They never have the products they advertise. I've gone twice now and the singular product that they're using to headline this store isn't in stock. They have several locations and refuse to bring it to their other locations which are less out of the way. I find this practice to be inequitable and without a preorder system in place this encourages people to line up for the limited product. This is pretty sour in a pandemic. People shouldn't be lining up overnight for anything. read more

Stumbled upon this bakery / coffee shop and it was really good! My group of 5 was able to sit in the spacious seating area inside and the almond chocolate croissants we had were really tasty and tasted like they were baked fresh. I would come back! read more

Breads Bakery is a great addition to the UES! I ordered the Jerusalem Baguette, Chocolate Chip cookie, and Oatmeal Raisin cookie. Everything was absolutely delicious and freshly baked. I can't pick a favorite because it was all so good. I will definitely be returning try more of their items! Recommend checking out this bakery! read more

Arrived early to my dentist appointment at Tend and stopped by Breads Bakery. What a delicious treat! Great coffee and bread pastries. I went with the almond croissant and it is perfectly toasted and tasty just how I like. They also have cheesecake which was difficult to say no to. Came with my family after shul hopping for some coffee and i was completely disappointed. This place either has the best cappuccino in the city or literally the worst, no in between. I was given a cup of tepid milk, not even a hint of coffee flavor. Literally any coffee vending machine could make a better cappuccino which is saying a lot. If you want to experience the worst baristas in the tri state area i guess breads is your place. Can't believe I spent $5 each on a cup of warm milk for the family. I got like 9 kids it was a lot of money. Could've just taken them to morton williams for a glass of milk. Poor baby shmuly is still shook and he's seen a lot. read more

They're still working things out here. Setup is inconvenient. They don't seem to have indoor dining yet, and despite a pretty big space, the back is largely not utilized, while the front is too crowded. You must wait on separate lines (and pay separately) to get both coffee and dessert, both in the crowded front area. Almond croissant was delicious, though packaged cookies and cakes were just ok. Espresso drinks are pretty good, not great, and never seem to be hot enough especially for drinking outside. Male weekend barista was distracted and just hanging out talking to friends. read more

Visiting from LA and my goodness this has to be the best bakery I have visited. Everything was phenomenal! The feta & spinach bureka, potato bureka, and the chocolate almond croissant are an absolute must! We also tried the cheesecake and the cinnamon roll, those you could pass in my opinion but others liked it. Coffee was trash, I would pass, maybe do a tea instead but absolutely try the things I recommended! read more

Breads Bakery continues to expand their their mini-chain, along with our waistlines. What started as a off street location in Union Square, then the upper west side and now on the Upper East Side, it has created a trifecta, but certainly seeing a polygon in the near future. This new outpost is special in its own special way because this is the only location that's offering their version of the black & white cookie. When Glaser's closed back in 2018, best known for their black & white cookies, I was saddened by the lost of a century old family business. But that's the reality that nothing truly last forever. Luckily, new incumbents are reviving tradition albeit with their own twist. Their cookie base is like a croissant blessed with a vanilla-bean (not artificial dare I say) glaze (not a floppy frosting) and the other half with a dark cocoa powdered glaze. But wait, chocolate chips dispersed within the cookie. A blasphemy perhaps, but something fresh not experience. For the non sweet tooth, get the marble rye loaf with their special tang from that pumpernickel component. Definitely no your supermarket packaged version. Of course, the usual pastries and baked goods will be sold as well. This is a strategic business move for Breads to move into this neighborhood with so many family oriented denizens and well-off residents. Sad to not see Maison Kayser not returning, but delighted it is replaced by a high caliber bakery. read more

For the three times I visited, the line was consistently very long (at 9/10 AM) and they always ran out of certain items. The experience is just so much worse than the union square location: most shelves upon walking in to the store are empty, and you need to immediately be in the line to see what's available by the counter. I still love their stuff, I just won't come back to this location. read more

I've gone the past two Sunday's for their scrambled egg and cheese on a fresh roll and have enjoyed other goodies as well such as their chocolate rugelach + borekas. Everything is beyond incredible! Bread's Bakery has terrific breads, cookies, cakes, sandwiches, salads. The best. Expensive, and worth it. One of my favorite places, and I'll keep coming back -- daily bread, special holiday treats, or just coffee or a sandwich when passing by. Bread's is a 5 star place, no doubt. But service at the counter can improve. Always some kind of imbalance between pick up and payment where you wind up waiting on two lines. Seems to be a division of labor behind the counter which doesn't always work for the customer. Given how great everything is, hope this glitch improves. read more

Best croissants in the UES, no other bakery in the area compares. The olive cheese sticks and chocolate are also pretty great but those crispy, flaky, pillowy, buttery croissants are the star here. read more
