    Filet mignon
    Dan R.

If you're looking for an old-school steakhouse that caters to a more traditional crowd, this is the spot. The filet mignon was hands down the best I've ever had--perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful (once I added a bit of salt). If I could rate just the steak, it would be an easy five stars. The wedge salad was also very good, a nice surprise and one of the better parts of the meal. However, I was a bit surprised they never brought out bread or rolls to start, which would have been a nice touch. Unfortunately, everything else was pretty lackluster. The sides and other dishes lacked seasoning, and I noticed younger diners around me all reaching for the salt shaker. The menu didn't offer a lobster tail add-on, which would have been a great option. The interior definitely shows its age--this is a classic, no-frills kind of place that longtime patrons probably love, but it could use a refresh. Service was solid, but the parking lot was a bit odd, and the warning signs about stolen items didn't exactly inspire confidence. Would I come rushing back? Probably not. But if you want an excellent filet mignon and a solid wedge salad, it's worth a try!

I forgot to take pictures of the food, but here is the bar at 10am!

Old school restaurant in San Ramon. We came here today with my husband's grandparents and we had a nice brunch. I got the cheese and mushroom omelette with hash browns and a muffin, my husband got the Denver omelette and my daughter got the egg with pancake and bacon. It was all good.

The combo seafood Louis Salad had bell peppers because the kitchen ran out of cucumbers! The waiter did not ask if the substitution was acceptable or not... The prime rib was tender but dry. The potato was dry and the creamed spinach could do with some seasoning.... This explains why most of the diners were older, and only 1/3 of the restaurant was occupied--they are locals who have figured out what they liked and keep ordering the same entrees... There are other steak places to try out....

While my car was at the garage, I walked to this nearby establishment for a bite. Although it's been a while since my last visit, it felt like stepping back in time. Unlike Cheers, the diners at the bar and restaurant didn't call out my name. The dining room had a few diners but you can definitely hear their conversations. I wanted something simple, I ordered the calamari fritter and California salad to learn later they ran out of mixed greens and offered to make salad with romaine lettuce with all the toppings described in their California salad. The waiter took it on himself to prepare the salad. I appreciate the gesture. The calamari was served hot and crispy with cocktail sauce. I prefer tartare sauce and ask for it. The substitute salad portion was generous and fresh. The dishes were reasonably priced. The service was attentive. For simple fare, I would return if I'm in the neighborhood.

After a long, exhausting day working out of town missing home and craving something comforting I was really looking forward to a good steak. What I got instead tasted like it had been dragged across a burnt, unclean grill. Dry, bitter, and downright disappointing. I needed a break, a good meal to lift my spirits, but this wasn't it.

The service was okay, but the food is not good. There was a fly on my plate and the waitress didn't do anything, nor was empathetic about it. Also, my steak was super red. I asked for medium rare not cook on pan for 5 mins rare. Their mash potatoes was not buttery or creamy at all, by far the worst mashed potatoes. I don't recommend.

We hosted a birthday lunch for 12 and had a private room in the back of the restaurant. Our waiter Dave was excellent; very flexible, great service, predicted our needs. The food was very good. We worked with Shahla to organize the event and everything went off without a hitch!

2 small bowls of minestrone soup at $9 each and one isn't filled all the way

I use to go to this restaurant for years and the parking lot was always packed. When it got bought out over 5 years ago the quality and serving sizes have gone down hill. We ordered a couple meals and minestrone soups. Each meal was $23 while the soups were each $9. We also asked for extra bread and it was forgotten about, but brought out when we told them they forgot it. The bread was re-heated and chewy, not fresh. The meals were pathetic in the amount of meat given. When asked why they only had 1 small chicken instead of 2 like they always did, they said it was by weight. I'm still starving after eating it. The soups were extremely small and we even tipped. This place is inconsistent and hurting for money as it is always empty inside. The ambience is dark and not welcoming. There were 3 families and a few men watching a game at the bar. Find a new restaurant to go to. We won't be back.

