Beautiful location and great seating. There was no wait and the staff was friendly. I wouldn't order the Avocado Toast again but my fiancée's chilaquiles plate was absolutely delicious. Nothing better than having breakfast with your favorite ray of sunshine. read more

First timer here! Came from Norcal and fell in love immediately with the aesthetics of this place. We sat at the bar and had great service! The spicy Bloody Mary was sooo good! When we walked up and were told it was going to be over an hour and a half wait, we expected it to be GOOD. Luckily, we snagged a seat at the bar in under 20 minutes and it was everything we hoped it would be. Food was delicious, bartender was friendly, and everything was super fast! read more

Stopped in here after going to a movie at the Lot and so glad we did. Be prepared for a wait, ours was supposed to be roughly 20-30 minutes but ended up being more like 45. There was space at the bar, so we got some cocktails - Heart Palpitation, Summer Breeze and the Bloody Mary were all divine. The Heart Palpitation had a giant coffee ice cube in it which was very cool. We were seated out on the patio, and since we had been at the bar perusing the menu we knew what we wanted. The server was super engaging and took our order right away. We had the pancake flight, steak/eggs and the special Benedict with 'upgraded' potatoes. Here is why this is 2 stars and not 4 or five. It took a long time for the food to come out -- and it was not that busy at this point as it was past 2PM and they close at 3PM. When the food came out, my pancakes were luke warm at best. Perhaps they were pre-made? They were okay and I wish I had ordered something else. very disappointing, but I was starving so I said nothing. The other items were delicious, particularly the 'upgraded' potatoes which I would recommend highly. While we were eating... they started clearing our table... YES. Asking us to hand over the salt/pepper and other items. Now I get it you are closing at 3PM BUT you are the ones that took forever to get our luke warm food out. There is nothing worse than feeling rushed. Then, they took my nieces plate -- still half her food left -- as if she was done, without even asking! Obviously given they were clearing our table, in a major way, while we were dining -- it made an experience that started out great, end not so great. read more

This place is definitely worth the hype! Got here before 10 am on a holiday Friday and we're told the wait was 40 min - can't imagine what it would be on a weekend! However we got lucky and some seats were opened at the bar and we were seated right away, perfect cause we were hungry. Bartender was awesome - super friendly, very attentive, and knowledgeable of the drinks/foods. They offer a variety of specialty/seasonal drinks (coffees, teas, and alcoholic). I didn't try any so I can't speak to them but saw the bartender making a few bloody Mary's, mimosas, and pouring a ton of the coffees on tap. Ok ok so time to get to the food. We ordered the California breakfast burrito and the breakfast Sammie. So. Good. Steak in the burrito was tender, perfect amount of eggs and guac. Served w rice and beans on the side. The breakfast Sammie was also amazing - the bacon was so good, bread was fresh, and the herb spread so flavorful. They have their own hot sauce which isn't super hot but definitely has a good kick and adds flavor. The vibes of this place are totally an Instagrammers paradise but don't be fooled. The food is worth more than just a pic on the gram. It really does live up to the hype!! read more

Brunch is my favorite meal of the day! I absolutely love pancakes and am always looking for new ones to try. When I saw that you could order a flight of pancakes and try 3 different kinds, I just knew I had to come here! They were all so good! The oreo tasted more like dessert but that didn't bother me! We split both orders and the tostadas and house potatoes were delicious as well. I was so excited to have leftovers for the next day! read more

Our breakfast was very good. I had the cluck madame Benedict with a side of linguica sausage. Wife had the shrimp ricotta frittatas. Both very good. The coffee is hot and full of flavor. Service was great. I read previous reviews and took the advice of one and we got here early, about 7:20. We were seated right away and we chose outside. Good choice. The inside looked small and probably noisy. By 8:00 there was a line. Downside, only one bathroom (really?). It is also under the takeoff pattern of the airport. Not their fault but something to consider. A plus for the location is it's a good area to walk and stroll around the shops. My advice, come early and hungry. read more

My friends raved about this place, but I never had the opportunity to try it. Since it's summer break, I took my son out for breakfast. He ordered the pancake platter (not sure what it's called) where you choose 3 different pancakes. He ordered the bacon pancakes, churro pancakes, and I forget the third. All of them were absolutely amazing!! They were served with what tasted like premiere Canadian maple syrup the topped them so wellI got whiplash from looking at all the delicious food passing by to the other tables. We are definitely going back to have more of this goodness!! read more

