This was an uncomfortable experience. When we walked in, we asked to sit in the bar and the host told us to go ahead and sit at a high top. We were about to sit when the bartender started screaming at us from across the restaurant that it wasn't clean. She made a huge scene, then proceeded talk to people at the bar about how we sat at a dirty table. We asked if we could sit there and the host said yes. The rest of the experience was ruined for me. I have always enjoyed bravo and really like the online order option. It's nice for a quick takeout dinner. However, lately the take out sizes seem smaller than in person and they have not been giving us the bread/oil which is a huge bummer. Going to the side entrance for pick up is really helpful as well. Was waiting to be seated and went to the ladies room. The bathroom was disgusting. There was pink scum all around the sinks, handles and mold and scum around the sink rims and on the faucet. Paper towels were overflowing and random toilet paper a fake nail, Q-tip on the dirty floor. I looked at the ceramic floor when I came out of the bathroom and there was black in the corners, the floor was dirty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile. I was grossed out and didn't take my seat to eat. When I left the restaurant there were finger prints all over the glass door. I couldn't stomach eating in such a dirty place. Met friends for lunch. First off, when entering the restaurant from the outdoor patio, all I could smell was cat urine. Not a good first impression. But, the inside looked inviting and the bathroom was fairly clean. We ordered off the lunch menu. I got Spaghetti Pomodora. So disappointed! Firstly, it was overpriced. $12.95 from the lunch menu. It included bread and oil with your lunch and the portion was very small maybe a half cup of noodles. To add soup or side salad was an up charge of $5.99. The sauce on my noodles was not very good. It was supposed to be a marinade like sauce with basil. It came with barely enough sauce to coat the noodles, very dry and it wasn't very good. I make better marinara. The basil wasn't incorporated into the sauce. It was 2 small leaves barely shedded sitting on top of the dish. The server did give us fresh parm at the table and brought us extra bread which was nice. She gave excellent service, she's the only reason, I'm giving it one star. Halfway through eating I found a long hair twisted up with a tomato in the middle of the noodles. Also, my silverware was dirty. Gag, gag! The waitress did comp my meal, which I appreciated. Oh, Bravo. I know it's a chain but we really used to enjoy your food for many years. Tonight for the Valentine's holiday, I happened to already be at the Galleria for an appointment and decided to order online here. Easy process and a $10 coupon offered at the start, which was great. I ordered one Fettuccine Alfredo, one Pasta Woozie, two chopped salads and a tiramisu. After I placed my order, prompted by a text from home, I went back online and placed a separate order to add a cup of wedding soup. When I got to the restaurant, I was welcomed and told where the new (to me) takeout station was located. I went over and was warmly and quickly greeted, and my order was ready. The staff member checked my order, even verifying that my late add-on of the soup was there, and cheerfully wished me a happy Valentine's Day. Great experience so far. Got home and noted the attention to detail packing the items -- salads and tiramisu in one cold bag, entrees, soup and bread in another warm bag. Nice. There were four pieces of the focaccia bread and two containers of the dipping sauce, making sure we'd have enough. The salads were absolutely delicious as always. Perfect. From here, unfortunately, it all goes downhill. The wedding soup, $7 for a shallow container that looked like it should be a dip and nearly $9 once I added tax and tip, was not even full in that tiny container, and the person who wanted it commented that it seemed to be the end of the pot, with not a lot of substance outside of the broth. The entrees, both with Alfredo sauce, were so dry it was very hard to eat them and we eventually had to doctor them up with butter and olive oil from home. So disappointing, especially for a holiday meal. The tiramisu was a highlight. Light, fluffy and delicious, and included a side of a coffee type of drizzle that was unexpected and made it extra decadent. At least our start and end notes were positive! But overall, at around $63 for this meal, including tip and also the $10 coupon, the soup and entrees were just not acceptable. read more

This Illy Philly was in South Hills and needed a quiet place to study and eat. I came to Bravo, and because it was happy hour, I sat at the bar and ordered. I ordered off of the happy hour menu. I had the Marguerita Flatbread, a Moscow Mule, and Calamari. The drinks and food were served quickly, and I enjoyed it. I then ordered dessert, but I regret it. I ordered the molten lava cake with vanilla ice cream. The molten cake was horrible, just not good. I can't even describe how bad it was. It was extremely dense, but not in a good way. The waitress/bartender was extremely nice and took it off of the bill even though I told her not to. The Calamari and Flatbread were good along with the Moscow Mule, but I will never order that Molten Lava cake again. The overall ambiance of the restaurant is good, the service was good and they have great dishes for happy hour during the week. The parking is free and it's inside a mall so you can get some unnecessary shopping done and then have a great meal with great service. Just don't order the Lava cake, lol. read more

