    Fun place with friends!

Went to lunch at Bow Tie with friends, and it was so fun! I ordered Smoked Brisket, we all shared fried Pickles for appetizer. Brisket was truly one of the finest I have ever tasted! Tender and beautiful smoke one the Edge. Our server, C.C. , she was so fun and knowledgeable!! Definitely great Lunch spot in Savannah!

The food is good and the service helpful. The Ambiance is relaxed. The barbeque is good, something is missing.

Visiting Savannah for a race. This was where packet pickup was located. I had The Butterfly pork sandwich. The pork was lacking a smoky flavor but the sauce was good. Slaw and house pickles were very good. The service was good but a bit slow considering there were so few customers. We sat out back on the covered patio which was nice. Loved the tall fence around it so you were not looking at the parking lot. Overall a nice lunch.

Food truck menu at Anderson Mercantile market (May 8, 2021)

This review is based on an experience solely with the food truck. Bowtie BBQ's food truck (BB) was present for a market organized by Anderson Mercantile in Richmond Hill on Mother's Day weekend. I've heard so much about BB so I was excited to check it out! - TLC - It was a one man show and the guy was super courteous and easy going. Since he was alone, it was a bit of a wait as he was taking orders, cashing out customers and preparing the food one by one. He did great! - Noms - A few items on their menu caught my eye. I was happy to see ribs and pooooooutiiiiine! Being Canadian (also) and having grown up in the province of Québec where poutine was created, I am always curious to see how poutine is interpreted in other areas, now that the rest of the world has caught on to this delicious dish! Unfortunately for me, my friend ordered before me and got the last batch of ribs! Noooooooooooooooo....it's ok though. Good thing I love her LOL. I ended up ordering the Smoked Wings and Poutine (without ranch/blue cheese). Wings - FYI, these are whole wings, tips and all! Perfectly smoked and these were good size wings! There were 4-5 in the order so that's about 8-10 if you compare how other places count their wings (drum and flat). Poutine - BB's version of a poutine is fries, BBQ pork, choice of ranch or blue cheese (I opted out of this entirely) and their BBQ drizzle. They've alllllmost got a winner here! How can they leave out the most important part of the poutine which is the cheese?! The major components of a poutine are fries, sauce and cheese (actually cheese curds)! Add the cheese, any cheese and it would be complete! It ain't easy being cheesy, but it's gotta be done! Besides that though, I LOVED the big chunky fries which were fried to order and the BBQ pork was flavorful and plentiful and the BBQ drizzle was great! I took this to go and drove about 15 minutes back home and everything held up well. The parts of the fries not topped with sauce and pork were still pretty crispy , considering it was continuing to steam in the styrofoam to-go box. Overall, a good experience with great service and generous portions, but just cheese please! Stay safe, Friends!

No smoke ring, cut with the grain. Hard to tell this is a brisket!

First, the setting is absolutely beautiful. You're dining inside this gorgeous historic pink mansion, and you can feel the history and richness of the energy throughout the space. There is something so special about being there. It feels like an experience before you even get to the food. And speaking of those biscuits, they were genuinely some of the best biscuits I have ever put in my mouth. I could have eaten an entire basket by myself. We started with the goat cheese artichoke fritters, which were delicious. I also had the Low Country she-crab soup, and heavenly is really the only word for it. Rich, creamy, flavorful, just incredible. For dinner, I had the pecan-crusted chicken breast with blackberry bourbon glaze, sweet potato with pecan vanilla butter, and string beans. It was so, so good. Every part of the plate worked beautifully together, and it was exactly the kind of Southern meal I was hoping to have while in Savannah. The service was fantastic, and throughout the evening we heard beautiful live music from some amazing singers. Between the historic setting, the incredible food, the hospitality, and the music, the entire evening felt truly special. Bravo to everyone who works there and makes this place what it is. What an exceptional experience. I genuinely cannot wait to go back.