We were seated quickly outside. It was such a nice evening out and not cold. There were heat lamps too if needed. Our server was Toni. She was amazing and took care of us! She was super sweet and friendly! Excellent service. We ordered the streak frites, fish of the day which was a salmon and risotto, Paloma and lemon meringue. Steak frites was cooked perfectly! It was a hanger steak so it was soft and tender. Fries were crispy and it came with an arugula side salad. Dressing was lemony. Toni was so nice and even found us something similar to chimichurri sauce. The fish of the day was a salmon with risotto. It was cooked medium. Not over cooked and nice and flakey. Risotto was really good and lemony. The lemon meringue was probably one of the best desserts I have ever eaten. It came with a raspberry compote. The meringue was sooo soft and whipped and came with a delicious graham cracker crust. We even asked if they sold the pie as a whole but unfortunately they don't. Loved this spot! Will def be back. When my friend and I shared a plate, he made his disapproval known. I'm happy to pay a split fee. Just don't make me feel judged for it -- especially when the table ordered plenty of wine/cocktails, entrees, desserts, sides, and bottled water. Speaking of which: I asked for still, bottled water. He brought tap. When I followed up, he arrived with a single small Aqua Panna -- tap glasses still on the table. When I pointed out one bottle wasn't enough for our party, he dropped two more without pouring any of them. We now had twelve glasses of water crowding the table and not one filled -- except for the tap. That pattern held all night. Empty wine glasses, cocktail glasses, dirty plates -- nothing was ever proactively cleared. Everything required asking. Repeatedly. He also cleared across guests rather than walking around the table. Basic. But the most serious issue: at the start of dinner, he asked about allergies. One guest clearly stated a walnut and pecan allergy. He then brought out a dessert containing pecans. That's not an oversight. That's a liability. We tipped generously anyway... But it wasn't earned tonight. Esin has always been a place I look forward to when I'm back in town. Tonight was a real disappointment.

The same attention to detail reflected in the decor is also evident in the quality of the ingredients and the incredible flavors of each dish. Crystal glasses in a Thai restaurant? YES! They also offer mocktails which I wish I had time to try and savor. I ordered the Kao Soi Braised Short Ribs, and it was absolutely stunning; beautifully presented, generously portioned, and deeply comforting. The rich broth, tender bone-in ribs, and flavorful noodles made every bite memorable. I couldn't even finish the entire dish because I wanted to savore it slowly. As my husband and I are both movie nerds, it was only fitting to make a reservation at the restaurant featured in the movie. Don't judge us, ha ha. The restaurant is described as a restaurant with Asian influence, and the interior reflects this. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful and dimly lit, perfect for a date night. It has definitely been revamped since "Mrs. Doubtfire," but the date night aesthetic seen in the movie still remains. For drinks, I ordered the peach Bellini and my husband ordered the old fashioned. The peach Bellini was warm and sweet in a good way. My husband said his old fashioned "tasted off." For the appetizer, we ordered the charcuterie board. This is the best charcuterie we have had! The bread was toasted nicely. The brie, gouda, and manchego cheeses, as cheeses typically are ha ha, were very addicting. The apricot jam and truffle honey added nice flavors to the bread. The coppa and prosciutto meats were tender and not too salty. For our entrees, I ordered the Bridges burger medium well. It comes with herb aioli, LTO, and melted Havarti cheese, all between a toasted brioche bun. This is one of the best and juiciest burgers I've ever had! It was cooked to perfection, the cheese perfectly melted, and the bun both crispy and fluffy. The herb aioli was not overpowering and added just the right amount of "herbiness." My husband ordered the grilled pork chop, which comes with an apple chutney, applewood smoked bacon, collard greens, parmesan cheese grits, and a red wine demi glace. I tried his entree. As someone who doesn't really care for pork chops in general, I loved this one. It was very tender and juicy and the apply chutney was a delicious accompaniment. The cheese grits were well-cooked and seasoned, which pleased this Southern girl's heart. The red wine sauce was thick and a nice touch to the pork. For dessert, we ordered the molten chocolate cake. Unfortunately, there was no "lava" in the center, but the cake itself was very gooey and rich and the vanilla gelato offered by our waitress added an extra layer of creaminess and decadence! Our waitress was super nice and kept smiling the entire time, adding to this incredible dining experience. The other wait staff that assisted us were no different.
