So here's my review at this place walk in no appointment just in waiting on the line around 1040am there are 2 or 3 person walking at the register in and out the shop. So been waiting at the LINE just kinda ignoring me nobody said I'll be right there with or e been say hello give us few minutes then around 1110 am got some help he ask me some few questions about my vehicle and personal information. And I waited for about 1 hour 1210 pm. I took my truck in to have my parking brakes adjusted (after being fed some false information at another place i went to to get a state inspection) and he informed me that there was nothing wrong with my brakes and that they could do the inspection right then and there. I came here today and made an appointment. I thought I was late, only to find out my appointment was the next day. Regardless, they got me in and started on my car right away. I have come here many times before and have always gotten my car needs here. They were the ones who fixed my previous car issues with my previous vehicle when another shop was unable to do it. This business has earned not just my trust, but my parents too. However, today the only disappointment I will have to say was that being mindful of car seats that are lighter in color. I came in with a clean driver seat and left with some marks on it. Kinda puts a dent in my day. Hence, 1 star off. I do appreciate the discount for my wheel alignment and oil change. Took my car in to get brakes replaced, was told after they checked it out that if I did everything they recommenced (close to $1000) the problem would be solved and warrantied for life. I paid and a week later the brakes were squealing. They told me if I paid $60 they would "clean" debris which was causing the squeal. I did. Brakes still squealed one day later. Then I was told I needed new tie rods and alignment, but this was never mentioned the first time. Got that done, paid more money for "labor" on my warrantied brakes. Still screeched days later. Every time I go in, there is some "new" excuse which wasn't mentioned before that causes the problem. Did I mention the first time they replaced my pads they didn't tighten my lug nuts and two of them sheared off while driving? My girlfriend took her VW to get her oil changed. Paid and picked it up. Took her car to the dealership one week later for another issue and they told her she needed an oil change. Showed us the old oil. Brakes Plus charged her and NEVER changed her oil. My friend from work got his brakes worked on there and they left his lug nuts so loose he lost control of his vehicle driving down Preston Rd. This place is a scam. Ray is as sleazy a salesman as you'll ever talk to. Do yourself a favor and support a legitimate business, not this place which leaves your vehicle in WORSE shape then when you dropped it off. I came here on August 15 because I had a spare tire put on my car by my sisters boyfriend and he did not tighten the wheel nuts on properly. This led to three studs and wheel nuts popping off. My spare tire nearly came off and became non drivable. The moment I arrived, Ray greeted me and was there to see what I needed. Dexter, the other associate immediately checked my tire out. After evaluation, I needed a new hub assembly in order to get the replacement of my studs and wheel bearings properly put on. These parts were ordered and came in the next morning. The most honest auto shop I've been too since moving here 20 years ago!!! My 1st visit was for an alignment with a referral from discount tire. I made a morning appt and as I'm not a morning person- I was graciously welcomed by Ray! His customer service skills immediately transformed my no coffee morning, making me think to myself that working with Ray is a great start of the day! I was in and out in no time and after my alignment was done and I was checking out the mechanic noted that he had checked everything else out and my front brake pads looked great and there's probably about 25% life left on the back brakes:) I honestly believe any other shop would have insisted I needed a full brake job while my car was on the rack....because it's happened so many times before and ends when I ask to look at the rotors and getting a second opinion to confirm my brakes had plenty of life left before I needed pads let alone new rotors...As a female, I've experienced other service shops trying to take advantage of some belief that girls obviously know nothing about the mechanics of cars...Not this girl! I grew with a dad that had me working with him on all our home and car repairs from brake jobs, oil changes, filters, distributer caps even put in a radiator! Absolutely terrible service. I contacted the shop to get a quote for how much my car would be for a simple brake change on the front and rear. They stated only 149.99 for the front and 149.99 for the rear for parts plus labor. When I took it they tried to up sell me for parts I didn't even need replaced on my car and stated it would be 800 dollars. They ended up only doing my front brakes and still tried charging me 410 dollars. Terrible service and would not take it there if you don't want to be ripped off. read more

Went there for alignment (using a coupon); was told they could not do any alignment because the shocks were in poor state; and they gave me an estimate to get all the shocks replaced. I told them to do the best they could for alignment; and they said they did. I paid them and left, and forgot to pick up the before/after readings. Went back the next day, and they said they had the before readings, but did not save the after readings on their computer, so could not print out the after readings. So insisted on getting the after readings, and they did the standard check to see if alignment needed doing i.e. the free check equivalent. Results showed that all alignment was within specs. THis contrasted with what they had told me before that they could not do my alignment properly That left me wondering if their original assessment of needing all new shocks was just a ploy to get more business from me :( Left me wondering how legit their assessment was...... read more

I went to BrakesPlus to start with a free inspection. I have 3 vehicles and did not know when the last time I had the car's brakes done last. The employee had a shirt with Dave as the name. Dave said I needed all brakes replaced, front and rear. Some other brake service shops would have shown me the pads or my rotors to prove service needed to be done but Dave did not offer or show me any damaged parts. I also found out my previous brake job for my front brakes was in 2017. Dave also said they do not honor the lifetime warranty on the previous $129 brake job but he did give me $59 credit. After waiting about 2 hours, I walked outside to the bay my car was in and asked the mechanic to put the old brake pads in the box- I wanted to keep them. I also told another employee at the desk I wanted the old pads. Dave heard about me asking for the pads and confronted me, thought someone was playing a joke on him. After paying almost $400, I took the old pads to an auto parts store and compared them to new pads. First of all, 2-3 employees said my old pads were not bad enough to change yet. Second, I measured width and took pictures of the old pads and the new pads. The width of the old pads were- Front pads were 14.30mm wide and new pads were 16.52mm wide. The rear pads were-old pads were 11.66mm and the new pads were 16.29mm. None of the pads were showing or scraping metal to metal. So I feel I was ripped off by BrakesPlus at Vineyard in Frisco. I have heard of shops doing more repair than needed and ripping off people. I feel need to let Corporate office know what happened and maybe put a comment online as a review. I still have the old brake pads and pictures of the old brake pads. read more

3 months ago I went to KWIK CAR of Frisco for an oil change. They had told Me that my front break pads were at 20%, and had asked me to replace them. Being that I was in a rush, I didn't have time. Fast forward to today. I had noticed that my breaks had been screeching pretty badly (thus making it very unpleasant for my barista at Starbucks). The steering wheel would vibrate after breaking at a 40 mph and above. Today, I finally had time to get my pads replaced. I had been quoted $380.00 from CHRISTIAN BROTHERS (yeah, they rave of being honest and trustworthy, hence the name. Honest my butt). I also called GORDY, and they quoted me $340.00! I decided to go To the BRAKES PLUS on elderado and Custer. I was told, it would be TWO hours just to look over my car and see what was needed. I asked the guy why it was so long? (I saw two cars in the garage and another guy playing on his phone.) He said, "we just don't have the man power." I described what was happening and he quoted me $227.00. Annoyed, I left and drove to the BRAKES PLUS ON PRESTON AND COIT (this one). First off, they saw me quickly and efficiently. BRAD, called me and explained that the pads def needed to be replaced. He offered me two options of breaks. He did not pressure me into getting anything else. And he was very informative. After printing a $25.00 off coupon, it came to $80.00 (tax, labor and all). I was also told that I had a lifetime warranty on the breaks. Brad was very helpful. This will be my new spot for all other maintenance issues. At Least I know, they are honest and not hagglers! Oh!