I LOVE Italian food. On a recent trip to Pittsburgh to visit my family I was really jonesing for some chicken parmesan. The combination of melted cheese, marianara, all on a golden fried breast of chicken really hits me in the right spot - in my belly. Now I would ask my mom to prepare it for me but she doesn't know a parmesan from a pomegranate - I had to look elsewhere. As I often do, I pulled up my trusty Yelp app and reviewed the options. There are many options to choose from in Pittsburgh, I guess there really are a lot of dego-yinzers. Now while Bravo only registered as three stars on Yelp, it was within walking distance and something just told me it was likely underrated. I walked in and the scent of roasted garlic, oregano, and zesty tomato sauce filled my nostrils, it was an olfactory delight. I was immediately greeted by the maîtred, a strapping young man of no more than 17. Now let me tell you what really impressed me is that the young man not only swiftly seated me at my table but I was blown away when he identified the rare crystal pendant that I was wearing around my neck. We then had enriching conversation over some hearty laughs about rock and crystal collecting - if the night had ended there I would have been satisfied - he was a true gentleman and a scholar of stones. Beyond that the meal was a bit blah but that maîtred - worth 5 stars alone and if you are considering a visit...run don't walk to Bravo to be greeted by a rising star in the burgeoning Pittsburgh restaurant scene. read more

The last time I was in a Bravo location was ~15 years ago. Now I remember why. I wish I had something nice to say. I fiercely support the hustle it takes to run and/or work in a restaurant. Unfortunately, Bravo just isn't for me. First, it took well over an hour to receive our food, which was either cold or had the fine crust that only appears when food sits out for too long. One of our guests returned his simple spaghetti and meatballs for a quick zap in the microwave but never saw it again. When asked, the server blamed their manager, and when the manager brought it out after everyone else finished, they blamed the banquet coordinator of another party. Was here last night. Had never been here before but enjoyed it. Social was being practiced. Our little group was set up in a private group and we got to enjoy quality time together. I should mention it was 2 days before valentine's day, so I do believe some stuff was just available through a special, but you could probably ask if they have it. Our server was Angela and she was just great all around. She kept our drinks full, and our bellies satisfied by always ensuring that we had something on queue. It was our friend's birthday and Angela helped by bringing a special dessert for our birthday lady. Plus, she also helped by giving the check to me instead of letting my friend pay for the whole table like she wanted to do on her birthday. I got the flirtini, which was a flavored vodka with passion fruit flavoring and a cherry. Also got the Italian margaritas. Let me just warn you that the drinks are very strong. Definitely enjoyed them. My friend ordered the sea bass special for V-Day weekend and enjoyed it. She said it was well made and flavored, and did not taste fishy. Our other friends got the egg plant pasta dish (?) And he said it was really good and he was satisfied. I ordered the fra diavolo with shrimp. The food was alright, it did not have any outstanding flavors for me to not. I was pleased that the spice level was "mild" and didn't sting my mouth since I can't handle spices; this was possible because Angela let me know it was an option and she noted it for my order. Did I mention that Angela was really what made the experience fantastic? She definitely influenced me into giving a higher rating. No, I don't know Angela and she did not pay me. In fact, Angela has restored my faith that not all Angela's are created equal. Let's just canonize her already because she was an actual angel. read more

I'm not one for chains, but when I go to Bravo, I'm always pleased with my meal! Their salads are always fantastic, and the entrees are delicious. So far I've had the pork chops, chicken parm, and chicken Marsala and all were great. The chicken parm is notably the best entree I have tried, and it's served in a casserole dish with pasta swimming in a beautiful creamy tomato sauce. Yum!! Perfect for a Sunday evening comfort meal! The only thing I will say is staffing issues are a thing here and service can be slow, but it's understandable as most businesses are experiencing this. Disappointing visit. I typically have the NY Strip and although Bravo isn't known as a steak house it's always been an excellent choice. Tonight the poor thing that I ordered medium rare came well done and wan't looking or smelling like it was a good cut to start with. Server was so long on coming back to us that everyone else had about finished so I had her take it off the bill and went without. And wow ... glad she did. The price on that one is up to $42. For a Bravo steak? Ouch. The pork ribs I made myself when I got home were excellent, though. read more

