    Pit Mac & Cheese

We stopped by on a Thursday night and it was pretty empty. Maybe 2-3 other groups were there. The set up of the restaurant was a little confusing to navigate but I'm sure on the weekends they get packed and all the spaces get filled up pretty quickly. We ordered a Backyard Platter to share as well as an order of the Pit Mac And Cheese. The Backyard Platter was insane. $67.50. 1/2 lb smoked brisket. 3/4 lb smoked pork. 1 lb hot honey chicken. 4 smoked chourico. 4 pieces of cornbread. and pickles, slaw, and bbq sauces. The meats were delicious. and those bbq sauces! So good! I definitely wish they gave more cornbread, cause you would think with all the food in this order, they would be full pieces of cornbread, but in actuality they were like half pieces of cornbread. so we felt a little shorted there unfortunately considering the cornbread was really delicious. i just wish there was more. Definitely a shared meal, and definitely on the pricier side. The pit mac and cheese was a miss for us. $16.50. we didn't add any toppings to it since the backyard platter was more than enough and sadly, for the price, we were let down. It felt overpriced for what was presented considering the dish itself was shallow and there wasn't anything that stood out. I would've easily paid maybe $9 for that but not $16.50. it felt more like what their $6 side dish would be in truth. Overall, i'm glad we finally stopped by as it's around the corner for us and we had been meaning to try their food. I would definitely come back and try something else next time!

Great BBQ dinner! The BBQ platter was perfect. Brisket was super tender, sausage was great, the pulled pork was the best part, and the crispy chicken was outstanding. The Carolina BBQ sauce was delicious pairing it with the chicken and pulled pork. The Mac and cheese was delicious. I think it's a must order next time too. Service was great and friendly. They have a separate room which has corn-hole boards. Looks like they have leagues and tournaments. Looking forward to coming back.

Boundary Kitchen sits at 67 Garrity Street in Pawtucket, a low black building with a stark red stripe running across its facade. It's a pub and smokehouse that specializes in barbecue and comfort food. Two parking lots in front, and another on the side tell me that they expect to be a popular destination. The interior opens into something unexpected. A waiting area near the entrance showcases antique tables and vintage lamps, mismatched chairs that look salvaged from estate sales. The dining room stretches beyond that with shipping pallets stacked as room dividers reaching toward an exposed ceiling. Wire mesh panels glow blue above certain sections while pendant lights made from old barrels hang at different heights. Red vinyl booths line the walls. This place is built for crowds that weren't showing up yet at prime dinner time. We came here for the Detroit pizza. What arrived was something else entirely. The menu calls it a Steel Pan Pie. It was a rectangle, but it didn't have the signature burnt cheese edges. The sauce was ladled out in stripes rather than spooned on top after baking. The cheese bubbled, but it never caramelized into those dark, crispy edges that define Detroit style. The taste was fine. The sauce had good acidity, and the cheese stretched when it was hot. But the crust was the problem. It was soft and doughy in the middle, and it just didn't have the lightness, the crunch and the chew that you expect. It wasn't a Detroit pie, it was more like a mini Sicilian. The decor kept my attention longer than the food. Between those hypnotic blue lights and the general vibe, this place has a real atmosphere. The pizza might have been a miss, but the rest of the menu looked solid. The burger at the next table, for one, looked worth the drive back on its own. Boundary Kitchen missed the mark on Motor City style, but the pizza was still decent. The place itself works, and that counts for something. It's enough to make me think about going back for a burger, because I think that room is eventually going to fill up. I think I'll probably be back.

We went in For brunch they offer their entire menu. everything was delicious. the bf had the Beni and liked it so much he didnt even leave a bite for me to try. i had the breakfast burrito it was a great size, I had left over and the flavors were delicious. After seeing the photos I also had to try the pizza...best pizza ive ever had lemon ricotta interesting flavor combo that totally works. The vibe was really different but made us want to come back. And the service was great the way the staff worked together on a slow day was great.

We decided to give this restaurant takeout a try after a few attempts of in restaurant dinning. We live close to the restaurant and my husband arrived to pick up the food before it was ready, he waited a few minutes and then left. When we opened the containers it was apparent the food was not hot and may have been sitting for some time. The amount of food for the price (we paid about $65 for the food in the picture) is not worth it. Unfortunately we will not be back here again, very disappointed.