I've been to this location twice and total of three times in general. This place is a nice joint with a great ambience and servers. However, it's crowded pretty quick so I would recommend to call in advance to check the wait time. I usually get the eggs Benedict with Jurassic pork and it's really good. If you want something savory but also sweet this is the dish to get. My Bestfriend got the Mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was really good and I usually don't like Mac and cheese but when paired with bits of Jurassic pork it's bomb. Both of us were really satisfied especially with the service. I highly recommend this place, just beware of wait! read more

I was visiting my first home from DC, and my friends took me out to breakfast. I had never heard of this place since I've been out of DC over 2 years now, but this place alone would make me wanna move back. I ordered eggs benedict with avocado and tomato and whoooaaaahhhhh was the eggs benedict game changed for me. Mind you, I didn't get into this breakfast go-to until I got to DC, and I've had some bomb crab eggs benedict here. The venue at Liberty Station is pretty small, and since they don't take reservations, you'll need to plan ahead and/or tag team by having someone sacrifice themselves by getting there early to put your name in. Luckily, there's a sweet coffee shop across the street. Anyway, whether you've been to SD or not, live there or visiting, gotta hit this place up!! read more

I love the food at this place, but the noise is deafening (literally) - between the power washing that goes on next door at Buena Forchetta and the planes flying directly overhead, the decibel level is extremely uncomfortable. If you work here, it's got to be causing you hearing loss (see decibel meter in picture). Sitting inside isn't much better, but at least you aren't subjected to cleaning, water and pinesol overspray from next door (why can't Buena Forchetta clean at a different time to be a better neighbor?!) read more

The wait was 50 minutes to be seated on a Thursday morning. When our party of 4 (which included 2 elderly women) was finally called we were seated at the "community" table with another group. The noise level was uncomfortably loud (Between the planes and the loud music) making conversation impossible. The line for the single seat bathroom was 4 or 5 deep the entire time we were there. You have to make a choice....wait in line for the bathroom or hold it so you can eat while your food is still warm. You can't do both. The food was pretty average. Nothing extraordinary. They do serve alcohol with breakfast, so that's one thing going for them. The parking wasn't terrible, so there's another. We won't be returning. read more

Always expect the wait to be 45 minutes at the VERY least. I wish they were on the Waitlist app to make it easier/faster, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for all the food God's to notice and make it happen. The décor is really cute and the servers I have encountered have all been friendly and helpful when it comes to navigating through the menu and picking dishes. Breakfast/Brunch is my favorite meal of the day and Breakfast Republic serves one of the best breakfast/brunch menu I've seen in San Diego so far. Their coffee is pretty good too. read more

Want brunch at Breakfast Republic on a Sunday? Well, be prepared for the long wait time. My friends and I waited about 1hr and a half to dine in and it was worth the wait. Everything about this restaurant is so cute! They have chairs, salt n' pepper shakers shape as eggs, cute plate settings, and even their bathroom is cool looking. Décor and anterior was definitely on point, so thumbs up for that because I appreciate it when restaurants care about the small details. Our server was super friendly, but felt like she wasn't consistent probably due to the fact that it was super busy. Other than that, our food tasted great. Mushroom and pesto benedict: I like the mushrooms and pesto on my benedict, but I wish they went easy on the pesto and hollandaise sauce because that was all I could taste throughout my dish. I would definitely say that my favorite part about this dish was the potatoes. It was probably the best I ever had. I love that it wasn't too soggy or crunchy, but right in between. Breakfast jambalaya: If you want something savory and delicious, then I'd go for this dish. I had a bite from my cousin and it was so good! It had shrimp, sausage, and rice topped off with 3 eggs. There were a lot of flavors and talk about the portion... this will leave you with a happy tummy. Vegan madras curry scramble: I like the fact that this dish has a different style of taste for a breakfast plate, but personally it wasn't for me. The dish mostly consisted of tofu and although the portion was huge, my friend got tired of it real quick. I really like the food, service, and décor here and I can see why this is place is so popular. Also, there are a lot of selections of sweet and savory dishes to choose from and unfortunately, I did not get to try any sweet breakfasts, so I will be back! I came on a Sunday at 1030am and the wait for 2 hours for a table of 4. It's a given though because it's such a popular place with limited eating. It's a small restaurant! One of the dishes we ordered was the turkey meaetloaf hash - it has potatoes, spinach & turkey meatloaf mixed into BOMB pesto. It seemed so simple but so flavorful! It wasn't too salty like how many pesto dishes are. I really enjoyed this one! It was a recommended dish by our waiter. It comes with a slice of english muffin/toast of choice and jam! We also ordered the pancake flight; we got churro, cinnamon roll and lemon coconut. I think all the pancakes use the same buttermilk batter - they do the flavors of the pancakes by adding things on top. The churro one just had cinnamon sugar on top. The cinnamon roll one tasted like a cinnamon roll in pancake form! It had cinnamon frosting and walnuts. The lemon coconut one just tasted like coconut because they sprinkled a bunch of coconut on top. I couldn't taste any lemon. Next time, I'd go more for their savory egg dishes like the benedicts or omelets! read more

