Honestly Breakfast Republic is probably one of the first restaurants to fuel my love for brunch when the chain started in 2015. This is by far my favorite location. No matter how busy they are, the wait never seems that long. On average it's about 30 minutes. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and it's super easy to find parking in the lot. You cannot beat their food and drink options and especially you cannot beat their prices for breakfast/brunch. On my last visit, once we were seated, we were able to order right away but service did seem to not be great after the first interaction. We had to keep flagging down whoever we could to get our drinks or put in other orders since our server didn't like to come back or ever check on us. Nonetheless we had a fantastic brunch. I came in that day specifically because I was craving the Ube latte. If you haven't had one, you are absolutely missing out. This is hands down one of my favorite coffees. Every location makes it perfectly. I've never been disappointed. Everyone at our brunch tried some of mine and decided to order their own. Some even asked for it to-go. I had to order my favorite Benedict, the San Diego. This is my go-to order but I absolutely love their chilaquiles and their California breakfast burrito. Honestly you can't go wrong with anything on their menu because their scrambles and sweet pancakes and French toasts are all killer. My San Diego eggs Benedict was delicious as always! I've always loved Breakfast Republic and have made it out to multiple locations! so cool to see that this location has added a private dining room off to the side of their normal dining area. It looks to have 3 tables that can fit a decently large group of a least 7 people probably more depending on how close you want to sit in the booths! Will keep in mind for the next time I want to host a brunch event. Food here was delicious as usual: my normal order at Breakfast Republic is one of their Bennie's or breakfast mac and cheese. loved all their pancakes and French toast here too! Oh I hope this is the correct location! Visited on a rainy Saturday while in La Jolla. Grant was our server and he was excellent. It looked like they had 1 host, 1 manager, 1 server, 1 busser, and 1 food runner. All the staff were very kind. We come here for a breakfast date occasionally and it's always so good. The service has always been very efficient and our servers have been friendly and helpful. The decor inside is very well done and it brings the strip mall location to life. We also love the swag shelves and always end up leaving with something cute. But the star of the show is the food. I get the crab cake Benedict every time because I'm a creature of habit and why would I stray from perfection?!! So delicious and the spicy jam is such a unique addition. My husband usually tries something different each time and has enjoyed them all. I'll add the immune boost when I'm run down and it works its magic. Its slightly loud due to cement floor & hard surfaces, but there is an option to sit outside. began with the big boozy brew shots. So delish! I think id come back again just for this. espresso vodka, espresso shot & irish cream topped with whipped cream. I ordered the shrimp & grits & a spicy bloody mary. Perfect together. The shrimp & grits were so so so good! the grits were creamy and the gouda cheese gave a wonderful flavor. Shrimp was perfectly cooked and there were plenty of them. The spicy bloody mary is spicy for sure so be aware, but for me, its the best bloody mary around!!! My husband had the grilled turkey sandwich. Unfortunately this was a bust. The sourdough bread was totally soggy & falling apart. Could not be picked up to be eaten, had to use a knife & fork. The turkey slices were large but lacked flavor. The bacon had great flavor but was limp and soggy too. cheddar cheese was slimy, tomato & avocado were fine. My guess is the garlic aioli was too much for the bread. If I were to order this sandwich again, I would get the aioli on the side. French fries were well fried but over salted. My husband only ate some of half of the sandwich & some of the fries. We brought the rest of the sandwich home for our dog-he approved- -2 paws up :) Husband had the michelada & said it was good-spicy but not overly so. What I know made the meal was our service!! Liz, who is the bartender, was our server. She was so personable & delightful. You can really tell she loves interacting with her customers. SD is not typically know for its customer service-in fact its our biggest complaint when eating out!!! Liz KNOWS customer service!!!! We ordered the French Toast flight: Brioche, S'mores, & The Presley. All three were so good. The s'mores was like eating dessert! And loved the bacon & peanut butter combo in The Presley! It sounds strange, but the combination worked! The saltiness from the bacon complimented the sweetness of the peanut butter. It's making my mouth water just thinking about it! We also ordered the chicken sausage and potatoes. Not just regular potatoes, but potatoes with Brussel sprouts and bacon! Yes, it was delicious! We have had breakfast here several times over the past year and the food has been consistently tasty. They have a menu with some very original dishes. My daughter and I love the lemon coconut pancakes. They are delicious. My favorite side is the Brussels sprouts potatoes. They are very flavorful in spite of the fact that I usually don't like Brussels sprouts. If you are a meat lover, the Jurassic pork is a great choice. Our friend really enjoyed it. The bottomless house coffee is quite good as well. The portions are generous. The restaurant has a cool vibe and the staff has been solid every time. TLDR: All in all this location is just the absolute worst breakfast republic. The food wasn't that good. The server was absent minded (misheard our order and forgot 2 of 4 drinks). I love Breakfast Republic. I always recommend it to people for brunch but this Encinitas location is terrible. Food: the pancakes were solid. They always are. However the potatoes that came with my omelette were all dried up end pieces. There was a very generous portion but of the 50 pieces, there were maybe 4 cubes of potatoes and the rest was dried up edges. I definitely got the last of the batch. The side of bacon was just sad. It was the thinnest sliced bacon ever. Service: it was awful given we went on a Thursday morning and there weren't many customers. There were maybe 3 or 4 other tables besides ours and everyone at those other tables was always looking