Joe was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered fried pickles, double fried wings and the lemon honey ricotta pizza. Everything was very tasty and the sauces were definitely house made. Make sure to get the buffalo sauce. Joe recommended and he did not disappoint. The drinks were also very good. If you like lavender you would like the French 67 and the Flower Power both 10/10. Tasteful Soft rock/emo playlist in the background was played at a reasonable level. The bathroom was nice and clean and had beautiful mirrors

The bartender barely made eye contact, and when I ordered a spicy tequila soda, I was served with Tajín sprinkled on top--not exactly what I'd expect for a spicy drink. The food was equally underwhelming. The pepperoni pizza came out with the pepperoni completely burnt. When we mentioned it, we were told that's simply how they prepare it, so keep that in mind if you order pizza here. The wings were decent and had a good amount of meat on them, but that was about the only highlight. The nachos arrived swimming in grease, making them difficult to enjoy, and the toppings were just average. The French fries were another issue--they appeared to have been cooked in the same fryer as seafood. This wasn't disclosed, and the fries came out tasting noticeably fishy. Thankfully, I don't have a seafood allergy, but that could be a serious concern for someone who does. The ambiance was fine, but overall the food and service left a lot to be desired, and I wouldn't go out of my way to return.

Currently I think of Pawtucket as "the place where Slater Mill and the DMV and Kafe Lila and Machines With Magnets are," but if I spend enough time at KL and MWM, my view will undoubtedly become more nuanced. Machines With Magnets is a recording studio, art gallery, and performance space that has fast become my favorite music venue and possibly one of my favorite places in Rhode Island. The inside is beautiful, with two large rooms decked out in cool white paint and beautiful hardwood flooring (one floor is stenciled with an absolutely stunning pattern). Art of varied quality adorns the walls. I have now had the pleasure of attending two shows here--an electronic music performance and Quintron + Miss Pussycat--and I enjoyed them both. Watching bands perform with art as a backdrop is a pleasure. The sound is good and the venue is run fairly efficiently. At the latter show, they quickly cycled through four bands by alternating the rooms in which each band performed. Very smart. The crowds are fun and interesting. Drinks, Dunkin' Donuts coffee, and even pizza are sold for reasonable prices. During my first visit, a friend turned to me and said, "I wish I lived here." "I wish I could DJ here," I replied. Until either of these things happens, I'll be stopping in periodically for more music and art. You should, too.

Deep red walls, wide-plank floors, framed portraits of people long gone, a fireplace; this place has the kind of character you simply can't manufacture. Add a live jazz duo playing piano and upright bass in the corner and the atmosphere is close to perfect. We settled in at the bar, which has a decent whiskey selection, and started with cocktails. We also shared the kale and butternut squash salad; we asked them to add a goat cheese medallion from their spinach salad, and honestly it was the right call. That bright, creamy note was exactly what the salad needed...or maybe what I needed. I do love fried goat cheese on a salad. Either way, it was perfect. Then came the cranberry rolls, which were the quiet star of the afternoon; crunchy on the outside, soft and flavorful inside. Don't skip these. For mains, I had the breakfast skillet, which is essentially everything but the kitchen sink loaded into a cast iron pan. Heavily loaded with meat (Arby's would be jealous), homefried potatoes with satisfying crusty bits, a couple over medium eggs, and served sizzling hot. The cheese sauce draped over the top was lighter than you'd expect, landing somewhere between a béarnaise and a classic cheese sauce; it kept the whole thing from getting too heavy. It took a while to work through, and that's not a complaint. My partner had the butternut squash and brown butter sage ravioli. It was well-cooked, flavorful, not too rich, though a little more sage would have put it over the top. The bartender had a good sense of humor and clearly knew his way around the bar. The problem was that he was doing too much; he appeared to be his own bar back, serving the six people at the bar, waiting on the tables within the lounge area, and it appeared he was covering other tables outside of the lounge area as well. He was often away, and with salad plates, appetizer plates, and menus sitting in front of us long after they were needed, the clutter added up. Pre-bussing costs nothing and makes a real difference. Tighten up the staffing model and this place is a very easy five. If you're in the area, you should stop in and check it out for yourself. I'm not sure if the jazz duo on Sunday brunch is a regular occurrence, but if it is, you should definitely make a point of it. They were wrapping up around 2:30-3:00 and it made the whole afternoon feel like something a little more special than just brunch.

The parking is as difficult as all the reviews state - so as my fellow yelpers recommended, if the lot looks full, it's full - just park at the CVS and walk over. It's way too tight to wait around and maneuver for a spot. Walking into the place reminds you of being welcomed into a friend's comfy home. We were seated in a back room that felt cozy. Bernie was our server and he was a delight, super personable and attentive. For apps, we had the 1/2 size eggplant rollatini and 1/2 size spinach and goat cheese salad. Rollatini was good, salad was umm interesting - had a ton of fruit on it with a dressing I didn't love but it wasn't bad, just not sure I'd get it again. Onto the entrees - everyone really enjoyed their meals (short ribs and seafood cardinale) except me lol. My side pasta with pink vodka was good but my Chicken Rossini (labeled as a staff favorite) wasn't bad, it just had a flavor I didn't care for, a little bit of salt did help it but I wouldn't get it again. We enjoyed our visit very much and I would def come back to try other options. All of the staff were wonderful. Bernie mentioned to come back during the summer months as they have the patio open. Perhaps we shall when the weather is nicer and we might even luck out with a parking spot.....