Second time at Breakfast Republic, but first at this location. Beautiful space! We waited about 20 minutes but it went by fast. Plenty of seats outside to wait. We were seated outside, which was perfect in this beautiful weather! Tracie, our server, was very helpful and friendly. We both got coffee and the Benedict with man candy (candied bacon). So a buddy of mine came from LA to kick it for a day, and what's more bromantic than getting brunch? Nothing! After scouring through the pages upon pages of brunch spots on Yelp, Breakfast Republic caught our eyes and an executive decision was rendered. This spot is cleverly (and adorably) decorated with breakfast themed furnishings, and the outdoor patio is a great way to enjoy your eggs and coffee in the San Diego sunshine (well, June Gloom was upon us, but you get the idea). I'm positive that any weekend excursions here would require an hour wait, but luckily for me, my buddy is funemployed, so we got to enjoy a half-seated restaurant on a customary Thursday morning! The menu is an instant assault on your decision-making ability. It infiltrates any willpower to conserve calories or tuck a few extra bucks in your savings account, because everything seems phenomenal! After several tense and stressful minutes of elimination, I finally decided on the "Mushroom and Pesto Eggs Benedict" ($12.00) with the additional sausage ($2.00), and upgrading the house potatoes with their brussel sprout and onion rendition ($2.00). It was delicious! The eggs were perfectly cooked, the pesto gave it a nice kick, and the potatoes (even the healthy version of it) were flavorful! What more could you ask for? We also got a side of the Jurassic Pork ($5.00 for 3 pieces), and the sweet and savory combo was both unique and mouthwatering. The other reviews that rave about them are legit! My buddy got the "Croque Monsier" ($11.00), and seemed to have loved it! We also split the "Mr. Presley French Toast," (half order - $7.00) and this baby was my favorite! The peanut butter stuffed within it was genius! It went perfectly with my coffee (house blend - $2.95 for bottomless), which was smooth, strong, and delicious in its own right. All in all, Breakfast Republic has earned its namesake, and the location (Liberty Station) provides a great opportunity to walk around while you wait, or as a sequel to a great brunch! read more

BOMB DOT COM.....Got recommend this place by a buddy of mine and figured I would try it out. After a solid night of drinking the tummy was in need of a good filling meal to help it get kicking again. Wait staff was great and friendly. Small joint so get there early because they don't do reservations. Would also say park across the street and walk instead of spending countless time circling in the car. read more

Had breakfast here yesterday and had high expectations based on reviews and family recommendations. I was somewhat disappointed. The banner outside claims that it was rated the best breakfast in San Diego for 2017 and 2018 but 2019 was not mentioned. The good: Restaurant was open on time at 0700 as advertised and ready for business when I arrived. Our server, Destiny, was attentive and helpful. In fact, all staff were courteous and friendly. The menu is somewhat exotic for San Diego, among other items, offering Jambalaya and shrimp and grits, which one does not often see outside of the South. All of the food items were of good quality and preparation. I ordered Steak and Eggs and the food came prepared as ordered, hot and fresh. The steak was juicy and marinated in spices which were tasty but not overwhelming and came with a sauce on the side which was tasty as well. Oddly, the steak was pre-cut in the kitchen and ready to eat. The hash browns were unique and very tasty, and came shaped into a small round tower. Coffee was strong and tasty and came in a large cup which required no refills. The not so good: The menu here-in spite of southern origins and influence-did not offer biscuits and gravy. Not good. Lose one star for this. The steak was served on a wood platter. Wood cannot be sanitized and is basically a health hazard. Food safety 101. I am surprised that in year 2020 this is still happening in restaurants which should know better. I took a chance and ate the food and fortunately did not suffer any intestinal consequences so I guess I got lucky this time. One star off for this. Pricing of menu items was rather high. Will I return? Perhaps, but if there is a next time, I will ask that all of my food be served on non-porous plates and dishes. read more

We came for the food and it was good for the most part. But the coffee was nasty. The outdoor seating was super small and cramped. It took them really long to turn on the heat while we were seated outside in the cold. But on the flip side, the orange juice, the strawberry cheesecake pancakes, pineapple pancakes, chai tea and breakfast burrito with rice and beans were all very delicious! And our waiter was super legit! read more