COVID-19 Review -Happy Hour 4-6 which includes food, and drink specials. -All menus are scan only. -Staff wore masks properly. -Tables social distanced. -Outdoor seating is available, there aren't many tables and they are sort of thrown together. There is one heater, so this may not be your outdoor seating spot in cooler months. We chose to sit inside, and weren't near any other tables. Our waitress was great, and our food was fantastic. Made reservations for 7:30 PM using OpenTable. The hostess station confirmed they got the 7:30 PM reservation. We got seated at 7:45 PM. Ok, fair enough. It was more than apparent the hostess station had no idea what they were doing. Total chaos and cluelessness. The one hostess carrying toilet paper stored underneath the hostess station to the bathrooms multiple times sure seemed focused on her job, however. Seriously, why would you store toilet paper there? Who is the genius manager/suit who came up with that idiotic idea? Ok, moving on... Got seated. Table linens are filthy. Nice. Look at the photo I attached to see for yourself. Started off with the $10.00 bowl of wedding soup. Big mistake. I ordered the Pasta Bravo for my main course; another mistake on my part, more on that later. Wedding soup was cold, bowl was hot like it had been microwaved. I sent back the soup and asked for hot soup. Soup came back barely warm. Bowl was warmer, again, like it had been microwaved. And by the way, if you're going to charge $10.00 for microwaved wedding soup, can you at least fill the bowl? Oh yeah, the oil and bread they give you before your meal is nasty at best. While the bread itself tastes just ok, the oil is bland. Why bother? It reminded me of looking at motor oil filled with bits of rust. It's totally flavorless. The Pasta Bravo dish was mediocre, the chicken was way overcooked. Several pieces of chicken had these "hard" spots on them as I chewed, necessitating the need for me to intimately spit them out. Nasty. Overall, for what Bravo charges, you should be getting far better quality food. For $10.00, I'd expect a bowl of wedding soup to be hot and not what feels like was microwaved. I cannot recommend this place. It's gone downhill like nearly everything else these days. No one wants to put an honest effort in their work anymore; and it definitely shows at this Bravo location. We've been coming to this Bravo for years. We hadn't been there in a while and returned this weekend and we're somewhat disappointed. While all of the food was decent and the service was friendly, the service was slow and everything came out cold. However, everything tasted good! Haven't had a sit down meAl in this restaurant since Covid and was looking forwand to dinner with friends. We were required to sit as couples according to waitress. The entrees came at different times for the whole table. Probably 15 minutes between delivery of 1st entree and last. All of the Parmesan meals were over cooked and "sauce" we were told is a garnish on the side and all the noodles were in butter sauce. 50% of my friends were very disappointed in their meals. The food itself is good, not anything very special, however it's the reason for 3 stars. I ordered the chicken parm. You get 2 large chicken pieces and a healthy helping of pasta. The chicken and noodles were cooked nicely, there was plenty of cheese covering the dish, and a good amount of flavor on the breading. The sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste, but it didn't ruin the dish. Caesar salad was also good and refreshing. The service on the other hand was disappointing. While our servers were very nice, and probably overwhelmed on a Friday night, there were a several things that hindered my experience. We had a private room for our party of 14, so I expected more attentive behavior. It took a while for our drinks to come, my friend's was the wrong one and we had to ask about my friend's beer 2 times before she told us they were out and another would have to be ordered. We also had to ask for bread to be brought to our table. The food took what felt like forever too. The manager did come in to give an update of our meals and apologize. Then came us trying to pay our check. I would estimate it look 15min for her to come back and swipe the card. Covid really did a number on allot of restaurants that were once good now are terrible, BRAVO, SMOKEY BONES,OLIVE GARDEN. These places were fresh and delicious at one time, now its all about money !! No quality, and everything comes frozen and is reheated, and to add insult to injury, the prices are ridiculous !!!! Long Horn is pretty good and consistent, so we still dine there often. I think I had one small piece of lobster in my bisque, my Salmon on my salad was over cooked , the calamari was very greasy and they served it in the sauce Instead of serving it on the side which I didn't care for. Good food. Big portions. Great staff. I was VERY pleased with our takeout experience from Bravo. We started with calamari. We brought it home and toasted it up in the oven and it was quite tasty. The real star was the lemon aoili dipping sauce. This really made the whole dish seem even better. Our meals came with side salads which I was genuinely very impressed with. It was a HUGE portion and the ingredients were top notch. The bacon crumble topping was unexpected, but quite nice. I went with the Sausage Tortellini and my wife had the Pasta Woozie. Again, the portions were very large. We both preferred my dish - it had a nice level of spice to it and was very satisfying. My wife's pasta was good - though I don't think it traveled home as well (this would be something I would try in-restaurant). We shared a piece of tiramisu. Again, the slice was large and very tasty - it blended the main flavors really well (Coffee, Chocolate, Marscapone). I think they accidentally included a caramel drizzle (meant for the cheesecake), but I didn't mind at all and even tried a bit with my tiramisu. Overall a very good meal and a great takeout option. I ordered the chicken Marsala and it was dry, have very few mushrooms and barely any sauce. The mashed potatoes were lumpy and the green beans weren't even cooked. My husband ordered the lasagna and it was only about an inch high and as he stated he had much better lasagna in other restaurant. To top it off we were overcharged and had used Apple Pay so the girl made some excuse up and we are waiting for our refund of $21. I won't be returning to that location again read more
