On a day off I joined some coworkers for lunch at BowTie. We all thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and everyone cleaned their plates! We ordered their BBQ Poutine to share. Delicious! The plate was generously full with hand cut fries, blue cheese, smoked BBQ pork, and with their BBQ sauce drizzle. Typically poutine has gravy, but thankfully there was none on theirs. I loved seeing the 1924 Salad on their menu as it was a favorite of mine at, and no longer standing, Johnny Harris Restaurant on Victory Drive. The owners at BowTie are relatives of the former owners of Johnny Harris. I was thrilled they incorporated this salad on their menu. It had fire roasted peppers, olive tapenade, cucumbers, blue cheese, Texas toast croutons, on a bed of mixed greens with their in house vinaigrette. Yummy! Additionally, I could have added a choice of meats. We were some of the first to arrive at 11:30, but it quickly filled with lunch time diners. Service was quick and pleasant. Usually not a fan of BBQ or anything fried, but I enjoyed what I had at BOwTie. I had the dry smoked chicken plate with Mac and cheesE and a house salad. The croutons were delicious, the Mac and cheese was actually pretty good (I grew up loving Kraft Mac & cheese on the west coast so that's what I'm used to!), the bread was buttery and delicious, and the chicken moist and had great flavor. One of my favorite restaurants/bars. The service is always spot on whether at the bar, inside sitting area or outside sitting area. Huge plus: the manager almost always drops by to check on you! And they listen to our comments and accommodate us without making the comment into a huge Q&A. They have drink specials, the bar is very nice and they have one, if not the biggest bourbon selections in Savannah. One of the new things that I learned recently is that they have events such as Bourbon and Waffles and they have a Facebook page where you can easily learn about BowTie Barbeque events. The inside restaurant is a little noisy in my opinion.... tile floor and lots of wood and hard surfaces. I know that BBQ places are supposed to be a little loud, but I like to be social. Outside is great, weather permitting and they frequently have live music. When there isn't live music, I love their playlist.... Leon Bridges, etc. The décor is cute inside and the bar area is spectacular. Food glorious food! The BBQ, smoked chicken and flourless fried chicken are all great. The greens seem a bit off to me, but I'm no expert. Maybe too much lemon and not enough smoky flavor. They have Poutin... not my thing at all, but I've heard from those that like Poutin, it is great. One new side is one of my favs.... I think it's sweet potato hash or casserole. I visit at least once a week so you should check it out. read more

TL;DR: Overpriced, overrated, and I'm beyond disappointed. Ok, let's start with the positive. The cornbread.....SO GREAT. Comes with two kinds of spread, red pepper butter and sweet cinnamon apple spread. I wish I had ordered a second one for my meal and stuck with that. I had the brisket. Now, Kansas brisket is hard to beat. But let's expand this globally because meat is meat and can still be cooked to make your taste buds dance. This was.... ok.... but it was tough. Good brisket smoothly comes apart like a silk. Great bbq brisket you don't need to add any sauce other than what was seasoned to with to smoke in the flavor. This was neither. I had to bathe it in sauce and my jaw literally got tired of chewing, what?!? $18 for 3 semi-thick cut slices and 2 tiny sides, and 1 slice of Texas toast cut in half. That said, for the typical basics such as green beans or baked beans, there is a $1 per side upcharge each. So, $20 for a basic brisket meal. I know this isn't Kansas....but I expected so much more for southern cooking. I've had excellent brisket in FL, CA, NY, TX, Canada and Dominican Republic. So....yeah.... Alright. The chicken. Wow. Didn't need sauce. That's what I'm talking about. Fired with a super thin clear crust and seasoned very well. Tiny chicken. My goodness. None of the sides we had (4 different sides in total, 3 premium ($3 extra) were over microwaved. These were made in 4oz containers and cooked in advanced, left in a warmer to crust and harden, and then heated (watery centers, separated ingredients, curdled). Beverages.....over priced and where was the alcohol? 6oz glass brimming with ice and $10. Hopefully that was just the bartender on staff that night. Save your money. The server was extremely aloof. She clearly didn't want to be there. When you're spending over $80 before tax and tip on a single meal....show up and refill my water at least once. We shouldn't be getting up to find you to do it. Two stars because the cornbread was worth stopping for. But that's literally it. read more