This place is truly an experience. Came here on a weekday for some breakfast, and although the line was long, I was sat almost immediately due to the fact that I was with one other person. I ordered the Organic Nitro Cold Brew to start and was satisfied with the result. While it did taste a little more earthy compared to other cold brews I've had, it was very smooth and easy to drink. For my meal I ordered the Jammin Bennie and substituted avocado for the vegan Italian sausage. Easily one of the best benedicts I've ever eaten. Every bite was flavorful, and the blackberry-jalapeño jam was top-notch. I look forward to coming back and trying more items off their menu, and I am grateful that there are a decent amount of vegetarian options! read more

If you're looking for breakfast and coffee, Breakfast Republic will not disappoint If you can find it on the northwest side of Liberty Station on the corner of Simms and Truxton Road. I sat at the bar with Baily doing the Mixology and me doing the eating. I learned more about Mixology over the hour than in a full class, and Bailey said that was only a moderately busy morning. The seasonable vegetable scramble had a good flavor with fresh, crispy vegetables, perfectly sautéed, before being mixed into the scramble. always as it should be, and I recommend the red hot sauce, though I forget what she called it even though she told me the name three times as there was a lot of crosstalk in the crowded but pleasant venue. In addition to Bailey tending bar, the hostess also dropped by to see how I was coming along, and I can tell you the two of them taken care of me, it was better than being in a five-star restaurant. I had the standard coffee, and fresh cream, not the little seal containers, and it was strong and had a good deep rich flavor, just the way I like it. Bailey also brought a glass of ice water three even asking. Many thanks. To go with the vegetable seasonable scramble, I had the pineapple upside down pancakes, asking Bailey if that would be too much, but she wisely advised me to get the scramble and then the pancakes as a substitute for the toast what's usually accompanies the scramble, which worked out perfectly. The pancakes were cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside, and melt in your mouth on the inside, and I got the real maple syrup, for one dollar up charge. The pancakes came with A small dice of fresh pineapple in a little bit of juice, there was also fresh whipped butter, Yum. It goes without saying the pleasant company and the delightful breakfast cuisine, made for a quite enjoyable morning experience. Many thanks. Highest recommendation. read more

First of all, the Jurassic Pork bacon is AMAZING. Add it to their Bloody Mary, even better. The blend of the savoriness and spiciness from the Bloody Mary and the sweet but slightly salty bacon is pretty on point. I had the hickory smoked sausage omelette and that egg was fluffy. Also tried the steak and eggs. The flavor combination of the steak with the cilantro chimichurri sauce was quite good, as well. The bacon hash brown was good, too. Geez, EVERYTHING was good. Including the berry jam.. which, by the way, they make. Tasted so fresh. Now, the service. The servers were just the right amount of attentive and friendly. Not hovering or annoying at all. We just shared the grits and shrimp breakfast. It looked amazing but unfortunately it was tasteless. Both my husband and I were really surprised and left most of our food. The menu is amazing with a very eclectic variety of options so I would probably try something else but by all means, avoid the shrimp and grits. Service was marginal. Had to find a salt shaker from another table and the pen they gave us to sign our credit card had no ink. Had to stop waitress's to get service. There was no refill on one of our "bottomless" drinks. A very busy place so prepare to wait. read more

BOMBBBB food. I tried the veggie scramble, which comes with herb roasted potatoes, and then I swapped the bread for their cinnamon roll pancake. Highly recommend all of those items! They are definitely busy (wait for a table was over an hour) but I ended up sitting at a community table and it was pretty fun. The regulars at my table said they always get the shrimp and grits (to my surprise half of the plate was grits and the other half was scrambled eggs, so it's even more of a breakfasty item!) and that it's the most popular dish there. I really wanted to like this place because the menu sounds great, but unfortunately the experience just wasn't worth it. I ordered the chilaquiles with carne asada, and the protein was completely missing when the dish came out. By the time it was finally brought out on the side, my food was already cold -- and then I was still charged for it. That was honestly pretty frustrating. The service overall was lacking. Our server barely checked on us, and my water sat empty the entire meal after my first glass was gone -- I never even got a refill. The food itself was pretty average at best. The chilaquiles were cold, bland, and tasted like canned enchilada sauce poured over stale chips. The pancakes were okay, but the banana French toast wasn't good either. What shocked me most though was the cleanliness. Two people in our party literally left with dirty pants because there was old food smeared on the chairs, and our table still had sticky residue on it when we were seated. Even the bathroom was disappointing -- there wasn't any toilet paper when I went in there. I love Breakfast Republic, and this location has a nice outdoor section. I'd say the outdoor patio area is the best place to enjoy their great food at any of their locations. Problem though: the mimosas at BR are my favorite, but for some reason they suck here. And only here. I always have 2 or 3 when I go to any of the other locations. But on two different occasions I ordered my first mimosa here, and sent it back after just a couple sips. Really wish they'd look into that, because I stopped going to this location as a result. Also, of the five times I've been here, once I had great service by a really sweet waitress, twice I've had poor service by a girl who didn't want to make the effort to be respectful or good-natured, and twice I've had simply adequate service. So those are the places they could improve. But 4 stars for the menu. read more

