The Fireplace in front of which the Santa Fe Trail was drawn up.

I came here after work alone to enjoy a nice meal in a small business in the historic section of the town I was born in, and wasn't at all disappointed. The service was fast comparatively speaking, though I imagine it was due to the small traffic at the time. I believe something to entertain yourself with at the table would help this for them when busier. The ambiance was that of a small cottage, because that's exactly what it is; one that's nearly 200 years old. With that being said, it wasn't too cramped and being able to see into the kitchen where my food is prepared was a nice touch. That food being obviously fresh from the moment I looked at it. I had their signature burger and a German Chocolate cake though the cake was unfortunately underwhelming: I did not like the flavor of some it as it wasn't what I expected or taste buds appreciated. I recommend coming here as a couple, and definitely at night for dinner: Main Street is beautiful when lit up in the winter.

I was here for a little bit today and had such a wonderful time. It was a nice sunny day with a bit of wind. But it was the perfect temperature with no bugs. It is so relaxing with not a big noise level. It's right on Main Street here in the historic part of st Charles. I ordered a red sangria and it was so good and refreshing. I did see guacamole bites with a strawberry sauce on the side. I had to try it and I loved it! The perfect combo! But let me just say I had the Ruben and it was delicious and filling. The fries they have are crinkle cut and they're not as crunchy as I would have liked but they were good. The staff was lovely. So fun! Will totally go again!

First time here, and can't wait to come back! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere here was so pleasant and tasteful. We sat on the patio and there was plenty of shade. Felt like I was eating in a cute, park cafe. There was live instrumental music. The vibe was just so relaxing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a bit loud if you're sat in front of the speaker, but otherwise superb.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the Chicken Salad Sandwich (yelpers highest reviews) and it didn't disappoint. Perfect for a summer lunch. I also got a cup of Lobster Bisque that tasted very fresh. We also got the Buffalo Chicken Wrap with fries. The fries were perfection and so was the wrap. The amount of sauce scared me at first, but it wasn't too spicy and was just the right amount. Service was quick and we look forward to the next visit!

This is a bit of a strange review I hate to give it 3 starts. The service was solid, the ambiance was nice. The food wasn't bad, but desperately in need of seasoning. I ordered the ribeye, which was too thinly sliced and definitely not the med-rare that I ordered, the sweet potato fries were cooked nicely and had a crisp to them. But, the. Overwhelming thing about the food was seasoning, by that I mean complete lack of it. I seriously don't think there's a salt shaker in the kitchen. Ok, maybe that's a bit harsh. But for the mid-market prices, there are way better choices to be had. That have decent burgers, and I've never had the other sandwiches, so I can't weigh-in on them. Don't know if this was an off night, but I was not thrilled for sure. Sorry folks.

Chicken Picatta

Chef Jim does it right!!! He came and visited, and gave us some suggestions. Man oh man, did we get served a 5 star meal! Started with a couple delicious apps of potato skins and lobster Rangoon. For entree I enjoyed the chicken piccata, homemade white sauce pasta side (amazing!!), and homemade clam & corn chowder. Others in my party got cod sandwich and Reuben, both of which we were happy with! Fish sandwich had perfectly toasted bread. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was great, super cute patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Very friendly server! Prices are very reasonable. Will be back.

Lobster rangoon- order it, you will thank me!