The service by our waitress Kristen, who was also the sommelier, was top notch. She gave us great wine recommendations for the choices we made. She also gave us a picture of what was on the menu. We ordered the She Crab soup and BLT. The fried green tomatoes sold me on the Pink House's version of a deconstructed BLT. The biscuits are great for dipping not just a snack so be sure you help clean the plate with them. Yum. I ordered the Vidalia onion and Sweet potato ravioli with oyster mushrooms with pecans. It was the best thing between my wife and I. She had the fried flounder with a side of asparagus. Whole fish without the head. I thought the fish was delicious. Paired with the Reisling Kabinett, while the Pinot Noir Argyle went well with the Ravioli. For dessert I had the Pecan Basket. The vanilla with fruit in a pecan weave held the whole dessert together. The raspberry peach sorbet was delicate and sweet. Both desserts hit the spot along with the coffee to finish up the night. The light, tables, paintings and decorations were perfect for a romantic evening with your special someone or dinner with the family to celebrate a special occasion. Whatever the case, this visit capped a great weekend in Savannah and Tybee.

Before our trip, one of my fraternity brothers told me that if I wanted some of the best Southern soul food in Savannah, I had to visit Mrs. Wilkes. He also warned me that there would be a long wait. Let me just say--he was absolutely right on both counts! We arrived at the restaurant and stood in line outside in the rain. We didn't get seated until 1:00 PM. Normally, I would not wait that long for a meal, but for the record, and I can't believe I'm saying this--it was worth every minute of the wait. The experience was unlike any restaurant I've ever visited. My wife and I were seated at a large table with approximately eight other people whom we had never met. Yet within minutes, it felt like we were dining with family. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and filled with genuine Southern hospitality. The food was simply outstanding. Every traditional Southern dish you can imagine was brought to the table and passed family-style from person to person. The home-cooked flavors reminded me of the meals many of us grew up enjoying. Everything was delicious, and the desserts were just as impressive. What made the experience even more special was the sense of community. People of different backgrounds and races were dining together, sharing food, conversation, and fellowship. The staff worked together seamlessly and went out of their way to make every guest feel welcome. While we waited in line, a gracious lady shared the history of the restaurant and the legacy of Mrs. Wilkes herself. The staff even provided umbrellas to guests who didn't have one--including me--which was a thoughtful gesture that spoke volumes about their commitment to customer service. From the food, to the hospitality, to the rich history and unique family-style dining experience, Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room exceeded every expectation. If you're visiting Savannah, this is not just a meal--it's an experience. I proudly give Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room a 5 out of 5-star rating and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Savannah.

The whole place is designed to feel like the inside of a trailer--spray-painted antique chandeliers, old pictures of different trailer parks, and random little details everywhere. It's kitschy, but very intentional, and honestly pretty cool. We came in late after a 4h drive into town after work, and the staff was still super friendly and accommodating. No "we're about to close" energy, which I appreciated. We started with the creamy collard dip, which is basically their take on spinach-artichoke dip, but with collards. Really good. I do think the chips were a little too heavy for the dip--a thinner chip would've been perfect--but that's a small note. The chicken pancake tacos were probably my favorite. The chicken was fried perfectly and still really moist. And at this point, I'm convinced Savannah just knows how to cook chicken. Everywhere we went, the chicken was consistently good. My partner got the grilled apple pie sandwich, which has fried chicken, grilled apples and bacon. He's not even a big pork person, but that bacon was so crispy and the whole combination just worked. Even the waffle fries were good--crispy, fresh and actually seasoned. We had the Grateful Dead and Wicked Kiwi cocktails, plus a couple of shots, and the drinks were strong, good and reasonably priced. Honestly, I don't have a ton of notes here. It's not trying to be some elevated dining experience. It's just a really good late-night spot with good food, strong drinks, friendly service and a fun atmosphere. We sat inside because Savannah in August was not about to have us sitting on anybody's patio. Definitely recommend, especially if you're looking for somewhere to eat late. It was a vibe, the food was good, and it did exactly what it needed to do.

This said, I do think there is inconsistency based on staff at the restaurant. On one occasion they have accommodated a request, and on another I was denied the exact same request. I found this frustrating. On one occasion I've also seen management talk down to staff here, which is a big no no for me. All people (especially staff) are due respect and this rubbed me the wrong way. This was an isolated incident but it definitely made my dining experience uncomfortable. Especially because I was getting excellent service from the server!!! I've always had quality service from servers here. In the future, I would come to Rhett for convenience as a hotel guest (the hotel is lovely), but would likely not spend my money if I wasn't staying at the hotel.
