Amazing Brazilian steakhouse in downtown Houston! I brought my parents here when they visited me for the first time after I moved to Houston. It's also a good go-to date spot if you're trying to impress :) Dimly lit atmosphere that feels so fancy! The food is delicious and just keeps coming. Beautiful salad bar but with delicious candied bacon. Do your best not to fill up on that even though it's so hard not to. Visited Brasa's accidentally yesterday while walking to another restaurant. Initially we wanted to eat at Texas de Brazil, but the wait time was 4 hours. Luckily, while walking downtown we saw the restaurant. At first it seemed to be closed, but a server saw us looking in and opened the door to greet us. Oh boy were we surprised. The ambiance was great and most importantly it was no wait time. We were sat quickly and warmly greeted by our amazing server Makayla. She was sooo knowledge, welcoming and friendly - honestly treated us like family. We immediately went to the salad bar to give a taste test and was pleased! Once we settled away from that we begin to dive into the meats. We had a few favs such as the flank steak (yummy), garlic beef and the shrimp omg omg omg! Albert came over as well to make sure the visit was going well and we absolutely loved his spirit. He introduced us the the caprini drinks and it was very good and hit the spot - specifically the blueberry! While leaving, the owner thanked us for the visit and even gave my little one a balloon. For lunch I was amazed at the table service. These guys were on point and checked in you every 2-3 minutes. Fantastic service. One of the best I've seen at a Brazilian Gaucho. The meats are plentiful and it comes out fast, hot, and tasty. Ribeye 10/10- awesome and tender. Picanha 9.5/10- really good and they give you a lot Pork ribs 9.3/10- very tasty. I was surprised at how good it was. Shrimp 8.5/10- good but a little salty Chicken breast 9.5/10- very moist chicken wrapped in bacon. I loved it Wings- 9/10- these were very tasty but no match for the steaks The place is beautiful. See the pics. Very comfortable. Dark like all other gauchos I've seen around the nation. Stopped in the restaurant July of 2025. Very nice atmosphere and lighting. I thought the service was great and would recommend diner hours. The service was pretty fast. The feel of the space is upscale and is large. I thought the salad bar could go up a level for the price but the food was fresh and tasty. Yikes. Some of the most recent reviews were brutal. We came here on a Friday evening and had a really pleasant experience. The restaurant wasn't busy, but the servers were super attentive. At times, it almost felt like too much attention because multiple staff members were checking in on us constantly. Food was delicious from the salad bar to the sides and then the meat. I will say that there weren't very many different meat selections. But I can understand them not wanting to fire up a bunch of stuff if there's not a lot of customers to serve. This was a mediocre Brazilian steakhouse. Like other reviews mentioned, the entry does have a bit of a sewer backup smell. Went on a Saturday night, it was not busy but had still made reservations through OpenTable. Seated immediately, no issues. Server seemed to have a problem understanding a pineapple allergy within the party for the sangria order. Salad bar selection was OK - I've seen better selection at lunch time at better places like Fogo or Texas de Brazil. Meat was good, no issues with quality, but the selection wasn't great. I am a meat lover and a strong believer of you cant go wrong with steakhouses. Hence the second star. However, other than that unfortunately I was not satisfied with the whole experience. First of all, it is in downtown so good luck finding a parking space and expect to pay for it. I happened to have a sprained ankle too so I had to walk for 10 min (5min for a healthy person). Next, even though we were there for lunch and their site said $39.99, we were hit with $49.99 for the full menu. I just checked it again and no where it mentions about $50/person, or that $39 version is limited . If you choose limited option you can buy it cheaper but I was not there to eat 4-5 type of meat where at least 2-3 of them were cheap stuff like chicken and pork. Having said that if you are paying all that you might as well go to Fogo de Chao or similar higher quality places (with parking!) Anyways, moving on, we still ended up getting full menu and let me tell you we were still not impressed. For example, you either love lamb chops or hate it. I am in the lover category but their lamb chop was not even mediocre. I dont know how you can mess that up. Service is good. However nothing about this place felt authentic Brazilian steakhouse, more felt like I was in a Mexican restaurant. I love Mexican food dont get me wrong but I was there for a Brazilian Churrascaria! Carlos our server was more than accommodating during our dinner at this new spot in Downtown! The fresh side dishes that were brought out and constant supply of meat that came were cooked to perfection and seared just right. If I could give one star, I would. ‼STAY AWAY‼ the staff is stealing money. They are purposely skimming cash off top and over charging cards! The managers are in on it too! We had to call the police. We got our money back but it's ridiculous to have your night ruined with horrible costumer service and thieves. Celebrated Hubby's birthday and it was the best. Service was top-notch. They really make sure you get your meats the way you wanted. Our lemonades kept getting refilled without us even asking.