Let's start by telling you where we sat...they have a patio area which we decided for it since we are travelling with our furry family member. Our server for the night wss Kevin! He was pretty darn awesome. He was really good about suggestions - bourbon sauce. The manager came out to ask how we were doing! This is speaks a lot about places. I like this. My wife and I heard about the Bow Tie food truck at a local apartment complex in Georgetown. Bow Tie was on my "list" of recommended places. Holy moly!! The BBQ beans!! Unbelievable!! I'd go to the restaraunt just for a big bowl of beans and cornbread. Chicken strips, wings and mac were outstanding. And the spicy dipping sauce was fantastic. Captain Frank was super kind. Never had a bad meal here. Everything is prepared well and smells amazing even before walking in. I mean, I've eaten at nearby places and come out to smell this place it I wanted some even though I was no longer hungry in the least. Brisket is mouth watering here. Came here for lunch with my son and my friend. I'm from California and I don't think I can go back and eat barbecue. Bowtie BBQ far exceeded my expectations. Love finding small diamonds and this was one for sure. My son got the ribs and the meat was so tender it was falling off the bone and even though they were wet they were not a mess to eat. I had the shrimp wrapped bacon that I had added on to his meal and my only criticism was that I wish that could have had them as a full meal- so so good!! I debated on ordering the fried pickles or the fried green tomatoes and when I asked out server which was better he recommended the fried green tomatoes hands down. So that's what I went with. Lord help me they were delicious, the chews on too and red pepper jelly was to die for! We also got sweet tea and was happy to say he filled them several times! I've read some of the reviews and even though there are negative ones, I visit here again and twice in Sunday's- don't miss out on some great food and awesome service! Stopped in for lunch. Our server was pleasant, answered questions and even offered us drinks to go but didn't ask if we wanted dessert afterwards (she did ask the family next to us though). Ordered the Judge Doom's Dip with fries, which had more horseradish cream than prime rib. The cream had a great flavor but overpowered what little meat was on it. Fries were the best part. Also had the Gates of Modor, with coleslaw. The chicken was moist and had some flavor, didn't taste the onion ring at all. The coleslaw was average as were the portions for the price. read more

Went here for the first after flying in for work and this place was open later than most on a Sunday night. I ordered the brisket which were two large thick slices of meat. The only problem was they were fairly dry. The collard greens side that came with them and the salad with the poppy seed dressing were both very good. The texas toast was terrible. There was hardly any butter or seasoning and it was barely even toasted. I order Poke the Bear by Revelry Brewing. My best friend always was telling me to stop poking the bear. This one is for you Dale! Cheers! Lunch - Well the $18 brisket plate with a side of corn bread sound perfect to split with my daughter and it was. We were stuffed. I loved that I received some end pieces but the meat was a little over cooked, on the dry side. Note that corn bread is not a side but an appetizer. They really need to make corn bread muffins to go with each meal. Service - I was probably really annoying as I wanted my beer. I've been here 4 or 5 times. Food is always good, service is strong, pricing and portions are more than fair. Burger names force you to read the ingredients, not sure that is by design or not. First timers always need extra time with meal selection. Not sure if it's the best bbq in town, but it definitely has the most creative bbq menu. read more

I visited BowTies BBQ on a Thursday after work. It was my first time here, and sat at the bar since I was dining alone. Emily was the bartender on, and she was awesome! She was fun, energetic, and made me feel comfortable sitting alone. It was happy hour, so I took advantage of the drink specials (4:30-6:30, $4 beers, margaritas, and well drinks). I ordered the BT Classic with mashed sweet potatoes. It was fresh and seasoned just right. The bar and the bathrooms were clean, and I saw staff members sanitizing as appropriate. Just stumbled on this place as it is near a doctor's office we were going to. A great find. Before I talk about the food, I must compliment the service. Kayla was our server. She was all smiles and attentive and patient as my mother went back and forth on what she wanted. The food was quick and very good. I had a "bag of hammers" sandwich. Odd name, great sandwich. It is brisket nicely done with good marble and a salty seasoning, melted Gouda cheese and collard greens on the sandwich. Sounds odd, but the resulting flavor combination was nice. My family and I was disappointed with our experience at BowTie Barbecue. We are new to the area, and this was our first time eating there. As far as our food, the wings, cornbread and fries were burnt. The ribs were tender, but tasteless. Our waitress was slow, and kept forgetting when we'd ask for something... like a straw, refill or box. Keep in mind, this was lunch time, and there was only one other family there. Plus, it was raining outside, and water was dripping off the ceiling on to our heads and table. When we told the waitress, she acted like that was nothing. No one wants ceiling water dripping in their food. The one good thing we had was the Brunswick Stew and cornbread. The butter that comes with it was delicious. read more

Absolutely delicious food. They know their way around cooking meat to perfection. Even my daughters chicken fingers were exceptional. They have a beautiful bar area, indoor and outdoor seating & a very friendly and patient staff. Very casual vibe, which I love. Family friendly for sure. The menu was impressive, so was their lengthy bourbon list (That definitely caught our eye). Grabbed some wings with the Knee Deep sauce, fries & collards for lunch - absolutely everything was incredible. Wings were awesome and the fries were salty and completely addictive! Came for lunch. Clean building, nice atmosphere, however our waitress Cecelia L only stopped by our table three times, a greeting, drop off drinks and next for our payment. Ordered two of the same sandwiches, one large and one small. Only difference was one came on a bun, the other on toast. Not worth the price difference in my opinion. Barbecue sauce and special ketchup sauce was gross but needed something to dip fries and sandwich in so we ate it. $3.50 for a glass of tea is a little pricy. We will not be back. read more

I've gotten their Cuban sandwich, the gates of mordor, and the last time I got their chicken sandwich and that was very good! I think it has been my favorite so far. Very good sides here as well.
