Came here with my family after a school project trip to Cabrillo National Monument. This day being a holiday AND on a Saturday. The place was busy, to say the least. Combined with the Hollandaise sauce and their house brand hot sauce. Mmm Mmmm. My wife ordered the Steak and Eggs (sorry the pic was blurry so i did not post). On arrival of her dish, I have to admit i was a little jealous. It was plated on a cutting board along with a mini frying pan filled with eggs, a cylindrical stack of hash browns and of course the skirt steak with chimichurri sauce on top. Other than the Chimichurri sauce looking like it was being rationed (kinda skimpy) my wife enjoyed the dish. My son ordered pancakes and bacon. He demolished both and we even ordered more bacon. I wish he ordered their Jurassic Pork. I wanted to see how they looked and tasted, but my kids are not adventurous. He wanted regular bacon. I ordered their chilaquiles, which is a dish I make with some regularity at home. Their version was delicious, dare I say as good as mine? Nicely done. I enjoyed seating on the outdoor covered patio and appreciated the view of the quaint Hillcrest neighborhood. I had the American and a side of the Banana French Toast. My plan was to have a couple bites of the french toast (trying to watch my portion control). This was an epic fail as I could not stop taking another bite. It was sooo delicious. The description of the Shrimp and Grits sounded so amazing. The menu mentioned it came with eggs. I was disappointed when I received my meal. There were much more eggs than shrimp and grits. I was told I had to pay an additional $6 for more grits. I declined since this was already costing $20. I could only imagine how few extra grits I would get for paying more than 1/4th of the original price. It tasted good, but I left feeling like I didn't have enough to eat. You can never go wrong with choosing Breakfast Republic as a place to meet up with friends over the weekend. We picked the Liberty Station location because it was equal distance to all of our houses and was away from the Rock and Roll Marathon traffic in the morning. We were shocked to score a table right at 9am for the 4 of us but it was slammed when we left and there was a line of at least 20 people deep waiting to get a table. I ordered their delicious coffee cake for the table to start, we all got coffee with cream and I asked for an OJ to go to sip on later. I ordered the standard breakfast fare with egg whites, chicken sausage, potatoes, sourdough toast with butter and jam. The sausage was awesome and crisp just as I like it and the jam on the side with the sourdough was spectacular. My friends ordered the breakfast burrito with the Jurassic pork bacon. The burrito was massive and half was packaged to go. They also ordered the buttermilk pancakes, the avocado toast which was light and yummy and a side of the Brussels sprouts and potatoes. I don't know if I was expecting too much but I was super disappointed. The wait was really long but that was expected. Our server was really nice. We ordered a seasonal fruit plate to share and a few mimosas while we waited for our breakfast to arrive. The "seasonal" fruit wasn't ripe, it was hard and tasted like dirt. We could barely eat any of it. We both orders eggs Benedict, it came out and it was just ok, nothing special. They lacked flavor big time. The potatoes had what tasted like way to much fennel to enjoy. I really don't think the prices reflect the quality of the food. The best thing we had were the mimosas. If you are aiming for some breakfast fixing this is the place to go starting with your coffee if you like it strong! I love that it is endless refills for the Mexican coffee as well as the regular. You will walk out of here cockling like a chicken if you take more than 3 cups. I love that their merchandise are also on sale because they are just so darn cute. Food wise if you love sweet there is endless selection of sweet items as well as savory if you are a little salty, no pun intended. The week can be quite long on the weekends but it is to be expected since the food is so good and we are yelping so well!!! Services very attentive and speedy. By far the best BR I've been to. While the menu is the same at each one, this one outshines the rest. Fast service despite how busy it was. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely amazing as always. They have something for everyone on their menu, catering to carnivores and vegans alike. The bathroom was kinda dirty it also smelled like spoiled eggs, the tables smelled too making it uncomfortable to eat. The mugs were super dirty and had build up around the walls. This place is located in Liberty Station which is a very cool spot to visit if you have time to walk around after brunch. We arrived very early to make sure to beat the crowded brunch time. It was about 9am when we showed up and the restaurant was already jam packed. The wait was 5-10 minutes so not bad at all. We ordered their special Katsu dish, the flight of pancakes, and chilaquiles dish. I didn't try the pancakes or katsu special but my friend thoroughly enjoyed them both. The pancake flight can be a bit overwhelming if you are eating that with another dish so be sure to share that with someone else as well. The chilaquiles came in a red sauce and were incredible. Crunchy in every bite and a nice kick to the red sauce. Probably one of the best I've had. I did not care for the rice or beans on the side. They rice tasted old and bland. The beans were just ok. I would've preferred just the chilaquiles alone with some protein on top. The service was decent. The mask requirements hide a lot of smiles, obviously, but our waitress didn't look like she was in the best of moods that morning anyways. She was attentive but not welcoming. We visited this cool place on Saturday morning with some family who highly recommended it. We got there early since I guess it can get understandably busy later in the morning. The staff is amazing. Came here on a random morning & was super excited since I've only heard good things. This place is really cute and fun. The service was amazing and the vibe is completely there for brunch. We had the option to upgrade the potatoes to one with Brussels sprouts & you can see from the plate there's maybe 2 pieces of Brussels sprouts so I wouldn't recommend the upgrade. My partner and I both ordered the Breakfast Burger and they were very good. Someone else in our group ordered an omelette. We all got sides of home fries. Let me tell you, they did not skimp on the sides! Look at the absolute mound of potatoes in my omelette pic. If you like potatoes like us, you'll be in heaven. The only part of the meal I wasn't a fan of was my coffee. It was the daily special, some sort of cookie butter latte. It was just okay. I kinda feel bad giving this place just 3 stars, but I feel like it's just falling short of 4 stars. It's just not quite there. We came here on a Saturday with a large party so, as expected, we had to wait a bit to get a table. Not a problem. However, when we did get seated, we were placed on one of their larger tables which had 1 side facing the merchandise area. That meant on a few occasions, we had to have half our party get up & move to the side so a waiter could squeeze by to get into a cabinet to grab a hat/shirt/whatever for another customer. Really inconvenient but I guess that's the price you pay for trying to cram as many seats into a small space as possible. The wait staff was all super friendly and very attentive. They get 5 stars on that for sure. Our waitress as well as the food runners were all so friendly and helpful and also very apologetic when things were taking long (which we hadn't complained about or even noticed). The food itself was just so so. Because of our large group we got a wide range of options. All of us liked our picks, but none of us raved about it. There is one thing, however, that we all did agree on. The linguisa sausage, while absolutely delicious, had too tough of a casing. Especially on the breakfast burger where you'd bite into it, and then end up pulling the whole thing out of your mouth. I wish it was just a slightly thinner casing so you could bite through it better. There is nothing bad about BR. There's also nothing absolutely amazing about it either. It's a good, fun, hearty breakfast place with some fun takes on classic breakfast meals. I just don't know if I would wait an hour plus to eat here again. read more

First off, our server, Eric, deserves ALL the stars for his service alone! It is always wonderful having an amusing, energetic, and friendly server all rolled into one, especially after waiting 45 minutes for a table (we had a big group and the wait was definitely worth it). Everyone enjoyed the food, it was all delicious. I had the breakfast bacon Mac n cheese which was surprisingly light for breakfast, the cheese is not salty and the Mac is not overly greasy and it was topped with the fluffiest scrambled eggs I've had in a restaurant. Yummy! I know the table enjoyed their bottle of Prosecco with orange juice and lychee, I had a sip with lychee and I'm not sure if I could have it any other way again!