for a server. We also didn't get 2 of 4 of our drinks. We thought they would come eventually but they never did, so I asked the server to forget them towards the end of the meal. On the receipt it said that the cutomer returned the oj and the lemonade. To be more accurate, it should say "server never brought to the table." Also I ordered the $8 fruit plate but what came was a tiny plate with 4 thin apple slices, 4 pieces of mandarin and maybe 1/4 cup of pomegranate seeds. I was stunned so I asked the server, that is the $8 fruit plate? And he was like, no this is just a side of fruit. And then....again no fruit plate showed up. Then when I get the check? I saw that it was a $4 side of fruit. The fact that they charged $4 is ridiculous for the small amount of fruit but it was doubly ridiculous since I ordered something different. I didn't even know you could order a side of fruit. I didn't even see it on the menu. To make matters worse, our server then argued I ordered the side of fruit but then I countered that I actually ordered the fruit plate, and that is why I asked "this is the $8 fruit plate?" Stopped by Breakfast Republic over Labor Day weekend and had the absolute pleasure of sitting at the bar where Elizabeth was bartending -- and WOW. Even with the holiday rush and a full bar, she was calm, cool, and totally on point. Elizabeth somehow knew exactly what we needed before we even finished deciding -- from food to drinks, she absolutely nailed it. The menu is packed with amazing choices (seriously, how do you even begin to choose?), but she made some casual recommendations that turned out to be spot on. Also, can we talk about her lattes? Smooth, perfectly balanced, and just what we needed to kickstart the day. You can tell she really takes pride in her craft -- and it shows. Thanks for the stellar service, Elizabeth! This place has been so disappointing the last couple of times I've been here. The last time I was here my Avocado Toast tasted so bland and had almost no avocado on it, and was falling apart before I could even pick it up. That was the only real time I was disappointed, but this time was even worse. Everything was either significantly overseasoned or underseasoned. There was not 1, not 2, but 4 pieces of black hair in our food. The Jurassic Pork tasted awful, and usually it's my favorite thing about this restaurant. The only good thing were the potatoes. I was so disappointed with this experience, I used to really love coming to Breakfast Republic but it's definitely gotten worse within the last year or so. The welcoming experience from the server was not welcoming at all. He was vey sluggish, seemed like he just was there to be there. The food was not appetizing at all. The rice was very mushy the beans were still hard not cooked all the way. The sauce used for the chilaquiles had no flavor very bland. This was our first time there. It was the best of times, and the worst of times! The place has such a great ambiance - decor is lovely, bar is well appointed, a great overall vibe. We got sat relatively quickly (2 of us) and were greeted and ordered in a timely fashion. they have a great range of brunch drinks and their classic bloody mary is delicious. It tastes fresh and homemade just as they claim! However, the wait for our food was well over 40 minutes and this killed the good vibe. To the credit of the waiter, he was kind and honest with us about the big delay. Turns out head kitchen chef quit and they were scrambling. He saw we weren't happy and comped us two bloody Mary's while we waited. He also apologized several times. Sadly after that long wait, the food was meh. My eggs and potatoes were overcooked and the toast was more like warm bread. Not sure if this is due to kitchen staff issue... The response from waiter and free drinks to try and make it right makes all the difference however. And this is why I will go there again in good hopes that our experience was just an exception because of being short-staffed. read more

I first tried this chain a couple years ago at the Downtown location. Over there we had to wait for over an hour, but we had a much more expedited experience this time. I love the unique twist Breakfast Republic takes to some typical brunch dishes, and the price is quite affordable. - Cafe De Olla: Highly highly recommend for coffee drinkers. The cinnamon flavor is so strong and there's a natural sweetness to it so you don't even need to add sugar/cream. - Breakfast Jambalaya: I would've never thought about having jambalaya for breakfast, but this was so tasty! Lots of shrimp too. - Crab & Crawfish Cake: One of the most unique eggs benedict I've had. The slight sweetness from the jam paired nicely with the savory, seafood taste. - French Toast Sampler (for 2): You can choose 3 french toast flavors for the sampler. We got Mr. Presley, banana split, and strawberry & mascarpone. The peanut butter, banana, and bacon crumble was the perfect combination. The banana split was my favorite. The bruleed banana with a scoop of vanilla ice cream was so good! The strawberry & mascarpone wasn't super special, but I appreciated how it wasn't too sweet. Lots of parking in the mall although there are a lot of restaurants in the area so it may get busy. I was really disappointed in this location. I talked up this brand to my friend because I had been to another location and loved the food and staff. We went here this past Monday around 9am and there were maybe 3 tables with people, 1 guy at the bar and 3 staff members. It took them 5 mins to seat us. The guy behind the bar who ended up being our server saw us and another guy saw us and no one greeted us or told us someone would be right with us. So we waited. We were finally seated and after a long wait we were finally greeted by our server with glasses of water. We waited long enough to decide what we would eat from their unique menu, look around the restaurant and admire the paintings and then stare at each other for a few minutes. Our server took our order and food came out in a timely manner. Everything looked good except my daughters fruit plate which looked more like a side fruit plate. To add to insult to injury the fruit plate they gave consisted of figs, old/bruised pears, apples, blueberries and cantaloupe. What kid eats that stuff? And why would you put old fruit on the plate? We asked to take it back and requested a toasted english muffin instead. I was so disappointed and somewhat embarrassed because again I spoke highly of this chain and it was not holding up to what I had said. read more