This breakfast sandwich was truly something special. The soft brioche bread was the perfect vehicle for the juicy fried chicken, savory ham, and gooey gruyere cheese. And let's not forget about the over-easy egg on top, which added a creamy and decadent finish to the whole dish. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was bright and lively. Everything was delicious! I ordered the crab+crawfish cake Benedict which is served with a side of potatoes. The potatoes did taste a little oily that was the only negative of the meal for me. I had a vanilla cappuccino which was perfectly frothy and beautiful. My friend ordered the S'mores French Toast which looked beautiful. She said it was deliciously sweet. Definitely a good option if you have a sweet tooth! The service was great. We were seated promptly, our waiter checked in on us, and he brought us our check and a box when I asked so I could get my friend to the airport on time. (Brunch on April 21) On the last day of vacation, went back to Liberty Station and ate here. Glad we went. Casual atmosphere, a bit loud, but not too much, and the food was absolutely wonderful. My wife enjoyed a Banana Split French Toast, an intriguing combination of the two items. I sampled it and find it to be quite tasty. My choice? A Linguisa Sausage Egg Scramble. It included four eggs, the sausage, bacon, peppers, garlic, tomatoes, thyme and oregano with hot sauce stirred in. A great treat for the tongue. House potatoes and bread were included. What a fantastic little spot! Breakfast Replica is an absolute gem for a morning meal. The staff was wonderful--super friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. I had dinner at 6:00 on Saturday night at the neighboring Italian restaurant and these D-Bags decided it was a good idea to power wash the exterior seating for an hour with one of the loudest power washer motors I have ever heard. This was obviously a passive aggressive way to annoy the neighbors. --- To the manager - Grow a pair and talk to your neighbor if you have a dispute and deal with it like an adult. --- To those of you looking for a good breakfast joint - I have actually eaten at Breakfast Republic and I recommend going to IHOP instead. I recently visited Breakfast Republic and, unfortunately, my experience wasn't great. When we arrived, we were ignored by the hostess despite being the first ones there. The service didn't improve much after that -- our waitress was pretty indifferent and didn't seem very attentive. The food was okay, but honestly, it lacked flavor and didn't live up to the hype. Overall, it wasn't the breakfast experience I was hoping for. On a positive note, they had a really inspiring quote on the wall that I appreciated. My favorite restaurant in Liberty Station; a breakfast place that serves booze! I had the mac n' cheese, who ever would have thought that mac n' cheese could be this good for breakfast!! We recently had an amazing breakfast here! It was about a 30 minute wait on a busy day but the food was well worth it! This location is rather small, there were only a handful of tables inside but the service was amazing! Our waitress was filling our drinks before we even knew we wanted them filled! This place is great! it was raining so the outside was closed and we were told the wait was an hour and a half. We decided to wait but were seated after 30 minutes! The food was fantastic. An ok experience. The service is B+ (could be better). The menu is confusing. One side is all the drinks and gear you can buy, the other side is the breakfast menu... The prices are a little high. $11 for avocado toast with strawberries and pomegranate (good, but very different and kind of a weird combination of flavors). If you want to walk in and reserve without calling in ahead you might be waiting over an hour just to sit down, the wait time then for food is 20-30 minutes. Love this location, so close to the airport and the perfect first meal for visiting guests. We always see the same staff and they are always friendly and welcoming. We were told that they have a full bar for cocktails and the server rattled off 3 red wines when asked what they had in that category. She mentioned the kinds of wine, but not the winery or where they were from. That is how we started. My husband and I had a Caesar salad. It was very good and a good salad to split. I ordered the shrimp and pesto pasta. I was asked if I wanted it creamy or with olive oil. I chose the olive oil. Although the seafood was tasty, the spaghetti was very dry and not really edible. My husband ordered salmon piccata and told the server he wanted it medium rare. It too, was very dry. We were very hopeful when we walked in. We were very disappointed with the meal. It is still a bright and clean restaurant, but the food quality is not there.
