I recommend sitting in the bar if you are not with children. Much faster service, more dim atmosphere and there are TV's and music. read more
