Closed for two weeks just because of fall break? You're only open three hours a day anyway.

The playlist was great and made the whole experience even better. The service was top-notch. Every staff member was so friendly, and several of them came by to check that everything tasted good and that we had everything we needed. That level of hospitality really stood out. And the food... wow! The sandwiches were absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The restaurant was also spotless, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, this place is an easy 10/10. Great atmosphere, amazing service, delicious food, and a very clean restaurant. We'll definitely be back!

I really appreciated how they brought an old-school music theme into the interior design. The sandwiches were just as impressive as the ambiance. One thing that stood out was the bread--soft, fresh, and easy to digest, which made the sandwiches even more enjoyable. I ordered the Californication Jam Sandwich, which comes with pulled chicken, pepper jack cheese, jalapeño slaw, Doritos, and red hot chili pepper jam. It was absolutely delicious. The jam added the perfect amount of spice and tied all the flavors together beautifully. I also tried the Classic Hero Sandwich, which was equally satisfying and packed with flavor. Overall, this is a unique sandwich spot with great food, creative menu items, and a memorable atmosphere. Definitely a place I'll be returning to!

When I scanned the reviews of potential local restaurants I wanted to visit for breakfast, I was…read moresurprised to find my name already on the Half Way listing. Then....I saw that my review was a decade ago! (That was back when it was a little farther out of town and in a smaller place. So, I came back, anew, to enjoy again. Hands down, this is a friendly establishment with a staff that is welcoming, polite, helpful...and ready to serve you. The interior is open and sports a nostalgic look with large tables accompanied by old (but sturdy) mismatched, carved-high back chairs. Yes, you can sit by yourself, but if it's busy....scoot over and invite a new friend to join you. Most tables seat 6 or 8 -- more "communal" style in a sense. Step up to the counter and order from the solid, albeit mundane, menu: eggs to order, meat side, potatoes, biscuit & toast...gravy if you like. They'll bring it to your table. Nothing fancy. My wife's eggs were scrambled, but not fluffy....rather flat like an unfilled omelet. My over easy eggs were close to perfection and oozed a rich yolk sauce on my deep fried potato cake. Yes, I would have preferred authentic hash browns or "home fries". But this worked for the occasion. Biscuits were buttery and tender. Coffee - average. Sausage patty appeared to be cut from a commercial roll - fried well and tasty. My wife's bacon was absolutely to her liking (hard to get right sometimes). But her's was spot on: very crisp, not burned. Lots of grab and go sandwiches for sale....check out other reviews and photos. Before you leave, pick up a couple of fried pies. (Ten yeara ago I had the peach - yummy. This timr we took home both apple and cherry. Slightly - not overly sweet fillings and a great afternoon treat. Dough was slightly different this visit. (You can see that in my pics...if Yelp still has them available.) As for the "Market" aspect of the name....that is a bit of a mystery - not a lot of market goods were readily visible. Oh!...be careful parking. The unmarked "street side" parking is tight and cars can come barreling down Hill Street. There is apparently more parking on the back side (towards downtown area). All-in-all the vibe was a bit like my Grandma's Country Store (1940-50s) a place where I was born and raised...friendly, comforting, congenial. And, a return for lunch is in order - the menu sounds inviting ... I hope another 10 years doesn't pass before I make it back for that. PS: very clean restrooms available too.

The wings were juicy and perfectly seasoned. The second accommodation was the baked potato. They were able to provide a side of shredded cheese accompaniment upon request. Third accommodation was the virgin pina colada. I thoroughly enjoyed my half salad, which was plenty especially when paired with the wings app. The best part of salad were the freshness and quality of all the ingredients. Even with the way it was dressed and presented, the care and attention to detail was obvious. There's also the lobster bisque and Pavlova dessert. Loved it and it was picky-kiddo approved, especially that Pavlova which was just divine! We were very lucky to have dined with a performer player her guitar. She had a beautiful voice. We were also very lucky with our waitress. She boxes all our leftovers for us. We certainly recommend dining here. Everyone was warm and welcoming, including other guests.