Hubby treated me here last weekend for my birthday. I chose this restaurant based on their dessert menu. I called the previous day to check their hours of operation as there is conflicting data between Yelp and Google. They told me then that they were closed due to their computers not working. I called again the day we were planning to go - they confirmed they were ready for guests. I asked about the desserts and if they had all the menu options everyday - they said yes and that there would be plenty of all of them. We made here about 5pm for dinner (dinner starts at 5pm). We sat on the patio and it was a beautiful night. Definitely take advantage of this option - this is one of the best patios I've been on!!! We ordered lobster rangoon to start and it was delicious! I ordered the jumbo shrimp dinner, Hubby got the bison burger. The food was good. the dessert I went here for was the Upside Down German Chocolate Cake - sold out by 530... so I asked for Coconut Cream Pie - also sold out... I ended up on German Chocolate Cheesecake Gooey Butter Cake, Hubby got the Red Velvet Cheesecake. I thought it was good, but it was served warm which was odd to me. I took most of the dessert home and it was much better when it was room temp. Though the dessert was good, I was disappointed that the other options were not available (especially since I called right before we went to make sure they had it). The reason for the low rating is mainly service. Our server was nice, but aloof. She was also slow. We sat at the table almost 10 minutes before she took our drink order. 2 other tables came in with a different server, ordered food (apps, meal, desserts), finished them and paid before we had received our meal. Also, all of our food was only "warm", not hot. Though it had good taste, the temp combined with the slowness of the server made me think it had been sitting before getting to us. It should not take 90 minutes for dinner for 2 people.... I may go back an order a dessert to go or hang on the patio on a nice day, but I would never go back here for a dinner when I had plans after.

Shopping with friends, stopped here for a bite. Always good food, today I had the Lobster Bisque and Lobster Rangoon. Both were phenomenal. Service was excellent. I'll be back.

Chicken pot pie

We enjoy lunch here from time to time, it is difficult due to the number of restaurants in the area, but our visits are always enjoyable. This time my wife has their version of chicken pot pie. It is served deconstructed style with the ingredients poured over biscuits. I had the steak sandwich with fries. It was a chilly fall day and this helped to warm us up. Service is prompt and accurate. We will be back when time allows

Great little restaurant on historic South Mainstreet in St. Charles. They have an attractive side patio for social distancing. If you're looking for a fun meal while enjoying an afternoon or evening in St. Charles, this place is perfect.

They have some unique offerings, and I have been eyeing the chicken and waffles online. Shared that and Avocado Toast with no Feta one of my daughters in attendance. I normally don't like leaving negative reviews, but something felt different this time. When we walked in there was only one other couple dining, and there was noticeable clutter sitting in the corners of the restaurant. It gave the place a different feel than what we remembered from our last visit. I ordered the Creole Breakfast Gravy. The biscuit itself was excellent--light, fluffy, and exactly how a biscuit should be. Unfortunately the gravy was disappointing. It tasted more like regular sausage gravy with a heavy amount of cayenne pepper and Cajun seasoning added to it. The flavors just didn't balance well. My wife ordered the Eggs Benedict. One poached egg was perfect, but the other came out over medium. That's something a trained chef normally wouldn't send out, and it made me feel like the kitchen might have a cook working the line rather than a chef overseeing the dishes. I do want to say the waitress was phenomenal. She was very attentive, friendly, and always made sure our coffee stayed fresh and hot. Her service was definitely the highlight of the visit. We will likely come back again because we know this restaurant can do better. Hopefully the kitchen can correct a few things and bring the consistency back.

Since our table wasn't ready, we decided to grab a drink at the bar. The Una Vida Margarita was absolutely perfect, made just to my liking. Shortly after we got our drinks, our table was ready, so we quickly moved to our seats. We started with the Scallops Scampi, which was a delightful combination of light breading and tender scallops. The rolls and butter were incredibly addictive. The Caesar salad was generously topped with shredded Parmesan cheese and had a creamy dressing. For my main course, I opted for the lobster combo, which included a 6-ounce filet, lobster tail, and three shrimp scampi. Why settle for just one when you can have them all? The filet was cooked to perfection and accompanied by a generous scoop of Tony's signature steak butter, which was simply delicious. The lobster tail was equally impressive, whether enjoyed on its own or with a squeeze of lemon and the butter draw they offer. The shrimp scampi had the same breading as the scallops and was just as tasty. Throughout our meal, we couldn't resist trying a few Una Vida shots. As always, they hit the spot perfectly. The server was fantastic and attentive, making sure to keep us well-catered to. He even joined in on our laughter throughout the evening. Overall, it was an incredible dining experience. It was our first time dining at Tony's on Main for dinner, and we're already planning our next visit.

They also cook books for sale in their resturant by another shop we had recently been to called Made by Lia. That was definitely a nice community touch to show how close the area is to their companions! In addition, we had a great first experience and will definitely be back with the rest of the family!
